Went in for a drink and wings with my hubby and had a great time, there are a-lot of happy hr specials such as apps and cocktails which can be a great deal while you sit wt the bar to watch the game. We had a margarita, whisky sour both were weak but we aren't strong drinkers so it was great! I tried their passion on the beach valentine martini which was terrible it was way too sweet and syrupy! Honestly you can't beat the value. We ordered two 6 oz. sirloins and mozzarella stick appetizer for only $25! This is the perfect weeknight spot for when you want an inexpensive meal and don't feel like cooking at home. The food and drinks were both delicious. The server we had was quick and very nice! We never had to wait too long before getting our drinks or entrees. The interior of the restaurant was the classic Applebees style. Slow service, inattentive wait staff, the hostess cleaning tables sprayed windex on us as she was cleaning a nearby table, also kept staring, like unnervingly staring. 20 mins for a cocktail, beer and kiddy drink is redic. Server Kelly, was asked to bring multiple items; straw for a child's drink, a soda, a box multiple times. To the point where leftovers were going to be exactly that, left. 1 table in your section and horrible service, we only stopped out of convenience. I am giving a 4-star chain restaurant review. Meaning, as much as I typically don't go to chain restaurants , Applebees filled a need for lunch on Rte 23 today. Our service was quick, the young man seating was nice, our server Steven always had a smile and the manager stopped at our table. All excellent. To Alexander A, Man oh man what can i even say about Alexander A This man might have provided the best serivce i've ever had in my 35 years of life, this guy gave me food in a speedy fashion and the soda, the ice cubes this man picked were precise, my food was a perfect temerature. this beautiful man, i would let babysit my children. and let my daughter date. My kids will ask me "What was prime Alexander A like" and i will have so many words to say because of this excellent service. This young man is going places. He is kind, sweet, generous, brave, strong, and a handsome man. He had told me he donated $50k to charity last week which I think is so sweet a wholesome. I would find it very hard to believe that he doesn't have atleast 5 girlfriends back home. There were 10 of us that met at Applebee's in Butler for a family birthday celebration. We were all coming from distant states so our arrival times were staggered. Anyway, the staff could not have been more gracious, considering there was a busy lunch crowd on a Saturday. They patiently waited until we were all seated. I don't remember what everyone else ordered, but I had Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli and it was absolutely delicious. Our server brought out the cake at just the right time and all the staff sang to my sister who was delighted. The restaurant is conveniently located on art 23. There is plenty of parking. The manager here is absolute trash. I usually do not leave bad reviews - but this guy 100% deserves it. Shame on you, Steve. You are the absolute worst manager I could have ever met in an Applebees. He was totally disrespectful and I do not understand how he can manage an establishment. His mannerism was terrible, he was passive aggressive and thought I came in with an outside drink. I was waiting in this establishment for 30 mins before I sat and had a beverage at the bar. Yet told me that "I didn't get the drink from the bar". Sadly, he was wrong. I will never return to this location again being that STEVE the manager is absolutely terrible. I have also observed how he interacts with his female staff and it is very uncomfortable and uneasy for someone to watch. I have never had an issue with an Applebees manager let alone any staff member before. I will never forget the accusation this man has made and tried to make me uncomfortable in a place where I'll be paying to eat. Shame on you sir. Applebees is always a terrible idea but mom had a gift card and wanted to take us for lunch. Usually I can get away with having the tomato soup and pretzels here and be fine but this location has some serious issues in the kitchen. The pretzels had so much salt on them that there was literally a pool of salt under the pretzels. All of our food was overly salted. We all tried my husband's "bottomless boneless wings" and now me, my husband and stepson are all not feeling too hot. The bartender who was also our server was sweet and accommodating, which is why I gave two stars, not his fault the kitchen could care less about the food. read more

Love AppleBees we usually got to the one in Paramus But we were in Butler and thought we'd stop here...BAD IDEA... the red headed manager at the door was quik to say no to a high top and so rude we walked out. No way she should be greeting and the place was empty! We went 15 mins down 287 to Parsippany AppleBees ...excellent move the guy at the door was pleasant and sat us right down to a high top. Apparently when you place an order for carside pickup, it's the opposite and you have to walk in to pick up your order. I've placed orders for carside pickup (during times where they clearly were not packed or busy) yet after 20-30 min of waiting each time, I had to walk in to pickup my order and wait for someone to notice me standing there, only to realize that my food has been done for who knows how long and was just sitting on the shelf. They just weren't paying attention to the camera or didn't bother taking the time to walk it out. Horrible experience (edit: we arrived 10 min early just incase the order finished earlier than the pickup time given. However, we got a ton of take out here after a soccer game, and had a very pleasant experience with friendly and helpful staff during the time we were waiting for our order to be prepared . There's various specials at all Applebees, so it's smart to take advantage of these if you go there. Thank you Applebees in Butler for always giving to Veterans on Veterans Day. My father and I (both Veterans) have been coming to Applebees for 8 years up until his death this year. After hearing about the dollarita, I decided to suggest Applebee's for lunch. At first, I didn't get any takers. So I went on to explain about their dollarita special and everyone immediately changed their mind so off we went. For those who don't know, they are serving dollar margaritas this month as a special. How can you say no to that. The restaurant is nice and clean. Parking was very easy cause they have their own lot. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They told us about the unlimited dollarita special and we pretended that we didn't know about it. So here goes the first round, the drink itself wasn't bad. At $1 per drink, there was no complaints at all. We all pay a dollar for bottle water all the time so this is a steal comparing to that. We each ordered our food. I got the 2 signature special. Mac and cheese with pepper chicken tenders and clubhouse grill sandwich. They were both tasty and just right for lunch portion. Overall it was a good meal and the drink made it that much better. Paid an extra $3.99 for the ribs and $4.99 for a chili. This is what the $4.99 got us! I could have gone to Wendy's which is connected to this Applebee's and been much happier. Let me start this off saying that all this week was Teacher's appreciation. My principal had given me a list of places that did this 10% discount. That included Applebees as one of the places, select places. We had sat down and asked if we could get the 10% off if I showed my ID for working at a school. The waitress went and asked her manager. Came back with an answer of no. So we say oh well. Continue to order, which we come here at least a few times a month. Never had a problem. Never asked for a discount. So we finish our meals asking for dessert, letting them know it's my birthday also. They coke back and say they'll take something off. They only took 1.80 off which didn't come off anything. I am offended that they even gave me that much off, and shows hiw they appreciate their teachers. Never going back, I enjoyed two waitresses their buy it's seems the managers don't really care. read more

This place is constantly trying to improve and I find it to be one of the better Applebee's locations. Servers are friendly and food doesn't take a long time to come out. Menu is always changing for some reason, so I try not to get too attached to something. They've also just recently installed those little machines that allow you to play games, order drink refills, and pay your bill at the table- nice touch! read more

The service was best part of the evening. My wife had The Southwest Chicken bowl, she said it had no flavor, I had the rib ends, they were ok. But the most amazing part of the evening, I asked for salt and pepper, the waitress brought the salt, said she was looking for pepper. Food is still good but service is a bit slow. Probably due to being understaffed. Beware when paying your bill using their $10 gift card. Gave our waiter credit card plus gift card and was presented with the credit receipt with the $10 not being deducted. Asked why but was told it was applied. Pushed waiter further on this and was told he would get back to me shortly. Upon return, he apologized stating the gift card had not been applied, giving me the amended receipt.
