On a cold day, we wanted to get some steak and some drinks. Applebees fit the bill perfectly. Other than the steak, we wanted to try the new OM burger and I should admit, that was quite good. Applebees provided the right atmosphere and very friendly staff for what we wanted that day. We had a nice chat with the staff and it certainly adds to the experience. The food is always acceptable here and the price point makes it more affordable than most other restaurants in the Danbury area. The service is okay but can run hot or cold depending on the server and the number of patrons they are serving. Lots of TV screens allow for a decent sports bar experience. Where they lack is in their bar. The cocktails are WEAK and are not filled to the top. I attribute this to inexperienced and young bartenders Don't bother asking them to fix it as they will return with the same weak drink. Stick to beer here. The place itself is clean and the staff are pleasant but you could have a server that has no table side manners. However that happens everywhere read more

First and last time I go to this place, only because I had a gift card. I ordered take out. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food (Tex-Mex shrimp bowl) got me sick to my stomach that I got a fever and had to go to the bathroom for release. Seeing the reviews I agree that their food tastes like microwaved food. I know Applebees gets a lot of bad comments but I must say tonight my mom wanted to treat my grandchildren to a place they enjoy the food. First off we had a server by the name of T-Bone aka Anthony. He was so accommodating and friendly. His customer service was excellent! What an awesome experience. To my surprise the bone in chicken wings were great! So impressed. T-bone assured us he would try his best to have our custom order made. We were happy he made it happen. His customer service makes me want to return to dine in. They still need to work on cleanliness. I think with some housekeeping maintenance, this place would grade higher. The food was good. If there was an option for 0 stars, I would've clicked it right away. But alas, there is not such an option. This restaurant named Applebee's (ugh, awful name) microwaves their meals about a minute too short. This food is some of the most revolting, disgusting garbage I've ever eaten. It was like putting buffalo wing sauce on a banana and sprinkling it with sugar and pepperoni. The service is also just horrid. The servers take much too long initially and it took about 2 hours to get the (poorly prepared) food. The vibe and ambiance was also very off, but I will not touch on that. read more

Went here last night and was super happy with the experience! The parking lot seemed packed but wasn't as crowded inside. We were seated right away in a nice big booth. We started w the combo appetizer and everything was so delicious! It came out super quick and hot. I order the chicken tender plate w fries and friend got the whiskey burger. Both were super good and fries were seasoned perfectly! Only complaint was that food came out way to fast. We were not halfway done w the appetizer yet and felt overwhelmed when it came out. Food was great. We got the brownie dessert and a caramel skillet dessert and both were to die for. Will def be coming back!! read more

Customer Service was absolutely disgusting. my card was charged on my account but not theirs.. general manager and manager had an issue w me from the start. another waitress tried giving me an attitude and ATTEMPTED to explain what was going on when she had NO IDEA. I haven't had a meal this bad in a long time. I give the food 1 star, but it's slightly bumped up because the service was fantastic. Our server was very friendly. The food tasted like a microwaved school lunch. It's really upsetting, because I have such fond memories of going to Applebees as a teenage and getting the quesadilla burger. This quesadilla burger was not that. It was bland, mushy, and it fell apart. Clearly it was microwaved. I wouldn't risk getting a salad or something fresh here. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Applebee's but the nearest TGIF was way too far. Food at this location is average at best but definitely better than a place like Denny's. Service is the best part of this place because the staff was super nice. Based on other reviews I don't think the cooking staff knows how to properly prepare meals because every other Yelper agrees the food is lacking big time at this location. If I stop by again it'll literally just be for a beer with my friend at the bar and that's about it. I'll never buy food here ever again. This time: stale chips with the spinach/artichoke dip, minimum sauce on ribs, (paid for extra) had to add my own at home, fries luke warm and rubbery, must have been sitting awhile in kitchen, because I was on time for pickup. When we got there the restaurant was practically empty. Yet we still waited 15 minutes for a seat. Once we got our table we waited another 15 just for the waiter to come to our table. Ugh! Not my first bad review and most people would say "why go back" this was only out of convenience. Once again we stay at the Quality Inn which is across the street. So it was supposed to be a snow storm but that was a bust mostly rain but schools were closed so you would imagine they are short staffed, however, this time was extremely disappointing so much so that I think this time I won't return. The waiter told us the bar was basically closed (only beer and wine) this restaurant promotes their drinks like crazy but could not have one. They had no bartender on staff, maybe because of the storm? Why would a restaurant that advertises drinks so much have a manager on staff that can't make drinks? Not even basic ones like the guy at the bar who was waiting so long to get his vodka and soda only to have to settle for a coke. The meals we ordered had expired cheese in them, it was gross, I was still hungry so we ordered thrills crunchy wings to go thinking they would be crispy, but when we got back to the hotel they were soggy and fatty. It's a shame because we love having our date night there but I'm done. No managers or anyone has ever reached out to me to make things right. Next time we will go around the corner to Chilis! Went to Applebees today for first time since covid. Was told from the start they were very understaffed which we appreciated and understood. Food and service were very good. The only down side was a very unruly customer who was very loud and nasty to the staff. The staff was very professional and tried to help resolve the issue but the customer did nothing but yell and use foul language It was totally uncalled for The staff was working hard and didn't deserve that sought of treatment Neither did the other patrons. Food: a half-step above a mediocre diner. Service: Awful. We (myself and 4 teens) came for an early pre-movie Saturday dinner. When we ordered (at about 6:25), I said that we needed to be out by 7 - yes, it would be tight, but the waiter said it shouldn't be a problem. Wings came out almost immediately. The waiters were all chatting at the bar, and 20 minutes later, still no food; the manager came over (after I asked when we could expect our meals), apologized and blamed the kitchen - he'd give us "boxes" if we wanted to take the food out. Bill came, and when asked for change of 3 $20's (we needed $10's for each person to pay), the waiter disappeared for at least 5 minutes; we could see him chatting again at the bar. Saturday before noon 11/24/12 prior to a movie we decided to stop by Applebee's and grab something to eat, so we ordered an appetizer sampler. The restaurant was not crowded, there were less than 3 tables occupied and we waited for 20mins for our food - not a big deal. When the food came it was wrong, we got 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered and the table next to us got the other items, seems that the kitchen had a mix up, no biggie. The problem came when our waitress Cheryl took the food from our table and attempted to swap it with the table next to us. I was not having that so we walked over to the bar asked for a manager and got two neither of which did anything; we were being charged for the food we did not even touch and for two sodas. We refused to pay and they insisted even after we told them what the waitress did. Needless to say we did not pay.
