    05.25.21 - Cobb Salad

I'll be honest, I wasn't completely sure about this place based on the reviews, but as the saying goes "don't knock it till you try it." The service is a bit slower than your average restaurant, but that's just the norm in a small town. However, the people here are nice and friendly. I was really in the mood for a good salad and so I decided on the cobb because you can't go wrong with a cobb. Well, I must say, the house dressing was awesome and the portion was huge and hearty. Definitely a meal I needed after eating so many carbs. Overall, a good restaurant for the food, but if you're short on time I would skip.

Passing thru from California and decided to stop in this little town and try the restaurant. Service was friendly, excellent and they cooked it just as ordered. Patties are hand pressed and delicious no complaints here!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a nice diner feel without going too far. The food is very tasty, pretty standard diner fair. The staff is medium. They are nice, friendly, helpful, and reasonable fast and attentive. The only real complaints I had was that my burger came with a raw onion instead of cooked, which would have been okay except that the onion was huge, so it was a little overwhelming, and overpowering. And the fries were all stiff, which some people prefer but it isn't my thing. Otherwise though, it was great for a stop. And the best thing was the coffee! I really enjoyed the coffee here. I mean it's just perfect, not too bitter but you still actually have the coffee flavor. I would come back just for the Joe.

Great service and normal prices for this economy. Nice atmosphere easy access to the I5. The booths need a little covering.

Finally, with friends visiting from Washington, we made a special trip up to Reedsport, just to try it out. Best dining experience for a long time, for each of us! We called in for reservations, and the host nabbed us a table by the window, with an incredible view out across the bay. Upon arrival, Ron greeted us like we were family, and promptly offered us a tour of this very unique facility. The remains of a retired Coast Guard cutter, the entry way brings you into what looks to be a steel galleyway. Portholes peek through to the bar area and dining rooms. Up top, guests can reserve a private dining room, built from the original Bridge Cabin of the ship! Ron's original artwork adorned the walls of the place, and were quite unique - definitely adds to the decor. We sat down with the menu, and were pleased with the excellent variety of items available. We started off with the Clams Portuguese appetizer, and all LOVED it! In my opinion, it could have included a few more wheels of the Linguica, but the flavor was perfect. The drinks menu was very inviting, but considering that we were all extending our Dry January tradition, opted to try them on another visit. For our main course, my partner ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Being an aficionado of this dish, and having her own special recipe herself, she really loved how the flavors blended. Our guests ordered the Spaghetti di Frutti di Mare, and the Shrimp Louis salad. Both were delicious! I requested the Huckleberry-glazed Salmon, and was delighted with the consistency. The turmeric rice side dish was fantastic as well. Our favorite item was the Flowerpot Bread - a dense, two-toned baked roll, with a crusty shell. Very nice for wiping out all the delicious sauce residue from our meals. The parking was just a minor challenge; it is shared with the restaurant next door, so we ended up parking in what seemed to be boat trailer spots. Fortunately, there were no boats coming or going that evening, but it could be dicey during salmon season. We will definitely be back soon, however, to try out some of the other excellent-looking menu items!

On the other had Thai peanut pasta which was not as described it was more like thick peanut rigatoni pasta with the same vegetables for the night and chicken stirred into not on top. the deserts that were ordered were pumpkin creme brulee and keylime pie both were not flavorful the pie tasted and had the texture of paste. This doesn't deter me from returning but just what not to order next visit.

I loved their smoked turkey sandwich & their Marionberry lemonade; I could probably eat that daily. The kids loved their pulled pork sandwich & hamburgers. They have friendly, great service each time we go. It's been impossible not to be a glutton here. I had cheesecake for dessert & a peanut butter pie to go. I told the waitress it was my daughters birthday, hoping they would do something special for her later. We ordered a few drinks and made our food order. It took about 20 minutes before we were served. I ordered the burger and fries. My hubby ordered the fish and chips and my daughter ordered the mac N cheese. Everything looked good, however, my fries were lacking warmth and my burger bun was stale. It was not soft and fresh. I ended up not eating the bun, but just the burger itself. My daughters mac N cheese wasn't as great as she expected either. It was bland and dry. Yes, it had cheese, but it was stringy and not creamy. My husband loved his fish and chips. Hot and fresh and looked amazing. I did have a bite and it did taste really good. Note taken: Do NOT order anything but the fish and chips. When we were finished a new waitress gave us our receipt and asked if we needed anything else. I wanted to tell her we needed more water, but we were ready to go. I wish they would have filled up the carafe of water "before" I was about to leave. And..on top of that...no birthday surprise for my daughter. Some places sing a song or give a small dessert.
