If you order delivery paying by the pound order twice what you think you need. It's delivered in a bag. No precaution in the way of putting it in a cooler. By the time it arrives gets to you it's half melted. Also I thought save on delivery and the melting issue( I showed up in the morning after their google listing hours and I was there on time. They didn't show up until 1 1/2 hour after opening. Go to Bill at Babylon Ice, best service and better prices all year round. In the winter he'll even bring ice home so far as you give him notice. We ordered an ice sculpture from Apple Ice this past July for our company's 100th anniversary. If this rating was solely based on the ice sculpture itself, I would give 5 stars, because the artist did a beautiful job on it. However, the customer service was lacking...A LOT. My initial contact with them was great and I received the information I requested immediately, but it went south from there. It was hard to get my questions answered and this continued until the day before our event. I had told our meeting planner that I would prefer to cancel the order all together since I was not getting a response from them. She made a call to them and was able to get the information I was requesting. The delivery was late, the drain was not brought at time of set up and I had been told by delivery man that someone else would be bringing it. That someone else never came and by the end of the night, water had leaked all on the carpet of the venue it was being held at (which is an iconic landmark). We had to pay, in advance, for the removal of the sculpture and I had given clear instructions as to what time the event ended. No one ever showed up, I made numerous calls to several numbers and I only received a return call hours later after our group had left. The venue was gracious to handle the removal for us. I never received any communication from Apple Ice after the event and I finally emailed them my feedback and requested that they refund the money paid for the removal. Again, no response so I emailed them again two months later asking that the money for breakdown be refunded. I finally received a response and was refunded for the breakdown. I would not recommend using this company for a big event. Perhaps they are better at handling smaller events, but when planning a large event you need a company that will be there to answer your questions and assure you that they will pull through. This was not my experience with Apple Ice and I was stressing up to the last minute as to whether the sculpture would show up. Again, the ice sculpture was amazing, but it is truly a shame that the poor customer service overshadowed the excitement of it. read more

I used these guys for my wedding and they came through in a big way! They hand carved a custom made ice luge sculpture for my wedding in Manhattan, then delivered it complete with a drainage tray and LED lights, at exactly the right time. When I realized we needed ice for the bar, they talked me through the different options of ice cubes, bag sizes, and how much I would need to chill drinks and serve guests. They were so helpful I actually felt BETTER after ordering from them. The ice luge was a huge hit and the whole bill for ice and luge was around $500. I'm trying to think of new excuses to order another one! read more

Apple Ice recently was a life saver. My refrigerator went on the fritz and PC Richard claimed to have fixed it. Low and behold, they didn't and I woke up on the 4th to refrigerator that wasn't keeping cold. Since then I have obtained dry ice from Apple Ice twice and both times they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Monday I called to inquire about pricing on an ice luge, l was given information about the "summer bundle". After speaking with some other places I decided to go with the deal. Same day I called back to place the order however I was told there was no need to pre-order, & that the bundle could be purchased as a walk in, which was different than what I was previously told. But okay, either way it was fine. Just to make sure I called back on Thursday, since I was previously given two different bits of information. Again, was told no need to pre-order. I show up on Saturday to purchase/pick up the bundle and no one has any idea what I'm talking about & I'm told something like I was looking for would have had to be pre-ordered. After speaking to 4 different people, I finally get what I came for. It seems as though Apple Ice really needs to get their employees on the same page, regardless of position. Having unknowledgeable associates is something that can absolutely drive customers away. ALL IN ALL, I was happy with the actual luge and the bundle deal. They're ALWAYS late. They ask you for a "one hour window for delivery" when you order then show up whenever they feel like it. When they're running late and you call they just say "the driver is down the road", "you're the next stop", or "15 minutes" regardless of when they'll actually show up. Sometimes they don't even show up until the next day. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but they charge more than their competitors and say it's because they're "an emergency ice delivery service" or "provide the convenience of bringing the ice when the customer wants".
