Went here tonight to have dinner with family, of its Friday & there busy . We were waiting for a seat to open up in the bar area. The hostess put us on the list. As a table was cleaning, , we went to sit, as a lady proceeded to sit there also. Long story short the manger came up to let her know that we had been waiting before she walked. We recently visited Applebees Restaurant 1585 E 6th St. in Beaumont Ca for a surprise 90th Birthday Luncheon on Sunday July 27, 2025 at 11:00 am. We asked for an area in the restaurant that could accommodate approximately 15-19 people. The restaurant was clean with a nice ambiance. The Management and staff quickly arranged tables and set ups for our party that went far and beyond our expectations. The level of service and care we received was outstanding. The attentiveness, friendliness, professionalism, and attention to details was beyond our expectations. Our server Tori-Shabrea W. was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations and the prices were reasonable for the generous portions we received. For such a large party, The taste and quality of food was excellent. Everyone received their meals at the same time with several members of the staff bringing our orders. The restaurant even allowed us to bring in a cake to serve for desert. The birthday recipient was pleasantly surprised to see so many family and friends. So...the waitress was super kind, friendly and attentive. However, the food was absolute slop. I ordered a simple burger & fries. What I got was a head of lettuce with a mediocre beef patty at best. The meat was odd in shape, burnt and had no flavor what so ever. I should have known when I overheard the female manager tell her employees to refill the ketchup bottles with whatever they can for the vacant tables. What restaurant refills ketchup bottles. I then watched the same manager laugh and giggle with some patrons she obviously knew at the table directly across from me after I asked to speak with her. So, let me start with, this is not a review of the food. We never got any. The host sat us in a section where there were no service people working. He is the kid with long hair. We sat there for 15 minutes waiting and waiting, with no one coming by. We ordered appetizers and I ordered the spinach dip with chips. My husband ordered the buffalo wings or breast. I can't remember if they were boneless. I've been coming to this location for some time now. The food is either good or terrible, the service is always great though. Last week I was in the bar , enjoying some drinks while watching the NBA game. I saw a server named zack really going out of his way for every table and seemed to me that he was going to the dining room and cleaning tables and helping other servers. I love apples bees I'm always at Moreno Valley/Riverside locations . This my first time here and don't want be that person but the service was sad. Got offered no water , has ask for napkins , servers passed us back and forth and finally got recognized after 15 min. After or orders were taken we were ghost. I'd finished my meal before I was even able get a second drink ordered from the bar. I had walk up to bar and was still ignored as the bartender said hold on , so sat back back at the table and waited 15 minutes to be able order another long island. I went with my cousin. Our favorite man, Armando, was NOT there, which is why I feel this place a FLOP tonight. (We loved Armando 11 months ago. We're unsure if he's still with this, now sad, establishment). The food was fine, as usual. We ordered wings, cheese bites, wonton tacos and a salad. The server seemed VERY rushed. We got our cheese bites and our wonton tacos, and enjoyed those while we had them. The food runner girl comes out, tried handing us another plate of wonton tacos, then got an attitude when we politely let her know we only ordered one... The waiter would come by and ask if we were okay. We said yes, assuming we'd be getting our salad and our wings soon. He comes around again about 10 minutes later. He asked if we were good. We still thought we were waiting for the wings and the salad, so we said yeah, we are good. Then he came back soon after that with our bill. We looked at each other, and I told her to check the receipt for the wings and the salad. The wings were put on the receipt, despite never getting them. We made this one lady aware that we haven't seen our waiter in a minute but would like to let someone know we never got our wings. She took them off our bill, and then we had the card ready to pay. Our waiter finally came by, said he'd bring us the wings we never got. He didn't even apologize. Plus, my salad was never even acknowledged as an item we ordered. We politely declined the wings, and told him we were ready to pay. I understand being in a rush, as I work in a VERY busy restaurant myself, but this understaffed establishment only seems to get business because it's one of the few very KNOWN restaurants in Beaumont. Last night we had a party of 8 . Everyone was served at different times . The two and a half year old's plate came last . A chicken taco was ordered for her . Instead she received a chicken quesadilla . I ordered my favorite the prime rib dipper with pepper Jack cheese . The bread was hard , the meat was overcooked and no sign of pepper Jack cheese as well as being cold in the middle. My 84 year old mother and granddaughter ordered chicken tenders that were over cooked. My son in law ordered 6 dollaritas and told the waitress to put everything on his bill some how she thought he wanted a second round of Dollaritas. We're not a stranger to Applebee's only due to the fact that it's really one of the few sit down restaurants in the Beaumont/Banning area. That being said their menu is misleading, the bourbon street chicken and shrimp...five small, very small shrimp, chicken was quite dry & the loaded mashed potatoes were OK but a little cold. Then we have the four cheese mac & cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders, this is not your normal mac & cheese this is Applebee's mac & cheese. It's penne pasta with some type of cream possibly an Alfredo sauce. There is no mac & cheese involved, very disappointing. So when you look at the back menu 2 for $20, or 2 for $30, etc. menu make sure you check the actual full menu to find out what you're getting and ask questions. The food was okay, we ordered an order to be picked up. Burger was hot, salad good. My issues have more to do with the ordering app. I requested my meat pink, no lettuce, no tomato with cheddar. Went to add that to my order, and it told me I was leaving something unchecked. I went back, had to recheck that I wanted pink meat, no lettuce., no tomato and cheddar cheese. No biggie, my husband and I were talking, thought I might have done it wrong. However, it still didn't let me process, so I want back and checked pink meat again. Left a note about the no lettuce, no tomato, and cheddar cheese in a space for you to make special requests. This time, it was processed. On my husband's order for the grilled chicken oriental salad. He requested extra dressing (.69) His went through, no problem. I paid, left the tip, and processed the order. When my husband picked up the order, he went inside, and there was no one there. Our order was sitting on the counter. He waited a bit, and no one came. He took the order and left. When he hot home, my burger had lettuce and tomato and no cheddar. He received no extra dressing. We looked on the receipt, and our requests weren't on it. So, the app apparently doesn't work right. (On the plus side, we didn't pay the extra either) What really frustrates me is that I don't think Corporate will ever know because I don't think management reads these reviews, and I couldn't find anywhere to comment to Corporate. Went there this evening. The nachos in appetizers were crumbs and broken like they shook from the bottom of a bag. The broccoli I got was rotten and brown in four pieces of which three they had already taken away on the nasty chip tray. Went there for lunch with my three kids today. Server was nice. Meal came out quick. My complaint is the fact they are only at 50% capacity due to covid but have one server (that's got to be 6 months pregnant), another person who I'm assuming is the bar tender and the manager working the front of the house and service is subpar (has been years before covid so don't even come at me with that excuse). Took FOREVER to get Togo boxes and finally had to walk up with my card and check to find someone to run it so we could leave. Only to be given an attitude and a "sorry, we are busy"....not an recuse and actually, no it wasn't actually really busy...I've seen when it's busy. "Can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen!" If you three can't handle the restaurant at half capacity, then stop seating people so you can at least do your job 100%. Also, as someone who has worked during this pandemic helping another restaurant owner that is short staffed and someone who has been in the restaurant industry for 20 years, PREBUS! Customers DO NOT like to sit with a ton of empty plates, trash and cups in front of them, refill drinks before their cup has sat empty for 15 min in the middle of their meal, and for the love of god, we know you are all hot from running around but your customers don't like to sit in a freezing cold restaurant (this place is always freezing cold).
