My mother went for help to this Apple store. After waiting 1/2 hour for her appt...started late, she was greeted by a genius guy that was rude as soon as he walked up...an attitude that was oh geez I have an old lady! Well my mother might be a senior but she is sharp, smart, kind, and friendly ... and, she knows Apple products, has been buying them for decades. The genius bar man was horrendous to my Mom. He asked what was wrong and she was explaining the issue and he yelled at her to speak up. Dismissive, condescending, verbally abusive, and then just walked away from my mother saying he would not help her leaving her alone with no help. At first, being such a nice person, she asked his name...his response 'you don't need to know or worry about my name.' WHAT A JERK! He grabbed the computer from my mother while she was trying to explain what was not working. She said please let me explain and his response was I don't need your explanation. She said: 'This has happened before and she was able to fix the issue, but she need a little help and it should not to take long.' His response ... 'yeah, everyone says that.' After the genius guy walked away, and waiting another 1/2 hour my mother asked someone at Apple to find her someone that could help. Again, she waited. Finally, a woman came over and was quickly frustrated and this woman said this is not an Apple issue and too bad she could not help and no one would help me. My mother said ok. My mother (while still in the store) finally was able (after 5 minutes) to figure out the issue without Apple helping. FIRE THE GENIUS MAN AND WOMAN! DO NOT GO TO THIS APPLE, AND IF YOU ARE A SENIOR ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO. My mother was so upset while she was in the store she started crying, and thencame home crying. Evidently, it is difficult or impossible to reach an Apple Store by phone. Perhaps I will write a better review if get to one.

I've had a lot of hit and misses with Apple store experiences but my visit(s) with the team at this store was beyond amazing. Very long story, but the condensed version...I had ordered an iPhone X yesterday (11/25) for pickup at this store using the iPhone upgrade program, but when I got to the store there were complications and I had to return and rebuy the phone, from a very nice Fluvia. The transaction did not go through smoothly, so one of the managers, Matt, and another associate, Stoss (sp?) stayed well over an hour after the store had closed to try to help me with my phone transaction. Unfortunately, I did not end up with my iPhone yesterday. Because my account was locked and the store had closed for the day, it was suggested that I come back and try again tomorrow (11/26). I was annoyed that it was rainy, I had to drive all of the way to Marin just to buy a phone, but I was helped by another manager (did not get a name), greeted again by Fluvia, and Conrad. Conrad was AWESOME. He made sure that my phone was working, my backup was clear before I left the store and was so helpful and nice that it made me having to come back such a nice experience. I am so grateful for this CM Apple Store team and they ended up comping me a wireless Morphie charger bc of all of the trouble. I would hope that I don't have to go through this again, but in the event I do, I know I'm in good hands with the team at this store! read more

Went to Apple today with my brother and I have never been made more uncomfortable anywhere in my entire life. We were extremely racially profiled by multiple of their employees who were standing really close to us while we were trying on their new headphones and made our shopping experience super awkward. It's funny because we ended up spending over $1300 at your store anyways. I understand Apple stores have been targeted in the past for robberies but there are ways to not make your customers feel the way we felt today. Do better :)) read more

My older Macbook Pro (which serves me well with graphics I do at this moment) would not turn on after I left for couple days. Due to not being able to start it to run diagnostics, I decided to make an appointment in Corte Madera Apple store maybe they could help me. I was able to run the SMC reset eventually after trying for a while. I was able to start the computer for few seconds to see that the battery is completely dead and there is no battery to be found, which I guessed by the computer behaviour with blinking Sleep indicator light, that the computer had not have enough juice to wake up. But that also could mean something else, where I wanted to get the diagnostics from an Apple professional before I open my computer replacing only a battery. I met up with my "Genius Bar specialist" who immediately sort of sarcastically laughed at my computer, and said the Sleep indicator light is a bad sign, and that's for sure logic board (the problem is my logic board is only couple years old, and will last much longer) so I'm looking at him asking what does he mean, while watching him pretending to do a reset by pressing incorrect buttons to wake up the computer and telling me It's not working, as it's not turning on at all. In that point I'm looking at him, and telling him if he does the SMC reset correctly it will turn on for some slight time, he ignores me and unplugs the cables saying my computer is crap, while I turn to the computer do the SMC reset myself and my computer turns ON, and he's like "oh it's not working, just look at it, this is a bad sign! BUY A NEW COMPUTER!" and walks away. I had a moment of absolute annoyance how I got treated because I did not come in with a fancy new computer and possibly knew more than the *Wanna Be Tech Bro* who was only able to score a job in retail/customer service and was trying to trick me right in front of my eyes pretending he can't turn the computer on and arogangly telling me "buy new computer", haha! Good luck to you aging out Wanna Be Tech Bro, whoever you are at that store! PS: I fixed my computer at home myself in 15 mins., and there's nothing wrong with my logic board! read more

I am really disappointed with Apple, and this location drove me to write about it. A few weeks ago my I phone was picked from my pocket. I called Apple to see about getting the thing turned off, or to make it self destruct, or whatever they do to deter theft, but much to my surprise the customer service rep told me to get a police report and that Apple would replace the phone. Sounds crazy right? That's what I thought. So I called the police, an officer came and took my report and I was excited to get back on the phone with Apple to see about getting my new phone, which would be in my hand in a 3 business days, tops. After sitting on hold for 20 minutes the rep told me that Apple had no such policy of replacing stolen goods. Dejected, I headed to the Apple Store by Union Sq. to get a new phone. They were all out. No phone for several days... Then last week I went to the Corte Madera Apple Store and explained the situation to a lovely young man. He told me to bring the police report and that they would "take care of you." Now, where I come from that either means someone's going to screw you (literally or figuratively, depending on the hand language that goes along with it,) or they're going to whack you. So I asked, "Take care of me?" "Yes sir, just talk to a manager and we'll get it sorted out. We want you to be comfortable." Great, I thought. So I made the request for the police report, received it and marched back in yesterday, explained my story to the manager and she gave me a url to reset my I tunes password. That's it. Are they kidding themselves? I have the following Apple products, which i have purchased from this store: iPhone (4x), MacBook Pro (2x), iMac (1x), iPad (2x), Apple TV (2x). Here is a summary of what happened with some of these product in the last six years: - The free wifi in the Apple Store, does not reach Macy's. This is a real Hobson's Choice. We give you free wifi, but you have to be in or right near our store -like the benches outside. What happened to the word free? Is it redefined somewhere in the User Agreement we always accept without reading? - iPhone 4s refused to fully charge after 11 months, and they replaced it with a new one. They can do better. - iMac had a harddrive fail after 2 years and 8 months, as I leave it on 24/7. Under AppleCare it was fixed with in 2 very long days. They can do better. - When picking up my heavy iMac after warranty repair, I was appalled by how they treat their employees. The poor 220lbs guy had to carry my iMac 1/4 mile across the parking lot without the use of a roller. This is Marin, not Guatemala. - Why can they not design a keyboard that can tolerate a spill of a glass of sweet Austrian (G'day mate) dessert wine? - The Genius behind the bar, does not have an IQ near a genius level. In fact, when I told her I had lost all my iphone photos I took while in Ouagadougou, because I deleted them whilst thinking they were in the cloud and before checking my photo stream, she said: Where is that? Even though she looked Chinese and everyone knows the Chinese are exploiting every country in Africa and she should have known the capital of Burkina Faso. - After messing with the settings in my MacBook Pro, i was forced to call and make and appointment. The only available time slots were later the same day, or any other day in the following week. I had no choice but to take the earliest one. They ran diagnostics, and checked my advanced network settings, and resolved it. But it took 15 minutes! - Every visit I am burdened by an unusual check out procedure, where the associate whips out a version of the iPhone they refuse to sell us, slides my credit card, and the receipt goes directly to my email instantly. What happened to waiting in line for the cash register? I am so deprived of the normal purchase process, I don't get retail satisfaction here. - When I upgraded from iPhone 4s to 5, my schedule was ruined for the day. I had allotted 1.5 hours for the purchase, activation and transfer of data. But they ruined the whole day for me. Activation took place without even removing SIM cards. Because of the damn iCloud, all my mail, data, contacts were already loaded on the new phone with minutes. They checked me out with the unsatisfactory method mentioned before. I was left with 1:15 of nothing to do in the middle of my day. Time is money folks! I could have planned to use that time to be productive. Instead I was forced to sit down for mid-day beverage and relax. If Jobs was around this would not happen. - My original Apple TV (30GB hard drive) broke after many years. They were the least helpful. I had purchased that unit for $250, and instead of being able to repair it, I was shown the new Apple TV which does a lot more at $99. Then I sold my old Apple TV on eBay (where gamers refurbish them) for $70. If I want to spend $200 to repair my old Apple TV, that choice should be available. - After six years, our old MacBook (white) required a new battery. Instead of tossing it away, I was forced to keep it for a few more years as replacement batteries are sold on Amazon for $30 (thanks tot the Genius girl whispering it to my ears), and the I had to hand it down to my son. The damn thing keeps tricking us as it runs faster on Lion then it did with the original OS. This is no way to make sure we have the latest and best. Folks, everything is relative. It should be known, that I not only drank the Apple kool-aid a long time ago, I keep it well stocked in my pantry. I'm typing this on my 24" iMac, which I bought to replace my 20" iMac that my wife now uses. My 17" Macbook Pro sits next in my bag next to me, my wife just called me on the iPhone I bought her for Christmas, and one of my household's three iPods sits charging on the desk too. I should just change my name to iGary. So while most folks look for reasons to give five stars, I had to look for reasons NOT to give Apple and their retail store five. But, my experience in buying an iphone recently gave it a good try. Okay, so of all the Apple retail stores I've visited here and on the east coast, this one is actually pretty good. So one of their lost stars is a bit unfair - it's docked because of their parent company's ridiculous release of the iPhone 3G. I can't believe you didn't forsee the demand, and corporate really screwed the pooch on it's launch. It's FAR worse than I remember the 2G launch being. But the store itself loses a star to boot. Allow me to elaborate... I headed down there on the Monday after the launch, figuring the hype would have died down a little (Hah!) and that a suburban store wouldn't be getting the pummelling that the Stoneridge or Stockton Street stores were enduring. The line wasn't too bad, I was told the wait for me would be about 30 minutes. Awesome!!! After standing in line for 30 minutes, three people had gone in. I asked the young lad patrolling the line what the story was, and how long it was going to be before I could get in. "Uhh, probably about 30 minutes. What model are you getting?" I felt bad - he was frazzled, and you could tell it had been a loooong weekend for him. "Man, that sucks!" I replied. "But I guess I've waited this long, I'm snagging a black 16gb." "Oh. Um, we sold out of those before lunch." "You mean I've been standing in line for a half hour for no reason?" The guy four places ahead of me overhears this. "You're sold out of the 16gb?!?! You think you might want to have let people know this?!?!" Everyone in line hears this, and about half the people, including me, grumpily stomp off. Fast forward to Wednesday last. "Word on the street" said that the store had gotten a fresh shipment in, but the website was still showing they were sold out. Perfect time to strike! Not so fast, baldy. When I got there, the line was even longer than last time, and I was informed that my wait would be 45 minutes. 20 minutes in, the line had not moved. At all. The banter in line was cordial. People stepped out to get coffee, and were allowed to retake their place when they got back. I decided to poke my head in the store, and see what the story was. "Can I help you sir?" said a middle aged female employee with a tshirt that was a size too small, and a smile that would curdle milk. "Uhh, been standing in line, we haven't moved, a few of us back there were wondering what was up?" "There are two lines. This one for the iPhone, and this one for non-iPhone customers. Please return to your place in line." So I got back in line. And waited. And waited. After two hours, I got in. And once inside, the process went smoothly, and the guy I dealt with was great. But aside from Tom (I'm guessing a manager or supervisor of some sort, who tried to keep folks in line appraised of stock levels) the people they sent outside seemed to be not that bright. And that chubby schoolteacher-esque woman they had on the door made me want to punch her every time I saw her (should be noted that others in line felt the same way.) The kicker for me though was the way they treated a younger kid in line ahead of me - he stood for 3 hours, but they wouldn't let him in without his dad (the AT&T contract was in his name, apparently) and they refused to even put a phone aside for him, even though all of us in line asked them to. But hey, I got my black 16gb, I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. Ooh, is that Apple kool-aid...? read more

This is a good store, but I'm not gonna lie - it's a bit intimidating. First off, there are more Apple employees there than customers. So when you walk in the door, you're immediately flanked by two-three salespeople. You almost feel like you're walking in to a new car lot. On this particular day, I just came in to get a new laptop adaptor and iPhone charger (both of which my puppy recently chewed to pieces). Before I knew it, the first salesperson who greeted me at the door passed me on to another zealous salesperson who started asking me a bunch of questions about the type of devices I owned (and, of course, i didn't have the answers they were looking for). Fortunately, we finally figured it out and found the chords I was looking for. Those two seemingly innocuous chords were going to cost me over $100! And before I could even explore my pricing options, the salesperson whipped out one of those portable payment machines and swiped my credit card. Don't worry, she assured me, your receipt will be emailed to you. Wow - I guess this shopping in the modern Apple age. I would've stayed longer to peruse the other Apple gizmos, but truth be told, I couldn't wait to get out of the crowded store. The whole experience was just so intense. I felt like I was shopping at Christmas time. In any case, if you're an Apple aficionado, then this is definitely the store for you. If you're looking for more affordable devices like phone rechargers or headphones, you might feel more comfortable at a Best Buy (or hell, even a CVS Drug Store). On a more positive note, the Apple Store offers free computer/device tutorials in their store (if you book in advance). And I know that their Genius Bar has saved my mother a lot of strife with her laptop and iPad. So I will always be grateful to them for that. : ) read more

You know how people say "when you have a bad experience you tell 20 people, but when you have a good experience you only tell 10 people"... Well guess what, THIS WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE. (First off, I have to say after my bad experience with the first so-called Genius, it was Fantastic. They ultimately resolved my issue after a complaint to the store manager, but everything is perfect now.) Let's start off by saying, my boyfriend and I troubleshooted this problem at home. We are not computer illiterate so we know how to run a few diagnostic tests before making an appointment at this local Apple store. When we got there we waited the normal 5 minutes which was not a problem, but when we got to the "Genius" we were stunned at her incompetence. I have to say, I always (always) back up my reasoning for calling someone incompetent. For example: She could not boot my computer: she took out the battery and tried to boot the computer. Great! But no battery, so obviously no boot. She plugs a power cord in and HOLDS DOWN the power button in which she calls it a "force boot" (side note: I've never heard of that before so I ran with it). This did not start my computer. Now, we didn't go into the apple store with a computer that did not boot. We went into the apple store with a computer that wasn't showing anything on the monitor. Even that morning I was able to get a "chime". Which she was unable to do. I even showed her what I did in the morning to get a chime and Guess what? I received 3 times in a row just to let her know that "hey the computer is running", but she didn't believe me. After a few minutes more of her trying to restart my computer after I had just restarted it, she says "its going to cost you $300 something dollars to send it off to fix because it's the logic board". My boyfriend and I look at each other and we're thinking the same exact thing.... how is it the logic board when you can't restart my computer? In the end she tells us "well I do this for a living so do you want my help or not?" Why would we want your help after this? It was a horrible experience. She had no idea what she was doing. It really really amazed us. For something that should have taken 15-20 minutes with one Genius helping us. It took us 1.5-2 hrs 2 Geniuses and a store Manager. read more

Know what you want before you go to that store or you will be waiting forever and ever. Don't bother to have one of those apple "specialist" to help you! why? it is because they think they are the SH^%! they think they work for apple and therefore they are better than you and they know more than you and they are not there to help you but to show you how good they are by acting like they own Apple! but sadly they make no more than those workers who stands on the street looking for work everyday in San Rafael. They need to improve their work attitude, they are there to help customers not standing there chat among themselves and throw their iphones up and down in the air while talking to you and PLEASE PLEASE don't talk and act like a teenager! Don't call me dude! don't tell me this new iphone is sick! don't tell me it's your lunch time and you gotta hand me over to someone else cos you have to bounce! WTF! 3 different times when I walked in I see like 3 or 4 of them talking and chatting and no one came up to me asking me if I needed any help. I had to keep looking at them in order for them to help me, one time I think i made one female employee uncomfortable thinking maybe I was trying to hitting on her... anyway I know customers in Marin are hard to please especially with those bitchy attitudes they have towards store clerks because they think they are better and have money, however employees in this apple have found a way to counter that, oh well because if you think you own apple (and believe me , some of them do think like that in this store), and you have tim and seve on your side, you don't care anyway because you are the king of the world right? Overall, my tips, know what you want before you go in, study the product you want to buy online before you go, always look for older looking employee there, they might not know much about the product but at least they are more willing to help than those "teens" there. read more

My iPhone 6 screen cracked for the second time, one day after I had the screen repaired. I couldn't bear to spend another $109 dollars one day later, but as I'm getting ready for a trip, I decided I'd better fix it. Made an appointment at the Apple Store in Corte Madera but went to the wrong mall - there are two, one on each side of the highway. So I was 15 minutes late for my appointment and I was totally hosed. The guy who checked me in said he'd try to slip me in with one of his techs, but he went on break, and after standing around the Genius table for 30 minutes, a manager asked me what I was waiting for, and I wasn't even in the cue. My appointment was canceled - go to the back of the line. So she told me to walk around the mall for an hour. "Does that work for you?" No it does not. Here I am one hour and 45 minutes still waiting to see someone. Oh great - they want $299 to replace a warped phone because changing the screen on a bent phone is pointless. So why did my phone warp anyhow? I have owned an iPhone 3, 4, 5 and now an IPhone 6. I've never cracked a screen before. Now I've done it twice. Besides being slick and hard to grip, the screen is very prone to breakage. After becoming visibly, make that remarkably unhappy, and almost having a tantrum, the store manager gave the okay to replace my phone for the cost of repairing the screen, which is $109. A workable compromise. It would be hard to find a more dedicated Apple customer than I. But still, my IPhone 6 (as nice as it is when it's intact) has been the worst experience as an Apple customer in 30 years. My advice: Get yourself a really beefy case. And don't be late for your appointment! read more

I've had hit and miss experiences at this store in recent years but now...geesh. The guy assigned to assist me was more concerned with a 10 min time limit than actually resolving the problem. He seemed to run on "cup half empty" with everything too, which didn't help problem solving. Since I had passed my 10 min mark, I asked to work with someone else, which he was fine with because he wanted to work with other people on his list vs resolve my apple issue. After sitting there for a long while I asked an employee how long it would be. That person was unprofessional, I'll leave it at that. The guy who finally resolved the issue was great but I had to experience the prior junk for before getting there. Apple, what gives? When I first went to your store, your tech people were off the charts helpful and brilliant. Now it's a crapshoot. Where can I send the memo to for this to be fixed? read more

There is a reason why this is the worst rated apple store in the area. They are horrendous and their managers are a total joke. Making an appointment here is meaningless. Regardless of your appointment time, you will get to stand around for 30 minutes before you check in. At that point you will speak to a clueless employee who only cares about charging you as much as possible for your repair. This store will sell you a defective product and then charge you outrageous prices to fix it. If you ask to speak with a manager, they will offer to cancel your appointment. How is that helpful? The manager was completely worthless. Does not give a damn about customer satisfaction or repeat business. I will be reporting this issue to the corporate offices and Better Business Bureau. read more

I went in to this Apple store the first time because my 4-month old MacBook pro would not turn on or charge. Kevin, at the genius bar, got it to turn on again and ran diagnostic tests that said nothing was wrong. Apparently it was just a fluke that the laptop stopped working. I got home, turned on the MacBook and it shut off after about 30 seconds, each time I tried turning it on. Kevin failed to inform me that my hard drive had crashed. I took the laptop in AGAIN and Riley told me that I needed to get ahold of another Mac, my external hard drive, and then transfer everything over myself without telling me how to do it. He sent me off with a kind of "good luck" attitude. Both of these gentlemen did not do all that they could to help me, especially Kevin who said I was good to go and failed to mention that the hard drive was shot. I am extremely disappointed in their service and intend to file a formal complaint. Do not go to this Apple store if you want your products to be fixed. read more

Hey they fixed my problem. 45 minutes turned in to 75 for no reason apparently. Had to check in multiple times and then was told to stand in an area where I waited 15 - 20 minutes for the guy who took my phone an hour before to ask what I needed. Way too many employees standing around offering negatory help. Even if that's your business model to have the sales people grabassin up front while the limited techies service the majority of the people in the store...it leaves a shįt impression. read more

After 2 trips to Apple to diagnose my Iphone, and 2 more trips to try to replace it, i have to 'yelp'. Each time I walked in, I was "helped" by various individuals who were 1) not helpful 2) smug condescending know-it-alls. I have to assume this is some kind of corporate culture because everyone seemed to have the same superior attitude. Dont go in with a malfunctioning item if you don't have an appt, and be prepared to wait even if you do. When I did go back at my appt time, I still waited 20 min, then was told to "go get some tea or something" for 20 min. Total time 90 min. I was told my phone was dead and would I like an upgrade? I replaced my phone elsewhere and I hope to never have to set foot in that Apple store again. read more

The new store is a not a store, it's a chaotic mess. Literally (1) ONE of each Macbook and iMac on a table. The same tables that the Geniuses and others use to help with service needs. No one has any idea who needs help with what...are you buying something or dropping off? As I told my wife, once we are in the store, we can literally stand here forever and no one will ask if we need help. Oh...and out of the corner of my I saw one of the sales people touch my 10 year old daughter on her head. She ran to us and I confronted the sales person who had a bemused "what wrong with that" smile. I WILL NEVER shop the Corte Madera store AGAIN. read more

The Corte Madera Apple Store is NOT the place for "Apple Service". If your Apple product is not working they just don't care. It is your fault and not theirs. I have never seen such contemptuous, condescending people claiming to be "Genius" Customer Service. They are anything but. "Genius". They have an appointment system in place for their convenience and run it in militaristic form without any though towards the fact that it is people who they are assisting. However, if you are buying an Apple product, they will go out of their way to take your money, If you do need service, call 1-800-MY-APPLE and they will assist you quite well. They are also a great place to buy the Apple products from and will ship them to you. read more

The manager at this Apple store treated good customers like crooks and told us to leave the store!! My partner and I went in to the Apple store today for an issue with my MacBook and a problem with the speaker on his iphone. My issue was resolved and after speaking with him they told us to come back in an hour while they repaired the phone. After an hour we returned and they kept us waiting another 15 or so minutes. When the manager returned he told us he wouldn't be able to repair the phone because it had a "3rd party display". We told him that was impossible because he bought it there in July and never had taken it to be repaired. If it had a 3rd party display, they must have sold it to him that way. The only other possibility is that someone bought the phone, changed this display, returned it and the Apple resold it to us. Of course, they would never admit this, it's easier to call us liars. He was adamant that my boyfriend had changed the display. There was nothing we could do to convince him. After we tried to convince him he was mistaken, he told us he couldn't help us and to "leave the store"!!! In 2015, I had decided to make the switch from Android and Microsoft to Apple. I bought a MacBook and in October an iphone which was $1,000. My boyfriend has a similar story. So we are loyal and good customers. And to challenge our integrity!! It was awful and we are stuck with a new phone that doesn't work. Now I am worried that they sold me a compromised phone too. We really don't know what to do. I thought to call the police. I will file a report with the consumer protection agency. If anyone has a similar experience or knows what to do, please message me. A couple of days ago I doused my Mac with coffee. I'd hoped they'd have an emergency protocol: maybe open the back, disconnect the battery, blow out the moisture with nitrogen or something. They made no effort to save my Mac and instead suggested I pay $1250 to rebuild it. It's not their fault I spilled coffee on my computer. But they could act as if my financial pain were of some concern to them. Fortunately, I called support. Montana was very helpful. Alex was great too. It's all working great now. I wanted to see what you really get in an iPhone 4, so I walked into the Apple Store three days before Christmas and found wall-to-wall people -- a high-priced phone-booth stuffing event. I saw an official looking woman person with an iPad -- I approached her and said the password: "I want to buy an iPhone 4 today." She gave me the counter-sign, "Wait by that corner of the table and someone will come to you in three minutes." And someone did. I liked what he showed me. Bought one. Pathetic. I brought in my iPad mini cause it was randomly zooming in and out and opening apps that I didn't even have. The tech had not a clue, said he never heard of that problem, even though there's a lot of other people experiencing the same thing (via the Internet). it was a waste of time. I had an appointment and had to wait 20 minutes and the guy who finally helped me decided to help someone else in the middle of working with me. I waited an hour and he finally erased all my files and rebooted it and sent me on my way. Nothing was fixed. I love apple products and always had good experiences with tech support. The Corte Madera Apple Store is my go to Apple store even though the Berkeley and Emeryville locations are closer. I gave up on the Emeryville location years ago as it is in the "dead mall" (built on sacred Ohlone shell mounds) and has too many "roll their eyes" employees who treat people like morons (hope they've improved ). The Berkeley store is too popular and it takes over a week to get an appointment with the Genius Bar. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. I've been looking up reasons online why my Mac Air has been having some issues-- mainly the date and hour going bonkers. The answers suggested possible problems with the Pram or battery. I made an appointment last night and got one for today in the late afternoon. When we walked into the store it was a complete mob scene. It was a controlled kind of chaos though. A staffer asked me what I needed then walked me over to the staffer who would sign me. This was very helpful since I would never have located this person on my own. Right on time "Aaron" (? not sure if I heard it correctly). He was very polite and friendly and treated me like a human being. He reset the pram and showed me how to check on the battery usage. A simple enough process but 'over my head." I love that the people at the CM store are always respectful and helpful even though some of them appear to be younger than my water heater and 100 X smarter than me. Aaron also answered some questions Mr Rinky had about his iPad. btw this is one out of 6 or 7 visits to the CM store since my 4/09 review. Love this store! read more

This'll be the last time that I come to this store. Ever. The people that work here are slow & non-responsive, and when things break and you're phone-less, unable to reach out to the world, & stuck they can't wrap their heads around the fact that you can't call anyone because your phone is broken. This Apple store unnecessarily took a pound of flesh from me today. I didn't have much choice. You see my phone stopped charging last night and I had a 10am meeting in SF. So I hop in my car and arrive at their front door at 8:55am. Well I had an iphone 6- perfect condition, no cracks no scrapes. But as some of you can attest- it seems that each software update (ie. Older than 6S) adds more glitches. My worst glitch is that the phone would squelch at random times through the speaker. It would just make a loud radio sound- no matter if the phone was on silent. This can be embarrassing in meetings, dinners, movies, well really all the time. But that's another problem- not the one that was immediately impacting my life. I needed a working phone and one fast. Maybe my phone just needed to be cleaned? I wasn't one to say. Well upon my arrival- the apple guy tells me that they can replace my phone. I thought "this will be a while" but I appreciate them addressing this issue (phone not charging). Upon further investigation another apple guy said that the pins inside the charger port were damaged? I didn't know my phone has pins- but ok what does this mean. Well I guess it means that I get charged full retail price to replace it... Ouch. Upon this uncomfortable decision I asked about the squelching sound... His response- "well, being that I can't charge your phone- I can't confirm that" Ouch- but I guess he had a point. So- I'm not a big fan of apple right now. I wasn't looking for a new phone, but they charged me $399 plus tax to replace it. read more

Beware of the up selling on repairs here.... I had a MacBook Pro which I had a coffee spill on. The machine did the requisite 3 beeps indicating an issue with the RAM chips. After reseating the RAM did no good I ordered the 16Gb chips for $70. As it was a crucial business machine I went to the store to see what they thought it would take to repair it. The kid who saw me, took it into the back for 3 minutes are returned basically saying it would be a multi component repair, costing circa $775. I decided to try my $70 fix with new RAM, which, guess what, worked! I believe the word is to do a quick inspection and offer to replace all regardless of what the issue is. It's a bit like auto shops 20 years ago, where they charged for work they never did. My recommendation is that you bring your broken machines to an independent computer repair shop.....I think you'll save money. read more

The customer service is pretty much 'just okay', it's what I expected, but with all the hype about the iphone 5, and how Apple stores in general are always packed, it's not the best vibe for a customer like me. For a store like this I guess I expected my sales experience to be a bit more personal. Not '"okay, you, go there - he'll help you". No smiles, no 'how are you doing today?". Is that a bit much? I don't know. And yeah, I finally broke down and got an iphone....4. The service I received seemed the bare minimal, not a very memorable, write home, kind of experience. The Corte Madera Apple Store has grown into a favorite, must stop whenever at this mall. The cool people have been promoted, the yuck yuck ones have moved on. The best kid corner lets mini-test drive software on the latest iMac systems. A very fresh location with very efficient staff. First gen iphone on the first day, and the time between standing in line and getting my phone and accessories was even shorter than our typical visits! Great holiday services as well! read more

this Apple store is smaller than other ones I have been in. It has been packed the last few times I was there. This weekend when I came in, despite it being a ZOO of people, I was assisted and made a purchase within 5 minutes. I appreciate how friendly the staff is as well as how many staff their are. I'm so disapponted with Apple! I've been a great customer and pretty much buy everything with an apple on it. You could call me a junky. I have paid $100 for a one to one card ever since they introduced it. Mine expired because of personal family reasons so today I went in to renew and found the only way this really good customer could have a card is to buy a new computer! If my card had not expired I could have renewed the service. I was never noticed of the change in policy. I'm not sure I will ever buy Apple product again.
