This is such a nice Apple Store. It's got 2 floors, the upstairs is essentially the Genius Bar. They also have a large screen with comfortable seating upstairs where I was told they do classes which I think is so great. The store has multiple devices of the same model so that at least 10 people can try the item out at once. I had gone for a Genius Bar appointment. Making the appointment the day before was very easy and they were there to help me within 5 minutes of my appointment. Chris was very patient and listened to my concerns about laptop migration. He helped me through all the different options and answered all my questions. It took awhile to figure everything out and he didn't rush me and listened to all my concerns. Overall, I had a great experience at this store.

I have been in this location in years. I think I bought my first iPod here back in 2005 or 06. In this case, I had a quick and super easy experience. I was here to purchase the Air Pod Headphones-- They were behind the counter but I had already listened to the sound quality at their Fifth Avenue location. I should have bought them there but I wanted to ponder about it. Nonetheless, the guy who helped me was great and very helpful. The store is very busy but the employees are very eager to assist you with whatever you need. I'd definitely say this is one of the best Apple locations.

Shout-out to Joshi who was extremely helpful with my questions about upgrading my iphone to a different model. I really appreciate the welcoming vibe here, and how knowledgeable and kind Joshi was. The excellent customer service is worth noting here. Thank you so much!

Located in a unique glass building. But the whole store is located underground. Shiny metal stairs along with trees and nature like feel. The store was one of the biggest Apple stores I've never been to. With all Apple products to choose from. Along with a lounge as well. Highly recommend.

The people at Apple SoHo care. When you walk into the store, someone greets you and asks if they can help. The people selling products are extremely knowledgeable and have great recommendations for consumer and business needs. There's also a business team whom follows up to help small and large organizations with specific needs. Last, I have had my fair share of broken or malfunctioning devices. The Genius Bar here is thorough, quick, and friendly. Remember that everyone there is human. No one controls the flow of people that come in, or those that schedule appointments. Be kind. Oh yeah -- before I forget -- the store has public restrooms which are on the first floor in the back right corner.

I just got this email message this morning! 05/28/23 More Apple work....

Apple Store in Soho is definitely a beautiful location and matches the atmosphere of the neighborhood to me. I don't think there's many Apple Stores I haven't visited. Right now I'm getting a little tired of the updates and quirky issues I'm having with my devices. It is almost a pleasure when they are so old they can't be updated! Today I received this email about My Photo Stream. I'm already trying to save everything. I'm very glad I've got a lot of photos in my apps. My daughter said she didn't get this email so I forwarded it to her. I'm attaching it to this review. If you're a Apple user you may need to prepare yourself! If you need help get some at this location. They're professional and friendly. Take another bite out of this big Apple!!

This place is very selective in who they want to service. Lack of service and professionalism. Save yourself the trouble in order online.

And even calling it a bookstore is misleading, because it also sells NYU shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and other NYU paraphernalia. Regarding computers, I have noticed that the prices are competitive with other retailers, and when I once purchased RAM for a computer, it was actually cheaper. You will probably get better prices online, but if you need something computer-related immediately, you should check this place out. Textbooks, however... Well, as my dad says, "that's how they get ya'!" They are way overpriced at any university. Unfortunately, the Barnes & Noble on 5th Avenue and 17th St., which used to have decent prices on textbooks, is no more. I loved going there as an undergrad and grad student and saving a few bucks. If you are a NYU student, you are probably stuck getting your textbooks here, unless you shop for them on Amazon or something. On the other hand, you can rent textbooks at this bookstore. I have never rented a textbook before, so I can't say anything about it. There is a regular bookstore, and the prices there are decent. They also sell classics at a discount for $3-$6. The clothing section is pretty good, and the prices aren't bad. Depending on what you get, items can vary from $15 (t-shirt) to $70 or so. They used to have a cafe, but unfortunately they closed it down. However, it is a nice place to visit, especially if you want to pick up an NYU shirt.

Variety of merchandise is pretty wide with DIY sections being rather useful and interesting. Aisles are clean and wide, well-lit. It's easy to reserve pieces of merchandise online in order to later pick them up at store. Mail-in freebies offers are nice, too. The Brooklyn location amenities include large parking space and restrooms. There is no loud, crappy music blasted into your ears. Thank you for that! I tend to escape some establishments where music is loud and annoying. Too bad that the store has no seating spaces, since the location is quite spacious, and if you have time to spend there, you get tired. Definitely do your homework before visiting Micro Center, as that place is certainly intriguing, but your experience there is much better, if you know why you are there. If you decide to misbehave at that store somehow badly, then keep in mind that a New York City Department of Correction building is right next door :) .

I specifically came here after ordering a Web order of one of the two things they had - and then the following sequence of events happened. 1. My web order was not on the shelf, even though I had a confirmation email, they saw the confirmation email in their system, and then weren't able to find it after 10 minutes of searching. They then told me to go to the floor (no help, no direction on where to go) to go find what they lost 2. I am told to go to a sales representative on the floor. I tell him what I need, knowing that there is still one left in their inventory since I didn't buy them out with my Web order. He searches the generic name of the brother labels i'm looking for (literally "brother's label cartridge"), the results are very long, he doesn't go past the first page, and he tells me that they don't carry that here at all 3. I then show him the page on the website with the right name. He finally looks it up. he tells me it's an aisle seven and tells me to go there. 4. I go to aisle seven I search for another 10 minutes, no help from any staff at this point, and no cartridge to be found - neither the one I ordered online nor the one they had left in inventory. Look, I know mistakes happen, but there was a point of friction on every single step in this process. There was no accountability, no support when things went wrong, and no accommodation once the experience is wrapped up. I've had two negative and two neutral experiences. I've tried. I'm sorry. It feels a bit like a cousin of B&H with a slightly different personality and focus, but the same strong sense of expertise and professionalism. The store is large but not overwhelming, well-organized, and clearly oriented toward photography and content creation, though it also has dedicated sections for musical instruments and scuba gear that make the place feel unique. The scuba area is a little unexpected at first, but I suppose people who love gadgets and gear often overlap with that world as well. I honestly haven't purchased much here over the years aside from a few items, though I definitely bought a PlayStation controller here during COVID. A lot of the appeal for me was simply walking around, learning about new products, and talking with staff who actually know what they're discussing. You really get the sense that the employees are enthusiasts and specialists, not just salespeople. Their pricing also feels very competitive, with an emphasis on staying current and cutting-edge while still maintaining a "money well spent" mentality around sales and service. The atmosphere is calm and professional, and while the store is smaller than B&H or Abt, it's still an excellent size. If you're downtown or near Union Square, it's also much more convenient than heading all the way to the Penn Station area. Highly recommend for anyone into electronics, photography, audio gear, or just technology in general.
