I went to this location at ridgedale mall yesterday! First off I stood in the doorway assume they had a line ... while waiting to see if I can be help..(a couple employees just standing there looking at me ) after a couple mins I walked into the store found an Apple employee of course told him my problem he checked me in for an appointment... we agree to wait 45mins.. once it was my turn to be seen... my phone wouldn't stay on or keep it charge so the tech took my phone to the back... to have it "tested" I assumed mins later he comes out to tell me I have a bad non apple battery and that's the problem... "it would be cheaper if I got a whole new phone... I asked him how much for a new phone ... he tells me 329.00 without tax ... hmmmmm didn't sound right.. I left this store went to a cell phone repair store they did a diagnosis on my phone ... turns out it was my charger port NOT MY BATTERY!... smh (shaking my head) I thought "apple experts" knew it all... damn shame the guy just told me anything at the Apple store... read more

I lost my left AirPod. I called the store direct to ask if I could buy just 1. They yes - yes you can. I drove to the store and they told me I would have to wait for a genius to see if they had 1. I asked why? The said so they can look Up the serial number to See if they have 1. I gave the manager the number - he said "yep" we have 1. I said great, can I buy it? He said I would need to wait 1hr and 10 minutes for a genius. I tried to reason with him as to why this wasn't very good service considering I wasn't told this before I drove in. So, they have no process for unique customer circumstances. Meanwhile I hear 3 geniuses taking to each other about random stuff.. awesome! read more

BILL ("Genius" bar "helper") Rude, impatient, condescending and ultimately unhelpful. We made an appointment for the genius bar to help set up parental controls on my kids new iPhones. After my first question (how do I set up parental controls?) he took my iPhone out of my hand, went through settings and just did it for me. Did not show me how to do it myself, which is what I asked for. Then he impatiently told me he only has 15 minutes; he said I need to prioritize what I need done today. Told him my son's phone is getting my calls and texts - how do I fix that? Again, just went through my phone and adjusted settings. BTW, he didn't fix the issue. My son is still getting my texts and calls. I have three iPhones and two MacBooks. I needed to learn how to do a few things....did what I thought was correct....asked Apple for help. BILL at the Ridgedale Apple Store did nothing to help and furthermore went out of his way to make sure I knew I was an inconvenience to him. We left frustrated, with many unresolved issues. Please tell BILL we are sorry to have bothered him so much today. We will NEVER bother him again! I have faith that Apple can offer better customer service. But I would recommend making an appointment with someone other than BILL at the Ridgedale Apple store. read more

Apple sent me an email that basically said, "Our records show that you bought a macbook pro between these days, you have to bring your mac into the apple store immediately to get your drive serviced." I got here, they told me it would be one hour. I shopped around the mall for a while, then came back, they said it would be another hour. Now, I have been sitting here for three hours and they have not apologized for me waiting or anything. I paid Apple $1,400 for this computer that they messed up and I have to come in on my own time, wait for almost four hours! This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

THUMBS DOWN ON ONE TO ONE'S HERE!! I've had SO many awful experiences with One to One's at this store from day 1 that I NEVER want to deal with them again! They are generally rude, arrogant, belittling, robotic, and not as knowledgable as they probably should be. They gave me an incorrect resolution to an iphoto/imovie question that led to a halt with my non-profit. Different employees have given me conflicting resolutions for Mac problems. Their conflicting advice led me to quadruple ALL of my photos and videos until my memory was full. 2 guys laughed during a later appt. while telling me I had the "perfect storm" and I would have to manually delete all extras. It took me over 100 hours. I run a small non-profit that depends on videos in schools and this store's advice has halted my non-profit work which is in another country. I am always friendly with clerks, but the arrogance of many clerks here is amazing - I won't name names!! I was told I needed a new speaker, they replaced it, I then had them test the original and it worked perfectly! They weren't interested in putting the original back and the hassle was a lot for them! And me!!! The day I brought my MacBook home after purchase, the cd drive didn't work. They wouldn't replace it! They insisted on fixing it! They want to SELL here, and any One to One help following the sale seems to be the customer's problem. read more

Why enforce appoints if you do not intend to meet them? I understand the idea as a line, to keep the "genius bar" less cluttered and to allow customers to roam the store. However if "appointments" are made then they ought to be kept. I disappointingly waited 1 hour only to be told that they did not intend to support defective iPhone vibrate motors. I give two stars rather than one because they were very polite about telling me to wait indefinitely and that they would not support their products. HORRIBLE customer service. Genius bar? Seriously? Far from. Having to schedule an appointment in a store to receive customer service is one of the worst business practices I've seen. Not honoring the appointments after they're made is simply unacceptable. My entire experience with Apple, Apple products, Apple stores and Apple store employees has been terrible. I never should have moved off a pc. My Mac Book Pro does everything they claimed it wouldn't, both of my iPads lock up, sometimes won't launch videos or when the videos do play there is no sound. Time to move away from Apple and back to a more reliable solution. To the hipsters working there who felt they were too important to provide me any level of customer service, get over yourselves. Went to the apple store to buy a new charger for my iPhone. When I walked in I checked in with the person at the front. I told them I need to buy a new charger and they told me it would be a 45 minute wait just to check me out. He said they go in order that people come in so I had to wait for other people ahead of me that were getting tech help. I don't understand why they don't have a person that just checks people out. My wife and I walked in to check out the new iPhone Xs. We ended up talking with John and upgrading through the Apple Upgrade Program. John was super knowledgeable and a joy to work with. He answered all of our questions and spent the whole time with us even though they were busy, as it was a launch weekend. IDIOTS. I knew prior to my visit that the antenna on my phone was damaged as I had exhausted every other possibility. My phone is ALWAYS "Searching..." for service and never finds it. I had just gotten a brand new SIM card to make sure that wasn't the issue either. This Jordan guy didn't have any ideas of how to help me but by saying "you should probably restore your phone." Sure, no big deal. I backed up my phone, then restored it. Things were fine until I tried to restore the backed up version of my phone. There's no way this dude has ever seen this problem before because he would have known that it will now take DAYS to verify my Apple ID. (I have no service to receive a verification code from Apple) Not only do I now have a 4-5 month old mint iPhone 6S, I also have an iPhone that I was completely unable to back up due to Jordan WONDERFUL advice... My 17" Macbook Pro fell victim to the fabled discreet graphics card failure which got so much media attention last year. I didn't think it would happen to me, but my laptop randomly quit responding one night, and wouldn't reboot into recovery mode or OSX. After setting up a reservation at their Genius Bar on Apple's website, the next day I drove to the mall to have my laptop looked over by the Minnetonka Apple store. I was greeted by friendly and responsive staff who helped me right away, despite it being after 5PM and very busy. After being signed in I was quickly greeted by Suraj, who was very respectful and professional. He immediately got to work on diagnostics while I briefly went over the symptoms of my issues. After repeating the symptoms and confirming the problem with diagnostic tools, Suraj informed me that Apple developed a program to fix the affected laptops experiencing the issue, and they would service it at no cost to me. Even more surprising is that the turnaround time is only 3-5 days! Keep in mind that I purchased the laptop used and it was well past its warranty period. I don't know of another computer manufacturer who would treat their customers with so much respect (I was never spoken down to, nor was my intelligence insulted), and also go out of their way to repair a manufacturer defect years past the warranty limit. I think many companies would ignore the problem and hope it went away. I look forward to receiving my newly serviced Macbook! Hats off to you, Suraj & Apple in Minnetonka! I called to see about getting my battery replaced because of the class action lawsuit. After having 3 conversations with a computer, I was transferred to "Honesty". She first asked for my call back number in case we got disconnected. I stated that I believed I was eligible for the battery replacement and asked her where I might get the work done. She immediately 'disappeared'. No "hold please", no "I'll transfer you", just 'radio silence'. The call didn't end--she just left. I thought I would wait her out--after 10 minutes I hung up. I recently was vacationing in Minnesota when my computer broke. I was able to make an appointment at the store within a few hours and the staff was incredibly helpful. Not only did they find I had 2 days left on my warranty, they sent out my computer to get fixed, transferred everything on my computer to an external hard drive, explained everything they were doing...all for free. I would recommend any of the specialists there. Even though you pay a good amount for the products, they rarely break. And if they do, I have always found that the warranties cover everything and there's never been a problem. read more

Purchased my first Iphone approx. a year ago. Purchased two more and an ipad for other members of my family. My power button on the Iphone 4 started giving me trouble after 9 months and completely stopped functioning after 362 days. Finally found time to get to the Apple store this morning where I was informed that I was 11 days out of warranty. The "genius" informed me that all they could do is sell me a new one, or a used one for $149. I told her that it was under warranty when it began to fail. I told her that this is the 9th cell phone that I have owned and the first one that didn't serve me for more than 2 years without a malfunction. Had some issues with my iPhone 4 s after update for iOS 8 and had to wait for about three hours before someone could look at it. The guy by name Bill did reinstall action of my phone and something went wrong - he just killed my phone . Sounded like well sorry your phone is dead and it has nothing to do with me. I requested to talk to a supervisor I got another guy stalking care of me by name Keith . He was awesome . Thank you forgetting my phone back on track. Don't let Bill touch your phone . Never been more disappointed with Apple. In the past two years I have bought a new iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook and iPhone case. I also pay for Apple Music and iCloud storage. I have been a loyal customer and always been satisfied by its products. I bought my iPhone case because I was told it had a 1 year warranty - the person who sold it to me even said he had his replaced twice already! I was sold this case on the he promise that I could replace it if it is broken within a year. I spoke with the store manager and was told I couldn't replace my phone case because it had water damage and the warranty doesn't cover that. I understand why water damage wouldn't be covered under electronics... but a phone case? I feel as though Apple lied to me when I was originally sold this case. At the end of the day, what is a $50 case to apple to a customer who spends a couple thousand there over a few years. Very disappointed. read more

I was helped and greeted right away. Now granted I love apple products, always have had good success with them for the most part, but my iPhone mic was not working so I made a genius bar appointment. I did have to wait a little longer than was my scheduled time, but as any fool can see, this store is packed 5 times of any other retail store one would go to. I was pleased to even be seen at all, as I know of no other cell phone store where you can get any help at all, and get a replacement and be up and running the same day. I can't believe some people on here, this is tech support for free. I over heard a customer whining about not getting help with their work related app, that has nothing to do with apple. Think about it, you wouldn't go to a cub foods complaining about your toaster not working. And the tech guy was still trying to be helpful about it. I actually liked waiting so I could people watch, it's amazing how self absorbed and infantile people can be. When it came to my appointment she was so friendly and a good listener. First thing she asked is if I had my stuff backed up as I would have to have my phone replaced. I wasn't sure when the last time I backed up and she took a look, it appears iCloud was backing up my stuff and it would be no problem. 10 minutes later I had a new phone and my stuff was back on it. I know of no other place where this could happen. Name one. Glad I bought apple care! Some one on here complaining about dropping their product and it breaking and it wouldn't be covered under warranty. Are you kidding me?? I brought my son's ipad to the Ridgedale apple store today for cracked screen, met with Jordan the tech at the genius bar. Had to wait for 40min to see him just to tell me that the only option is to buy a new one. I agreed but have to come back for the purchase to bring my son with me so he can chose for himself. To this point I am still fine...so I ask if I can have them charge the broken screen one since our charger ripped and all chargers I have at home for (min-ipad/iphone) wont work for his ipad (requires a wider port). I was told NO that I can not charge his ipad in the store, the only way to do it would be to buy my own charger. I explained that would be a waste since I am coming back in 2 days to buy an ipad 2 and that charger (with bigger port) wont work with any of our devices. The tech replied " I don't have anything free for you today" How much electricity it would cost to charge an ipad that I have gotten from them?????. I also bought a mini ipad and 2 Macbook Pro computers and an iphone full price plus all the accessories for the ipads keyboards, covers...etc. So much for customer service/loyalty. But hey Ridgedale sorry for your loss, I am shopping elsewhere for my ipad air 2, apple watch and desktop. read more

Brought my laptop in because it was no longer working. Didn't have to wait at all (I did have an appointment set) and was treated with respect by someone who clearly knew what he was doing. They tried to extract the information on my computer, which required me to purchase an external hard drive, but they were unable to get that information as the hard drive was a lost cause. They then refunded me in full for the external hard drive since it was no longer necessary. I ended up paying $120 for a new battery and a new operating system. When I got my computer back, even though I lost all my info that wasn't backed up, it was essentially a new computer. I was very pleased with the communication and professionalism from everyone I encountered (I know one guy was named Matthew). read more

I have had better customer service from Comcast. Three visits and they didn't fix the phone. Their idea of customer service is to blame the user and then when shown that isn't it, to start telling you how much they "care". They didn't even document the second visit. When I showed up for a third time, they kept telling me "we aren't saying you weren't here a second time but...." I went to the Roseville store for a fourth try. They looked at the phone and the notes from my third visit. Ten minutes later, I had a working phone! She even apologized TWICE after reading the notes from the Ridgedale store. I went in on Saturday to have my cracked screen repaired. The person "helping" me told me I needed to come back on Sunday at twelve when the store opened so that I could be helped first. I went on Sunday(at 11:15) and the store had been opened for 15 minutes. It was already crowded and I was shocked because I was there, what I was told, 45 minutes early. So we talked to someone working there and waited an 1 hour and 45 minutes just to get my phone looked at and fixed. After that hour and forty five minutes, my phone was taken but since there was no machine to replace my screen, they gave me a new one. So I get home and, of course, have lost everything(apps, contacts, etc.) so I start redownloading everything. Then, I keep getting a message that says "SIM card not activated". I call sprint and they tell me how to activate my SIM card, which doesn't work because Apple messed up. Sprint said they are not supposed to put used SIM cards into new phones, but they did. I don't know if the Apple employee was lazy or just didn't know what he was doing, but either way, I now have a useless phone and will need to spend ANOTHER day at Apple trying to get this fixed.
