Come to Belleville any night of the week and the most crowded parking lot is Applebee's. I for one do not get it at all. I will preface this review by saying I have never been to an Applebee's I like. I find the food bland except for the oddly overspiced things like fries and the selection lacking variety or imagination. This Applebee's though is almost my hero because they managed to turn my formerly Applebee's loving hubby off of Applebee's forever. Yay! They always overcooked everything, rubbery chicken, overfried anything, don't get me started on already poor choices of steak. My salads were never fresh enough and honestly I struggled to pick anything else from the menu as it usually made me pretty nauseous. From the tough ribs to numbing down his prior fave tequila lime chicken into uber dry fiesta lime chicken (which really sucks), well even my husband could no longer deal. I think the true breaking point was one night when we stopped in for dessert, the maple butter blondie was served to us dried out, obviously stale and burnt the first batch. The second was naturally still stale and dried out because the batch was, at least they did not burn it. They then decided to tell my husband that is how it always is. Not a smart move at all. It resulted in him dropping money on the table and walking out on the spot. We have never had to return. Sorry to say even for an Applebee's this place sucks worse than the norm. read more

This visit was not the best.. I took my kids and mom the service was very very slow...We ordered two appetizers boneless wings and spinach artichoke dip which came out a few minutes before the meal. The meal was a MW steak, a fajita wrap, mac and cheese bacon pasta with chicken strip dish, and a kids meal cheese pizza with fries. The quality was not up to par, the mashed red skin potatoes microwaved and pasty. The spinach dip runny and had a hardened cheese floating on top. I did not try the wings my mom and son said they were fine. The wrap was decent I do like the pico de gallo. My mom said her pasta was just okay a bit bland and chicken strips slightly overcooked. We also had a mishap with my son's drink there was a melted crayon on the inside of glass...my son didn't notice right away and to say the least..not pleasant. My children like Applebee's it is one place they both agree on so that's why we went but quality has been declining. Service was okay but slow the back of the house very slow. On a positive some decent happy hour specials including 3 buck apps however not worth ordering if they arrive moments before meal and yucky after being under a heat lamp to long... Applebee's?! More like Crapplebee's am I right? Seriously though - this place sucks. I honestly can't believe there are hundreds of these places still across America. It's hard to give this place a legit review when everyone should already know coming here is probably the worst choice you can make during your day besides maybe punching a baby or pushing an old lady off her electric scooter and then hopping on it and backing over her. I will concede their new menu is better than their old menu but, everything here is still a half step above a Swanson's Hungry Man TV Dinner. Most of the meats are clearly frozen and a lot of the stuff you will order comes out way too hot - which is a tell tale sign of a microwave being employed. I can microwave shit at my house, why do I want to drive all the way here and pay these clowns to do it for me? I'm lazy but not that lazy. There are just soooo many better places to eat, why do you even want to bother? I will say though this location had a couple of things going for it if I still can't talk you out of coming down here. We came in about 8:30 and there were at least 3 people cleaning. My negative self automatically assumed there was some type of inspection tomorrow but nonetheless, I have been some places a dozen times and never saw a single person cleaning so, I am happy to give credit where it's due. Also, the service was very good. Attentive, competent, friendly - and not just our server but, the others around us were similarly solid to their customers. The trifecta of what you'd want/expect. Which begs the question why a good server would want to work at Applebee's. But I digress. If you must go here the sriracha shrimp and beer cheese pretzel apps are decent, the quesadilla burger and bourbon street steak are also decent but all of this stuff is loaded with either sodium or MSG or both so, make sure you pound some waters. In closing, other restaurants that I've given 1 or 2 stars to should take notice. If I despise Applebee's but I'm willing to give them 3 stars well - you need to step your game up playa because you clearly aren't giving it your best effort. read more

Great Staff. Covid protocols in place. The place is always busy with regulars. You can't go wrong with the burgers or the bowls.

As far as Applebee's go, this is a pretty good one. I always sit at the bar, so I don't have too much to comment as far as wait stuff goes. But, Cassie, the bartender, is a pretty darn good bartender. She doesn't have to write down your order, but everything still comes out 100% correct. Even I'm pretty busy nights, the food still comes out in a timely manner, and drinks are still good. read more

I ordered online for car side to go this is my 3rd time for this location and this is the SLOWEST! It tells you a time it'll be ready and its 20+ more minutes until it actually is! The spots are always held up by the long waits and very few spots! I try to give a place a few tries because you never know but this place is consistently SLOW! Usually Applebee's as a chain is very subpar but tonight the experience was quite exquisite. I had the best server ever Dylan was funny and made my time here enjoyable. I have never been more certain on something: the only reason this place is making it, is because of the lack of options of places in belleville to eat. Since my last review, we still come here. Still letdown everytime. CORPORATE: you guys need to come here and train this staff! I am begging you. You have to get this place together. HOSTESSES: need work. Three of them standing there last night couldn't greet us because they had to finish a conversation first. They over seat your waitstaff. I've seen servers almost everytime, have too many tables and the service goes down the drain at this point. SERVERS: are either unprofessional (made fun of my boyfriend's last name, talk to you like they are at a bar with a friend rather than a customer), or overwhelmed. Orders are wrong at least once EVERYTIME, and I'm not kidding, everytime we've come here (with I think 3 exceptions. They're few enough i could actually count). Simple requests like asking for more dressing when I place my order, don't happen and then by the time I see them again and can ask, when I finally get something as simple as that, my entree is out. We pretty much don't bother asking for anything anymore because of how long we wait. Your servers cannot multitask, and do not know how to time tables as to when when they should fire their food in the P.O.S systems. Many who don't write things down and think they're fine, also always screw up our food (who am I kidding? Last night he wrote everything down, and everything I ordered was wrong) KITCHEN: if your only options for how you want your beef is, "pink or no pink", then your kitchen has messed up food so much that they can no longer let a customer really get it how they want. We had a night once we had to send our burgers back THREE TIMES (boyfriend twice, and mine once), because it was disgusting pink or dried out and burnt. Menu items are inconsistently prepared. I order the same thing often, and everytime it's different. I have to be so specific when I order it because of that. MANAGEMENT: you aren't checking on tables enough. Engaging with them. Being visually on the floor. If in a year and a half of coming here I've only seen you come to our table TWICE, when we've had a mishap pretty much everytime? That's bad. Now I have to stop eating my salad that I waited forever for (and got a few bites from), to eat my dip before it's cold. Trying to rush because I know my entree is coming. Sure enough, my entree comes out. And it's wrong. I wanted the chicken wonton stir fry with only rice, sauce, broccoli, and chicken. It had shrimp, and a lot of other veggies in it. Boyfriend asked for no salt on his fries, they have definite salt. Soooooo it wasn't rang in correctly, or the food runner didn't check the ticket before taking the food out. I tell the runner EXACTLY what I want on it; rice, dude, chicken, broccoli. Boyfriend gets new fries and they're corrected. MY ENTREE WAS WRONG AGAIN. For some reason, has onions and mushrooms in it. I hate both. So I'm back to waiting. My boyfriend is trying to pace his food so I'm not eating alone. And then, the third entree comes.... and it's right! The kid knocked 5 bucks off, but not once did a manager come by. You guys gotta get it together there (besides maybe the bar, they seem to be on top of things), because I see other people frustrated constantly when they eat here too. Whenever I go to this Applebee's location, it's because the group I'm with wants something more upscale than the coney island down the road. In this case, "upscale" refers to the pricing, not the quality of food. On the plus side, we always get seated quickly and it is decorated nicely with references to local sports and attractions. That's it for pluses. On the downside, once at a table, it always takes 4ever to get service. The wait staff is usually nice and they take down orders accurately. Getting those orders in a timely manner or getting their attention later on is a study in futility. The food we can afford to order is generally good. The less you pay, the smaller the portions. Until I win the lottery, I will not order their $10+ burgers. Their menu seems to have improved over time, but it's still too expensive for a chain. If you're into people watching, you'll be in overdrive at this location. Always an interesting crowd. I do appreciate that they support local businesses and veterans though. On a final note, I intensely dislike their new ordering/payment system at the table. I'm quite computer-savvy, but don't trust my info is protected on these table-top devices. The 3 grilled chicken slices that sat above the pile of pasta had all indications that they had been grilled; grille marks, a slight grilled flavor and served on their own they might have been considered average. Once you got past that, it was down to tasteless cheese sauce over pasta with a few diced tomatoes sprinkled in for good measure. I was totally underwhelmed. This dish was served with a piece of garlic toast that once again.... (say it with me) had no flavor and was almost inedible. I need dishes that make me happy, not dishes that bring me down. Visited this location for the first time last night. My son and I enjoyed a couple of delicious steaks. I ordered medium rare, as did he. They were perfectly prepared. We had steamed broccoli I had fries, and he had bacon Mac and cheese. Yes I said BACON. Delish. Service was good. We were seated promptly and even enjoyed a few rounds of trivia on the table set while we waited for our food. Also we enjoyed the appetizers. I'm very annoyed with Applebee's right now. The food is good and you'll be happy if you dine in. But do NOT get them to go/delivery because they always underserve you and I don't understand why... like does the chef prepare less when he hears that it's a delivery or it's to go. When I dine in, I can't finish my food. When I get it to go, my plate is ALWAYS half empty. And I don't even eat a lot, but it's the principle of it! Been here several times in the past 45 days and it is a good place for reasonably priced good food. I have had the appetizer sampler(pretty doggone good), Garlic Parmesan Steak(excellent), Hamburgers(good), & Fiesta Lime Chicken(Excellent). My daughter Cihrstan and I had the pleasure of having Han for our waiter. He is such a pleasant individual. He seemed to be a tad overwhelmed, however, he still provided excellent customer service. Not only did he provide good customer service to my daughter and I, but to the surrounding customers he was waiting on as well. We want there on Thursday afternoon around four and it wasn't to busy, very nice hostess. We started with drinks, my husband ordered a diet Pepsi and I ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade( it was so delicious , best one I ever tasted) highly recommend this drink. Then we both wanted burgers so we both got Cowboy burgers medium well no pickles and steak fries. I'm definitely done coming to this location. I had food missing from a curbside order (onion rings), and when I tried to call and speak to someone about it, I could never get through to the manager. I told the staff member that answered that we were missing the onion rings but didn't want to come back out again so we wanted a refund for it, they said they would connect me to the manager. I waited on hold for about 10 minutes and then it would hang up. Called back and they transferred me to the manager again, waited about another 10 and then I cut off again. I called back and they said they were busy and asked if I could leave my name and number and they would get back to me which I did but they never called. After spending 20 minutes trying to get through I was over it so I never got my money back for the missing food. We ordered again last night and one of our items was boneless wings with Buffalo and Asian chili on the side. We were given wings covered in Buffalo sauce and not even given the extra side of Asian zing sauce that we were charged for. Thankfully I asked my husband to thoroughly check the food after what happened that last time and he noticed while in the parking lot. When he went in and told them about the mistake, they told him it would be another 25 minutes to get it fixed. I get that they are busy but 25 minutes to wait for your food to be fixed on a carry out order? It's not like we were sitting in the restaurant and could eat the rest of our food while we waited. I've gone here a lot and in restaurant service is usually pretty good with any mistakes on food quickly fixed but we always seem to have bad luck with curbside/carry out. read more

Worst service, poorly managed Applebee's ever! Waited over 15 min to give our order and nearly another 30 minutes for food with a rude server. Lots of non-servers standing around. Food order came in pieces but at least it finally showed up. Steak overcooked, foos presentation was bad and we practically had to beg for drink refills. When my daughter asked how much longer on the food she was told "You'll get it when it's ready." NICE TOUCH!! When will we learn to check yelp before we get out of the car? Most of my experiences here have been good. The four cheese mac and cheese with honey bbq chicken tenders is my all time favorite. Sadly it is not on the 2 for $25 menu anymore but thats not stopping me. They have a few waitresses who have been there for a while and they are amazing. We come here occasionally just because it's one of the closest affordable restaurants. The food is pretty standard for every Applebee's but the service is almost always terrible. When you get seated every time it's at least ten minutes before a server comes to the table and another five or ten before drinks come. After that refills are almost impossible to get and when your food comes you probably won't see your server until your done and have to wait another ten minutes for your check. read more
