The food is poorly prepared. Avoid Megan, a waitress that usually works the bar area. My fiancé inquired about the "triple bacon burger" and where the "extra" bacon would be, to which she replied, "yeah, it says on the menu what about the burger has triple bacon, it's in the patty".... I probably won't be going back to the location in Anderson, IN for a very long time, if ever. We were going to eat there last night but, after we checked in and were waiting, we were told that we could not wait inside for our table and that it was a CDC rule. I know that is not true because other places in my town are not doing that and they have not gotten into any trouble. I told the lady that it's very hot outside. It was 95° before the heat index. She told us that we still couldn't wait inside. So, they wanted us to stand around outside, in the heat and wait 30 minutes for a table, while we sweat our butts off. That is a big NO! We left and went to Cracker Barrel instead. They aren't treating their customers like dirt and making them stand outside to wait for a table. If the current policy at Applebee's is to make customers do that, then they may never get my money again. There is no reason for it other than stupidity and bad customer service. read more

My family and I have been driving all day and we are tired and hungry, Applebees is always a fan favorite so we came here to grab some dinner before the final few hours Home. The hostess was less than thrilled to serve us, we sat for a good 10-15 minutes and had not a single person acknowledge our existence. We left. No one even noticed. Good ol' Applebee's. The food is always great, and the servers are usually pretty awesome. I have been going to the Anderson location since I was a child, and it has always been great. Some of the newer menu items are not that great, such as the sizzlers. For one they stay extremely hot for too long to get to enjoy them, and then they are bland! Stick to the ribs and burgers. The fried green beans are very good too. I will always go back! read more

There's not a ton of selection in Anderson, and Applebee's has some pretty amazing deals if you're looking for something filling but not trying to break the bank. However, the past SEVERAL times I've been here, with my partner and with family, the service is terrible. Either the food is wrong, food is cold, a drink is forgotten, the server asks if we're doing okay from across the room, or worse, doesn't bother to check at all. I love the food here and the variety, but the service is just so not worth it. I keep going back hoping it will change, but it doesn't look like it's going to anytime soon. This Applebee's has proven wrong the generally accepted belief that 'chain restaurants' only offer average fare and mediocre service. My wife and I have made the Anderson Applebee's our 'no brainer' for a great, reasonably priced dinner on her "I don't feel like cooking" nights. She always orders the broiled salmon w/artichoke which she always raves about and my 'regular' is the broiled steak with shrimp and cheese sauce. High-dollar steak house quality w/o the high price! We had dinner there last night and we had the pleasure of being served by Shannon, an effervescent young lady who treated us like old friends from the moment we were seated. She provided us with the usual super service we expect from this Applebee's and rated an email of praise to the boss! The quality of food and service at this Applebee's makes it obvious that only the 'best of the best' are selected to join this location's first-class food service team. read more

First they took my drink order and i wanted diet mt dew. But they gave me normal mt dew. Then we go a order of cheese sticks and they did not give any plates, so we had to eat of napkins. They they got my order wrong because the waitress could not remember the god damn menu. And the food is cold and it tastes bad. read more

I had the worst service ever. My waitress left our food in the kitchen so long that when she gave it to us it was cold. Also we ordered a hamburger and the bun so so hard you could knock on it. In all I think that they should have had more cooks, and our waitress gave everyone there food that had came after us then gave us our food later on. read more

We were traveling home and decided to stop for lunch at this Applebees. Big mistake. The greeter was friendly and the manager sat us right away, telling us that, "if there was anything we needed just to let him know." The waitress came by after about 5 minutes and took our drink order. She brought our drinks and since we were still deciding on what to order she said she'd be back. That was the last we saw of her. Another waitress taking care of another section was taking orders from people who were seated after we were. We kept looking around for either our waitress or the manager and neither could be found. After 15 minutes, we got up and left. We couldn't believe that she would just leave us there and not return to take our order. Went to the Olive Garden on Scatterfield Rd. and had terrific wait service and good food. We will never return to this Applebee's again, ever. read more

Was greeted as soon as my wife and i came in, which is great. However, everything after that wasnt so great. Dirty table, food on our booth, our waiter (didnt introduce himself and no nametag) who rushed us through the menu, etc. Ordered a beer and a long island ice tea for my wife. Got drinks pretty quickly, placed order for food. Requested medium rare on both of our steaks, but received well done. It was tough and burnt, not how we wanted it. Didnt even receive my mac and cheese when my food came out. The cook apparently "forgot" it. Waiter came and asked if i wanted another beer, i said sure. 15 mins later and it sitting on the bar i just went up and got it myself. Wouldve enjoyed drinking a cold beer with my steak, not after my meal. Most definitely will not be going back to this location. read more

I'm still sitting at Anderson Applebees without a meal after 1 hour, despite being delivered a cold hamburger 3 times. The server delivered the first burger at 6:30pm, then promptly swiped the plate away (the other meals at my table had not been delivered). At 6:50pm I was delivered the exact same plate again that had been sitting under a heat lamp. The server apologized and again swipe away the plate and brought another plate... with yet another cold hamburger... that he continued to leave sit in front of me after apologizing for the plate also being cold. I asked twice for a manager before Matt came to the table and argued with me that the same plates had not been delivered 3 times! The manager said he removed the charge (kind of him since they have yet to deliver any food to me). My receipt showed my plate charged twice before being finally removed. There was no other offer to compensate me or my 2 friends besides "cook me another hamburger." The server apologized again. I'm completely flabbergasted at the nonchalant attitudes. The server just now stopped to say if we come back again, they will definitely take good care of us. I thought they should have taken better care of us THIS time. My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a busy Saturday evening. We are new to Anderson, but have frequented Applebee's all over the country, we have always had great food, and great service.....except this visit. Our host was very friendly and seated us right away. The table (and chairs) were unfortunately, dirty....as was the silverware. Not being difficult people, we just asked for extra napkins and cleaned the area ourselves. Our server, unfortunately, was one of the most unfriendly people that I have met since moving to the area. She started out ok, no smile, or greeting but at least took our drink order. She came and took our food order, and I can only assume that she was unhappy that we ordered the 2 for 20.00 special. From that point on, she was rude and abrupt, she went so far as to bring our appetizer and dinner out all together, dropped everything on the table, and walked away with not a word! The food was good as usual, but we ate quickly and paid our check feeling quite uncomfortable. We only left her a 15 percent tip, and we usually tip 20 to 25 percent....hopefully others who are similarly treated will follow suit. We will not return to this Applebee's....the are plenty of others close by. read more
