I have never been treated like this ANYWHERE IVE EATEN BEFORE. we walked in and we were seated immediately, however this is where the story gets good. We were passed by 3 waitresses who looked us dead in our eyes and never checked on us. Three tables were seated after us and were served drinks and orders were taken. At this point I asked the hostess did he let someone know that we were at the table and waiting, he said he would notify someone. So now 15 minutes has passed and no one has checked on us. So i went back to the hostess table and asked could they send the manager to our table. I notified the manager (Michael) of this unsatisfactory customer service and he actually waited on our table from that point on. However he's the manager so on top of everything he has going on he can't be as attentive as others. I actually had a really great meal here tonight. My husband and I met a couple for a double date at Buffalo Wild Wings during a popular football game. They didn't seem to care about seating us- so we thought about our options. Red Lobster or Applebees. We decided on Applebees, so walked right over. We were immediately seated, the warm air was welcome because it was 35 degrees out tonight! The booth was cozy, lighting low, the game was on!, and it wasn't too crowded. The pretzel and beer cheese appetizer was not cooked all the way, and the beer cheese was nasty. 3 of us got the 4 cheese mac n cheese with honey chicken, and 1 got the broccoli chicken alfredo and we have been throwing up all night. The atmosphere of the place was gloomy and depressing. We will NEVER go back again. Worst Saturday night out with the family we have had in a very long time. As has been the case, the last two times I've visited this particular Applebee's, the service lacked a lot to be desired. Additionally, most of the food was extremely salty this time! I will return to another Applebee's as I think that their chicken Alfredo with broccolini is really good. Unfortunately, this time, my chicken Alfredo had broccoli , which was a little tougher. I used to come here all the time and loved it. Over the years I've seen this place just get worse and worse. We went from coming here once a week for yrs to maybe once a yr. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. The only thing they had left to cling onto was the bar vibe which isn't much of a vibe anymore. This review comes in two parts: the restaurant and The to-go meals. We got there for happy hour (3-6 PM), during which they offer 4 half price apps (queso, spinach artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks, and boneless wings. We got all but the queso. Everything was lukewarm. The sticks were not goey on the inside, obviously frozen, and the cheese was strangely chewy. The wings were pretty good and meaty. The spinach artichoke dip came with tortilla chips and salsa. It was not great but not bad. They also have $1 Long Island iced teas right now. They're just okay, if that. They have every day $2 margaritas, $4 large margaritas, and $2 Bahamas Mamas. They do not make them by hand, and all mixes are premade, which made it awful. Everything was WAY too sweet with very little liquor. And there is no way to get around that because of this. So do NOT go here for a drink...even if the prices seem worth it, they aren't. You will pay for something you cannot drink. I got a coupon for A BOGO entree in the mail, so we ordered them and took them to go. The full rack of baby back ribs had pretty good flavor. But one half dry, overdone and had hardly any meat. Also, they charged me $19.99 instead of the $17.99 stated on the menu. Whatever, I didn't make a big deal about it, but it was pretty shady. Sides: the fire roasted veggies were delicious; the garlicky green beans were gross and not salted at all. I ordered the four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken with the chicken on the side and the sauce for the chicken on the side. The sauce was good and the chicken is three small chicken tenders. But this would have been really weird with the glaze in the macaroni and cheese. Separated, this entree was slightly above average, but not for $13. The service was friendly but slow. I was really unimpressed. I didn't expect gourmet food, but I didn't expect it to be below microwaveable-food-aisle caliber. I won't come back. Fridays and Chilis are so much better. read more

The only consistent quality about Applebee's is its inconsistency. My wife and I have been regulars at Applebee's for several years because they have great specials on appetizers, drinks, and meals every day of the week. However, the company is now in grave financial trouble and they are in the process of closing 150 stores. This fact is not surprising, and many regulars have noticed ample reasons why. After closing the Tomball store that we frequented without notice, we came to this location much farther away for their March Madness special. That was a mistake. Applebee's has become a disappointment, which is a shame, since we really enjoyed going to eat there before. They have also become rather inflexible with their alcohol service and their menu in general, which is definitely a change from before. My wife asked for a hand mixed Bahama Mama and was told she could only have their atrocious premixed garbage unless she bought top shelf liquor. Customers should not have to buy top shelf alcohol to get a hand made drink and she had actually talked to the bar manager a couple of weeks before, and she was told she could have a hand made drink of any kind. But my main complaint was the service. The food was quite good, but the server basically abandoned us, only checking on us one time during our entire meal. Over and over again she walked by our table, never asking us once how we were doing. Not only that, she sat down in the booth right next to our companion uninvited to take our order, which I feel is highly inappropriate. After dropping off the check, she never came back to pick up the payment. We waited 20 minutes before finally flagging down another waiter to accept it. Although business was busy at the beginning of our meal, it slowed down a lot toward the end, but the service never improved. The waitress neglected all her tables. We arrived at the restaurant at 11:15 am, and were greeted by a young man with droopy trousers down to his butt. NICE. Next, our waitress took our orders and then we waited for our drinks for about 15 minutes. I.noticed our waitress was over at the table next to.us socializing and showing the couple some photos on her phone. They promptly got their drinks and their food, and we continued waiting for our food. I asked her where were our drinks, and finally she brought them. The food here is terrible. The only good thing about this visit was the alcoholic beverages and the lemonade I had. The sides were okay. The main entree, which consisted of an 6oz steak on one plate, was charred. I asked for well done not a burnt piece of steak! The chicken breast on the other entree that was brought to us, was flavorless. The chicken breast literally tasted like it had not been marinated nor seasoned. Noticed bartender had our entrees in hand and then turned around back to the kitchen as she finally noticed the salads had not come out. Received our salads which consisted of wilted lettuce and stale croutons. We let her know that we saw the entrees were ready and to just bring them out. Normally I would say something and just ask for the bill for the one beer we had, however decided to suck it up. I ate about four bites and did not feel well. I chose to take my girlfriend out on a dinner date last night and we chose this Applebee's. We got water with lemon and the water was just tap water and the lemons tasted old. We chose to get the White Queso Dip & Chips for an appetizer and the queso was luke warm and clumpy to the temperature. For entrees I ordered the The Prime Rib Dipper (it's almost like a Philly cheesesteak) and the entire dish was also luke warm and the fries were cold. The only thing that was hot on my plate was the dipping sauce that was probably microwaved. My girlfriend got the DOUBLE CRUNCH SHRIMP. THE SHRIMP WERENT EVEN A SINGLE CRUNCH. Which was $15 for crappy shrimp. They were not crunchy whatsoever, the crust fell off extremely easily, and was soggy. The shrimp tasted frozen and were mushy all while still being cold. One of them wasn't even fully cooked. Needless to say my girlfriend got food poisoning and has been throwing up all night and day. I spent $50 on crappy food and food poisoning. We went for a late lunch and decided upon Applebees since neither of us have been to one in years. The restaurant was slow with only a handful of customers present. We where immediately greeted and seated and met by our waitress who, though shy, was polite and fast. While waiting for our waitress I visited the women's facilities and was instantly questioning the management's follow up on ensuring that the restrooms were receiving adequate care. All 3 stalls were unusuable. Like I said earlier they were slow and this to me was unacceptable. We started our meal with the choose 3 appetizer and selected the pub brew pretzels, cheese sticks, and crispy wonton tacos. The pretzels, well it's hard to mess them up, served with a white queso. Same goes for the cheese sticks. The surprise here though was the Crispy Wonton Tacos. These were stuffed with spicy pieces of grilled chicken topped with a nice slaw and served in a soy sauce. Definitely the highlight dish. I ordered the double whiskey barrel sirloins. They where overcooked and the toppings had little to no flavor. My partner ordered the three cheese basil penne pasta and was also disappointed in this dish. Two stars because of the surprising success of the wonton tacos and the server was at least attentive though at times forgetful. I don't think we will ever visit here again though. read more

Took my kids to go eat there on 12/13 and we were seated quickly. Took a bit to take our order. To start they were out of the appetizer we asked for and which they have all these billboards and special menus, we went for the second choice. After about 30 min later what looked like the manager came out with our appetizer which was cold and looked like it was sitting there for a while . I informed him that it was taking way to long for our order and he said he would look into it. Never returned. After about 10 min more I flagged our waiter down and inquired about our order. So over an hour now with 2 hungry kids getting wrestles and no food. Finally they showed up with below par food and apologized for wait but they wanted to make it better with a free desert. The steak was cold, tough, and dry, the rest of the food looked microwaved. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. We asked for the "free desert" to go and low and behold they were out of it. At that point in time we paid the bill and left. That was the most horrible experience at a restaurant We have ever had. Never again will we return. Now I know why so many shut down. I only go to Applebee's for appetizers which is the only decent thing there. Tiffany is the only server who I enjoy serving us when we go. To say that service there from the other servers and management is horrible, is an understatement. The female server, Marchelle, might be the worse server I've ever seen. Today we went to Applebee's and Marchelle asked the bartender to take our order because she severed us before and didn't like us or doesn't think we like her. All times she served us has been trash, however, we still left her a tip, so I don't know what she's complaining about. I definitely don't recommend anyone go there. You will wait 20 minutes or more for a drink or for someone to take the order. It's a waste of time and money. The only thing you will get at Applebee's is a headache! The croutons on my wife's salad were great. So, I've come to the conclusion that their fancy topped steaks are crap, they don't even have a ribeye on the menu. I've been in the restaurant business for 12 years. I'm a manager at a place I worked for years. I'm one to never complain, but so disappointed. Never been to this place, my daughter and I stopped by there the day before thanksgiving while shopping in the area. I walked in and stood in the front literally 10 min or more, had 2 servers look at me and never said anything to me or acknowledge me. The bartender that was in full view had one customer and saw me too said nothing. I never felt so awkward. While still waiting a older gentlemen on a cane comes walking toward the door I opened the door for him to help him in. He told me thank you and went and took a seat. Well never being here I was like I guess your spose to seat yourself. I followed right behind him and me and my child sat at the next booth. Our waitress was really nice and for her having the whole bar side section it was understandable for longer service. But after we ordered our appetizer there was no service. We watched the bartender make our drinks as they sat there for minutes on end . Finally a manager dropped them off for us and we were able to order entrees . The bar side was filling with larger tables , which was understandable but if we had been sitting there along with other booths around us . Why were we being looked over ? Assuming bigger tables will tip better is not always the case . Simply making rounds on the section and a customer having to wave down a manager to get our food that came out after two ten too tables ordered is ridiculous. I placed an order for curbside pick up at 4:00 PM and scheduled the pickup time for 5:20 PM for the location in Conroe, TX. I ordered Big Tex Chicken Taco Salad, Chicken Tortilla Soup, and a sweet tea. I arrived at 5:21 PM. When I placed my order, the website stated, "pull up, and we'll bring your food out to your car," then it asked for my vehicle description. While I waited for my order to be brought out to my car, I saw seven different employees passing by on the inside of the business and two that came outside. I parked directly in front of the curb side door I could see inside, so I know that they could see me. A car pulled into an adjacent parking spot I saw an employee come out (without any food) and speak with the male driver for some time then casually walk back into the store. The casual exchange between her and the male leads me to believe that it was personal in nature. I observed a male in a red shirt inside of the restaurant do several things at a cash register, peer outside the door but never came outside to check if I was there for a pickup. I waited until 5:38 PM, and then I called into the restaurant to inform them I was there for an order pick up. The female's tone that answered was very, "why are you bothering me," sounding, she asked for my name. She then said either hold on I will check on it or I will check on it, either way, she hung up on me, but I thought I was on hold. Several minutes later, the male in the red shirt came out and asked me if I was waiting on an order and what my order was and if I was the person that just called in. He informed me that they could not find my order. I told him I was the person that called in, gave my name, and what I ordered I informed him that if my credit card was not charged, then I wanted to cancel the order, I tried to see if my card had been charged but was not able to log into my account. The guy in the red shirt asked what my drink was he would bring it out while we tried to figure this out, and added: "no charge" of course. Fast forward several more minutes; he found my order and had the chef make it. I was finally able to leave at 5:47 PM. The salad was good; however, I requested and paid for extra grilled chicken, and it was missing. The soup was too salty to be eaten; the tea tasted fresh. The guy in the red shirt also gave me a $5.00 off for my next visit and thanked me for being so patient while waiting. However, I will not be going back to Applebee's more so because of the poor customer service. The guy in the red shirt was plenty nice once he finally started attending to my order, but I felt that it was too late, and the whole incident could have been avoided. I went to that one because it was on my way to work, and I could stop by quickly get my food and go. For this visit, I was late for work because of the confusion and then only halfway satisfied with the quality of the food that was prepared. I think that if Applebee's wants to continue with their curbside service, then they should amend the current system. Using text messages such as HEB and Walmart curbside service is one idea. The person picking up the order can send a text and let the restaurant know they are there to pick up their order. Another suggestion, maybe the employees could utilize better situational awareness. read more
