The pickle that came with it was that old-school deli pickle, and it also came with a bag of chips. Staff was friendly and the food came out quick. No TVs, the place was clean and bright, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Great place to stop in if you're on the road.

There is a counter where you enter your order and sandwiches pay for your food. The menu is surprisingly extensive. They have both hot and cold sandwiches along with some hot entrées . I had a cold pastrami sandwich and it was very good. I liked it better than most supermarket sandwich counters and better than Subway sandwiches. My wife had a cup of Vegetable Barley Soup and Onion Rings. All in all, it was pretty good. It was far better than we expected. This is a good lesson where we should not judge a book by its cover.

It's got some 49ers vibes going on, so you've been warned (or welcomed, depending on your team colors). This is an old-school bar - started in the late 1800s - but it's packed with life. Lots of colorful, interesting locals, and just an all-around great group of people to share a drink with. Didn't try the food, so no comment there - but the atmosphere alone was worth the stop.
