I have built four desk tops and "upgraded" another one with the help of these folks. They gave very sound advice and guided me to solutions that were foremost effective and also within the budget available. The repair services may not be overnight (who does that anyway?) but it's been quick and turn around was easy to deal with (being self employed, it makes a huge difference). One aspect I truly like about these folks, they do NOT try to up sell on anything. It has always been what fits the need and maybe even one step up to keep everything working like expected. A dead store with rude and hostile employees. As for parts? This place best defines why the internet has replaced most sourcing for parts and software rather than use a local retail location. Their repair people may help if you have no experience, but after asking some questions about issues, their snarky and condescending attitudes pretty much chase professionals away. Took my computer to the Greensboro store on Battleground. Adam gave me great service taking the time to explain everything. I was amazed that no deposit was necessary and I couldn't believe how quickly my "All in One desktop computer was backed up and my hard drive was replaced. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. They replaced the keyboard of my Dell Precision M4700 laptop computer, very quickly (about 25 minutes, on and off), right then and there, and very inexpensively ($20.00 for the labor )! This happened a couple of weeks ago, so I know the repair was successful. I had bought the OEM replacement keyboard on eBay for $48 and had tried to install it myself. Couldn't get it to work. Didn't know that 15-pin ribbon connectors are very difficult to use for a mere non-techie productivity user like me. The YouTube videos made it look easy. NOT! So took it to Intrex. My wife has used them for all her PC needs over the years and recommended them highly. Turns out I had messed up the connector, so he CAREFULLY and EXPERTLY harvested the good circuit board with the connector on my old keyboard and replaced the circuit board I had damaged on the new keyboard. He then VERY CAREFULLY and EXPERTLY aligned the 15 pins of the connector with their mates and, after a couple of attempts, SUCCESS! (You would not believe how tiny the pins of the connectors are). I was so happy. Still am! So, I ask him what I owe him, and he says $22.73 or something like that. I stared at him and said, "You can charge me more." He replied, "Naw, it only took me 15 minutes." Amazing. I have decided to try to do all my PC-related equipment purchases and repairs with Intrex from now on. They sell (and build), systems and parts as well as repair them. The guy who was next in line--- without prompting-- enthusiastically raved about them. Only thing you might not like is, they don't smile a lot. No small talk or b.s. They're busy. That's fine with me--in fact, it's a good thing. I used to be around techies back in The Day-- was in the PC software industry for years. Some techies are charlatans, others are mediocre, and a few are talented rock stars like these guys, so I didn't mind a'tall. I went in to get an estimate for replacing the back cover plate on my laptop (it had been dropped and was cracked). I was told the total cost would be around $90. I asked for the breakdown and was told the part was around $30 and labor would be around $60. The guy mentioned that they do some diagnostics as explanation for the $60. I informed him that I have a warranty on the non-hardware part of my computer and for that reason didn't want them to do anything except replace the back cover. He spoke with another guy briefly there at the counter (the owner? a supervisor? IDK) who told him that in that case they could do it all for $60. I agreed, paid the $60, and left (they were to call me when the part came in). A few days later they called me. I went in to get the part replaced. The guy helping me at the counter this time was the supervisor guy who tells me I need to pay another $30. I reminded him that they had agreed the total would be $60. He acted like he didn't remember, or maybe he truly didn't remember, but the other guy who helped me the first time was standing there and acted like he didn't hear the conversation or didn't remember. So long story short, I don't appreciate the bait and switch. I would not recommend any business that does something like this. I won't be returning. BTW, there was no misunderstanding because I had just left Best Buy on that first visit and Best Buy told me it'd be around $90-120. There's no way I would leave Best Buy to go to a small mom-and-pop who was going to charge me the same thing. I would've taken the laptop right back to BB. read more

Intrex Computers is the place to go if you need a computer expert to assist you in any way with computers. I know because I have been a customer of theirs for several years. Since I have learned the hard way that places like Best Buy are not staffed by true computer "geeks": they are unreliable, take a long time, expensive and unlikely to fix the problem. Intrex will figure out what the problem is and call you with the prognosis and estimate of time and cost. They will fix your computer and call you promptly when it is done. The cost is always very reasonable. The employees are always friendly to me and don't mind answering customer's questions. I am no expert so they always have taken the time to explain things to me and don't act condescending like some people will when talking to a relative illiterate in terms of computer knowledge like myself. They also sell laptops and desktops and all things you could possibly need for any computer. I have used Intrex Computer repair before and their service was always good. This time around, meh, not so good. They usually call the next day with a diagnosis and if the repair is going to be more than $50. I never heard from them so I called them after 3 days. They still had not looked at the computer and indicated that there were "others ahead of you". I get it. 3 more days passed and still no call. I asked the manager if this was common and he said he had been gone for a few days and, evidently, the ball was dropped. OK, again I get it. Problem is there was no apology (something I always notice). When I picked up the computer, it still didn't work so they needed to check it back in. Same problem again - no call. When I did stopped in, the employee (Kurt?) who took care of me was polite but short with me. I said "I just want the computer to work right, that's why I brought it in." He said very curtly "do you want to take it home or check it back in? If you check it back in, we'll have to charge you again." Well, Kurt, it seems you need some additionally training in customer service. Problem is, the manager is not capable of providing that either. read more

I called about purchasing a charger for my laptop. They had done work on the laptop before but couldn't just get me the item. They need the specs again. They tell me they have the right one. I asked when they close. They told me 10pm. I'm here it is 8:30pm but they lied. They closed early. This was no mistake on their part. I commented about how late 10pm was and complimented them on stay open lay because they weren't open when I called in the morning. read more

My laptop is a bit old and started not holding a charge. I would plug it in and it still would go dead. I assumed it was a battery. After going to a couple of places for a battery with no luck, I went to Intrex. Corey was so helpful. He looked up the battery and got a price and said 3-5 days. I wasn't really sure it was the battery. I asked about a new computer and he showed me a couple of models. I was desperate because I needed stuff of my old computer. He said he would look at mine and make sure the programs would transfer over. While plugging it in, he noticed it was quite loose. He grabbed another plug from his stock and as it turned out, I just had a bad cord! I bought a $5 power cord and all was good! He could have easily sold me a $600 computer because I didn't know any better but he was honest and helpful.
