Matt was simply the best. Being in the foodservice industry myself, giving him his flowers for being a rare breed of elite service professionals. It seems that a lot of patrons are locals, as everyone was familiar with each other. It's nice to see this type of connection between the staff here and the guests. I've never been to a longhorn before, but it felt like a country bar turned full-service restaurant. Dimly lit, yet lively. After going to the stores that we needed to, we decided to take a ride over there. 1 star for the air conditioning! Yippee. The TAD'S that was on 34th St., opposite of Macy's, flagship store, was better!!! It made this place look like Delmonico's near Wall St. This place was a total disappointment. A waste of time and money. Our waitress took our order and then we couldn't find her again. It wasn't busy, but the food took forever to come from the kitchen. I went to use the washroom to clean my hands and there were no paper towels! thank goodness there was a napkin on the table. I ordered a medium rare 6 ounce steak. When it eventually came, it didn't look like 6 oz's to begin with , and the inside was blood red and cold, but the outside was cremated. How do you do that, with a blowtorch? How would I let them know this is NOT what I ordered when you couldn't find anybody working in the place. The "Loaded baked potato" wasn't loaded with much. A few grating's of cheese, a couple of tiny pieces of scallion and some tiny bacon bits. See the photos. This was my first and will be my last time here service was super slow waited over 10 minutes after ordering a water and an iced tea for it to arrive when the meal finally came items were missing and I had to ask for them was not asked if I wanted steak sauce for my steak I had to flag someone down to get that and had to wait another 5 minutes for that to show up overall this was not a pleasant experience, and I will never go here again read more

Located across the street from Danbury Mall. Lots of parking outside. Clean and new on the inside. Lots of cool decor. Nice looking bar area. There is lots of seating so we didn't have to wait. The staff was friendly and our server did a good job. The prices were lower than I expected. My only issue was the substitutes. They were a little misleading. I asked if I could substitute the soup for my salad. The waitress said yes, but didn't let me know there would be a charge for any substitutions. The food was really good. The firecracker chicken wraps had a little kick. The avocado lime dip that came with it paired nicely with it. The shrimp and lobster chowder had pieces of both in it, wasn't just flavored. I couldn't have chose a better entree. I got the renegade sirloin with the shrimp. I was able to get a surf and turfish meal. The shrimp were nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Look you're not going to find well-aged dry rubbed steaks here and never Kobe or Wagyu beef. But, the steaks are in-fact excellent, the dishes are all very fair and equitably priced and overall a very good value considering it's primarily steak. I paid $60 for 'just' my steak while in Denver recently -- that's 'before' anything else! Anyway, this is a great steak place! I've been here numerous times but finally now rating it. Well made and nicely priced drinks too! The menu, ambiance and prices all gel! Two points I'd wish they'd correct. The first is they bring everything out in one shot! No one wants their soup, salad and appetizers all at one time with the entree arriving very shortly thereafter (sometimes WITH everything else!). Even when I mention this first, I still always wind up with multiple plates at the same time! The other thing is that there are a lot of kids working here! My husband and I were driving home from our vacation and wanted to get off of the highway to let traffic pass, and since we were hungry, figured we would stop here at Longhorn Steakhouse since we like their food. The parking lot looked really full, so we were nervous we wouldn't be seated right away. Thankfully, once we got inside, it looked like the people were all evenly spread out through the restaurant, with plenty of seating available, so we were seated right away. The male hostess was really accommodating and nice. Our waitress was Angel. She was really nice and had cool makeup! Her personality was a little out there, but still very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Strawberry Margarita with sugar rim and a Johnny Walker on the rocks. My margarita was delicious, I ordered the glass (not the long pour) but I think I ended up still getting the long pour (I was able to get three whole glasses worth out of my shaker!) The menus must be new (or maybe I haven't been to Longhorn in a while), since the menus had nice faux leather coverings. Very nice! I ordered a Caesar salad, the Texas Tunions, and the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Sweet Potato. Everything was super delicious and filling! Our booth was also in the very corner (near the entrance to the kitchen). I liked being secluded from the rest of the restaurant, and didn't mind the waitresses going back and forth into the kitchen. The booths were roomy, but any movement would cause the booth behind you to dig against your back. I ended up having to go to the restroom towards the end of my meal, and felt bad that I'd be digging into my booth neighbor in order to get up. When I walked past them, I could sense their eyes on me (but it wasn't my fault...) We also got waters with our drinks (which was very refreshing), but I had a small bug in mine, so I didn't want to continue drinking it. The bathroom was in a convenient location in the back of the restaurant. There were three stalls, the one normal sized stall wouldn't lock, the second stall was taken, so I had to use the handicap one (which I was nervous to use in case someone came in who truly needed it). We were at Longhorn Steakhouse in Danbury last night. Our adult family of four sat in the back in a booth. The Texas ambience is warm and welcoming, the waiter was friendly although a little over the top calling me, "My Guy" and trying to upsell as to be expected. Our mushroom appetizer was good but the very small sized mushrooms was obvious and not as advertised or previously experienced. The steaks were okay, but I was frustrated to be duped, legally, but the Filet gave the impression Filet Mignon especially at $35 prices, but we received the Filet of Sirloin to which was under cooked and more chewy then hoped. Clearly we hoped a 6 oz $35 steak would be more "melt in mouth" tender, but now we know. Yes, it's not Ruth's Chris but we still spent over $250 and only two alcoholic drinks. It's simply a slightly higher class experience to the old Bonanza or Sizzler steak experiences. Came here on a Sunday evening in our way through town. We were greeted at the door and seated. There was good music playing in a baseball game on in the bar TV. We were brought bread but no silverware. We did get our silverware while we are perusing the drink menu. I ordered a glass of the Camus cab and my BF ordered a beer. We each ordered a ribeye. I have the brussels sprouts for a small up charge and he had the baked potato. Our food came out relatively quickly, and both steaks were cooked as ordered. The brussels sprouts were excellent. The baked potato was good, although it says that it's loaded, but there wasn't a lot of sour cream. It was my dining companions birthday so we got the ice cream sundae at no cost. The entire bill with tip was $108. Considering I had two glasses of wine he had two beers and my steak had a coating that was an up charge, and the brussels sprouts went up charge it was reasonably priced. read more

We arrived at the restaurant and we were sat within 3 minutes. Our server was Jeff, he was very pleasant and very attentive. Jeff assured to check on us both before and during our meal. Long horn is one of my favorite restaurants however this was my first time visiting this location and i'll definitely be taking the drive back. The shrimp is out of this world and the little chip things with the vegetable dippers unbelievable. Little chicken appetizers. Broccoli was really good salty. though t-bone steak I expected better. It was medium rare It was OK. The steak had a vein and there was fatty actually probably a vein because it was tough around the edges which should've been cut off and it was a little tough and some spots. The loaded potatoes were really good. The takeout containers are kind of small. I guess they expect you to finish everything. But we love the waitress. She was really good constantly coming back and see if we need anything and that's what I like instead of somebody just disappearing and chatting away with their friends or their coworkers so thumbs up to the waitress. read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is Western themed, decorated with some very nice artwork and tasteful lighting. The music track is contemporary country, and the stream is well chosen. The menu is steaks, burgers, chicken, shrimp, salads and soups, and a well chosen choice of atypical side dishes . I had an 8 oz sirloin which was well trimmed and cooked properly with broiled brussel sprouts and grilled corn on the cob. The brussell sprouts were some of the hest I've had, and the corn on the cob had a butter sauce with a breadcrumb and spices topping that was highly unusual and fantastic! I will come to their bar just for those two side dishes. They have a limited, but balanced choice of draught beers. The shift manager, Sean, expedited my food, introduced himself, and checked back with me in a timely fashion to be sure things were well. I sat at the bar, and the bartender, Anna, was also attentive and engaged. The prices were quite reasonable. I've been here only once, so I can't opine as to consistency, but the cleanliness of the restaurant and the smooth service and food quality will certainly bring me back. read more

Never been to a Longhorn before. Service was great, all the waitstaff were friendly. Ambiance seems typical, didn't really matter much to me. Wild West Shrimp was very good; big portion for an appetizer and it had a perfect balance of spicy and savory. Parmesan chicken had delicious cheese but some of the chicken was overcooked and tough; side of broccoli was nicely seasoned. Spicy chicken bites had a good kick and were nice and crunchy. The salad was just a salad but I'm a sucker for Thousand Island. Pretty good stuff overall. read more

I ordered the chocolate stampede to go. I already went here on a Wednesday night in the past thinking Saturday would be the same and I couldn't have been anymore wrong. Wednesday night and Saturday night were night and day. Wednesday night, it was quiet. However, Saturday night was packed. That gave me so much anxiety that I wanted to get out of there ASAP. The service staff did a great job taking care of the dessert in a timely manner while dealing with all the other customers. I tried this place twice, I won't visit a third time. The mashed potatoes are cold, broccoli so overcooked it fell apart when I tried to use a fork. Our experience could not have been what it was if we didn't get the server we got. Michaela was so friendly, cracking jokes with us, smiling and sharing what her favorite things on the menu was. She was so charismatic and seemed to really enjoy her job, unless her normal disposition is jovial. I ended up order Redrock Shrimp for $16.49 and the Moscow Mule for $9.79. My food was excellent! Months later, I'm STILL thinking about how good that food was! My whole family enjoyed their meals too. I thought the restaurant was kept up, clean and easy to find. I went back when they first opened with 3 friends. Went on a Wednesday night and had to wait 20 minutes for a table when there was maybe only 3 other couples sitting down to eat. Maybe they were understaffed? I like how it feels a bit more classy than your other chain steakhouses like Texas road house or Outback. However, the food was wayyyyy over seasoned with salt. Don't get me wrong, I love salt, but this was almost un-edible. They do ask when you order if you are ok with the normal amount of seasoning, but being my first time there I didn't think much about it. I was craving a good steak and thought I'd try this place that just opened up by Danbury mall. I loved the building and the atmosphere inside. I'm from Texas and it felt like a Texan restaurant. There were nice pieces of art of bluebonnet fields, framed rodeo buckles, and of course the mounted longhorn. The staff was friendly and efficient and we were pleased with our meals. I ordered a NY strip medium rare with a baked potato and a Cesar salad. The salad had too much dressing but was fresh and good. The steak was flavorful, was fire grilled, and sat in juices. It was grilled exactly to medium rare. The baked potato skin was coated in chunks of salt (which is not a Texan thing that I've ever been aware of) that migrated all over my plate and made everything salty. The steak was seasoned with their special rub, and I don't know what was in it, but the steak was a bit salty too- and I couldn't figure out if it was from the rub, or the salt on the potato. We got seated right away. Server came and would only take our drink order. Now mind you this is early afternoon and it was not busy at all. When the server came back with our drinks, she bolted before we can order anything. As we waited for her to come back, she walked right past us to bring bread to the table after ours. Those customers came in 15 minutes after us. As we waited, we hear her taking their food order. Once she finally came to the table, we were able to order. Our appetizer finally came out and was way too salty. We sat another 15 minutes waiting on the food. Once the food came out, we never saw her again. When she did come to the table we asked for boxes. Those never came because she disappeared yet again. So we were able to ask another employee. He got us boxes right away. We did mobile pay because our server never came back. Came on a whim after driving by over the last few months as they built and seeing that it was now open. Despite the long wait, they texted us to ask if we would be ok with a high top table in order to accommodate us sooner, which we were fine with and appreciated them asking. ALL the staff was extremely kind along the way. Our entire meal was delicious! Portions were extremely plentiful and service was really fast. Steve, our server, was FANTASTIC! He offered lots of suggestions, was very kind and attentive and shared personal anecdotes which we appreciated. It was nice to get to know him! The food was SO good (we got the steak tips, the rib eye (without the bone) and the shrimp appetizer to split between three of us. It was more than enough food with all the sides and salads that come with it! The mac and cheese was amazing, as was the shrimp. The asparagus was a good side too. The steak tips were delicious!!!
