Very disappointed we came in got seated right away, bout the only good deal. Got our drink order I ordered a margarita and they brought me a different drink, had to wait for the bartender she seemed to o Lynne worried about the bar instead of drink orders out in by the wait staff,watched walk around the bar talking to everyone at the bar for about 5 mins before she noticed back up of servers waiting for their drinks , got appetizer then waited for the other appetizer was told they was out then watched the table sat after us get the appetizer we was told they was out of... someone ordered a chicken sandwich with just mayo and lettuce and it came out loaded the pasta was cold and the chicken was VERY dry and cold waitress did come and get refills once ordered another drink and had to cancel it because he had ate and was getting our bill and still hadn't been made said something g to the waitress as she was frustrated with the bar service too watched someone who looked like a manager come out and talk to one table..... and that was it didn't address our concerns.... Let me start by saying the first thing that was said to us after being seated is they are short staffed. OK fine. We ordered the pick 3 for lunch. Riblets, quesadia, and wanton tacos. This was probably the worst food I have gotten in a sitdown restaurant in a very long time. The riblets had some funky after taste. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. Both were delivered in a timely manner. We aked for plates but NEVER SEEN THE WAITRESS AGAIN. This isn't the first time we've had issues at this apple bees. Remember when you eat here if you asked for anything special that is different from the menu there will be an up charge. And they won't tell you about it when you place your order! When the bill comes and it shows the suggested trip levels those are all calculated upon the price of the meal including the tax! This Applebee's fits the standard for Applebee's. The facility was clean and in good repair as you would expect - especially the rest rooms. The staff was very friendly and professional - even during a peak time. Staffing was appropriate for the time of day. The food was consistent with what you would order at another Applebee's. Most of the time I eat here I have a good meal and this was no exception. The food was delicious. It was kinda quiet in here today. I think they were short staffed. We got a seat right away but others had to wait for tables to be cleaned off. As one of my sides I ordered a salad and it was a good size portion. This Applebees sometimes is spot on and other times it is kind of iffy. Just coming in after their reopening due to the COVID-19 quarantine, they did a wonderful job today. After each customer is done and has left, they sanitize each workspace and even a little pay kiosk that is on the table. They give you menus to use and then destroy them when you are done so you can't pass them on to someone else. All of the workers are wearing PPE and doing their best to keep the customers and themselves safe. Lastly, for me, a big deal is that they have gluten sensitive items on their menu. This is a big plus for those of us with Celiac Disease. So, thank you very much. My meal was wonderful. read more

If I could go lower than a 1, I would. Went in at 2 o'clock on a Monday afternoon, little to no crowd. Sat for 20 minutes before getting drinks, another 30 for meals, and finally got our bill 1 hour and 45 minutes into our sit. Took 50 minutes to get a refill on my drink, that they brought out right before they gave us our bill. Will never go back. Manager spent more time flirting than attending customers. Good place to eat ... HORRIBLE place to work . Another co-worker whom was a cook & myself a server , have both been terminated after getting incarcerated . No matter the length of being Incarcerated (both different lengths of time) they have said we no longer work there due to not "communicating with them about the situation". How could we communicate when we was incarcerated , especially if neither one of us had anyone to call up there & Inform them of either one of our situations ? Also , there was 2 other employees (that I know forsure of) who has been incarcerated while working there & has not been terminated . One of which was incarcerated at the same time as myself ... And who is also a "favorite person" of the store , she still currently has her job . Other person who was incarcerated while working at the Anderson Applebee's is a black male . He also still currently works there . Are / was they scared that the race card would be pulled ? No , why would they? There turn over rate is high as to be expected for such a low grade family restaurant , that doesn't seem to care to much about how they treat there employees cause well in there heads I'm sure they're thinking "everyone is replaceable in this line of work" . Which is true .. but it's also kinda fucked cause basically if your not a "favorite" or of "color" that would put them in an "oh shit , oh no " position then well being incarcerated working there is not a problem but you won't have your job when you get out . For myself in the situation I am "non rehirable" . For why being incarcerated? For not communicating ? Seems a little harsh for someone who's only ever been written up for being tardy ? This place was not even busy when we visited. There were maybe half of the tables filled. Our waitress, Kristy, was very nice at first. Then she asked if we wanted another round of drinks, which we agreed to. Then she was no where to be seen, we were charged for the drinks and never got them. As we ask for the check so we can leave, a good 25 minutes later, she brought our drinks to us... which had been sitting at the bar on the counter for the whole time. I live right in the middle between Greenfield and Anderson and decided to try Applebee's at Anderson. Ordered wonton tacos as usual but they were very poorly made. The tacos barely had anything on them and the tacos were harder than usual. It was not busy and the last tacos chicken was cold. Well done surprising me and exceeding expectations! I not an Applebee's fan typically, but had been directed here for a business mtg. The service was incredibly fast, and friendly. The manager was doing a great hob and the servers even treated each other with deference and respect. Several times when standing in an odd spot I was asked if I had been helped, and the manager even touched in well to serve. Everyone was fast but not harried. The food came quick and hot--and was amazingly healthy off new menu. I would not normally ever pick an Applebees for a business lunch meeting but everytime I'm to meet in Anderson now I will. Before you judge me, I didn't choose to go here. I've never cared for Applebee's. If I'm going to eat at one of the casual dining chains, I'd pick Chili's, Houlihans or O'Charley's any day of the week. But this location was especially bad for me. How can you mess up fried cheese sticks? Seriously?! BBQ boneless wings were good, about on par with Wendy's. But more expensive. I had a bland, unimaginative steak for my entree. I ordered medium-rare and it came about well-done. I would've sent it back had I seen our waitress. Plus the replacement probably would've been bloody and tasteless, instead of dry and tasteless. Nobody else at my table enjoyed their meals, except for the girl who wanted to go here. She really love those skillet sizzler things... We still left our bitter waitress an 18% tip, just out of common decency. But then I wrote on the check "You were a terrible waitress and didn't deserve this tip. Enjoy!". I really showed her! All I have to say about this place is portions are small and food is cooked dead. My girlfriend ordered a burger and the waitress asked her if she wanted pink or no pink she asked for a little and the burger came out completely dead. Her dad ordered a burger with pink and his was also dried and dead. I ordered the pulled pork tacos and there was so little meat in them and toppings that you could see the inside of the shell on either side of the little bloop of meat. Also everyone got the smallest portions of fries we've received since moving to Indiana. Can't recommend coming here and won't come again. read more

We got take-out, which was ordered online, for dinner tonight. The boneless buffalo wings were cold, but still fairly tasty and our entrees were decent. The sirloin was ordered medium, which it appeared to be, but was kind of mealy in texture. I'm not sure what happened to it. The thing that ruined the meal were the 2 Caesar side salads. We paid $8 extra for old nasty romaine lettuce that got thrown directly in the trash. Word to the wise... Skip the salad on take-out. If I could give a 0 I would. This store has poor servers and managers that doesn't care. you really need to get new manger and staff. Anderson business are quickly failing and this location at this rate won't be far behind. We said she need to hire new staff and I said she needs to find a new job. (referring to waitress until the manager snarkly said excuse me did you just tell me to find a new job. I then said yes. Only for her to then start causing a scene in restaurant. My husband went to pay so we could leave and he asked me how he can pay if nothing is showing. She snapped back and flew past us said I guess I will just take care of your alls meal just go. Our experience today was sub par to say the least. We were seated fairly quick. Took far too long to get our drink order taken and then even longer to actually receive our drinks. Appetizers came out quickly and were yummy. Food followed quickly after. Again everything was delicious. Drinks stayed empty. We asked for mayo and never received it. One of us paid cash and one of us used a card. Card on the kiosk was effortless. Getting change from the cash transaction was ridiculously too long. Filthy. My wife and I have enjoyed many Applebee's restaurants around the country and always been pleased. We just finished dinner at the Anderson IN Applebee's and it was very sub par. The service was ok, the steaks were not good at all, one was inedible. The booth we were seated in was filthy, the seats were stained and extremely dirty, the sun shades looked like they had vomit on them,afraid to imagine what the kitchen is like. When we showed the manager and waitress the mgr. just said "thanks for bringing it to our attention". No apologies for the food or the filth. Never again will I trust this Applebee's. read more

We were told there was a 20 minute wait, when only two of the bar top tables were filled. When I ask why we couldn't sit in the bar area, the girl seating us copped a major attitude and said "I don't want to overwhelm the girl, I just sat someone in her section!!". I probably won't be going back to the location in Anderson, IN for a very long time, if ever. We were going to eat there last night but, after we checked in and were waiting, we were told that we could not wait inside for our table and that it was a CDC rule. I know that is not true because other places in my town are not doing that and they have not gotten into any trouble. I told the lady that it's very hot outside. It was 95° before the heat index. She told us that we still couldn't wait inside. So, they wanted us to stand around outside, in the heat and wait 30 minutes for a table, while we sweat our butts off. That is a big NO! We left and went to Cracker Barrel instead. They aren't treating their customers like dirt and making them stand outside to wait for a table. If the current policy at Applebee's is to make customers do that, then they may never get my money again. There is no reason for it other than stupidity and bad customer service. read more
