I visited the store to unlock my phone, but the lady Lura was not helpful. She had told me that she couldn't assist me because the charger wasn't working. She plugged my phone into the computer to unlock it for a maximum of one minute and then told me that there was nothing she could do. I asked her again, "Is there anything you can do to help?" She replied that fixing the charger would cost $600. I didn't trust her because she didn't seem to be doing her job properly, so I decided to go to AT&T to confirm that there was nothing wrong with my charger. When I returned to the store, I spoke to the manager, Calvin. He was able to unlock my phone without any problems. First of all, there was nothing wrong with my charger. Stopped in recently to get a new phone. Busy as always, and hard to find an associate to hep with a. Purchase. I went in knowing just what I wanted, but had to wait about 15 minutes for an employee to be able to fill my order and get it from the back room. The floor associates are good, and knowledgeable about product, but they really should have a checkout counter for people who know what they want, and don't need the unnecessary up sales pitches. read more

I'm not a fan of Apple but I give credit where credit is due. This place earned five stars. My wife's phone would not turn on so I brought it in here to get some help. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by a young lady and immediately knew what the problem was and resolved it. Since I was here I figured I would have it checked and get diagnostics run. It took about 20 minutes to wait for someone to be able to help me but considering how many people there were, that wasn't a bad wait. The young man who came out to do the diagnostics was friendly and efficient. He explained exactly what was happening and what the findings were. There is a software update needed and he initiated that for me. Overall It was a very good experience. read more

My iPad died and during the process I realized my phone needed a new battery. My phone prompted me to make an appointment at this location at Friendly shopping center. I showed up early and they processed me right away. The logic board (motherboard) is dead so the iPad is useless. They were able to give me a new phone battery but I had to come back an hour later to pick the phone up. I dealt with five or six reps and they were all friendly and efficient. I imagine they deal with a lot of difficult customers. Oh, and don't forget your Apple ID because you will need that. The iPad lasted six years but we used it a lot. read more

I had not been inside an Apple, Inc. store since before the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown (prior to 2020), so I was unaware that they had been reopened. Imagine being surprised when I was told I could take my phone to one for repair. Well, I am glad that I did! Upon entering, I was greeted with the familiar welcome I remembered years ago. Although the place was packed with customers, it took only a few seconds for an Apple associate dressed in a red shirt to find out my needs. The associate listened diligently and was quick to enlist help for my complicated issue, and although I was there longer than expected, I felt it was time well spent. I came here around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon to pick up some AirPods my brother ordered. Parking was surprising easy. They have glass for their store front and it looked busy inside. When I walked in, I was promptly greeted. I told them I was picking up an order. They looked it up and told me to go to the pick up order sign. Doug helped me at the pick up area. He checked me in and told me it would be out shortly. A lady brought it out a minute later. Quick and easy process. Legit in and out in less than 5 minutes. While it was busy, there was ample staff around. Some had on name badges but some didn't. However, each of them were wearing a shirt with the apple logo on it. I did noticed an officer present as well. They seemed to be providing security, which is understandable lol. read more

Told me my beats were ready, An employee goes to check in the back.. 20 minutes goes buy I see him leave out the back and walk out the store without saying nothing. I was there for 2 hrs last Monday January 29. They sent my watch out, took my screen protector off returned it saying nothing was wrong even though while I was there my watch was at 40% and died within 30 minutes. Then when I got it back and put another screen protector on it literally went to 79% so can be serviced for free. The battery doesn't degrade over night. Mine sat at 80% from September to January and in a matter of 3 days dropped 79%. So now I am out 2 screen protectors because of apples negligence as well as schedule another appt to get it serviced read more

I arrived on a busy Saturday around 2:30pm to get a new cell phone. I saw the number of people and almost walked out because I did not want to wait a long time. But I was greeted immediately and was told it would be a few minutes before someone could help. Their check-in system wasn't the best. The guy who greeted me said he would send someone my way when he saw an employee available. And in my mind, with all these people how does he remember who is next. I had been looking around the store for about 10-15 minutes when Kia asked if I needed help. She was super nice! I told her I needed to get a new phone and I wasn't happy about it. She wasn't pushy and I could tell I wasn't just a dollar sign. She asked me about my top features and helped me choose what I was looking for. It was a great experience thanks to her customer service. She also got my stuff transferred from old phone to new phone which has always been a disaster. Not this time! Very smooth. One last thing, I couldn't figure out why my phone didn't have storage. Kia helped me realize that my phone was downloading something that I didn't even know I was using. My 2013 MacBook Pro stopped charging. A quick session at the Genius Desk resolved the problem. It has become my back-up unit because I decided to buy a new model while at the store. I have no idea why the store runs the way it does, but it sure does get rid of customers who are ready to make purchases. Went in to the store today to check out the new iPhone, and then to make a purchase. We were told that it would be a 1 hour wait just to purchase the iPhone. So we did exactly this and waited, we walked around the Friendly Center and then went back into the store to finalise the purchase. Firstly we were told to download an app as it would be "easier" - so we waited for this to download and we proceeded with the steps, until we were told that the phone would be ready for collection on Monday - today it is Saturday. Why oh why was this not told beforehand, especially as they knew we wanted to make the purchase and leave with the item today, otherwise we would have ordered online. Seriously disappointed. We left without even following through with that purchase, and will not be back. Ridiculous customer service. On the plus side plenty of parking outside. read more

Rude staff with bad people skills that talk down to customers at this location. Seemingly uninterested in answering fairly simple questions. Unfortuanately I didn't note their names, but based on other negative reviews of this store I doubt it would be addressed by management. I started by asking a group of 4 tablet holding employees standing around if I needed an appointment just to ask a few non-technical product questions. I was told no by the first employee who then walked away to "see if he could find someone" before I had even asked a question. He then proceeded to speak with another employee for several minutes near the back of the store. So I asked yet another idle employee the same question: "Do I need an appointment to ask a few non-technical questions?" His reply was no, and he proceeded to talk down to me while visibly annoyed. After I vowed not to go shopping on Black Friday, I ended up at the Apple Store at Friendly Center to pick up a new MacBook Air for my mom ($100 off). The store closed at 10pm tonight and I showed up around 8:30pm. Luckily, the store wasn't insanely busy. I knew exactly what I wanted and didn't have any questions, so I was in and out in about 25 minutes. I told a random Apple employee that I wanted to purchase a MacBook Air. He directed me to the Apple employee greeting customers at the entrance. I told *that* Apple employee I wanted to purchase a MacBook Air and he took down my name on his iPad and said I was 4th in "line" to see a sales associate. I waited about 10 minutes until Morgan greeted me. She told me I was lucky and earlier in the day, when the store opened, she couldn't even get inside and she's an employee! I told Morgan the specific MacBook Air configuration I wanted and she confirmed pricing on her iPod Touch. It was only supposed to take 30 seconds for the computer to be brought out to us, but it ended up taking over 7 minutes. Morgan eventually went into the back herself and had to open up a new box of MacBook Airs to get me mine. Morgan and I completed the entire transaction on the floor using her iPod Touch. The Touch had an attachment on the back where I could swipe my credit card. I also signed my name using my finger on the screen. The receipt was emailed to me. Since the MacBook Air was a gift, Morgan offered to give me an "icing" card to give to my mom. This card allows my mom to come back to the Apple Store with her new MacBook and an Apple employee would help her with the setup process for free. I also purchased my mom an Apple "One to One" membership for $99. For one year, my mom can schedule as many one-hour appointments as she wants for personal training at the Apple Store. Excellent. Morgan was cool, pleasant to work with, and cute too. Other than having to wait in "line" to see a sales associate and waiting for the computer to be brought out from the back, the entire purchasing experience was quick and efficient. read more

Based on the experiences of other Yelpers and my own experience at the Apple Store, it seems who you get to help you matters a lot. I've been to the Genius Bar six times and four of those times I had excellent help. Twice the help was pretty worthless. Today I had a great experience from an employee who showed me how to transfer an iMovie project to my PC at home. He took all the time I needed and made a task that online guides had made very difficult very easy to do. By the way, I didn't have to wait at all to get his help. Given the mixed Yelp reviews, while the experience does obviously vary, I can't think of any other technology store or product that offers so much free support. My suggestion is when you find an employee who is really good, remember their name and ask for them in the future. read more

After I went to the Verizon store where they fixed it immediately. They just wanted me to spend more money on them and upgrade my phone here. I never like giving poor reviews, and that's especially true when it comes to Apple products. I am a big apple user. But I haven't just had problems with this place just once or twice. I was very excited when this store came to Greensboro. I had been waiting for many years. It meant I could go to a store instead of online. And if I had trouble I could drive there. But it is not such a so good story from that point on. They are very robotic, the way they work. They don't give you straight answers sometimes, and even when I go to a relatively empty store with them standing around, I have to go on a 1.5 hour wait list. The people seem to only be trained for certain jobs, so even if they have 10 people standing around, they can not, or will not help you Sometimes I just need an accessory. Sometimes I need help with my computer. After several bad experiences I stopped going there. A time later, I tried them again. Still bad. I waited a long time, and tried again. Still really bad. When push comes to shove, these people are horrible representatives for apple. Go to your local electronics store for Apple help, or even better, call apple! My wife went in because the geek squad sent her there because her iPhone was Not working properly and they would not even check the problem, they told her the test said it was fine and sent her home crying. I'm going back in a few days and see if we can resolve this problem with a supervisor. The girl was rude. The phone is new and should work properly. It is under warranty. For the second time as a customer I have a silicon iPhone case that peels and cracks at the corners. I took it in and was told it looks like I dropped it and that's why the case has peeled. Being that it is silicone and not hard plastic, it should not peel apart. Representatives are so rude. They think of themselves as GOD. Where do they get this attitude from? What makes them superior? Customer service is beyond pathetic here. Also too long a wait time. When we request for help, all reps are busy but one pops up to comment on my husband who removed his mask down briefly to use Face ID (no one was around him for more then 6ft distance). While my husband was abt to mask up, the same rep in his annoying tone repeated to put the mask back. We are conscious abt the COVID measures in any public places too. But he behaved as a sole warrior against COVID spread. Cut us some slack people. This isn't the first time we encountered rudeness at this store. I hope someone from top management takes this up with high priority and provide proper customer service training to all employees. I've been living in the area for five years and i sometimes drop by this store while my wife is shopping a few stores down. My complaint is that in five years, NOT ONCE have I been able to talk with a staff person. Before the pandemic when things were open, I was NEVER able to attract anyone's attention, even when I had money in my pocket ready to pay in cash for what I wanted. They take covid seriously and are constantly cleaning. They don't require masks if you are vaccinated but the workers are still wearing them for the most part. Kind, patient and because everything is appointment only unless you are buying an accessory from the wall they are taking a lot flack from folks who refuse to plan ahead and make appointments. Listening to folks in the check in line it seemed like everyone drove an "hour" from a town I know is only 30 minutes away.
