Dr. Mohlman persuaded us by saying she was "severely restricted", and leading me to believe she needed both tongue and labial (upper lip) frenulums "released" - the sooner the better. So we had it done that day- the laser is an intense, painful burn that takes a long time to heal. I discovered doing research after the procedure that 76% of babies can be diagnosed as 'lip-tied' and do not need treatment- they will grow out of it. It was traumatic and painful for her. Her mood shifted from happy and content to fussy and at times inconsolable. We were told after the procedure that we needed to consult with a lactation consultant and chiropractor because her mid-line base had been compromised. We didn't need either or those prior. I wish I had waited and done more research before the appointment (I'd done a fair amount, but not enough to give me sufficient confidence to disagree with a dental professional that I wanted to trust). I wish I'd not trusted him or his consultation.

By the time I was 12 I'd had every tooth in my head drilled and filled. So i'm a little freaked out by going again. But I've broken a tooth on a Christmas cookie and know it needs fixed, pulled, sealed. I don't know. Dr. Winterton and his staff made me feel good about getting it taken care of and looked at the options. I went with a crown, which they make in house. My co-worker says he has to wait a week for it to be sent out and go back for another appointment. I had some other work done and you know, it wasn't bad.
