    05.25.21 - Cobb Salad

I'll be honest, I wasn't completely sure about this place based on the reviews, but as the saying goes "don't knock it till you try it." The service is a bit slower than your average restaurant, but that's just the norm in a small town. However, the people here are nice and friendly. I was really in the mood for a good salad and so I decided on the cobb because you can't go wrong with a cobb. Well, I must say, the house dressing was awesome and the portion was huge and hearty. Definitely a meal I needed after eating so many carbs. Overall, a good restaurant for the food, but if you're short on time I would skip.

Passing thru from California and decided to stop in this little town and try the restaurant. Service was friendly, excellent and they cooked it just as ordered. Patties are hand pressed and delicious no complaints here!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a nice diner feel without going too far. The food is very tasty, pretty standard diner fair. The staff is medium. They are nice, friendly, helpful, and reasonable fast and attentive. The only real complaints I had was that my burger came with a raw onion instead of cooked, which would have been okay except that the onion was huge, so it was a little overwhelming, and overpowering. And the fries were all stiff, which some people prefer but it isn't my thing. Otherwise though, it was great for a stop. And the best thing was the coffee! I really enjoyed the coffee here. I mean it's just perfect, not too bitter but you still actually have the coffee flavor. I would come back just for the Joe.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way out of Oregon. I had the cfs with Biscuits and gravy. the Biscuits and Gravy were delicious and I should have ordered two of those and quit. The other stuff was fine, but the biscuits and gravy were so delicious! The kids liked their pancakes too. The pink décor was a hoot- my daughter loved it!

Good food and friendly staff! Only removed one star because they are busy and a bit slow at times and a little pricey.

Good food, good prices and good timing. Looks a bit mom and pop but that is okay when the good is good.

Finally, with friends visiting from Washington, we made a special trip up to Reedsport, just to try it out. Best dining experience for a long time, for each of us! We called in for reservations, and the host nabbed us a table by the window, with an incredible view out across the bay. Upon arrival, Ron greeted us like we were family, and promptly offered us a tour of this very unique facility. The remains of a retired Coast Guard cutter, the entry way brings you into what looks to be a steel galleyway. Portholes peek through to the bar area and dining rooms. Up top, guests can reserve a private dining room, built from the original Bridge Cabin of the ship! Ron's original artwork adorned the walls of the place, and were quite unique - definitely adds to the decor. We sat down with the menu, and were pleased with the excellent variety of items available. We started off with the Clams Portuguese appetizer, and all LOVED it! In my opinion, it could have included a few more wheels of the Linguica, but the flavor was perfect. The drinks menu was very inviting, but considering that we were all extending our Dry January tradition, opted to try them on another visit. For our main course, my partner ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Being an aficionado of this dish, and having her own special recipe herself, she really loved how the flavors blended. Our guests ordered the Spaghetti di Frutti di Mare, and the Shrimp Louis salad. Both were delicious! I requested the Huckleberry-glazed Salmon, and was delighted with the consistency. The turmeric rice side dish was fantastic as well. Our favorite item was the Flowerpot Bread - a dense, two-toned baked roll, with a crusty shell. Very nice for wiping out all the delicious sauce residue from our meals. The parking was just a minor challenge; it is shared with the restaurant next door, so we ended up parking in what seemed to be boat trailer spots. Fortunately, there were no boats coming or going that evening, but it could be dicey during salmon season. We will definitely be back soon, however, to try out some of the other excellent-looking menu items!

It was difficult for many guests to move between the tables. During our visit, I saw at least three older customers struggling to navigate the narrow aisles, and one woman on crutches had a particularly hard time getting through. Accessibility is definitely an area that could use some attention. The restrooms were also located outside and, unfortunately, were quite dingy and in need of a thorough cleaning. For lunch, we ordered the fish and chips special, crab cakes, and clam chowder. The clam chowder was the biggest disappointment-there was very little seafood and it was mostly potatoes. The crab cakes were also far too salty. I understand that crab cakes are often seasoned aggressively, but these crossed into territory that made them difficult to enjoy. The fish and chips ended up being the saving grace of the meal: crispy, flavorful, and easily the best dish we ordered. We also shared a kombucha, which was refreshing and paired nicely with lunch. Pricing was reasonable, but for me the food quality and execution didn't quite justify the reputation. Parking was also challenging, especially during the busy lunch rush. Overall, it was an average experience with a few bright spots, but there's definitely room for improvement
