The Apple Store on Market Street gets Four Stars. I've been for viewing but when I'm purchasing I go to a location closer to home. Everyone that knows me knows that I started using Apple products because of my daughter and my Uncle John. They used nothing else. There was a definite learning process. I was very knowledgeable at one time. Lately the technology updates are messing with my settings and using too much artificial intelligence. The intuitive writing is putting words in my writing that completely changes the way I'm writing. This makes more work because I have to proofread more than once before I post. I'm hopeful though that my knowledge will grow with time. I'm already planning for my 80th birthday! I'm going to buy myself an Apple Watch like the one I bought for my daughter. See my photo. Purchased an iPhone for a relative, really needed for them to go to the Apple store to learn how to operate the phone, instead of expecting me to teach them. The relative was a Samsung user. Very impressed with every aspect of the store, service, atmosphere, and assistance. Jeison is absolutely delight, we were very fortunate to have had Jeison assist us with questions. Every employee that we encountered was wonderful. Another special thanks to Chani, such a lovely person. Could not have asked for a better experience. Really enjoyed seeing all of the new Apple products. Really love the atmosphere of this location. The store was not over crowded during our time at Apple. Came here for an emergency. My phone battery was acting up for weeks and finally died on me and i had no chargers in the car. They were able to fit me in and replace the battery at a charge but it was good to go after that. I've probably been harder on the Apple Store than I should be. Now certain things I've stated in the past still ring true - from Apple's preference of appearing 'upscale' and their prices. I won't change my opinion on that. I tend to avoid the Apple Store in general (any location), despite having an iPhone, Airpods, and (yes, still) an iPod - but I was desperate in this case. I had cracked my screen (first time ever doing that for myself) and I wasn't a fan of my phone carrier's 'options', so I decided to try coming here for a resolve. I made an appointment online for the next day and came here. I was fully aware that I'd probably be paying a lot, but I was willing this time. The greeters were very friendly and the wait time wasn't that long. The first person who helped me was informative and pleasant. They gave me all options available and I chose to leave my phone with their 'experts' for a few hours. Upon return, I had someone else who was equally pleasant and informative. Apple couldn't fix my issue and rather than pay for a new phone altogether, I just decided to make due with my cracked screen. I was given all available options though and made my choice. The point of the updated review was to mainly mention the customer service, which was very good. I expected friendly and that's what I got - but it's still nice to have when basic customer service and friendly employees are becoming rarer by the day. So I gave another star for that friendliness. Good customer service and friendly employees go a long way with me and I always think it's important to point that out. read more

I appreciate this location compared to the city. I don't have to wait long and staff is incredibly friendly. My charger was burned out so I was able to receive a replacement and buy a larger cable for my iPad only $32 with taxes great value. Thank you Genius Bar. read more

On April 20th 2022 I bought an iPhone 13 pro 256gb with apple care theft and loss ( attached) On July 16, 2022 I lost my phone while traveling to the airport in Costa Rica. And I deactivated my Apple Pay cards image attached. But nothing else. I knew I had apple care theft and loss (image attached) I went into the apple store to get help bc when I tried to enter the claim it wasn't working. The apple store at ridge hill was extremely busy. An apple leader tried to help me but was also helping many people. Apple Leader -female curly haired Latinx. She proceeded to take me to a laptop and me to log into a computer and enter in my Apple ID and password. I did that. 4:38pm (image attached) It was asking me for the two factor authentication so I asked another apple store staff to help me. He told me to login to findmy and disable my phone. (Image attached of person). The Apple leader was again very busy and sent me to a apple store manager torkel manager of Genius Bar for assistance. They asked to call the insurance company AIG and we all spoke to the insurance and worked together to enter the claim. The claim was entered on July 17th 2022 (image attached) bc Torkel Genius Bar manager helped me. I thought everything was fine." And apple ridge hill had fixed it. Until Tuesday, July 20th 2022 (image attached). I spoke with Oliya and Marcin, leadership at Ridge Hill store. I was at Ridge Hill Apple store from 3:17pm to 4:49pm on July 19, 2022. A total of 9 staff members were present. While at the store at Ridge Hill I saw no sense of urgency or regard for my issue , which was caused by an apple employee at the ridge hill store. Marcin and Oliya, pretended to help me. Let's summarize. I have insurance for my phone and the mishandling of an apple ridge hill staff caused the insurance company to deny my claim and apple refuses to refund the money or replace the phone. In my whole Apple experience, this kind of horrible handling has never ever happened to me. read more

I bought a new Macbook Air at this store, and the service was excellent. They were so patient with my questions and were able to clearly explain things to me in a way I understood. I also had a ten-year old Macbook Air that I feel like was on its last legs, and I couldn't get to the log in screen. I was frantic that I lost my data, but Malexis (sp.?) at the Genius Bar cheerfully diagnosed the problem and resolved it, clearly explaining to me exactly what she was doing to my laptop with each step. She was so efficient and such a pro. She also told me what I needed to do to avoid the problem in the future. I really couldn't believe how fast she was at fixing the problem! I was so grateful. I was treated so well here that I would certainly go out of my way to have a repair done here and shop here for new products. The best compliment I could give this store would be to recommend that friends and family come here as well. read more

Made an appointment at the yonker's Apple Store to get my iPhone battery replaced. Made sure I was there early than my appointment and checked in. Was then told that they would not be able to replace my battery today, that I could leave it and pick up phone tomorrow. I explained that I had an appointment. Why didn't they make that warning when I made the appointment inline before driving over 45 minutes to the store and paid for parking. I asked why they didn't give me a heads up when I checked in? All I got was a shrug of the shoulders and " that is the system and we just work hear". Why have an appointment system then? Why bother going to the Apple Store if the can't do a battery change in a 1.5 hour timeframe? How can you say the customer is number 1 , when you have so little regard for their time. I asked if anything could be done as this is my work phone and I can't be without it (this the appointment). "No" I was told " we had to many walk ins". After traversing four levels Over 15 minutes to park my car, I was pretty wound up. And knowing that I was going to have to pay to park, didn't help with that one bit. Nevertheless, and in spite of myself, I made my way down the stairs and enter the store. Let's face it, the folks in the Apple stores, Are so nice, and are so helpful, even the most dispirited a misanthropic person can walk out happy. They must put Prozac in the water or ether in the HVAC. They have plentiful stock, knowledgeable staff and are eager to help. I had my iPad in for a check up--mine is on 24-7 365 with podcasts, EBay and school stuff during the night and Email and news during the day. Everything checked out fine so I had some spare time to kill and thought about a watch. 20 minute wait I'm told. OMG, really??!? Patience isn't always my most prominent virtue but it gave me time to check out the drones, speakers and latest unnecessary. After 20 minutes the sales person came over and was sooooooo helpful. I went in to the Apple Store Ridge Hill to preview the Macbook Air M2 laptop. My 12 year old Macbook Pro is finally in need of replacement. THe sales person, apple expert I was assigned to was disinterested, would only answer questions (that he could) when I asked something specific, and really did not tell me anything except what I had already found out online. I even said "What can you tell me about this Macbook Air that I probably do not know" His response was, "Well what questions do you have?" What??? I left when the Macbook went black and shut down on its own. He had to Hard Start to reboot and explained it away by saying customers abuse the machines. Yuck I won't go back. I was ready to buy, but his non-existent sales skills and disinterest turned me away. read more

I highly recommend reserving an appointment slot online beforehand! Assuming there would be less wait time here than at a midtown branch or elsewhere in the city, I visited this location during the early afternoon on the weekend. (It's located within a larger outdoor mall area and there's a nearby garage that offers free parking!) Even though there was a line to check-in, it moved relatively quickly. I was seated at a table and waited only about 5-10 minutes before a staff member came to help me with my device's battery issue. Although I'm less than impressed with the fact that my battery needed to get replaced so soon, I was definitely impressed with how friendly and detailed the help I received was. Of course I've been to this Apple store on several different occasions. This is often my pick-up location when I know I won't be in the city. On this occasion my Apple Watch had a boo-boo and that's what bought me in. Previous to showing up I attempted to make an appointment, because we all know without an appt your visit can feel like a visit to DMV. Unfortunately the only available appt was for the following week. In this day and age of immediacy that wasn't going to work. So I took my chances and headed to the store. To my surprise the wait was less then an hour upon arrival and they actually called me quicker then expected. Sadly my watch had to be sent out and even with Apple Care Plus there was fee but it was drastically less then it would have been with out it. Fast forward to the day of pick-up, on Saturday so of course the store was extremely busy. Nonetheless in less then 30mins I had a new watch (they actually very rarely repair damaged watches and just replace them). I accompanied my aunt to this Apple store near her home to get assistance with a technical issue on her new Iphone. The store was big, bright and clean. There were phones, tablets and macbooks on all the tables. We arrived on an early Friday morning a little after 11AM and the place was busy. I had read some prior Yelp reviews and forewarned my aunt it could take up to an hour to get some assistance. Lo and behold, today the wait was two hours. Im thinking we'll get called within the hour. Nope, we had to ask one of the salesperson how much longer when it was 5 minutes before the 2nd hour. Unreal!!!!! I joked with my aunt that this Apple store has a deal with the Cheesecake Factory because we saw a stream of customers leaving Apple to go across the street to eat which is the same thing we did to kill the time. Luckily this store is in a mall area so you can walk around and shop during your long wait. Our tech support, Bryan was very sweet, patient and helpful. He helped my aunt with her phone and we were done in 10 minutes. I honestly dont know if the long wait times are the norm for Apple stores but be prepared to wait if you come to this location. read more

I want to say this. I am not a apple hater, I never been, I bought my first apple phone 2008 (1st generation) for god sakes when others still had sidekicks or BlackBerry phones, so technically I prefer to "coexist" when it comes to all the operating systems and devices out there, and I use what fits my needs as everyone should. My issue is that the apple product itself ( phones, iPads, watches and now ear buds) are constantly being upgraded while the previous series or generation suffers from an unknown glitch and it has to be taken to an apple store to buy a new phone or to... eventually get another phone, they never have any other solution, hence the reason why I'm here today, not for a phone though ( I would never purchase another one even if they paid me to) but for my iPad 5 that mind you I had to upgrade from the first one I bought back in 2017 or so that caught this unknown conspiracy "GLITCH". Its actually still brand new with zero scratches on it but apple is not able and almost refuses to fix it only because its out-dated, and on the other hand Customer service over the phone is dreadful, it's like almost a whole day wasted. I say all this to finally say that at least my appointment today thankfully went smoothly with joe who fixed my ipad eventhough I had to completely wipe everything out he was able to get it back running despite my small attitude he was very humorous and friendly and the hour that I spent there didn't seem bad. I'll end this by saying ........... THE MACINTOSH store is the best! And SAMSUNG PHONES ARE BETTER. read more

Terrible overall experience. Couldn't find my old watch that they repaired brought my new watch in that they replaced prior and was not working. Now they saying they can't fix it and i need to pay 299 for a watch that i previously replaced for 79. Completely unreasonable and to make matters worse they said the "the watch is water resistant not waterproof" but the damn watch has a exercise function for swimming and it can't be replaced for not being able to do what it was intended. read more

I am one of the biggest apple fans however when I went to the Ridge Hill store today it all turned around. I was looking to buy the new IPad and they were the only store in my area with it available. I was skeptical of the store at first because my main store was busy but decided to go anyway. I get to Ridge Hill and double-check that it's available which it was. I then attempted to go purchase it in-store when they then said that you can only enter if you purchase online because of COVID-19. So I then check and it said available and went through the steps however when I got to check out it said unavailable. 2 security guards wouldn't let me speak to a manager just to double-check the availability for 15 mins. I then spoke to the manager who really did not care nor help me locate the closest one and said to come back when it says available online. Never going back to that store. read more

Terrible customer service...Manager Shawn Cleary told me to come back the next day as it was 846pm and they were closing at 9pm. I had already spent 2 hours in another location and they did not take that into consideration, I even had a printout from another store showing that the screen had failed diagnostics testing. They refused to help me so i was left without a phone for the night. Customer relations told me they would investigate and I haven't heard a word from them. While Ive been an " Apple head " forever, i am always amazed of the competition out there. None the less, I dont think Ill ever switch. The employees bend over backwards to help you and not make you feel ignorant about the upgrades that are out there. I had someone named Doug who bent over backwards on his own time help me to upgrade my ipad very easily. The one and only problem that I honestly could say I had was they don't accommodate the disabled. I took a long a friend of mine who has MS and there was no place to sit no place to stand on the side absolutely nothing! Very surprised in this day and age that even during Covid they were never special accommodations for the disabled please change that, it would help many people. read more

This place is ridiculously busy at all times. It seems like the hustle never lets up! Stopped in the other day to purchase the new iPhone 7 and an Apple Watch. My boyfriend had checked online to be sure they had what he wanted and we went thinking it would be a quick process since he was buying the phone outright (no plans to deal with.) The store itself is gorgeous as most Apple stores are. There were a ton of employees working but it seemed like we had to go to 4 different people just to get on line. Eventually someone told us which line to be on if we were just getting phones. So we stood in line, 2 people ahead of us. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. We waited on line for 45 minutes just to speak to someone about purchasing the phone. The process of purchasing took maybe 15 minutes and then we went to a table for setup. Then we would complete one step. And wait. Complete step two. Wait. All in all people seemed nice enough and willing to help. But they are just way too busy for their own good. To buy a phone and watch, without actually needing any questions answered or any demonstrations, took just under 2 hours. Crazy. read more

I go to the store to seek help and get nothing other then you have to pay $200 plus dollar. For that I should have bought the cheaper bull shit aluminum watch that they offered. Horrible , the employees and even the Manager was rude to this lady that had a disability she also had her service dog with her. She said nobody wanted to help her they told her to come back at 6:30pm the store closes at 7pm she said they were going to help her but they went to the back and never came back to help her and by the time someone came back to "help" her it was time to close and she got told she was supposed to come early at 6:30pm before store closing and that the store was closing now. All she wanted to do was to get her screen fixed. Unless you're purchasing a new product, NEVER ever go there for any returns or exchanges whatsoever, unless you have your receipt. The are EXTREMELY UNACCOMODATING, i've learned this through multiple visits, and multiple encounters with different managers, and they all were unhelpful whatsoever. Just spoke to a manager called Mondy, he was very unhelpful, let me leave the store without fixing the issue, which was that i wanted to return an apple watch and didn't have a receipt, now to give some background, it was bought a couple days ago, he asked for my credit card, i told him that i will provide a picture of it as i don't have the actual card on me, asked if i could show him the transaction online, he didn't even wanna accept that!! I have no idea how those people were hired by apple to run this disgraceful store, where apple care on the phone are very well known for very nice customer service skills. I regret going there, and i even told Mondy that i promise not to ever visit this store again, and that i would complain and write a review about the incident, and of course with no surprise, HE DIDN'T CARE!!!! Proof of the company's current status this store is nearly invariably busy. However, compared to the experience of using the temporary fifth avenue store it is a breeze to get to, park, and get the service you need. Although Apple has a comprehensive training plan I feel the staff at this store are amongst the friendliest and ready to help I have seen in a while. I came to Apple to get my phone screen fixed. When I gave them my phone I forgot to take off my case so I just expected they'd give me my case back along with my phone after they fixed it but no. All they gave me back (2 hrs later) was my phone and no case along with it. I told the guy that I gave my phone to that it had a case on and he just told me he couldn't find it or I probably lost it with me. I told him I literally left it with them and it's okay he can't find it but I'd appreciate if I get a free (even cheaper) case to at least leave with to keep on my phone. He proceeded to tell me that there's nothing he can do about my lost case and he can't do anything about me getting some type of replacement case for my CASE THAT THEY LOST. Worst Apple location in NYC area. Anytime you come to this location even with a Genius Bar reservation there is a long wait. When I go to locations in the city I am always seen within 5 mins. When you try and make a reservation they never have same day and usually no next day appointments. Even though this location is conveinent, I rather travel to a different location. read more
