I had a great experience at the Apple Store today. Dani, helped me look at different Apple Watches. We tried on a few. I ended up buying a new band for my old watch and a new charger. But, kudos to Dani for sticking with me through the process. I did fall in love with the titanium Apple 10 watch, but it is very expensive. So, I decided to wait and see if I could make my old watch sparkle. When, Dani had to leave, Rodrigo took over and he was very nice. We tried working Unfortunately, my old watch won't update. 3/27/26 Update: I spoke with the manager from that day, Gordon, over the phone. While he apologized for our experience, he repeatedly stated he would always back his employees and did not take accountability for his own behavior. He mentioned he told the employee she shouldn't have stayed in the conversation, but maintained that he did nothing wrong. When I raised concerns that we may have been treated this way due to our race and my mother's accent, he said he would "exit the conversation because that is a new allegation," which I found inappropriate and dismissive. Overall, nothing was resolved. I didn't feel comfortable speaking with him given how the situation was handled in-store, and when I asked to escalate the issue, he indicated he was the one handling it, basically leaving me with no choice but to interact with him. 3/18/26: I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Apple Store in Montgomery Mall and will not be returning. I came in intending to purchase an Apple Watch, but the level of customer service was unacceptable from the start. An employee at the display table was busy chatting and laughing with another customer and completely ignored us for an extended period. When I approached another employee to ask for assistance, she responded with a rude attitude and dismissed my concern, insisting someone was already helping--when that clearly wasn't the case. Before even assisting me, she asked, "Are you going to buy?" which was both inappropriate and off-putting. She then reluctantly directed another employee to help us. A few minutes later, my mom calmly approached her and asked for the employee's name (Devina) so we could provide feedback. Instead of de-escalating or apologizing, the employee became defensive and involved her manager (Gordon), creating a scene in the middle of the store. Both the employee and the manager handled the situation poorly. The employee repeatedly interrupted, contradicted what actually happened, and accused us of having an attitude. The manager then stated, "I will always take my employees' side," and dismissed the situation with "agree to disagree," rather than addressing the issue professionally. This entire interaction was unprofessional and completely avoidable. There was no accountability, no apology, and no attempt to resolve the situation respectfully. If there are cameras in the store, I strongly encourage management to review the footage. I walked in ready to make a purchase and left feeling disrespected and frustrated. ***BAD EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOCATION*** I went to the Apple store today in Montgomery Mall, Bethesda, Maryland, USA. to pick up my order and to request a proper diagnostic. Upon arriving I explained to new rep that my previous experience with a representative named Josh was not satisfactory, as I felt a thorough diagnostic was not completed on my product and that I felt I was rushed through the service. the new representative began assisting me and attempted to troubleshoot the issue. He then went to the Apple TV section and started working through trouble shooting my old remote. Shortly after, the store manager, Gordon, approached and interrupted the conversation. His tone felt abrupt, confrontational and hostile as he asked his staff what was happening here and whether we were "educating" him(me) on the product. He also stated that there were many customers waiting, which did not appear consistent with the store's actual level of activity at the time. I explained to Gordon that I had previously been rushed during my first visit with Josh and that I was again being rushed by him before a proper diagnostic could be completed. I had been waiting for a considerable amount of time like other customers and was hoping for a complete and fair assessment of my device. Gordon the manager then insisted that the representative should simply conclude the interaction and proceed to the next customer. At this point I felt discriminated because he did the same thing to another foreign customer behind me while I was waiting to be helped. Then when I asked about the escalation process, he confirmed he was the manager and stated there was no one above him. I expressed my understanding that, aside from store leadership, there is corporate oversight. He reiterated that he was the final authority in the store. He was on a power trip. He was abusing and overusing his authority in a way that felt controlling or unfair to me. Throughout the interaction, I felt his tone and approach were unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive. I also felt there was a lack of respectful customer handling and leadership in the way the situation was managed, particularly in front of staff and other customers. I clearly stated to him that my goal was simply to have my product properly repaired, replaced, or addressed fairly on my second visit since it was not thoroughly handled on my first visit. I also shared that I found his interaction to be hostile and not aligned with the level of service. According to Apple's Business Conduct Policy, Apple emphasizes honesty demonstrating high ethical standards in all business dealings and respect, which includes treating customers, partners, suppliers, employees, and others with courtesy and dignity. In this situation, these standards of business conduct were not upheld. He then changed his uniform, came out of the back door wearing a hoodie with his hat turned backwards, and stared at me in a way that felt intended to intimidate me before leaving the store. I have been an Apple customer for over 20 years, and I have not previously experienced this type of dismissive service and aggressive interaction. This place is hit or miss. All depends on who you get as an Apple "tech." One young guy was so arrogant that I had to put him in his place. First of all, yall as the employees won't have a job if it wasn't for customers. My pet peeve as a customer, is when they are helping someone, then they turn to you and ask, what can I help, you with?. Brought in my iPhone 12 mini for battery replacement. They ended up broke my screen. This is 2nd time it happened. About 2-3 years ago, I brought in my iPhone 8 and they broke the screen as well. What kind of incompetent technicians work at this locations? Definitely not coming back again hopefully the downtown Bethesda store is better. Also, the attitude of the "Genius" was horrible. I want to take the time to acknowledge that after Apple of Montgomery Mall shattered and broke my phone in their possession (I assume they dropped it in the back then tried to pass on the fees to fix it to me) to the extent the screen no longer worked and I lost everything on my phone, nothing was accomplished and they stole over $1k from me on a few month (2 months old bought new) old phone. I have no hate to Apple and love their products however this store is a disgrace to their name and I'd be ashamed if I were an owner to admit their practices were under my responsibility. After taking in my phone, they returned from the back within a few minutes telling me they couldn't help me and put my case back on my phone that they had taken off when in the lobby, upon it immediately not working when I got home and feeling it was very hot I took off the case come to find out this store must have dropped my phone after taking it out of the case, obliterating the back glass and then putting my case back on to tell me that they couldn't fix it and there was nothing they could do, go figure since when I was home it wouldn't work at all after that so I couldn't do anything on it either. This store does not accept responsibility and has only continued to be there because of the location. If I have any advice it is to take your phone to any other Apple Store, or at least a mall kiosk before you take it to this store. This store should be your very last resort. After I took a picture of the Apple store ( from the outside of the store in the mall area), an Apple employee came up and told me that I couldn't take pictures of the store and it was "actually illegal". I then looked it up online, apparently you're not allowed to take pictures inside the store... but I was clearly in the mall area not even close to entering the store. Also, if you can't take pictures inside or outside of the store, they should have some sort of signage that says as much. The employee left a real bad taste in my mouth. It was not said very nicely. There's nothing like making someone feel welcomed to your store like making them feel like a criminal. I obviously decided not to go in after the "warm welcome." I was going around and taking pictures or the mall now-a-days and Apple was the only one who took issue for it. Also, I'm pretty sure that the last time I checked taking a picture can't be illegal. After doing some research about the Apple Watch series 8 online I made an online appointment to come into the store and have a 1 on 1 meeting with a specialist about the product. Upon arriving at the store I check in and it took about 5 minutes for a specialist to come and see us. He didn't explain the product to much in detail so I'm glad I watch some tech YouTuber explain the watch in detail before coming. I kind of already knew what I wanted and they had in stock so I bought it right then and there. When I returned, a representative had my phone in their hand and asked if I had ever had the phone service before. She proceeded to tell me the screws on the bottom of the phone were stripped. Well, that phone has never been serviced in the past, and it was not brought into the store with stripped screws. The options given to me was to purchase a new phone for over $500 - I was also told it would have been no charge if I had only purchased the Apple Care. This phone was bnought with a case and was never without a case. It has never been serviced in the past. Stay away, unless you want to be upsold. My phone had 78% battery and I was only looking to extend the life a little by buying a new battery. I should have read the reviews. Bad people. read more

The associate went to the back and said they didn't have it. I was bummed. I showed that they had it online though. He just shrugged. I walked out and came back again. I confronted the associate and said it does show that I can order it online and pick it up that very night. If I have to do it, then I would. He went back to check again. Well, they suddenly had the cable - "tucked away in a corner". I got what I needed, but I wasted a ridiculous amount of time to get it. I wanted to share my recent experience at this store. I arrived at 10 AM when you opened, but unfortunately, I ended up leaving two hours later at 12 PM. The associate who was helping me in the beginning seemed WAY too busy with two more other customers and was trying to add more, which caused delays. I even asked a few other employees for help, but they told me to wait. Finally, I came across someone who was available, and they were able to assist me quickly, getting me out in less than 20 minutes. I came in with what should have been a straightforward question, but instead of assisting me, they misunderstood the situation and made fun of me right to my face. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. It feels like this store has become something of a boys' club for the staff. They seem far more interested in chatting among themselves than actually helping the customers who walk in. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service is shocking. Aren't they supposed to be experts? Not only were they weirdly unknowledgable, but they clearly had little to no interest in providing assistance or even basic courtesy. The retail experience at Apple has fallen a long way, but this store is, without a doubt, the worst of the bunch. If you expect to be treated with respect or receive any sort of help, avoid the Montgomery Mall location at all costs. If you have a real problem call customer support. Everything inside the store is very nice and hip - folks can write long romantic novels on that. What is very underwhelming and the cause for my 1 star is the entire shopping experience. This is NOT the first store to be busy and popular in the history of retail shopping. And this is NOT the only store experiencing long lines given the current situation of social distancing and covid restrictions. But this is MOST DEFINITELY the ONLY store that makes spending gobs and gobs of money such a PAINFUL experience! I get that all apple products (Even the mediocre ones) are God's gift to humanity, by way of Cupertino. But do we really need to make it such so inconvenient and painful to get our hands on them? First, you must buy the product online. Then why have sales people in the store? Just have a pickup window here. Then you must make an appointment for almost everything you want to do in the store. Next you must get in line to enter the store, even though you made an appointment in step 2 above. Then you are told by the greeter that they will hook you up with the next available agent of God (Apple employee). Then you wait some more. Then you finally meet the store employee (or whatever cool name they may have). Then you explain to them your reason for the visit and wait for their cold response and robotic actions. Then hopefully you are done. And then your life changes, coz you now have a new Apple product! And giving up (more) than 1 paycheck, and hours of your time, and a few extra wrinkles when you waited in line, you finally have a feeling that this has been worth it! read more

I'd give negative stars if I could. I made an appointment and took my MacBook to the store for a battery replacement. The associate at the store wanted me to leave the computer with them for two days, "because there is a queue." I asked how long it would take to switch out the battery and he said he could do it in about 3 minutes. I asked if I could schedule a time to return and have them do the work immediately. I was told by the associate and the manager that "that's not how we do it." I inquired if their business model was to deprive their customers of their product for two days in order to do a 3 minute job. The manager couldn't have been less concerned. They have a greeter at the front of the store who stops people to guide customers that come in, which naturally encourages one to wait until he is done with the person in front of you. Most of the staff was standing around chatting with each other. The manager Gordon is extremely rude and dismissive. This Apple store takes the cake for worst customer service not just of Apple stores but anywhere. I've been here 5 times this month because no matter what you come in for it will never be just one trip. Each time I came in I have to interrupt a group of workers having a conversation just to be checked in. Half of the workers here are just standing around on their phones or are having conversations with each other. Not sure what they get paid for or how they haven't gotten fired yet. Half the staff has serious attitude issues. What ticked me off more than anything else is when I came in for a phone repair (I had cracked the back of my iPhone XR). They are incapable of doing the repair in house and just end up giving you a new phone instead. *After waiting an hour they end up telling me that they don't have my phone in stock. And I have to come back in a week when they will have it in stock. Why couldn't they have told me when I checked in an hour before! They sell phones how can you just be out of the latest phone?! What a complete waste of time. The whole process at the apple stores makes no sense. The fact that it takes an hour to be seen to just buy something is unreal. After checking in, we waited for another 5 also minutes on some lower cubes.
