More like Luke warm. 2 bucks for 3 medium onion rings and 2 SMALL rings. Waitress simply disappeared. No help to be had. Would of sent the food back but after 6 minutes we where starving and just ate our cold food by then. Fries and rings both greasy. Whiskey burger in desperate need of more sauce. My family went to Reno yesterday and ate Applebee's. We walked in and we were seated after 15 mins. The wait and drive was worth it. My husband and I went to Applebee's again today in Carson because of the Applebee's in Reno. Let's just say if you want Applebee's make the drive to Reno. When we walked into Applebee's in Carson we were told we needed a reservation because of Covid. I get that. They did have seats right away. The server could of had a better tone when informing us. We sat down the server was prompt to take or order. Amazing doing the order. We received our food and the Buffalo wings were dry, the quesadilla were burnt. I did take a bite and it was horrid! I had to walk out after trying to be optimistic taking a bite of each product. I had my husband take over and he explained the food was horrible. They did ask to make it again. Just finished dinner at Applebees in Carson city. If I could give 0 stars I would. My food had 2 HAIRS in it. My friends chicken was completely raw. My husbands steak was raw and cold... my sons pizza was soggy and hard. we sat with empty drinks after our first serve. We were there for an hour and a half waited 45 mins to get our food, and another 30+ before we were able to report the issue. We ended up leaving instead of waiting for our food for the second time. First, I want to thank Applebee's for opening their dine-in in Carson City. I like to share my experience of what happened here recently. About two days ago my partner and I dine in to this Applebee's and we noticed our waitress Karen was actually quite unprofessional during our time there. First she offered us drinks and my partner ordered a beer. Of course from a long day of work an ice cold beer was very much needed. Karen told my partner that they didn't have any frosted cups or mugs and if he can just drink the beer right off from the bottle. So we didn't think much of it and said it was fine. Then about 5-10 mins later we saw a non-asian man sitting with his family a couple tables away from us ordered the same beer but that man was offer a frosted cup by his waitress. We thought to ourselves why did our waitress lied that they didn't have any frosted cups when her co-worker said they have plenty? So we decided to observe our waitress and omg I felt so discriminated. Action speaks louder than words and I what I saw and heard really upsets me that evening. I felt like our waitress was a bit racist & rude. I don't know what race Karen is but she's definitely not Asian. She looks Hispanic but I could be wrong. And yes my partner and I are both Asian. Our whole time there not onced did Karen visit our table unless we ask for something. She didn't even offer to refill our drinks when it was low, she didn't even check to see if we were doing ok or need anything. When we ask for help she look annoyed like she didn't want us there. Not only did she skip us, She was talking very unprofessional with her guests. She used profanity words while she was conversating with them and we can hear her! We sat in the middle booth between two other groups that she also serve and we watched her ask everyone if they were doing good or need anything except us. Everytime she walk past we felt like she ignore us because she didn't even look at us & her walk was like a power walk. I wasn't even done with my food and the tab was already on the table. I felt like she really want us out of there. Honestly, before we dine in we were having a pretty good day and we even want to end the night with some pretty tasty food but her action really ruined our appetite. Same grinder style that one could pick up at your local Kroger brand store :) NSF approved? I think not. (A promotion Applebee's implied: if there is a failure to suggest a gift card you get free ooie mozzarella sticks) she said if she didn't say something she would lose her job. What a thrill. Tomato Basil soup and and Fajita roll up. Chicken Fajita roll up excuse me. It's what's for dinner. First sip of soup, the kind of warm of soup you would serve your grandmother. Your grandmother who has ms and can't hold onto her spoon so well so you only make it semi warm so if she spills on herself it won't burn her. By the last bite my soup was cold. Salad croutons, I would say, classy touch. Check arrived, assuming I didn't want another beer to wash down my feelings of regret. (Check was wrong btw) Chicken fajita time. Uhh where is the sizzle? Why does it taste like Taco Bell? Why does it come with authentic thousand island dipping sauce? And why have I not gotten a new napkin yet? Turns out I ordered the wrap which comes pre wrapped so... no sizzle. I wonder if I'll have to visit the bathroom the same way in 25 min as I do when I I eat a beefy 5 layer. Thousand island is a traditional dipping sauce south of the Reo Grand turns out. Got my napkin after I asked, thank goodness. Paid my check via automated Table tablet FlaCarte. I don't have a "three strike rule", only two. I moved to Carson four years ago and tried this Applebee's twice since then - and I'm NEVER going back. Both time there were rocks in my mashed potatoes. I don't even remember how any other part of either meal was other than the ROCKS IN MY MASHED POTATOES!!! I'm not talking gritty, unclean potatoes. I mean rocks, over a millimeter each. Gravel might be a more descriptive word, to give you an idea. The first time I went, I pointed it out and my meal was free. Okay, that works I guess but I really wanted mashed potatoes. The second time I went, I figured that one time was a fluke and I'd try again. NOPE! Same thing - rocks in my mashed potatoes!! It had been well over a year between my Applebee's attempts and THE SAME ISSUE! When I pointed it our to the waitress, she actually stuck her finger in my mashed potatoes, stirred it around and said 'Oh yeah, huh!'. She didn't offer me another plate or anything - not that this was my wish but COME ON! I haven't been back and won't. If a restaurant has employees willing to dig around in my food for ROCKS, I certainly can't expect them to handle my dental bills when I crack my teeth. DISGUSTING!! read more

I've grown defensive of chains lately and find myself going to more just so I don't feel pretentious. I used to look down on them until I moved to Reno and started to miss all my chains back home. Just because I only wander into them a couple times a year doesn't mean they don't have their place. Overall,this revisiting of chains has been a pleasant surprise. The service tends to be better than in a lot of local places which for me is big part of my dining experience. There is a reason there thousands of Applebee's. It's consistently good food for cheap. There is the 2 for twenty deal. An appetizer and entree for 2 for 20. Also after 9PM, appetizers are half off. The highlight, they are open late. If you want dinner after 9PM and don't feel like wandering into a smoke filled casino, Applebees is your best bet. We both ordered pasta dishes (I know right in an Applebees?) but were surprised. At first, I was scared to visit this restaurant since it had 2 star rating only. But we still gave it a shot and I am glad we did. The food was very good. We tried the 2 for $20. For appetizer, we got wings with sweet and spicy sauce, BBQ sauce on the side. For entries, we ordered 7oz Steak (Fries and Mash Potatoes) and Chicken/Shrimp basket. Our server was one of the best servers we ever had. We even called the manager and told her how great our experience was. The place was very relaxing, and they had nice music (not very loud). They had cool tablets on the table so our friend's kid was busy playing which made our meal far more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. You won't regret it. read more

The waiter was very good. He communicated with us often and well, letting us know the status of our orders. I wish I remembered his name, it could be Jacob. He gets 4 stars and the food gets 2 stars. The food was OK. I tried the "new" salad: Arugula and romaine lettuces are tossed with sliced strawberries and zesty chili lime vinaigrette, then layered with slices of grilled chicken breast and chunks of creamy avocado. There were a few tiny bits of strawberry and a few chunks of avocado. The lettuces seemed fresh. The piece of chicken was grilled nicely but wasn't very big either. This place to me is comparable with Chilis, except I would probably say Applebees isn't as good as Chili's. It has the same goofy atmosphere and the service is so/so. We hit this Applebees coming and going on our trip. The first time we went we were oh so tired after a long day driving. Honestly it was not our first choice but Olive Garden had 60+ minute wait, so Applebees got our vote. We had a lovely server, but unfortunately several things we ordered they had "run out of", including baked potatos. The food was adequate and our server was pleasant. Sooooo on our return trip, rather then look for somewhere else to eat after another long day driving we went back. We had what was a new server. Honestly after a long days drive I am not wanting to train their new employees. I asked for a veggie burger, to which she promptly told me they did not have them. Really. I said how about you go ask (since they say they have them in little print on the menu) imagine her surprise when she told me they did have them. I ordered a dinner salad as well, you know something that should come before your meal. Whoops she forgot it when she brought all the food. Whoops she messed up my order also. I will say the manager did come by and she did take my salad off the check- oh wait I never got it- and then my veggie burger. I would have rather had a hassle free dinner and paid my $7. From the time we entered this restaurant to the time we left, the whole ordeal took well over an hour. All I ordered was a cup of soup and when it was served to me, it was cold! My daughter ordered dinner for Mother's Day for 3. She ordered the 2/$22 one item was the 6 oz sirloin and then the riblets w/fries. Also ordered the 12 oz ribeye. The Sirloin was ordered as medium rare, it was definitely well done no pink to trace of pink in the middle. The ribeye she ordered as medium and it was very pink inside on one side. middle to the other side of the steak was rare. Very disappointed, not only were they not cooked as ordered but had very little flavor to them. We will not be getting food from there again. :( read more

Great experience! I have to say my server was above and beyond which made the experience! The three appetizers for 13.99 was great and served pretty quick! I had the wonton tacos buffalo boneless wings and pretzel bites with beer cheese. My server Tharon was incredible! Fast and made sure our drinks where never empty. What a great personality as well. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant I was there with my sister and our kids and our waitress Maria A. is terrible at her job. She was extremely rude and is a terrible waitress. She constantly had an attitude when we asked for straws or napkins. I was warned about this location but gave it a try and completely regret. Serious freezer burn chicken , unable to eat chicken tenders they were fried to stone covered mush freezer burned mush. My girls ordered postmates for us to have them deliver food for our anniversary since we can not venture out. The dinner was suppose to be delivered. around 530, it came at 7pm. The food was cold, ice cream melted and warm, cake tasted old and the food appeared as it sat for a long time before it came to our house. The steak was like a hockey puck and unseasoned. Oh Applebee's. I'm so disappointed in you. The experience this even has been horrible. To the point that I'm physically sick. First, as I'm walking to the bathroom, I almost slipped and fell. I literally was waiting to fall backwards flailing my arms around and smack! My head hits the tile floor. Luckily I have great balancing skills which allowed me to stay on my feet. Lol! Second, as my partner is opening up her menu, she starts to get this odd look on her face. She opens up the menu and (no joke) there were nose (?) hairs/clippings. There were so many. We went and my husband ordered shrimp and steak with some kind of sauce on the steak (as the menu stated) it came out and was the worst looking food ever the white sauce mixed with some tomatoes to make a disgusting looking mixture and then the steak was under cooked. 11/2/2020 Giving the benefit of doubt from my first bad experience with Applebee's curbside pick up about 5 months ago, I decided to try again. I arrived early to prevent my food from sitting during the payment process. I ordered the bacon cheese burger requested the bacon and fries extra crispy with a cola. The fries came in a plastic covered container not the cardboard advertised, limp and barely warm, the box might have made a difference. The burger did exceed the bun. Bun was burned around the inner edges and heavily buttered, lettuce limp, one slice tomato, 1 slice of bacon cut in half was not crisp but not bad, plenty of burmuda onions, 1-2 thin pickles. Only reason I ate the fries was I was very hungry. Next time I'm hungry for a great burger, I'll go to a competitor. read more
