Never going back to this dentist office, again! Lots of cons, little to no pros.. The waiting area is huge, lots of seats for patients and their families. There's a play area for the kiddos - and that's one of the only neat things about this place. The dental hygienist was decent. She did come off as a bit pushy IMO. The "can you do this, can you do that" .. no manners! Really!? The dentist was rushing and her hygienist did NOT clean any of the teeth! Too much poking around in the mouth and talk about random things that made NO sense. Going to the dentist makes people anxious and they like having their person with them. Denying them (the patient) that right when they're at the dentist for a cleaning is just wrong IMO. Anxiety is real and it can be crippling. The fear is hard to describe- other than I cried. It's not funny and I heard employees laughing! I'm very disappointed and frustrated. You need this done, you need that done.. Wait, what? I'm sorry I feel you're pushing unnecessary dental work to be done. It's hard for me to trust a dentist these days, especially since I've had family members get dental work done that was 100% unnecessary! Their teeth are messed up and they're embarrassed to smile. That's hurtful and makes me infuriated! No, I will not allow a dentist that I don't even know to do all this work on my teeth- especially since I know it's NOT needed. Apple Valley Dental & Braces - I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and you chose to take advantage of someone who you barely know. You will NEVER see me walk into ANY of your offices AGAIN. Very insensitive, poor communication, Dont get dentures in Pasco they cant keep a denturist long enough to get a pair of dentures made! Ive seen 3 denturists in a year and none have been able to make a pair that fit or get them delivered from Yakima to Pasco. This whole experience has been a nightmare on top of the loss of my husband and not having teeth that a functional has caused extreme hardship in my life. My fiancée was intending to get her teeth pulled about a year and a half ago, as they were decaying beyond any help. Instead they had scheduled her for a cleaning (which she canceled because there was no point, her teeth were beyond repair). Skip to June this year, she finally got her teeth pulled and was due to get implants, but then during one of the consultations, they told her that she'd be getting dentures. She had her appointment earlier this month to get her molds, and today she was SUPPOSED TO GET HER NEW DENTURES...ONLY for them to say that she needs to wait ANOTHER 3 WEEKS! SHE HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO EAT SOLID FOODS IN MONTHS! This is outrageous! To add insult to injury, her previous appointment, they had scheduled her to get her dentures on the 19th, and the very next day they call her to cancel and postpone to today. I'm livid, and will not recommend them to anyone in the future! ####AFTER RECEIVING DENTURES AFTER A 3 MONTH WAIT#### My fiancée got her dentures in finally, only for the bottom portion to cause unnecessary pain. She had a follow up scheduled for October 3, and was told IF ANY ISSUES ARISE, CALL TO TRY SCHEDULUING an earlier appointment, so she did. FIRST She was told to just wait until October 3....fair enough right? Then she just got a call pushing THAT ORIGINAL date out 12 more days! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!! THE WOMAN has been unable to eat solid foods for several months, and STILL has problems with YOUR SERVICES and yet not only are you not helping, you're making us wait even longer!!! Avoid at all cost! I had to have my teeth pulled but did not want to go without teeth, so I emptied my savings to get immediate dentures in which I would use later as a spare set. They never even fit the entire time. So I had to go without teeth. The denturist told me to throw them away after 4 months, not even offering to redo the ones I paid a fortune for. Got a new permanent set that I've had for a month, and guess what, they dont fit! I am now stuck with 2 pairs that do me no good! I walked in for dental appointment and the lobby is awesome for kids. But the front desk ladies do not seem friendly. When I got called for my appointment I was brought back by a guy wearing Nike dunks with his scrubs, a black cross earring hanging from one ear and slits in his eyebrow. Talk about unprofessionalism. I couldn't believe they had someone like that working for the dental industry and nun the less, with your kids. Other than appearance, he didn't seem to care for his job much either. He wasn't doing his duties as a dental assistant/hygienist properly. He didn't accurately flossing my teeth, he was very rough and didn't go in between each tooth. He told me to smile and did one swipe of fluoride on my teeth instead of taking the time to make sure each tooth was covered. I don't recommend this place. This place has a great kids play area, but trust me DON'T come here if you have anything to do in the same day. Their time management is atrocious, and, the dentists & dental hygienists are rude. I saw a dental assistant drop something on the floor, a disposable item, and put it back on her tool and put it in a child's mouth. She easily could've grabbed a new one, that is DISGUSTING! I came here at 10am for my appointment, 11am is when i finally got seen, and we left at 2PM!!! This is insane and i do not recommend coming here, bad customer service, bad hygiene, & horrible time management. My kids have gone here & both have had issues with hygienist & Dr's being rough & not caring about past dental trauma. When we asked to not have the same hygienist again front staff was rude & acted if that was a imposition for them. 3 hour wait time for my son's procedure. Scheduled for 8:00 and didn't get called back until 11:00. Him and the other kids there were not able to eat or drink, and yet the front desk staff has McDonalds delivered in front of all of them. The dentist and anesthesiologist were good. The procedure itself went good. The main thing that I really am NOT happy with....They bring you your child to you not even awake from the anesthesia. And then give you maybe 5 minutes with them before they tell you to leave. Just very poor time management. Really considering finding a new dentist for my son. read more

Had the worst experience and to top it off they make themselves seem as pediatric but it's not. My daughter had a filling done and should be simple but had tooth pain so I called thinking they will get her in right away as emergency but no they recommend I go to ER to get her pain meds until they can see her or drive 45 min to their other location cause dr was in surgery with no alternate emergency location to go to in town for their patients. I ended up going to her previous dentist actually pediatric (only left cause a friend worked here) they did xray and they had left a gap in the tooth which is what caused the pain had to re do it and the struggle to get Xrays from this office to transfer care back to the previous dentist was an argument with office manager. This place is terrible, I got braces their in 8th grade I had minimal crowding on my lower teeth and the top was nice and straight. Fast forward 4 months I have been through 3 orthodontists (so a new one each visit nearly) the crowding is gone bottom teeth look great, yet I now have a gap I never had in my top teeth. Then I'm told my tmj is so bad I either need to have a surgery or we have to buy special springs. So we get the springs. Welll now I'm a jr just barely got these springs off and they still say theirs tons of work to be done no gaps no crowding tmj looks fine never bothered me before. So I decide I just want them off. I have been calling everyday the past 2 weeks to get an appointment every-time I'm sent to voicemail or simply hung up on. So not worth it. read more

Horrible, had 4 teeth removed 2 days ago and was told if I was in pain or thought I had an infection to give them a call to get antibiotics but instead when I called they said "there's nothing we can do but to call back in a week". I wish I could say I like this place, I really do. I have had great experiences with the Doctors but the front staff need to be trained to stay professional at work. I've been coming here since my daughter was 1 who is now 4 and I have even came with my second. But my visits are coming to an end because I have seen the front staff eat snacks in the front office and talk about conversations that are not work related at all, a dental assistant talk about her night after work with another dental assistant while cleaning my daughter's teeth, and waiting in the office to schedule another 6 month cleaning while the front staff call back other patients to confirm their appointments. Had my wisdom teeth removed, they gave me shots to numb my mouth and nothing else so I was completely awake and aware the whole time. The doctor explained my procedure in a little too much detail beforehand which didn't help me as i was already very nervous. The assistant had to be constantly corrected by the doctor which normally wouldn't bother me but she didn't spray the water right so one of the doctors tools overheated and burned my mouth. When I asked for gas because I was extremely anxious, I was told I "didn't need it" because I had handled the numbing shots. Assistants were very unprofessional. Complaining about the doctor that they hadn't worked with before. Not what you want to hear before a surgical procedure. My face had to be numbed again halfway through. I didn't expect these extractions to be enjoyable but my experience was horrible. read more

My appointment was cancelled once and I didn't get notified, I was frustrated because I missed school. They told me the person in charge of my situation was not there. I rescheduled my appointment, it was 2 weeks more of waiting. My reschedule appointment was also cancelled even after I had called and made sure it was confirmed. I was reassured that my appointment would not get cancelled again. Please don't go here, there are definitely better options out there. The people here don't care if they waste your time, they could care less and don't do anything about it except offer to reschedule. By far the worst orthodontist I've ever been too. My son had a GA appointment this morning at 10 he has not ate anything since 9pm and here we are almost 1 hour Past his appointment time and I am STILL WAITING. All the front desk staff can say is they are running behind. We have had nothing but problems with this dental office. The last time I was here they didn't even treat the tooth that needed to treatment. If you take your child or yourself to Apple Valley Dental you may want to reconsider and get a second opinion. Not only did I have a terrible experience there with my root canal extraction where the oral surgeon injected the numbing agent into the wrong area of my face causing me to develop temporary nystagmus (rapid movement of the eyes), I was not able to walk or leave for over an hour and not able to walk unassisted for several hours, I was vomiting, they had no wheelchair there so my dad and the dentist had to carry me out of the office ( they wouldn't allow me to go out the front because they were afraid to scare people) not to mention that he almost cut out a tooth that was not supposed to be taken out and his excuse was "I got into the groove of things" the dentist even called me from his personal phone later to make sure I was ok because he was that concerned and said that they had never made that mistake before. I was understanding and forgiving because he was a traveling surgeon so I didn't let it reflect poorly on the office itself. Well that was a huge mistake because it seems that they have more dentists that don't know what they're doing in there. I took myself and my son there the other day where the dentist didn't even sit down during the exam, never looked in my sons mouth past me lifting his top lip a little and he wanted to put him under general anesthesia and cap all his teeth, when I voiced my concern that the decay he has is only on the top 4 teeth he responded by saying "if it's there, it's other places too" they wanted to schedule the procedure right away. Then he looked in my mouth with a mirror for a matter of seconds, never touched any teeth and said based on my X-rays that I needed 4 root canals. I started crying and told him that I'm scared because of my wisdom tooth experience and he said "well that fear you have, that fear led you here and now you need 4 root canals". I took my son for a second opinion at a pediatric dentist specialist and they said that my son doesn't even weigh enough to be put under GA and that the procedure wouldn't even be an option for at least another 6 months. Then I went and got myself a second opinion where the dentist said I didn't need ANY root canals just a few fillings and that my front tooth which is one that they suggested a root canal on didn't even have a cavity! What kind of a dentist can't diagnose a cavity? I spoke with the manager of Apple Valley Dental who was very nice but who said that the dentist was not a specialist in root canals.... I'm sorry but how can a board certified dentist not have the capability to look at an X-ray and know if there's a cavity there? How much gray area can there be in it that the dentist could look at a healthy tooth and think it needs a root canal? Incompetence is what that's called. Who knows how many other people including children who have had unnecessary procedures done to them? read more

My granddaughter has been a patient of Apple Valley for over 1 year. She was waiting to have braces. Over 2 months ago she was told they would submit her paperwork to the insurance company and they told us it would take 6-8 weeks to get approved. When we didn't hear back after 2 months passed, we called Apple Valley and they told us it hasn't been approved by insurance. So we called insurance and they said Apple Valley never did submit it. So we go into Apple Valley and the receptionist couldn't figure out what was happening. She told me to call the Yakima office. So I call Yakima and they told me it was the job of billing in Pasco to submit to insurance, but she was out on maternity leave and no one else could do. The BLOW - The 1 orthodontist they do have IS NOT credentialed with our insurance company! So that means my granddaughter cannot get her braces at Apple Valley! Did they tell us ANY of this? NO they did not. We are furious and will never go back. Oh, the Yakima office said they have received several complaints for the same thing. DO NOT patronize Apple Valley Dental! read more

I've been a patient at Apple Valley Denta for a few years. Today I went in to see about getting a crown reset. The assistants conferred with the "dentist" and were sent back to me to tell me that he couldn't do it because they aren't accepting patients with state insurance who are over the age of 21 due to Covid. I also have another tooth that needed smoothing out. I lost a filling there and now the sharp parts of the tooth are scratching up my cheek. The dentist couldn't be bothered to take a look at it and at least smooth it out. This dental facility sucks so bad!! The dentist didn't even have the common courtesy to talk to me face to face. Chicken shit jerk!! So very unprofessional!! I'll be buying my own dental insurance and you can bet that I'll never step foot in Apple Valley Dental again!! I went to a dentist that I was seeing when I had regular insurance before my husband retired and they said they could help me out. Sure I'll pay out of pocket but it'll be so worth it. read more

My two sons went in 1/22/2018 at 2pm. My 8 year old went in for a root canal. The dental assistant put gas on him and numbed his mouth. She attempted to put a cap on his tooth several times without success. She then asked someone for help and they told her to try a different size. She again tried several times every time my son was in lots of pain. She kept saying he is just scared and kept trying to put it on. Then she asked me what to do. I said I don't know I don't even know what your trying to do. She then asked another assistant for help and that assistant replied that she didn't know how to do it and had never done that before. She continued to try until the third assistant came In. The third assistant took over and told me his gas mask had been upside down this is after a hour had passed of her trying to get the cap on. The new assistant unplugged the mask and hooked up the hoses correctly and put it back on him. She then put the same cap, the previous assistant had been trying to put on for a hour, right away with no problem. My son was not in pain when she put it on. Then they covered his mouth with a plastic guard and he started hyperventilating and crying. He kept saying he can't breath and the plastic was sucked in and out every time he would try to take a breath. I told them he can't breath and the assistant told me he is fine. He then started to turn blue and was gagging. I had to tell them to get it out of his mouth now. At that time the doctor was there and told me that they could not do the procedure without putting him to sleep. My son was in tears and when he calmed down told me he could not breath and he that's what scared him. A week earlier he had got a filling filled with no issue. My oldest was in the chair for a hour and a half with his mouth propped open waiting for someone to fill his two cavities. When I asked what's going on why it's taking so long one of the assistants told me to talk to the manager. The assistant was obviously irritated at the time. When I went to talk to the manager she was unavailable. I had to leave my oldest son there, with his mouth still propped open, while I went to the dentist down the road before they closed at 4, it was 3:45at the time, to get help for my younger son who has a unfinished root canal. I had to call a friend to come be with him while I left. The other dentist got me an appointment first thing the next morning. When I returned to talk to the manager she pulled me into her office and I asked her for the X-rays for my youngest. She didn't know what tooth on the X-ray was the one that needed the root canal or did she offer any help with figuring that out. I told her I don't know how to read the X-rays and she said she didn't either. Then she gave me two dutch bros cards for $5 and said "this is for you and your sons trouble. Finally got out of there a little after 4. This was a nightmare! read more

While services are relatively inexpensive (in comparison to other locations), the staff is somewhat disorganized and unprofessional. My mother scheduled an appointment for my little sister, and Apple Valley even called to confirm it. However, when we arrived ten minutes early, we were told that there was no existing appointment for her. The dental service also leaves a lot to be desired. Staff often seems hurried. Even if they are, that is no excuse to messily slather fluoride on my lips, rather than my teeth (where I presume that it belongs). Even the orthodontic services need some work! My little sister once broke her bracket immediately after leaving the office, despite not eating prohibited foods. When we took her back, they blamed her. A few months later, she had another appointment, and she left feeling uneasy about the work done on her braces, despite reassurance from an assistant. To address her worries, we scheduled a check-up for the following week. Flash forward seven days and the orthodontist is commending THE ASSISTANT for asking my little sister to check in after a week, as the work on her braces was not done well enough. A few of the receptionist are unpleasant and seem to be bothered or unhappy with performing their job. When there is miscommunication on their part I would expect a courteous and proffesional response. They give off the impression that you are inconveniencing them by inquiring about general info. They hire assistants to do an actual Dental Hygienist job so they can bill the insurance more and pay there employee less. Which the patient is getting less care from the clinic. I called to make my son an appointment there because their schedule seems to be very fitting to my work and his school schedule and the lady made me seem as if I am an inconvenience to her. I also work at a medical office so I know that some people just have bad days so I scheduled anyways and was excited to go in and see the office and experience the staff in person. Then the day before I get a call stating they cannot find my son under his insurance. She had to leave me a message so I called back and yet again must of caught someone on a bad day. She was not friendly and the original person I talked to took all the wrong information from me. So I just canceled my appointment. It's not right to work as a receptionist and not be friendly over the phone. And I'm even more upset because I need to get him in for a cleaning somewhere. I even told the lady nicely that I was going to cancel his appointment because I've had such a horrible experience just trying to make it and instead of fixing it or offering to help her response was "oh, okay...I've got that canceled for you".
