We had our pup with us so we ate on the patio. It's a great patio, nice ambiance. They brought us a bowl of water for our pup!! I had the ahi tuna sandwich with a side salad as my side and my husband had the fish and chips also with a side salad and the coleslaw. My ahi sandwich bun was a little too big for me so I pulled much of it off. The ahi was thinner than I expected but had had great taste. Their fries are 'battered' and then fried so I opted for the side salad which was wonderful. Lots of veggies and even pumpkin seeds! My husbands fish was moist and tasty. The coleslaw has a bit of spice which was delightful. A great variety on the menu! We'll definitely return on our next trip through Durango!!
There are a lot of breweries to choose from in Durango, and during our family vacation we tried quite a few of them. One of our favorites was Steamworks Brewery in downtown Durango. The location was perfect for us because we were able to easily walk there from our hotel. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating, which made the experience even better. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Durango weather, and people watch while having dinner. We decided to do a beer flight so we could sample a variety of their beers before committing to a full pint. It was a great way to try different styles, and we each ended up finding a favorite. Everything we tried was really good. My husband liked their Buffalo wings and whiskey burger, I enjoyed the seared tuna bowl, and our kids liked their pizza. It is definitely a busy and popular spot, especially during peak vacation times, so I would recommend putting your name in early and expecting there could be a wait. In our opinion it was worth it. Steamworks had a great casual vibe that worked well for both families and adults wanting to enjoy a brewery experience. The downtown location adds to the charm, and it definitely felt like one of those must visit spots while in Durango.

James our server was great, he was attentive and kind without being pushy. The ceviche was good but lacking some on the amount of shrimp. The fish tacos were the highlight with fresh yummy fish. The dirty fries were decent if you don't love pulled pork I'd pass. My drink seemed watered down? I'd be curious to try their beers and ciders. The music was also quite loud so made it hard to always hear the people at our table. Overall not bad with good service, some good options but not sure about their drinks.
We ordered the pretzel and Maui Wow Pizza and both were excellent! Our Server Leilani gave us great service and food recommendations. Very cool vibe in this place. Highly recommend.
May 2026 My wife and I were visiting Durango and were in the mood for a good burger for dinner. We asked the front desk clerk at the Marriott for a recommendation, and they suggested Steamworks Brewing, so we decided to give it a try. We chose to sit out on the back deck, which was a great choice. It was much quieter than the inside and made for a relaxing dinner. We both ordered iced tea and the Bacon Royale Burger with pepper jack cheese. The burgers were very good, and I liked that they use a generous 1/2-pound patty. That said, once all the toppings are piled on, the burger gets so tall that it's difficult to take a bite. It would be nice if they also offered a slightly smaller burger for those who don't want quite as much. I also think the price could be a little lower. The fries had a good flavor, but they weren't very hot when they were served. I understand that restaurants often cook fries in batches to keep up with demand, but I'd much rather wait an extra minute or two if it means my fries come out fresh and piping hot with the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely return the next time we're in Durango. The burger was very good, the atmosphere on the back deck was relaxing, and with just a couple of small improvements, this would be an even better dining experience.
Just around the corner from Carver, this spot has dedicated prkg (so you don't have to worry about the parking meters during the weekdays), which is a nice perk in dwntwn Durango! Massive indoor seating and bar area (outside patio seating as well) with fully backed and swivel barstools (which I luv! Not sure why so many places have the backless variety). Staff was courteous and checked in frequently (also kept my water glass full, which I great appreciate especially when working through a 7 taster flight!)! Beers were true to style with their anniversary Barleywine being my fav! Food was also fantastic! I got the whiskey burger (which I had last time) to go and it was so flavorful! The beer battered fries also stand on their own, no dipping sauces needed. Burger also came out w/in the timeframe given by the staff, which I was so grateful for so I knew when to put in my to-go order.

Our server, Russell, was very friendly and on top of making sure that my friend who has some food allergies got the right ingredients in her order. I got the curry pumpkin soup and a dirty burger with fries. The pumpkin soup was yummy and flavorful. The dirty burger was delicious. The bacon jam and dirty sauce provided the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I wish I had gotten it as a kid's burger, though. The 1/2 pounder was way too much food for me and I was only able to eat half. I also got a Dirty Goat and Stranhattan to drink. They were both just okay. A bit watered down.
Due to the dynamics of kids, sometimes you can go to a restaurant and enjoy yourself or you have to run out because one of your spawn's is having a meltdown. This visit to steam works was the latter so we didn't get to try any of the adult dishes, but what we got was pretty good. The nachos are served up on a platter so they are huge and the side of salmon we ordered was large and broiled to a medium well. Nice restaurant with a cool CO feeling vibe with great waitstaff right off main.
What a incredible place. Monday night 2 Monday night football games on and the bar was completely full. A wonderful hostess got right with me and gave me a choice of a table. Food is over the top by description and from what I had which was the Thai peanut salad - had to be one of the best I've ever had! I will have to come back here with some other people so I can try more things My server's name was Gunner and he was great with his recommendations and super kind for talking to such a boring old man :-) he recommended a couple beers to try and so of course I had too. To cap it all off I had already paid and was outside getting ready to hop on my motorcycle when I realized I didn't have my gloves. At that moment, Gunner comes running out with my gloves.
The wait times for a table are a little long and parking is very hard to find. However, on the weekends, you can park pretty much anywhere after 5. It's a typical pub, a lot of noice. The food is pretty good. I had a beer (Sultan IPA) and "Some like it hot" burger with Cajun fries. Had enough to share. My mom got a Cajun broil and it was really good. Just messy to eat.

Must do if you're in Durango! This spot is popular on weekends or during big games, so plan accordingly or expect a wait. We didn't wait too long and really enjoyed our meal. We started with the Bavarian pretzel, which was served with beer cheese and mustard. It was delicious and fresh! I then had the southwestern burger, which is always a favorite of mine because of the green chilis. The burgers are always cooked nicely (I order medium) and I was able to substitute a side salad, which was easily one of the best side salads I've ever had at a brewery. We are doing dry January, so no beers this time, but had a lovely hop water that they brew there and even left with a growler full. Highly recommend Steamworks for an authentic Durango experience or if you're just trying to catch a game or hangout with friends. It definitely has fun, local brewery vibes. Came here on New Year's Eve after driving 8 hours to Colorado, they took our party of 7 and luckily we were able to join a waitlist ahead of time. I liked my chocolate espresso martini there, it tasted like chocolate milk but was pretty good. I loved the fries here, but I got the bacon cheeseburger and it tasted pretty average. There was nothing special about it and it honestly was pretty bland and needed like more flavor or sauce on it or something. They were quite busy on NYE so it did take awhile for our drinks and food to come out, and they also forgot about our one friends burger for like 15 mins so that was unfortunate. read more

We've been coming to Steamworks for years and had always brought guests there and we all raved about their pizza, especially the Maui Wowie. So much so that our friends wanted to figure out a way to have it shipped to the East coast when they weren't in town. Sadly, we noticed a change last year but it was still pretty decent. Tonight we picked up two pizzas drove home anxiously awaiting our dinner. BLEH!!! Crust was VERY dry and heavy and toppings weren't much better. Not sure if and when the recipe changed but think about bringing the larger size pizzas and the original recipe back!! I would not recommend this version at all. Carryout Service though was awesome and food was ready fast after the online order. read more

I don't know if it can be seen from the photo or not how colossally burnt and hard the chicken fried steak was. To her credit, our kind waitress had the kitchen quickly make me a new one, but honestly it was still borderline inedible. This time, due to the salt. Not only was the meat heavily salted, but the breading was overly salted as well. I couldn't even taste the meat or the breading (or even the potatoes) because it wasn't a giant plate of salt. I ate all the broccolini, a few bites of potatoes, and a few bites of steak. I hate that all restaurants, because of patrons and their salt-conditioned palates, serve the most sodium-laden monstrosities possible. I didn't feel good eating it, I didn't want to eat more than a few bites, and I left the restaurant full of regret for the bites I did take. On the plus side, the beer is exceptionally tasty, and my kids both enjoyed their meals. We are leaving tomorrow and so we won't be back, but I wouldn't be back otherwise as well. read more

This place is bigger than it looks! We didn't think they had a back patio until we were seated out there. We went because it's a brewery, but ended up eating also because the menu looked so good. If I remember right, they do. They do have a strong set of rules posted on the patio, such as feeding any food to dogs on the patio is forbidden, etc.
