If you're an Apple user, then I believe you'll be happy with Apple's commitment to their customers. While I do understand that their location within a large mall can be difficult to get to, I don't believe that this is necessarily a discrediting factor. I have been there a number of times more often for many purchases. Initially, I call their sales line, they create a "bag" containing the items I want to purchase and I go to the store to pick up my purchase. Although they are very busy with customers, it's only a brief wait - sometimes only 10 minutes at most - and I'm greeted by a friendly associate. At this point, the associate remains with me throughout the whole process. He/she verifies my order, pulls the equipment,sets it up and ensures the data migration from the older device to the new one is successful. It's commendable that I'm never left alone despite the multitude of customers. Often, the associate remains with me even while handling other customers simultaneously. Their training is impeccable. I am compelled to recognize their commitment to the customer, their friendliness, their expertise, and won't leave the customer till all matters have been completed. Further, on one shopping occasion, because I'm disabled and have trouble walking, the associate advised a supervisor and obtained permission to walk and carry my order out of the Apple Store to my car outside the mall. The attentiveness to detail, the customer and ensuring your new purchase is working properly is always a certainty. All staff at the store are expertly trained, make recommendations and reflect the highest standards set by Apple. I wish I was able to provide more than five stars - they rate at least ten! read more

Rarely do I give a one-star review. And now that this whole saga is done and over with, I will tell it all here, in hopes that someone will learn from this and not do what I did. A few weeks ago, I noticed my phone was starting to lose its charge rather quickly. Upon further inspection, my iPhone 15 Pro was physically misshapen. To my dismay, the battery within the phone itself began to expand. The first available appointment I saw was at the Smith Haven mall location. Being that I needed my phone fixed right away. I wanted to take the first available appointment so here I am and they're telling me that they could fix my phone, but it's going to take pretty much the entire day. Being that I couldn't leave my phone all day there Friday, as I had to work for the whole day, including in the evening, I asked if I could come back the next day. They told me they would put the battery aside for me and that I could come first thing in the morning. Until this point, my interactions have been pleasant and pretty easy. I come back the next day, leave my phone for the repair, and hope for the best. What I got was actually the worst. The repair there did not work and they told me that since they did not have any iPhone 15 pros in-house, they would have to take my phone and send it in to exchange it for a new one. In the meantime, they would give me a loaner phone which turned out to be an iPhone 14 not pro and that I would have to wait for my other phone. When I ask how long this would take, they told me it would be about a week, but usually it takes less. I asked if I could pay pay for an upgraded phone and they told me no. I should mention that I was not going in cold, I have been paying into AppleCare for quite some time now with a lot of my devices. I was then told I had to walk to the T-Mobile in the mall to reactivate my phone as they could not do it for me. I was trying so hard not to be a Karen, but when I asked why this was the case and why I wasn't told that this could happen and that they didn't have any iPhone 15 pros in house, they told me that this was the best that they could do, but this was top-tier service, and that I should be grateful. I called back mid week checking the status of my phone, and needless to say I was not given an apology or any help whatsoever, they told me that since my phone was with AppleCare, they could not give me any information. I will say I'm not proud of my behavior on that call, but I was never treated with any empathy or sympathy. I just wanted a functional phone. Instead, I was given an old phone, which cannot handle any of the functions I needed for work, and I missed a bunch of messages from my son's school during the two weeks that I had this loaner phone. Yes, I had the phone for two weeks, and it was the roughest two weeks. I missed a bunch of messages, I couldn't get my email, I couldn't connect to any networks that I needed to, and overall, I realize how tough it was to live life without our mobile devices. I sent Hubs to pick up the phone. The kicker... they didn't send me a new phone. They repaired my old one. The phone that they couldn't repair in house. So moral the story, as if you have AppleCare just steal directly with them. Don't go to an Apple Store. I would even go further and say purchase directly online. I would never step foot in one of these stores ever again. read more

I recently purchased a very nice new Macbook from this location only for the trackpad to give out on me within months of use. I was upset but I knew I had to take it right back to these guys to get it fixed. Well I made my appointment and made my way over. Finding the perfect spot to park for the Apple store is a chore in itself so I just go in through the food court and walk over to it. I really do wish they had a proper store on the side of the mall with entry/exit to the outside but oh well. After finally getting to the store it was time to get an employee. This is the part that sucks the most. The associates here are allergic to you apparently because it was difficult finding one that actually wanted to help me. And when I finally do they look at me like I just inconvenienced them. Hospitality is at it's bare minimum here. As for the repair process it was fine and covered by the warranty as it should be. They held onto my Macbook for a few days and called to tell me it was ready for pickup. I'm happy to report that it's in working condition but I'm sad to report that I really don't like visiting the Apple store anymore after this debacle. read more

Terrible experience. Salesman right from the beginning had huge chip on his shoulder, an attitude and was useless in helping us buy a phone. And actually told us the SE is better than the 13 mini which it was not.. It was as if he didn't understand the process of buying a phone and registering it with Verizon. I would like to start with this location main mall entrance is in between an outdoor mall type area by Cheese Cake Factory. Trying to get an exact location to walk on at was very difficult by calling the apple store. We came here because I flew in from another state for my 74 year old mom to have heart valve replacement surgery. This is why I wanted to find the best entrance to walk into, without over exerting my mom. Corporate apple gets zero stars for their help here, and unfortunately there is no way to actually reach anyone at a store level. That being said we showed up and Dara helped us. She seemed new as she had to look up a few things which we were fine with as we wanted to be sure. Dara was a pleasure to work with and was extremely patient, kind, and eager to help. My mom had no idea what she wanted so Dara helped her try on both watch sizes, then helped her pick out the best strap that fit my mom and my mom felt comfortable with. Once we were set on a watch to purchase Dara went above and beyond to help us set up the phone, update moms iPhone, and showed her how to use all the main features we needed. Once you find the store (which proved to be the lost challenging) the manager and Dara really made up for the lack of empathy,help, or any service we received (or lack of) at all from the 1-800 my apple Highly recommend the store. A quick review of my experience with this store: (1) the salesperson did not know the price of the device, isn't that basic salesperson knowledge? (2) the salesperson initially gave us the wrong phone, but I didn't notice, thereafter, my end user noticed that it was the wrong phone, so we had to conduct a sales return, and when we tried to purchase a new phone, my credit card could not go through, so I had to use another card; (3) the salesperson seemed nonchalant and did not care much because he appears to have known that the products sell themselves. This is unacceptable - I could buy an iPhone at Costco or TMobile or elsewhere, there's no reason that the Apple Store isn't the best experience I could get; Addendum: I could not stand that the salesperson wore socks with sandals - it simply shows a lack of care. I don't think I'll ever understand why Apple doesn't hire more employees. Waiting 5 days for an appointment just to walk into the door really is unacceptable in this day and age. Instead of waiting that long we went as a walk-in and waited luckily about 30 min late on a Tuesday night. I don't remember our sales rep's name but he was clearly there just for the paycheck. My iPhone X died all of sudden two days prior, there was no water damage (which was confirmed) and there was no physical damage to it. Even though I did not have the extended Apple Care, it was a hardware issue caused by no fault of my own. The only option I got from this employee was to buy a replacement at over $500. Uh no way was that happening. We basically had a stare off for 10 min until the husband and I said we'll take it home and call Apple Support again the next day. Apple Support offered an express replacement free of charge, as long as the damage was confirmed as a hardware issue. Now why couldn't he do that there? Well, I never knew this Apple Store existed. My Iphone was dead to the world so I needed to buy a new one. I am not very tech savy so I didn't want to order a phone on line and do the transfer on my own. Soooo, off to Smith Haven. The mall is typical...over run by pre teens and teens. The stores are geared towards them. Apple Store is no different. Of course I didn't know that one needs an appointment, so I was a walk in. After waiting for an hour, watching security watching the shoppers, I was finally called. The sales person was extremely knowledgeable. He sold me what I wanted, tried to overload me a bit with extras but backed off when I politely told him I only wanted a simple black phone and not a bunch of bells and whistles. No need for a pink polka dot case and a yellow stripped phone...and what really is the difference between titanium and aluminum...and no I don't need Apple Care and this and that...blah blah blah. Anyway the sale was made, the phone info and all was transfered. Luckily I did have the transfer done at the store as there were some complications with double and triple Apple and T - Mobile passwords. The sales agent was great at the transfer. Great. That took about an hour, so I continued to entertain myself by staring at pregnant pre teen girls and their pre teen "boy friends". Anyway. 5 stars for this Apple Store. Thank you! read more

I normally love the Apple Store and have always had Apple products but my last encounter with them was not the greatest as I bought a new phone and needed to change the authorized person on my phone account (ok easy fix that takes a day) but it seems they didn't want to be bothered to help me once the authorized issue was resolved to help me get my data on my new phone as they were busy and wanted me to do this on my own. Let it be said, I'm an Apple fan girl :) I've always been more than happy with my experience at the Smithaven Apple Store. They are kind and courteous, talkative and knowledgeable. Making an appointment sometimes requires patience because they're often very very busy, but that's usually the toughest part of the experience... and the only reason I give them 4 instead of 5 stars. In all the years of owning many Apple devices I don't think I've ever once gone in for help and come away angry or even dissatisfied. They've never made me feel like an inconvenience. They always resolved my problem, whether it's software or hardware, and usually they exceed my expectations! I was even given a whole new computer once when all I was hoping for was a new hard drive. Apple knows how to do customer service correctly and this particular store follows suit perfectly. read more

This Apple store is overrun by hipsters! The Apple store in NYC on 14th is a madhouse but its a well run machine. They have different store levels and the Apple personnel just have it all down. Here? People are chatting with each other at the front door, no one welcomes you and its pretty much your on your own. I dropped my iPhone a few weeks ago and I needed to replace it under Applecare. (I highly recommend Applecare for all of your Apple products) The place is just a madhouse of customers, Apple salesfolks and counterfolks. Everyone waiting for their iThingys to purchase or repair. After bringing my Macbook Pro in for repair under Applecare+ - as a repair person myself, who has been fixing Macs and other electronics for a decade+ - I can say I am sorely disappointed with the customer service at this Apple Store The first problem: the genius I was paired with tried to charge me $100 for what, under apple policy, should have been a free repair. After declining the charge, insisting they ship it to the repair facility and let them decide at Apple HQ, of course there was no charge; the repair was completed without it. But if I hadn't spoken up for myself, and *insisted* they did not preemptively charge me due to a minor blemish on my device, I would be out $100 The second problem: the genius' dismissive impatience with me lead to the underlying hardware issue not being addressed, which means further repairs will be needed at Apple HQ after the issue recurs The issue I was experiencing was a nuanced, recurrent speaker issue. I had done research into it, found that others with this issue ended up necessitating a logic board replacement after several attempts at speaker-only repairs continued to fail I tried to explain all of this to the genius, in concise detail. He was *extremely* impatient and dismissive. I don't know if it's because I was a woman, or a trans person, or what, but he did not hold any patience for what I was explaining He refused to take note of my research, to explain to the apple techs at the repair facility that a logicboard replacement might be required - and unsurprisingly, when I received my repair back, it was with the same initial logicboard. Was super excited to purchase the new Apple Watch and walked into the store to the first open representative I saw. The woman's name was Amy and she asked for my information as she began typing away on her iPad. After speaking with Apple on the phone, they set up an appointment for me & my husband at your Smithaven Mall location in Lake Grove, N.Y. for the same day. They told me Apple would honor the promotion that AT&T was offering - $800 for each of our iPhones 11 Pro's (which were in excellent condition) as trade in's for the iPhones 14 Pro. When we got there we stood there for 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Finally someone named Zach was sent over. To make a long story short, he said we cannot have the promotion & we would have to change our plan & it would cost double what we are paying now! He was very nasty, condescending & tried to talk down to me, but I was not having it! He should not be dealing with people! We are long time customers & do not deserve to be treated like that. He said we need to go to The AT&T Store. We then went over to The AT&T Store & they were very nice & we ended up ordering our new iPhone 14 Pro's from AT&T. We each got $800 for our trade in's & both phones came in the mail in less than 2 weeks (a lot sooner than what we were told). We went back to AT&T & they set up both our phones for us & couldn't have been nicer. Also, we changed our plan & it's only costing $5 more a month per phone, not double as per what Zach from Apple told us! I've been coming to this location ever since I started purchasing Apple products. Over the years all the staff I have came across have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone is always super upbeat and are ready to help you with whatever you need. This store does get busy so there may be wait times. It's best to make an appointment online if you are coming in with any questions or concerns about your devices along with repairs or replacements. They do take walk ins, but you will have to wait about an hour or longer to be seen. Much of the staff is very accommodating and are there to help you. read more

I came into the store to get my laptop fix. The first person I was working with has very nice, and seemed to care about getting my laptop fixed. However, this was surely not the case for everyone else. I got a phone call saying, that they did what they could, but it still was not fixed. They proceed to say that they could send it out to get it fixed for $600, but it would likely to a waste of time, and that I should but another computer. I'm 19, and have to go to college in about a week, at this time. So I went to guy buy another computer ASAP. However, I waited for about 40 minutes for someone to help me, and she was kinda rude, and was obvious that she wanted me out because they closed in about 20 minutes. Granted I had gotten there an hour before they closed and was waiting for someone to help me. Anyway, I got the computer and went home. I had told my friend who works at computer repair shop the story. Then told him that if he could get it to work he could keep the computer. (I had asked apple if I could trade in my computer, but they said I wouldn't get any money for it because it was broken). We'll long story short, my friend spent about an hour before he got my laptop to work again. Anyway, this post was to show that Apple just wants you to buy products and spend the most money there and doesn't care about you. I los my phone and went to go buy a new one, I gave a blonde lady (I'm Hispanic) $570 but I was in rash and needed to go pick up my daughter so I canceled the transaction and the lady only give me $470 back!! And said how the amount she gave me was correct and that she wasn't $100 short I work hard for my money, so I'm not going to let anyone take that away from me. Make an appointment for 3:00.. be prepared to wait until 4:00 for an "apple genius" to help you. After waiting an hour my first appointment and getting a dud replacement refurbished phone... and then having to come back a second time and wait another hour to get a SECOND replacement phone .. I still have a malfunctioning phone. You see I had an older model of iPhone (2016 SE).. it worked perfectly, except for it pestering me with a message to update that popped up every day- which you decline by clicking "remind me tomorrow". I would always decline- but some how it updated itself to the newest software and everything went haywire. I asked apple if they could just "revert to the old OS" and they said that was "impossible to do". Lol ok. So they say besides the software problems my iPhone SE is having.. it also has a swollen battery. So I turn in the swollen phone and pay $60 I get a refurbished, working iPhone SE. Get the refurbished iPhone SE go home and start to set it up. Oh it's having a lot of the same problems. Almost as if the new software doesn't work well with older model phones. So I have to go back to the Apple store. I explain the whole situation and jokingly vent about my theory that "apple is downgrading phones on purpose to force people to buy newer models".. Well apparently my "apple genius" takes the slightest criticism of Apple to heart.. the kid got so defensive and comes at me, "Wait are you saying that we FORCED you into buying this new phone? we did you a FAVOR" he says. So I ask for my old phone and the $60 I spent and I'll turn in this replacement phone. Apple kid says, "Well we can't do that.. your old phone is gone, it's not in the store anymore. What we can do is offer another refurbished replacement iPhone SE". I just wanted to get out of there- so I turn in my old new replacement phone and get a second replacement phone. Guess what? Same issues! (Slow, sluggish performance when minimizing or switching apps, camera flash issues and messages interface glitches when turning the phone. Funny because my 3 year old cracked screen iPhone 5s with the old OS works flawlessly. Anway, long story short- Had to spend over 4 hours driving and waiting at the Apple store to get 2 replacement phones, BOTH OF WHICH WERE MALFUNCTIONING. Now I am currently on my way to Chase to sit down with a branch manager, explain the situation and have them do a charge back. This Apple Store is like walking into a new age titanic; amazing at first sight, but ready to sink. I've been a customer of apple for years, and I've owned 6 iPhones. As much as I love the convenience and luxury of being an iPhone owner, I feel like the company as a whole is losing their loyalty to their customers. I made a Genius Bar appointment at 4:20PM. Arrived on time, was seated, where I continued to wait until I was approached at 5:00PM. I owned an iPhone 6 which I was perfectly happy with until I started having issues connecting to Wifi,Bluetooth, and 4G. They ran diagnostics, everything appeared fine. When they physically tested it, the problem stated above occurred. Because I bought my iPhone 15 Months ago. I was unable to replace my phone because it was not covered under the 12 Month warranty. I'm upset at the quality of the product, and the quality of the service. I remember a time where you could crack your phone, walk into the store and they would replace it no questions asked regardless of a 12 Month convenience period. For my phone to break (BY NO FAULT OF MY OWN), and go out of my way to sit for almost an hour only to tell me to take out a loan. On top of my student loan was completely disheartening. My brother owns an iPhone 4, which still works fine to this day. All I can say is the quality of your product has gone down, the quality of care for your customers has gone down. You sent me out the door empty handed and upset and I may not come back. I just hope your iPhone 7 is waterproof for your future customers, because with this kind of disservice to them, you're bound to drown. read more

The apple technicians stayed true to their title as "geniuses" and fixed my laptop's software issue. Their assistance helped me to extend my laptop's life and helped me to learn a few technical shortcuts in the process. The staff was timely, ran all diagnostic tests to determine it was indeed the updated OSx software that needed to be reinstalled and promptly told me how to make the correction using the new format requiring no install disk. Word to the wise for those who normally do not need apple technical support an appointment at the genius bar is required! I saw too many people leave frustrated for this reason. My 11 year old nephew found it hard to believe that yesterday was the first time I had stepped foot in an Apple Store. From all I have read about them, this one did not overly impress me. I was expecting a much larger store. Not the cramped little space I visited. Making things worse from a customer perspective is the fact that the place was packed. The we're plenty of staff dressed in their red polos. Now if they were actually helping people instead of hanging around talking to each other, I would have been more impressed. We were never acknowledged until we were leaving. Nothing was clearly marked so I'm not sure where I should have been going had I actually been shopping rather then just looking around. I thought it was cool to see all of the gadgets on display, and be able to pick them up and play with them. While I own a few Apple products and love them, this visit didn't do anything to enhance the experience. read more

I am very happy with the Apple products and service and often tell people to buy Apple. I was in this store today and had nothing but great service and a great experience. This store is always busy and they have many salespeople and techs to help out. Make an appointment online before you go in. You will not be ignored. My family owns 2 IMacs, 2 MacBooks, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, an Apple TV and two Apple Air Extremes. No problems, no hassles, no issues. and anytime I've come into the Smithaven Store, (with an appointment which is easy to make online), I've had excellent service. I have no experience with what some of the other reviewers are saying. I would not want to go back to a PC at any price. Yes, Apple products are more expensive, but to me, it's worth the extra money. The one time I did call tech service, I spoke with someone in California and had great communication and wonderful service. There will always be the people who are dissatisfied, but so many people have Apple products, why are there so few complaints? No complaints from me! read more

I went to this apple store as it was close to my parents.. I had a return (faulty apple watch) that i had just recieved as a gift the day before. I called apple to see what could be done being they were only doing curbside. They told me to go to the store and exchAnge it. I got there as it opened (outside) explained why i was there.. the nasty woman outside side we arent doing exhanges. I said i spokke to apple and they said to come. She told me to park my car and someone would be over. While in the car i called apple again spoke to a really nice woman. I was in my car for 45 min with no help. And there were at least 6 employees sitting around doing nothing. I told the woman on the phone. Thankfulky she reached out to the store and got me the help I needed.. noone in that store was helpful or polite. read more
