I am glad the do the thanksgiving dinner as get a good meal and don't have to clean up as would at home. but the dinner was ok for 20 bucks it could have been better the turkey was ok ,the stuffing the onions were not done in it and had little flavor the meal consisted of turkey ,stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy,yams which tasted like they were f rom a can little flavor and a table spoon of canned peas and a small piece of pumpkin pie which was ok but not alot of flavor did think the meal was over priced however as i said was grateful to not have to clean up or cook the meal service as average read more

Likely the worst meal I've ever had. For a Saturday night it was dead. We were one of less than 6 people in the restaurant. As we were looking at the menu, two men got up from their table not eating their Prime Rib as they said they were barely warm and had asked if they were microwaved. We didn't hear a response. They walked out. Our salads were straight out of a bag, dry and not fresh. My steak was so dry, even for getting it medium rare, canned peas, disgusting. I walked in and the "hostess" hardly acknowledged me and quickly sat me down and left. It took forever for a beverage order and it took even longer for her to pour and iced tea. The menus smelled like an old wash cloth. I didn't even touch the iced tea and left. I didn't dare touch the food, especially after viewing the photos of their "fresh food" on Yelp. One word: Bleurg. Tired of driving, we pulled into the first place that we saw. This.Was.A.Mistake. Don't repeat it. There is a chain coffee place pretty much in the same parking lot. Go there, instead. It may not be great, but I can pretty well guarantee that it won't be worse. We were seated promptly. Then we sat. And sat. And sat. And sat. The place was not crowded; there were many empty tables around us. More than 10 minutes after we were seated -- just as we were getting ready to leave -- the waitress showed up with menus; when we said we didn't want coffee, she just walked away. And again we sat. And sat. And sat. And sat. Meanwhile she spent several minutes chatting with a couple (regulars, as she knew their names), took their order, AND BROUGHT IT TO THEM before returning to take our orders. A couple with their toddler were seated across from us, and they were telling us they had already been there for 1/2 an hour and still hadn't seen their meal order. We were fools to stay, that is clear. I can only plead exhaustion from the drive. The "food" appeared to have been manufactured off site; the bread on my sandwich was cold, yet it had a "toasted" appearance; spouse's sandwich allegedly had turkey in it somewhere -- might have required an electron microscope and DNA sample to find it. Wasn't expecting a lot when making my first visit here last summer. I am not normally a fan of Denny's type family restaurants, that have just about every dish under the sun on the menu. they're typically noisy, and have mediocre food, but The Apple peddler being a local owned establishment not a chain, I got the exact opposite. have been here around a doz times since I moved to the area, and only one time was my meal not perfectly prepared to my liking. I'm a Burger lover to the extreme - VERY picky about wellness, I do not like my meat well done, and its rare to find a place that say they will cook med rare, and and actually have it show up at your table that way. They do though lose a few points for mediocre frozen French fries. seen a number of other reviewers complain about service, ive never had slow or inattentive service here, and I almost always come in during the lunch rush -in fact several of the servers always stop and ask how we are doing even when im not sitting in their section. read more

My parents live in Sutherlin so I stop by The Apple Peddler every chance I get. I love the old diner, small town feel to it. Most of the servers and cooks have been there for years so I almost always get recognized when I'm there. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic! The breakfast can't be beat and you can get breakfast at anytime. My favorite lunch item is the chicken club. My husbands favorite is the prime rib and clam chowder. And you seriously have to see the desserts selection for yourself. If you love pie, they have you covered. Stopped by this cute diner right off i-5 in Roseburg, or. driving from Cali to wa. Really good diner food with a few extra goodies like home made candy, pies and cakes, Oregon souvenirs and even some good bathroom books. They serve everything; breakfast, seafood, full on dinners like fried chicken and meatloaf all very yummy and looked exactly like the pics on the menu. Place is decorated in this pink decor from the 80's but all brand new? And this place is so clean....really clean even there silk flowers everywhere were spotless not a pinch of dust. Our waitress Amber was really nice and attentive. Food was super fast considering how many customers were in there. Actually this is the perfect place to stop and rest if you are making this trip...the hotel that's in the same parking lot as the restaurant is well priced and comfy so you can sleep and get up and get a bite. read more

I've lived close to this restaurant for years. It's basically the only thing open if you want to sit down after 9 so that's nice. The menu is hit or miss. The servers have always been good and very nice. The triple decker club is probably the best thing I've had, but you might want to ask for easy butter because it's loaded. Chicken strips are frozen with the batter that's not very good. The breakfast French toast and waffles are both good. Ok to stop in a pinch but if you're looking for better quality go to Umpqua Lighthouse Bakery in the daytime. After 9-10 or so, personally I'd go with Sherri's in Roseburg. read more

Fist let me say that I appreciate that they are open 24 hours. In a small town where most things close at 10, this is very convenient. My waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately, that is about all I can say good about the place. We were given small water glasses, never asked if we wanted something else to drink (but the waters were filled frequently so that's something). During the 7pm dinner rush, there was 1 cook and 2 waitresses, all acting as host/busser as the need arose. They needed more people on the floor. The food was mediocre for the most part. One of my party had the fried pork chops - the meat had gone bad. The waitress offered to get her something else, but after tasting bad meat, you don't really want anything else. The pies (all but the "special") are frozen, not made in house, which is VERY disappointing. But the other desserts were pretty good. When the waitress took our order, it was a little abrupt, but I passed it off as nothing. I had ordered a bowl of soup and when it arrived she had been walking so fast that it had been slopping over the edges and when she set it down (fairly hard) it slopped over the edge of the bowl even more. She didn't acknowledge this at all. Just set our food down and left, never asking if we needed anything else. Not a good experience! I ordered the meatloaf dinner. The meatloaf was microwaved as the edges of the meatloaf were so hard, indicative of being microwaved too long. The mashed potatoes must have been of the frozen type because it was still cold in the middle and apparently not microwaved long enough. My clam chowder was good though. This place was pretty fantastic. I was a tad nervous at first. it's off the beaten path, there was no one in the huge restaurant, and the yelp reviews were fairly poor. We went anyway and were pleasantly surprised. The service was a little slow but we were in no rush either so. The food was delicious. We got burgers, patty melts, and omelettes that were all fresh and made to order. We also got two desserts that were pretty tasty as well. When I go in and she is working I know that not only will I receive the best service but I also know with out a doubt that my order will be prepared exactly how I want it to be. If you are choosing between the taco bell, mc donalds, and burger king off this secluded exit, you may be better going to apple peddler if you want to spend a few more dollars and want a bit of a rest before driving some more. I liked the food enough and the service was a-ok; however, the pie fruit filling is mostly sugar and little fruit. The burgers and fries will hit the spot, although my stomach was hurting the next morning (I knew I was going to pay for that grease bomb). It's right next to the Guesthouse Inn and open 24 hrs. My wife and I try an establishment about every 5 years if not happy with our dinning experience. This place was where we went on our first date. The burgers were decent 12 years ago, but we've tried actual dinners since then including last night 03-14-15 and the food was NOT good. It tasted like it had sat in the freezer too long. The salad and dinner roll were the best part. The steak was nearly a third pure fat. The waitress seemed to do her job though not friendly. For nearly a $45 dinner I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!! The moment my husband and I walked into The Apple Peddler, the color scheme blew me away. I loved the blue and pink everywhere, not only do they stay true to the "old diner spirit" in their decor choices, they also have delicoius food and intentional superb service. For example, after receiving attentive service from the hostess named Clara and the waitress Taralyn, we overheard two of the cooks in the kitchen saying "Oh look here comes Jim! Is booth 14 open?" The other cook responds "No, Gary and Elinor are in booth 14" They greeted Jim like family and sat him in a near by table until he could claim his throne. Love the creature of habit feel I get in this small town! My husband tried Eggs Benedict with Lobster in place of the Canadian Bacon. He was reluctant but very satisfied when he bit in. (I even enjoyed it and I do not eat shell fish) I had the BLT on wheat with a side salad both were great!
