Wow, I had the best experience this afternoon there after church. My server, Alfur was the absolute most attentive and hard-working person I've met in a restaurant in a while. Her positivity radiated! The manager, Michael, was also a pleasure to meet. He worked diligently going by each table to see how our and other's lunch was. He spent time with us and was so kind. The wifey and I decided to invite our son and his family to have Lunch on Labor Day to celebrate with him starting a new job today. I called ahead to be seated when we arrived. The manager explained that they don't take reservations that this would just get our name only on the books. When we arrived we were seated very quickly without a wait, that was very pleasant since we had our 3 young granddaughters joining us, and they were hungry. The server was very good, with us having 7 in our party. The salad & Bread was excellent the meal came out correct and HOT a big plus... The main reason FOR this review, that I was most impressed with the manager (CARED) she came by our table to check and see if everything was going okay not once but a couple of times checking to make sure everything was okay. This is so important with the high expense of eating out now days, that someone in management is concerned enough to just check and making sure everything is okay! My eldest really likes the Seafood Alfredo at the Hixson Olive Garden, so he chose this place for dinner. He chose the calamari for our starter. This was ok, the marinara helped. I'm guessing these come in frozen. We both chose the salad with our entree's and it was crisp and pretty fresh. His seafood alfredo was good - he was half way through it before I got a pic - and my chicken parmesan was solid. Not my favorite but it was tasty and the portions are huge. I had plenty of leftovers! This chain delivers a solid meal, although the prices have increased since the last time we ate here. I would give 3.5 stars if it were an option. We went out to eat the Saturday after Valentines day. so needless to say all the area restaurants were packed. We were told about 20 mins and it was only about 10 min. wait for a table. Our waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable. and helpful. Our table was in a spot were staff had to keep walking by , actually more like squeezing by due to a large group at the next table. Every one that walked past apologized for coming so close to us. All the staff were working hard. Yet everyone was still super friendly and polite. Is Olive Garden's food over rated? Maybe. i ordered chicken gnocchi soup, it was delicious only 2 gnocchi but still amazing. my main dish was chicken Marsala which came with very cold potatoes and chicken was dry around the edges. I sent plate back, waited about 10 minutes while I watched my boyfriend eat his finally got back a super hot plate with potatoes so hot I couldn't put them in my mouth. What's not to like? An excellent and healthy salad and soup, as much as you like. It came out in 5 minutes, and it tastes wonderful. Chicken Scampi from Olive Garden is my wife's favorite dish to to eat out. In January 22nd at 1:30 pm., we went to the restaurant and had a 30 minute wait. They weren't busy but had insufficient staff. My son and I ordered the soup and salad and my wife ordered Chicken Scampi with a bowl of soup. Our soups and salad arrived. I asked our server on multiple occasions where my wife's entrée was. She never brought it out. After a bit, the waitress told us that we could pay our check on the kiosk. I reminded her that my wife never received her meal. The waitress returned several minutes later with an entree that had obviously been plated for quite a while. My my wife said we were all finished eating and the waitress said no problem because she would put the stale food in to go container. My wife told her she did not want food that had not been served and left under a heat lamp for almost an hour. After a 15 minute delay she said the manager took the entree off our check. The kiosk still had the unserved meal on our check along with items we didn't order. After another 15 minute delay we received a correct paper check that we again had to wait on. The manager didn't come out to advise she correct the ticket. The manager on duty should be replaced! read more

Guys, I know the Olive Garden is nothing new. It's a "chain" restaurant and it's been around forever so maybe you overlook it when you're considering where to have a meal but I'm telling you DON'T overlook it! Olive Garden is frraking delicious and there's something for everyone on the menu. They have brand new dishes and are always keeping up with trends. There are gluten free options-even an entire dish with "pasta" made from zucchini noodles! It's delicious-I've had it twice! The folks at this OG are very friendly and always kind and helpful as soon as you walk in the door. We've never had a wait even though the parking lot is usually full. Servers are always kind and considerate and we've started going way more often since downloading the app and joining so we get coupons with discounts at least once a week. Update: I previously left a three star rating of this restaurant after a sub par experience. However, someone from the restaurant reached out and offered a gift card to give it another try. I am not the type to give a good rating simply because of a discount...but we've been back to the restaurant twice in the past two weeks, and we had great experiences both times. I wish I remembered our most recently waitress's name; she was excellent. The food was great too...better than I remember Olive Garden being in recent years. Old Review from 10/2020 - Went here tonight with my three older children and my parents. Maybe it was just our waitress, but we did not have great service, and that took away from the whole experience. She only brought one bowl of salad for six people, and she only brought one breadstick per person. Yes, she did bring more upon request, but I've never had a waitress do that with a larger party at Olive Garden before. The food was decent, typical OG food. It's nothing to write home about, but it's predictable if you've been there. Our waitress also took forever to bring the check. I think she just assumed we'd use the table top paying device, but my stepdad is older and likes to use cash. Normally wouldn't say anything, today's experience was pretty rough. My spiked lemonade was good (noticed a bug in the ice but drank it anyways because I felt too bad to say anything), we got the chicken and gnocchi and the first one was cold and watery but we assumed it was just a bad batch and the second order would be better. The second order was also cold and watery but didn't have any gnocchi dumplings either. The service was also pretty slow but I wasn't upset too upset about that, as we expected it due to it being a slow night. I planned on saying something (not to be rude, just so we could get better soup) but we weren't asked if the food came out okay so we felt a bit too bad to say anything. It is so cold in the restaurant. We ordered two cups of coffee by the time we got a second cup our cup was so cold is felt like it had been in the freezer. This Olive Garden near my parents' home is definitely one of the better restaurants I've been to. Actually after having a horrible experience at an Olive Garden here in Mobile and blogging about it, I received a gift certificate. The company wanted me to return to the one that I had the initial subpar experience with so they could make it up to me. After some debate with myself, I decided against it. This one time at this particular location was not the first time I had been disappointed , therefore I did not want to chance it. I waited until I went to see my parents and we went and I must say, everything else here was awesome. The food was tasty. Pasta was cooked al dente and not dry . We have called Olive Garden on several occasions and gotten food delivered to us by them on the same night within an hour. There have been a couple of times that they couldn't deliver because they were short staffed. Tonight we called and were told they need 24 hours notice for them to deliver. When we told her (she said she was the manager) we had called before and had our food delivered on the same night she was snotty and said they don't do that. Last week I went to Olive Garden (Chain) in Hixson off 153. Plenty of off street parking and has a nice bar area to the right when you walk in with a sit at bar and and maybe 6 or 7 booths. To the left is a very large restaurant area. I was there for lunch and really not crazy about Italian and even less if it is a chain.. .that said, I was impressed with the service and the food. I sat at the bar (I know surprise!). They have a full bar and draught beer (+1), but I did not partake. I ordered the spicy soup (Zipa or something with sausage) and it was awesome. As you may know they have unlimited soup or salad (even at lunch). I had two bowls of the soup and a meatball sandwich (which I took home because the soup filled me up). They also gave me warm bread sticks.. what the heck!?!? Lunch was very reasonable (7.99 I think) and the lady at the bar could not have been friendlier or could I have had better service. Here I am, an older man that has never been to any Olive Garden, but wanted to. Won't say it was a bucket item, but you get it. My spouse's eyes lit up when I asked what they were thinking for lunch. "You said you wanted to try Olive Garden..." SOLD Was it the most outstanding Italian I've ever had? No, for that I would need to return to Italy, Sicily, Boston and New York City. But for a chain they served my spouse and myself a very decent meal. Star, our server, was a star. She was informative, funny, attentive and answered all questions and guided me in selecting just the perfect meals. I got the make your own pasta with angel hair, 5 cheese marinara, meatballs and sausage. She didn't hear me asking for sausage, so when it was brought out and I enquired and she said she missed me asking and promptly brought the sausage. The salad with house dressing was good and the breadsticks were fresh out the oven. Yum You know when you're in the mood for something and everything lives up to your expectations and hopes? That was this meal. The food was good and the service was fantastic. That is some of the best sausage I've had outside Fenway from the sausage carts that lined Yawkey Way. Their cannolis need some work. The filling far too dense, but decent flavors. Their tea was brewed well. Yes, they're a chain, and as many reviewers have said, been to one, been to them all. Well there is something to be said about consistency. That's what Ray Kroc went for with that little chain, McDonald's. You have an expectation of knowing exactly what to expect when you are away from home and stop for a meal. Neither used the restrooms nor anything from the bar, so can't comment on those aspects. Been there lots! The servers/bartenders there are wonderful. They smile a lot. They are friendly. They are professional. The food at OG is consistent wherever you go. Damn the people that can't leave their f'ing cell phones in the car. Why do they have to whip them out and talk all loud and text and such while they are eating. Real Italians would bitch slap you for using your cell at the dinner table -- this one included! The salad -- the house salad you always get is boring and just regular lettuce dressed up. Need more variety. Make it a true Italian salad. The breadsticks are so 1990's. How about fresh garlic rolls and dipping oil...real Italian, not lazyass American style. OK, enough of my rant. We got an Olive Garden gift card for Christmas. Last night (Saturday, Jan 14, 2023) was the first time we were kid free. We've been broke and tied down to kids, last night was our first "free night " in 2 months. To start with, our waitress was ENTIRELY preoccupied with ANYTHING besides being a waitress. They are "supposed " to grate cheese over your salad and soup until you say stop, that did not happen any of the 3 times. We waited a very long time for "fresh" breadsticks. So long in fact that they were cold by the time we got them. The server's name was Megan D. It was overheard the servers talking about someone being "written up". There was a bus boy that came out to bus the table beside us, he had earbuds in BOTH ears, and he LITERALLY SAT in the chairs while cleaning the table off. There were 3 tables put together with a total of 18 seats. The bus boy only cleaned one setting, moved and sat in another chair, and cleaned two more settings while the other bus lady cleaned the rest. It was very unprofessional. Our waitress seemed occupied with the fact that the three tables put together were dirty and not able to be used. She seemed more concerned with the tables she wasn't able to use than the 2 tables of people she did have. It was the WORST experience I have ever had with a server. If it hadn't been against my etiquette to not leave a tip I would not have done so, Olive Garden, you can do better. read more

Went early in the afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy at the time. The appetizer was good as well as the breadsticks, the salad was ok as it had large chunks of unchopped lettuce. We ordered two lasagnas, the ends we started on were a little over cooked on the bottoms. The other ends of both were burned and black on the bottoms. When we showed the waitress the burnt food we were told how sorry she was that our meals were burned and told we can pay on the table device whenever we were ready. I don't aggressively complain , I prefer to mention the issue and let them deal with it as they please. This was our first time ever being served burned entrees at any restaurant ever. I feel that this was handled very inappropriately for a $60 lunch for 2 and I doubt that we will be returning. read more

My wife loves Olive Garden and to be honest I'm not the biggest fan but that's where she wanted to go tonight and I have to say this is definitely the best Olive Garden I've been to!! I'm not even a huge fan of Italian food mostly because of all the carbs in the food and I'm on a diet but my server (Julia) helped me out when I got in there and recommended the grilled chicken parm substituting the pasta for broccoli! She gave me the opportunity To get my belly full and with a healthy meal at that and stayed true to my diet even though I went out to eat! God I hate everything about this place. For some reason this is the go-to birthday/special occasion place for my family so you know I'm not gonna say no when my grandma is able to come out and eat dinner and it's her and my grandpa's 65th anniversary, as I'm not a jerk. But Olive Garden is. And maybe I am a jerk after the fact because I have to write this but it's deserved. Oof almost forgot this part. My brother called around 2pm for call ahead seating at 6:30. When I got there, our "reservation" was not in the computer. One of the other hostesses had answered the phone but didn't bother to add it to the computer. Had she not been there, I don't know what we would have done. But here I am telling this other one his name, as I was in the room when he made the call and I'm looking like I just made this up. Other hostess of course knew the details, we needed a table in order to accomodate a wheelchair. When we got our table, they decided we were apparently going to put the wheelchair right behind someone else's chair to prevent them from ever getting out. Umm. We had to change the layout of the table ourselves, to get the wheelchair down at the other end where it wouldn't be blocking everyone. No help from the people working here. I ordered a quartino of Malbec. The server says to me, I did not expect that order. Maybe you should keep that to yourself then? I know I don't look like I'm 24 and I don't mind if someone tells me I look like I am too young to order alcohol, but that wording makes it sound like I don't look like I would ever drink wine, let alone Malbec. And then she kept trying to push me to try a sample. I have had plenty of Malbec, please just let me have my little carafe. So she brings me a glass despite the fact she repeated back "quartino" to me. Next, my brother gets soup instead of salad, so he gets like a half bowl of soup as they needed to make more. It took until we got our food for him to get more soup. We also didn't get breadsticks with our salad like every table who received breadsticks before and after we got salad. When did we get breadsticks? When my dad nabbed the basket off her tray when she abandoned her job to someone else to take an order from another table. Classy. Then since everyone but my grandpa and I took part in the never ending pasta bowl, they could all get their second plate to go. I had been doing most of the ordering for my grandma because it's so loud in there and I don't want anyone on either side of the conversation to get confused, so I said she'd get the same one again, which included the "unlimited" Italian sausage option. We ordered one of the special occasion cakes for their anniversary, and she brought us plates and the cake, but no forks. We had to grab someone else's attention for forks after being able to cut the cake for six people and still wait a few minutes, as she was nowhere to be found again. She also didn't bring my grandma's pasta. We actually had to wait beyond the cake for that pasta, and when we got back home, I saw it didn't even have this so-called unlimited Italian sausage in it, despite the fact I said she'd take the same thing. My sausage and peppers with penne was alright. It's something I could easily have made for all of us at home for the same exact price and none of the bullshit. I really wanted to give the server the benefit of the doubt given how slammed this place is on weekends due to being so attractive to the tri-state population traveling out from under their rocks on Saturdays, but leaving the breadsticks on the tray without putting them on our table after how long it took her to get them was just so tacky. Oh and I should add they completely are disgusting now. I remember years ago they weren't all that bad, but Melissa W. is spot on, they really do remind me of hot dog buns. Pizza Hut has better breadsticks. We weren't charged for the cake, so maybe that was her way of making it up to us but meh. read more
