i haven't stepped foot in this applebee's in probably 3 or 4 years, maybe more. not for bad service or food but just haven't had it on my radar lately especially with everything new cleveland has been getting. but my friend and i were wanting a burger and after checking out the menu of several nearby sit down restaurants, we finally settled on applebee's. we were seated very quickly, and waited on by a super nice waitress. i initially came for a burger but after seeing the bourbon street chicken and shrimp (and getting a good recommendation on it from the waitress) i changed my order. my friend went with the bourbon street mushroom and swiss burger (that i regretfully did not get a pic of) that she let me try a bite of and i immediately was hit was so much flavor. her burger had such a nice char and had just the right amount of seasoning - definitely delicious. my bourbon street chicken and shrimp was really tasty too, i loved the chunky mashed potatoes and the chicken was juicy. but i will most definitely be back just to get my own bourbon street mushroom and swiss burger. our waitress was super sweet and took great care of us. our booth was tidy and clean and we had overall a great experience. read more

We got here about 45 minutes maybe an hour after opening. It was not busy what so ever. Greeted quickly and politely. Our server Amber was good. She was friendly and attentive. Took maybe 15-20 minutes after we placed our food order for us to revive it. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The bucket was good, they even replaced the first one after finding out about an ingredient I was allergic too,and didn't charge. (Was no prior knowledge and server did not tell us what was in either bucket) The bathrooms were clean, looks a little rough maintenance wise. The restaurant itself was clean and open looking. Overall we walked into this worried about how it would go based upon previous reviews. We are both walking out of it full and satisfied. We will be back to dine here again. read more

It doesn't deserve a 1. Possibly the WORST place I've ever eaten. Our server Rebecca was almost as bad as the food. My husband's ribs were dry and shriveled and barely warm. His fries were hardly warm and a very small portion. I had to ask for the coleslaw that was supposed to come with it. The slaw had NO dressing on it- NONE! When I ordered I asked for french onion soup & that it would be brought before the food. The soup came with the food. The server said it had to be cooked longer. The cheese on top was not melted so obviously if STILL hadn't been cooked enough. I asked her to take it back as I had asked for it before the food. The fries were barely warm and very sparse. We'd already waited from 2:45 to 3:15 to get our food. My riblets were burned and dry. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! The people next to us ordered 5 meals and four got their meals & the little child had to wait another 15 mins before her meal came out. Horrible food. And No Birthday Specials! Years ago when these first opened we had tried it, we did not like it. So because of the online advertisement on the birthday specials we decided to give it another chance after many many years have passed. The service was good and the manager was pretty nice. But This visit was not good. What made it worse than trying to eat the food was that we were told they don't have birthday specials because they are a franchise but only after we already ordered, ate and got the bill. After eating we were told also that they won't honor any coupons. We were told by the waitress that the appetizer n cake was a birthday special before we ate it, but only after we already got it and ate it and bought the meals We were told that the appetizer n cake was not free and charged us for everything on the bill. When the bill came we were stunned. The manager said that their restaurant doesn't do birthday specials because it's a franchise but because we were so upset she gave us a managers special discount which helped. We only went there for the birthday specials. We could have gone anywhere where that we actually really liked the food. It had been so many years since we had been to an Applebee's that we thought maybe it might have changed and might be good. Nope! ...It was still just as bad as when they first opened. We won't be going back anymore. At least the service made it really nice n the manger made the visit somewhat nicer. We just know now for a fact that we didn't n still don't like their food. If you read online that you get the appetizer n cake for your birthday....but only IF you buy a dinner of 12.00 or more, it's not true of the one in Cleveland TN. read more

This is the Official late night restaurant closing bar and grill. Most servers for my other restaurants come here for the food and late-night drinks since it is the only place that is open this late. I've been coming here for many years had horrible experiences and wonderful experiences at the same time. I absolutely love having you here because the staff is extremely friendly no matter how late it is the price of the film is very cheap Jean clued's half price appetizers after 9 PM as well as all day drink specials. The management and staff are very professional. I like it also because I get a discount for my job on my dining or curbside. They also have specials on different days from Monday through Wednesday on the food and 799 lunch I don't think you can be. read more

We went to Applebee in Cleveland, tn tonight. our waiter Jacob was amazing! excellent service and food was amazing!

First off I went there as a family with my wife and 2 kids. We got an appetizer (Chicken Quesadilla) It wasn't horrible but not great either. Got two kids meals (Mac and Chz with apple sauce) and (Pizza with apple sauce). We wanted to get one with apple juice and one with choc milk but they said they were out of both so we did water. The pizza was pretty good but the Mac and Chz smelled and tasted like vomit. My kids are 2 and 3 1/2 years old and we didn't realize how bad the mac and chz was until they refused to eat it and so then I tasted it and about threw up myself. It was rancid and I feel like a bad parent trying to serve them this stuff. I had Bourbon street chicken and shrimp which was so oily it pretty much ruined the meal and the garlic seasoning butter that was used was just a big glob sitting on top of the chicken. The mashed potatoes burned the roof of my mouth as if they were put into the microwave way too long. So overall my meal was pretty bad. My wife had the 8 oz sirloin with Brocolli and fries and a salad with french dressing. The waitress came back to inform us that they were out of french dressing though so we had to substitute the asain dressing. My wife stated the only good thing was the unseasoned steamed microwaved broccoli. The steak was supposed to be medium but came out med rare which isn't horrible but the meat had a bit of a funny taste. I tasted it and can't quite put my finger on it what was wrong but it was off. The fries though were horrid. Katsup couldn't even mask the taste and staleness of the fries. Now I get it, its applebees, it's not supposed to be 5 star dining but one would at least hope it was edible. The food wasn't even the worst part. The place and tables were filthy. Outside it didn't look that run down but years of neglect and lack of a good housekeeping program in the inside definitely showed. Examples food and drink spills on all the blinds, when I wiped the table with a baby wipe (yes we have baby wipes for 2 year old) the baby wipe was black from embedded dirt and grime on the wood tables. They really need to do something about the cleanliness but honestly I really don't care cause I will never be back there again no matter what they do. On a good note the waitress was good and brought everything out in a timely manner so I didn't let poor management and cooks affect her tip. I used to wait tables at Applebees when I was in college and this is not the Applebees I know. When I saw that this place had 2 stars I was shocked cause I couldn't believe anyone would grade it even that high read more

What has happened to Applebee's? The food used to be fresh and the restaurant was clean and the help was cheerful... but that's all gone now. I was disappointed with my salad, which was limp and not fresh - even the chicken was tired. My dinner companion ordered the fried fish and it was cold. By the way, if you like fish and chips with the traditional malt vinegar, this place does not have malt vinegar. The cole slaw was a nasty purple shredded mess. The server was full of apologies and appeared to be embarrassed by the food she gave us. We've crossed Applebee's off of our list and won't return. read more

I came here in early March 2020, on the cusp of COVID-19 taking over the country, specifically to take advantage of the $0.25 boneless wing special. Myself and two friends arrived for dinner and we ordered some of their specialty St. Patrick's Day happy hour drinks. They were a great price but tasted horrible. I can't blame Applebee's for that, it's just the drink recipe. Although, the three dead fruit flies floating in my glass, THAT I feel I can say is the fault of the bartender at this Applebee's. I get it, the glasses sat right-side up at the bar and with COVID, the number of restaurant goers dropped significantly, leaving time for the flies to die inside. But still, at least check the glass before you fill it. I fished them out of my drink and gagged down the rest, hoping the putrid alcohol killed any diseases from the flies. The wings were excellent and I asked for blue cheese dressing with mine, while my friend asked for ranch dressing. When the wings came out we both received ranch, and when I pointed it out to our waitress, she eventually (after about 10 minutes) brought over my blue cheese. The bill charged me for the ranch dressing, which I don't think is right because I never asked for ranch in the first place, that was a mistake on their part. In the end, I didn't address all these issues with the waitress because, frankly, it just wasn't worth getting into it. I already felt bad enough with the restaurant being nearly empty and these workers were just trying to survive in the days before this Applebee's completely shut down for the pandemic. That being said, sloppiness is no excuse. I would go again when they have the $0.25 boneless wings but I would sure hope to have a different experience. read more

It's is not a brownie and does not have the fudge in the middle at all. They gave like a tea spoon worth of ice cream. Veteran's Day Review: I'm a big fan of Applebees anyway but especially on Veterans Day. I missed last year because I was in Hawaii on orders. In years past I've brought the family with me to get a free meal. This year I brought my daughters and as usual, this place didn't disappoint. Applebees is always a pleasant place with good food and a nice staff. We walked in and immeditely got a seat and were promptly waited on. We were even given some extra attention which was really nice. I chose the All American cheeseburger and it was amazing. My daughter got the same thing and we both really enjoyed it. I've never gotten a bad meal here. I will certainly be back to support Applebees during a non military holiday. read more

And plerase get some servers, waitresses that can actually take orders in a timely amount of time, bring our drinks within like 10 minutes, and tell them to stop with the small chitchat back and forth with customers, we can care less about their kids, and life. Ourt server, yes, she had two sections to cover due to someone dogging out, but cripes, get some coverage wso we do not have to wait over 30 minutes from our entree order being taken until we get served those.AND THE PLACE WAS NOT PACKED OR CROWDED.. My wife and I stopped here on 1/2/17 @ 3:15 in the afternoon. I ordered an 8oz steak, garlicky green beans & cheddar bacon potatoes. My wife ordered grilled salmon, garlicky green beans & pecan sweet potatoes. My steak was really tough. The garlicky green beans were very greasy and when the potato dish came it had sour cream on it (I don't like sour cream). I don't recall the menu stating that they contained sour cream. The waitress took them back and replaced them. When the waitress came to our table for payment, she came back about 5 minutes later and said that the computers were down. She came back about 10 minutes later with the same message. There were other customers waiting to get their bill so they could pay as well. Finally, after about 20 minutes of waiting to pay and leave they brought our charge slip so that I could sign it. During our time there I overheard some waitress/customer conversations. One particular customer ordered something from the menu only to be told after an 8-10 minute delay that they were out of that particular item. Later, after her meal, she ordered a specific dessert only to be told after another delay that they were out of that particular dessert. Remember, it was mid-afternoon when we were in the restaurant. After all of these issues, I asked the waitress why they were even open today! Very poor customer service and a bad way to start off the new year. We frequent this location and it's usually pretty good, but we brought a group of eight for lunch for my daughter's birthday today (4-07-19) and had the worst experience ever. After our orders were placed, it took a good 40 minutes for the salads to come out. Appetizers came after and had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. My wife ordered Brisket Tacos, and they were so salty she could not eat them. I had Margarita Lime Chicken which had obviously been sitting under the lamp for a while and was also incredibly salty. Missing or wrong veggies with some of our other orders (which they did fix) and the list goes on. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time, seemed distracted, and neglected drinks. My daughter at one point walked to the bar to get a drink refill and the waitress walked by and looked at her indifferently twice. This was our worst experience in many trips here, and my wife is already saying they may have lost our business. To their credit, they gave us a large discount on the bill, but we still left with a bad taste in our mouths and, after almost two hours, still hungry.
