Found Top Dog not too long ago after going to Whiskey Republic for awhile. I absolutely love it here. The bartenders here are too sweet. Met one of the new girls here and thought she was just perfect. I believe her name is Jocelyn. Also Gilly is absolutely amazing and sweet everytime I come in. Then we have the amazing Chandra who makes the best food as well. Thank you Top Dog for being a great place to relax. Note you may experience a bad time here, but 99% of the rest of the time, it's always good. Know your timing and who's working, as each experience is always great. Monday's with Chloe, always great. Chloe works hard, keeps every guest and happy when she's working the bar. Hailie every Tuesday & Wednesday, she is always perfect. Every time Hailie is working, she is always on her game, and never misses a single thing. Food on time, Drinks on time. Always smiling, always entertaining, always worth every second of time. Never had worse service ever. 3 of my friends and I went in after a round of golf and ordered food and a beer each. We asked for separate tabs and we got instant attitude. We said we could work it out if she wanted to put it on one tab and she asked for our credit cards to hold our tabs open. We gave her our cards and ordered food. Then she had an argument with a customer at the bar for snapping his fingers to ask for a lime for his beer and she began throwing limes at him and 86d him. 2 of us got our food and the 2 others had to wait an extra 20 minutes for theirs. When one of my friends asked when the food was coming she got crazy and started yelling from behind the bar. We decided we were gonna close out our tabs and leave. I asked to pay my tab with cash and she wouldn't give me my card back and said I was 86d AND TOOK A PICTURE OF MY CREDIT CARD! I told her "You are NOT taking a picture of my credit card." And she did anyway. When I finally got my card back she repeated that I was 86d and I told her there's no need to because we're NEVER coming back. She asked if we were from Palm Springs and said her bar was full of regulars as if that was a threat. I've bartended for almost 30 years and have never witnessed such horrible service in my life. This was my first time back in almost 4 to 5 months. As soon as you walk in, you notice a total change in the interior with new paint and shutters. New tables and chairs as well. My understanding is it changed owners or is co-owned by one of the staff there. So whatever she did make it look a lot more appealing and enjoyable. The service is still fantastic depending on what time of the day and week you go. Service might be a little delayed because they are busy. In my opinion, it looks a little better than just your average dive bar. It's more comfortable. My only gripe and disappointment are by 9 o'clock when the DJ starts playing, the music is so loud that you start to yell with the people you went with. When we sat at a table, I was the third person over and couldn't hear anything that was being said. The two people sitting next to each other had to yell at each other. Just be able to hear themselves. And so we had to leave because it was just ridiculously loud. It's not a nightclub so the music doesn't have to be loud. Unfortunately, we had to go to a bar uptown that has music but is not as loud. But I recommend this bar but you'll have to go to form your own opinion. Make sure you stay past 9 o'clock. read more
