Hands down, worst Apple Store. I walked in with a damage lightning cable. Any other store, they just check your warranty and replace it without a problem. This store, they immediately denied me because the cable had "physical damage" (duh). I called Apple Care and I was told that that is not a reason to deny me a new cable and was asked to put the staff member on the phone. After he spoke to the lady from Apple Care, he gave me a new cable. Completely unnecessary run around. read more

Apple Stores are great. Awesome products, clean, modern look, and the fact that they are often crowded should not count against them given how good their products are. I have shopped at many of their stores - three times at Ridge Hill. This one is the worst I have encountered. Granted, it's new, and perhaps will improve with age. They want me to WAIT until their is an update or choose to hand in my phone for a $300 give card. Both unacceptable! I believe Apple as a retail company has lost their costumer support and and guarantees with fatal costumer services and assistance with their own update service problems. The Rich Hill Apple store and tech support is supposed to provide software support after the release of a software update. Although I'm not sure if that counts for minor or major updates. Regardless we are still within the period they would make a software support exception for the major iOS 11.2.6 upgrade. If the software update put his phone into a recovery mode error than they should be able to assist, even if the phone is out of warranty. Software should not cause hardware malfunctions. read more

Plenty of staff walking around yet no one helps customers, you just stand there and watch how green shirts are slowly moving around, talking to each other - while customers are waiting indifinitely. Have never - even at Christmas time - spent an HOUR waiting for someone to sell me an item at Apple Store before. This is my second BAD experience at this store. And it will be my last. Went in to upgrade my phone asked for a gold 6. After more than 90 minutes(which included a software update to the new phone and entering my apple id 6 times) from when I walked in the door to where I was in set up,. I notice on the receipt that it says SILVER. Up to this point, I really wasn't allowed to touch the phone, only place my finger for the finger print part. Rather than take the gold phone and go through the torture of setting up a second phone, I chose to return the phone and leave. First bad experience was when the guy backed up my phone to the icloud, it must not have been backed up and I lost everything. All they have to say is sorry, like that makes it all better. Generally had a positive experience, but today was drastically different. Upon arrival, I was told to find a staff name David who was extremely rude and unprofessional. My most basic question was responded with an attitude, to my surprise. In all my years of buying and interacting with Apple staff, he is probably the only one below standard. I love apple products, and service usually is the really good, but last time i went i have the feeling the employee at the door act more like a bouncer at the club, i ask if i can see the new apple watch, and instead of invite me to see the display he said " we don't have it! ", " you will have to wait at least an hour" ok i just want to show it to my wife so i can learn which one she likes, then later buy her one as a birthday present. I had a nightmare that this store turned into a blessing! After being sold the wrong case for my laptop at the 5 th ave store and making the trip to 3 other stores including the 5th ave store for a second time after being told all of these stores had the correct case but mine of them did, Marcus at the Ridge Hill store not only held the case for me until I got there but gave me a sizable discount for all the hassle! Apple stores in general gives crappy customer service. This store is so crowded and they are not helpful or knowledgeable. They told me only AFTER I paid them $160 to fix my screen that they don't MAKE my phone anymore because it is defective (iphone 6 plus). They pretended to do me a favor and order me 6s plus, and now I am 5 days without a phone. No one can answer the phone and it takes forever to get to talk to a human being. If I didn't pour so much money into Apple music, I would get Galaxy in a hot minute. Genius bar attendant told me that i would get a call within 48 hours about the repair status and they never did which is one strike. Went on the website and it said "repair in progress" yesterday but they skipped today's progress. I remember telling the person to call me before repairing it as i would like to know the cost. Is it $100 or $1000? But they did fix my computer perfectly. Since it was just a software issue it was also free which was real nice. Is it just an Apple policy or a store one? I don't know. Earlier this year one salesperson was short and curt with me and told me i could not recycle my old phone while another did a few seconds later. I think I might of annoyed this salesperson because she was in the middle of a conversation with another employee. Sorry for interupting your social life... So if anything the quality you get from employees varies greatly here. Some are friendly and professional while others are definitely not helpful and borderline rude. read more

I recently visited this store for the first time since its opening, I often go to the store located in the Westchester Mall. I live about five minutes from the Yonkers location but I had such a horrible experience at this location I will only go to the one in the Westchester, even though it is inconvenient. The greeter at the door was very polite but was completely clueless on how to properly direct me as to where to go to get the product I wanted. The layout of the store is very confusing combined with the fact that the staff does not know how to interact with clients, the store is a disaster. I was directed to go stand next to the t.v. screen and I could do express checkout, well there were about three different televisions at the location and there was no line to wait in and people were gathered around a roped off area with one associate very slowly helping all the clients. I had walked into the store knowing exactly what I wanted and wound up waiting 45 minutes to be assisted by the associate at the express checkout. Maybe if this store is managed better and the employees learn to effectively assist and communicate with clients I will give this store another try, until then I will go to another location to be assisted by professionals. read more

I walked in while it was empty and had to walk around and asked someone if I could sign in he said he could help me right away. I explained I need to completely erase my sons iPhone which I bought yesterday and while setting up family share and a family app got locked out which disabled the password. I had the box and receipt and explained I already tried to do it myself via iTunes but was having a hard time. He then tells me that I have to wait 45 minutes I said ok then he said oh and another 30 minutes after that because they're busy when he already told me he would help me then he tells me to go home and call Apple support myself. The whole point in me walking into the store was for help. This is the second time the staff was unhelpful and trying to push me over the phone. I work for a wireless company and I always tell them if you need help with Apple never go to this specific store the one in Westchester mall is more friendly and knowledgeable the store should just close or retrain the staff. read more

Yesterday I spent four hours at this store. I have an Iphone X that has a very poor signal strength. It started in March. I went to the Apple store in the city first. They erased my phone and started as new, but they did not document it . A week later, my Iphone X was dropping the signal again. I called AT&T and they assured me it doesn't not come from them. My wife has the Iphone 6S and she has a great signal while I don't. So I went to Ridge Hill, waited an hour to be seen. At the Genius Bar, on of the employees tried my phone and told me my internet was terrible. He called the technical person. She checked the hardware, didn't find anything, then she said we need to erase my phone again. I told her it has been done before and I am looking for another option. The manager came, told me that because it wasn't documented they have to do it and that there are no other options. I was so frustrated. He said if I didn't let them erase it, he would leave. So they erased the phone, then told me there were no issues. I was so upset. They said that if they cannot reproduce the issues at the store, they won't do anything. When you reset your phone like new, it will work great but if there is a defect, the problem would keep happening. I argued with them. I talked to the three managers, at that point they were teaming up against me, not trying to find a solution. I left the store, walked 40 feet and the signal dropped again. I came back but the signal around the Apple store is strong so I could not show them the issue, even though the manager tried to connect to the internet 5 times and then he told me my phone was perfectly fine. At that point I was crying. I paid 1500 $ for a phone that doesn't work, lost two working afternoons. I bought a phone is supposed to be the best on the market. I went home, read online that many people have similar issues and it might be because Apple uses different cellular modems in different iPhone X models. For example, the US version of iPhone X (model A1865) contains a Qualcomm modem. This modem is superior in both performance and global adaptability to all types of systems according to online comments. The Canadian model (A1901) contains an Intel modem. This modem is a weaker performer according to the same sources. For some reasons, I have this modem. So if the issue comes from the modem, it would not show in all of the diagnostics. I went home, called Apple Support, he told me that there is no repair options for Iphone X, but he opened a case for me and now I am going to send my phone for intense test but if the issue is the modem, it doesn't seem they will acknowledge it. I bought the Iphone X, after they did that update which created many issues for owners of the Iphone 6. I had my I phone 6 for 3 years with no issues. I have many Apple products and never complained. For the first time, I went to complain , I was not taken seriously. I feel powerless and taken advantage from Apple. read more

Mac is the best, no matter what. This store is a good little franchise, I visited today with a gifted shuffle and was able to exchange it for a different color despite the gift having an engraving. My family and I have been Apple users for years. I've been to this store ONCE, and will make it my business to never come again. I was told that the wait time was approximately 35 mins, that led on to a one hour wait. When the check in idiot girl (who tried to deter us from having my phone checked by telling me that my phone has a software issue, not a hardware issue) realized that we were waiting for long, she sent us over to the Genius Bar. I waited at the Genius Bar for almost an hour to THEN be told that someone had erased my name, and that they would add my name onto the list again and put me to the top. Once my phone was checked I was advised that in fact my phone had a hardware issue, the screen needed to be replaced. We agreed to an hour wait and when we came back they mixed up my name AND phone..... Terrible experience. read more

While the store is like any other store, this 5 star review is for a specific technical support Godsend - Michael with the Genius bar. He was amazing. Where 3 other Apple stores (including 24/7 Columbus circle), could not fix the problem with my macbooks, they couldn't even diagnose it. I have 3 laptops - a 2 year old macbook air and 2 macbook pro 2009/2010 generations. Michael was the only one who knew how to work with the computers and went above and beyond with his knowledge and compassion. Everyone else made me feel that because it wasn't the latest model, I may as well throw the computers out (wth at 2k a computer; the Columbus circle didn't even have an appropriate charger). Michael was amazing, kind, explained everything, directed me to how to fix the problem and update through a third-party hardware supplier. People like Michael are the reason I continue to purchase multiple devices with Apple. Thank you for truly being a Genius at the Genius bar. read more

I just came into this store to do a quick iPhone upgrade for my cousin. I also brought in my older MacBook Pro laptop to get a new hard drive as my current one had stopped working. While there, we were helped by a employee named Mike Blank. He provided us with customer service that went above and beyond any expectations that I had before coming into the store. He gave us a variety of options to choose from that allowed us to choose the iPhone we wanted while saving money. He also went on to assist me with a small complication that I experiencing on my iPhone that had been bothering me for a while now but I was too lazy to get fixed. Furthermore, he gave me exceptional advice on how to help advance my current 2012 MacBook Pro's performance so that it will now run similar to a newer and more expensive laptop. Terrible customer service. Gave my Mac book pro for repairs and for 3 days i get no update. When i called to find out the status on my machine i am told that there are more repairs that are needed and will cost much more. I asked them to finish the work and call me for pick up as this is my work computer. No one calls. I call back the next day and i am told the computer is ready for pick and they apologized for not calling. read more
