I could have bought a can of soup from Walmart and been more satisfied than I was with this hot mess. First off, there was a terrible odor coming from the bar that immediately made me want to leave. Our first visit to Applebee's in Durango CO was a very nice experience. We ordered the 2/$32 chicken and shrimp. Salads were served first and very quickly... delish!!! We were still working on our Salads when the food arrived, Isabelle W apologized which was not necessary because we were ready to eat. Chicken and shrimp were both moist and delicious, garlic mashed were very flavorful as well. The focal point of this review is our server Isabelle W. This is Durango's only non fast food restaurant and they're just really disappointing. I tried to order the 2/$26 online but their options are more limited than they used to be and although the ribs are available online for an upcharge of $7.49 but they wouldn't do it at the store. The manager said it wasn't available and so I politely left because I wasn't passionate about a whole lot more since last time I got the 2/$26 deal, my artichoke dip appetizer wasn't even half full of dip and the chicken and Broccoli pasta dish had almost no sauce and so I left. This location in particular had some very good food during COVID and I'm really disappointed as to what I've experienced since and for real, you'd think they'd read their reviews and get their act together. I almost always try to favor our local eateries but sometimes they're not available and Applebees would be a great option for a local option if they tried to do a good job. The young lady that started to take my order couldn't have been nicer and she even tried to add the ribs on the 2/$26 option but when her manager said is wasn't available and I tried to take a photo of their online menu options to attach but it wouldn't work. Zero stars for Applebee's Durango. Our party stepped in to this establishment, they were clearly not busy with only a few patrons. The host appeared to arrange a seating for our party of 12. We specifically asked for three tables of four. He said his manager would allow us to sit at two - six top tables. Said it would be too much trouble to have our party on separate tables!!? We were puzzled on his logic. We had older folks in our party and they were much more comfortable sitting at regular sized tables. His staff was not understanding his logic either. We chose to leave instead of argue our point. The manager never came out to address his concerns and left it to his staff. So we were refused drink service because my girlfriend's ID was Digital on account of having her wallet stolen. Our waiter was insanely rude and WRONG saying he couldnt take it because it was on the phone. This old technophobe could not comprehend that this wasnt simply a picture of an ID, but rather a STATE CERTIFIED government app from the State of Colorado. Mind you this is scannable even at dispensaries. This is applebee's, just look at it. Upon trying to explain it to him he told us we can "argue until we're blue in the face" You know what dude maybe you want to argue until you're blue in the face with the Better Business Bureau and the division of Alcohol Tabbaco and Firearms. Stayed at the Downtown Durango Inn and decided to stop here for dinner since it was so convenient. I will also mention that it was already after 9pm and our options we're limited. My friends and I we're a bit disappointed that they were out of many popular and new menu items that we had to keep finding other things to order. We saw a menu on the table mentioning happy hour specials from 9p till close. It would have been nice if our waitress pointed that out so later we asked to order an appetizer. When our food came out one of our orders was wrong. The manager came out to apologize and we ordered something else and also got a free dessert which was nice to offer. The lack of menu options and waitress not topping off our drinks as much or letting us know about specials made me feel like I should have gone somewhere else to get better service. We just ate here and the food was good. Service "was" ok but the server , Vontressa, wasn't happy with the cash tip we left and she told us to take our tip. She made our experience here worse by her comment and unprofessional manner. I don't recommend eating here as the wait staff and servers are unprofessional. If tipping is an issues maybe she needs to find other options for employment as she lacks customer service, professionalism and is very rude for her comment. read more

Restaurant was next to hotel , should've read the reviews first . Ordered Rib-eye , medium rare with frys . Steak comes out and it was very well done , sent it back . New steak comes out and it was medium-rare borderline rare , so I tried cutting around rare areas but the meat did not taste right . To add insult , the cook just let my plate sit there in the kitchen while he prepared the steak as the frys were now cold ! The soup was good , which they charged me for , and the server was nice . My experience and rating is pretty consistent with the average 2-1/2 out of 5 stars overall Yelp rating. I met family here who I hadn't seen in years. There were 4 of us. We were quickly seated. It was a bit of a wait to order, no problem yet. We waited NINETY minutes for our food to come out. What's worse is we could never get the server's attention. The food was decent. During COVID-19 we needed a place where we could get takeout food. We tried Applebees and could not be happier. Call in was easy and the order taker was very polite and helpful even saying "Yes, Sir". Wow! Not common anymore. But more than that the order came out to our truck promptly and the servers were fabulous. We went twice...May 5 and May 24. We had two Oriental Chicken Salads with extra dressing and fried chicken cut up on top. Perfect. We were given an extra cup of ice for our iced tea. Great experience and we shall be back. The first server was very nice but we did not get her name, the second visit we asked and the server's name was Chastity. The servers wore masks and the food containers were perfect. We visited this Applebee's tonight and weren't impressed. My steak had a blob of gristle in the middle that was inedible. The baked potato was cold, and huge amounts of sour cream and butter were heaped on top. The broccoli was cold.too. A different potato was brought out, and no butter was on it at all. Wow, we were looking for a good early lunch yesterday, October 10, 2019, after a doctors apt in Durango. The food looked very nice and in fact tasted good. I spent the next 12 hours in the bathroom feeling like death might be a further... I ate the 9.99 lunch combo which included pasta Alfredo with an extraordinary large amount of Broccoli, grilled and fried shrimp with an bowl of onion soup to start... It was very cold in Durango yesterday... I couldn't even begin to to eat all the food I was presented with so I took at least 2/3 of my lunch service home. It was not a good night after that... We usually go after work around 10p and sit at the bar. They have half price appetizers and certain drink specials for Happy Hour. The food is good.
