I stopped by here for a solo business lunch to get my favorite blackened shrimp and andouille sausage penne pasta and a lemonade. The good thing about Applebee's is that if they do an entree right, they normally do it right across the board. The location is a little hidden off the road, but I'm sure they get good business with the hotel and Meijer within walking distance: Low-top, booth, and bar seating. Clean restrooms. After a crazy morning getting daughter moved out of dorm. My daughter went to do her thing and I grabbed a quick lunch at Applebee's it hit the spot. me and my mom got the classics combo and pretzels. It was fresh hot and tasty was very satisfied. Service was great are waitresses was very pleasant and attentive. The place was clean and comfortable. Will be returning to this location when back in Michigan later in year. read more

We've been looking forward to trying this combo since I read the email blast and saw the ad on TV. Extremely disappointed. The mashed potatoes were cold even though everything else was piping hot. Other than the BBQ sauce, the chicken was dry. The server didn't check back with us until my husband was already done with his meal. The ambience would have been good, but a couple that was sitting at a table by the entrance had little children that treated the restaurant like their own home. The girls were running up and down the aisle and yelling/playing in the waiting area. The adult guests and the staff did nothing to stop them. What happened to applebees? This place used to be affordable to take the family. Went yesterday and was expecting to spend around $50 for 2 people didnt order anything other then entrees no drinks or deserts, bill was $80 pre tip for 2 peoole. We were very disappointed with our experience at this Applebee's, which we normally love and enjoy. We have been here regularly and we've given 4 to 5 stars every time we are here. But today, my husband and I had a two meal for $35 with two beers and we had a $10 coupon if we spent $40 (which we certainly did) but we were informed that alcohol was not allowed. Very fine print which required a magnifying glass indicated that was so. Our server, Steve, was very kind and efficient and helpful. We understand that that was not his fault for the coupon having that caveat. My husband's half rack rib meal was barely a half rack, it looked more like a quarter rack, and there was no meat on the outside bone at all so he only had four small bones with a rather small amount of meat. The salmon that the wife ordered was a good meal, but I think we could have been allowed that $10 discount, especially in view of the fact, we did tell Steve that we thought the rack of ribs was quite small. This is our honest opinion of our experience tonight, and we are quite disappointed. read more

Awful experience all around. I consider myself quite patient especially when it comes to restaurant service as my significant other manages one himself, but this was unacceptable. It took 45 minutes and several reminders to get a water, our meal came out 10 minutes before the appetizers, and the server only seemed attentive when it was time to write the tip on the check. The worst part was the food..I'm not sure how someone can mess up boneless wings this badly, but they were completely raw (picture attached). So I've never really been an Applebees fan to be honest with you and as a whole this chain ranks in the lower spectrum of chains for me but to be totally honest with you my every experience here was actually a very good one. I live out of a suitcase and am staying across the street and have come in several times now out of convenience and every time has been Awesome. This location must be the perfect execution of the concept because every time in has been very exceptionally good. The food was pretty good and the service was fantastic (shout out to Owen!), but the prices are outrageous. Dinner for 2 plus tip came out to nearly $100... at APPLEBEE'S! I think they took their "Fancy Like" reputation a little too seriously. It's sad, because it used to be an inexpensive option for a decent meal out. Grabbed Applebee's while my parents were in town visiting and it was alright. We waited about 5 minutes for a hostess to acknowledge us and when we were seated, it was a server who took us to our table. Our server was nice and the food was ok. I ordered the nachos for my meal and they weren't as good as I remember them being years ago. The portion felt smaller and the ingredients weren't quite the same. My significant other got the bourbon street chicken and shrimp and said it was good. We split the artichoke dip appetizer and the portion was pretty small. The side salads were a good size and my parents were happy with their meals, too. They still have their 2 for $20-$30 special for the budget conscious diner which is a bargain if there is something you are interested in on their special menu. I couldn't leave without an Oreo shake and it definitely hit the spot! read more

It was the little things that made him stand out, refilling my water when it was half empty, stopping by every chance he had to ask if I needed anything, picking up appetizer plates when we finished with them, these are things I look for in servers at my restaurants. Surprisingly, this is my first time at an Applebee's, even though I have one close to my house. I was surprised when I got the bill at the end, because I was not aware of the cheap deal on appretizer's. I did not see it on the menu, but my appetizer was half off and I used a free coupon for my friend's appetizer from Yelp. Our server was kind, but was a bit slower. It was surprising because the restaurant was quite empty. Our food took forever to come out, and for some odd reason they brought the appetizer's out with the food. This was odd to me because normally they come first... my friend for wings, and they were not covered enough. She did ask for ranch, which was forgotten by mistake. We did have to ask again, and it took a long while for him to get one. He was super nice though, and I think he was trying to fix an order as he gave someone a different dressing instead of ranch, that they poured on their burger. He looked a bit flustered, so I felt bad to bother him. My spinach artichoke dip was delicious, but the cheese did not feel melted enough. The cheese was all hardened and stuck together. I think it was not hot enough. The actual dip was hot though, and it was delicious. I just wish the service was a little faster, considering how empty it was... no one was sitting near us at all. Honestly first time ever going to Applebee's and I was disappointed. The sweet tea wasn't sweet. I got chicken tenders on top of some mac and cheese and the tenders did not look appetizing to say the least. Mac and cheese was kind of watery and my mash potatoes were in a giant football shape. Pissed about them no longer having the $1 drinks (but I guess that's a complaint for corporate) ;) LOL. Anywase, got the $5 though. Didn't catch my waitresses name BUT she was kinda pushy. Why the hell do I do this to myself? I'm not a huge fan of the Applebees chain. With a very few exceptions along my travels, every visit is...disappointing. Todays was no exception. First and foremost, on this occasion, they had a decent staff. I'm not dishing on them. I must have been out of my mind when I ordered the 'Prime Rib Dipper' sandwich. I wasn't even drinking! Not alcohol, anyway. The 'Prime Rib Dipper' was beyond disgusting, and this comes from a guy who actually ATE Balut in the Philippines. The 'prime rib' was gristly (I expected a bit fatty, but gristle??), and was THE most salty thing I've ever (tried) to eat. Wow. The FDA ought to have a warning about that damn thing. Fries were cold. Im easy to please with fries, but damn, cold is a deal breaker. You know it's a bad meal when the BEST part of it was the ketchup for the fries. Again, not beating the staff up...they are nice people, but avoid that 'Prime Rib Dipper' sandwich like you would the bubonic plague. Just DON'T order it! read more

Applebee's is underrated. My experience was fantastic. The server was attentive, the location was convenient and I was very surprised the food was great. I also had two toddlers and this was all ok! Great kids menu. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the Impossible burger. My stepson also enjoyed his regular cheeseburger. I also apprciated the atmosphere with 80s/90s music and of course we had great service from the staff, otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered to write this! Put in a pick up order for my family and I for curbside and the waitress literally did not speak like came to the car and said nothing. It was only after I prompted conversation and told her the name of the order did she speak! Like why do I have to start the convo isn't that part of the job!! Going in is one thing, but for someone like me whom has a disability and prefers take out or delivery (DoorDash) every time I've waited LONG times for my food. I was told sometimes when I go and pick up to wait at the ToGo area.. the older woman with dark hair rolls her eyes at me several times, consistently is rude and shoved food at me like I was an inconvenience to her. I like getting food from Applebee's, but that kind of ToGo service that is CONVENIENT for me, again, with someone who has a disability, is just ridiculous and uncalled for. Had a very unfortunate experience at this location. We had a party of roughly 12 and the hostess was too lazy to push tables together, so she said she would seat us at two high tops next to each other. Service was extremely slow and almost all of our food came to the table luke-warm or cold. Some of us returned our food while others were too hungry to bother. One member of the group had one modification to their order and it was brought to the table missing half of the ingredients. Neither the waiter or manage were sincere with their apology. I honestly was a fan of Applebees for what it is/was. I know not to expect a gourmet meal, but I at least expect to get a warm, correct, meal in a reasonable amount of time. Sidenote: The decor in Applebees is so bland now. I know the "random stuff on the wall" concept is a thing of the past, but it seems like the other restaurants that used to have that style of decor did a much better job of recreating their image. In reality, I will probably return to an Applebees in the future, purely out of circumstance. I have had many good experiences before and hopefully my future visits will be more like those. read more

My drink had no liquor inside of it and came out barely slushy, loose forming after being at table for a few minutes while the person I was with drink was still slushy. I get this drink every time i come here and never had any problems about the consistency. The server had a very rude nasty attitude and had her air pods in her ear as she came to our table. Also never came to check on us until it was time to see if we were ready for the bill. Despite that, a tip was left that was over 7% of what the receipt suggests. read more

Applebee's used to be my go-to place to eat. It's been awhile since I dined in the restauraunt, so today, I decided to give it a try. My friend and I ordered different 2 for $30 meals. My meal was the 8oz steak and my friend ordered the chicken broccoli alfredo. I will begin with my friends entre'. The pasta seemed to be simply melted butter and there seemed to be no alfredo sauce anywhere on the plate, which made everything so dry. My friend asked the waiter if he could have a little alfredo sauce to put on his dry entre' because it was not edible. The waiter brought back a little cup of sauce. I must admit the sauce had a wonderful flavor. My entre' which consisted of an 8oz steak (extra charge), onion soup (extra charge), and french fries. I requested my steak to be prepared medium rare (pink in the center) and when it came out, it was well-well done, tough and chewy. I waited until the waiter returned and showed him the steak. The waiter apologized and could obviously see the steak was comparable to a piece of leather and promptly returned it to the kitchen. The soup seemed to be missing the onion soup. In the bowl was a layer of cheese and a piece of bread, with very little broth and what seemed to be just 2 onion strands. This is hardly what I would call onion soup. Let's run a piece of onion thru the soup and call it good...hmm The soup required seasoning. Finally, after another 10-15 minutes my steak arrived. I cut into the steak and it seemed close to the right directions specified so I tried it. The steak used to have the most wonderful flavor in the past, but today, it simply tasted like a piece of beef thrown on the grill with no spices/flavor. Not wanting to wait for another attempt, I started to eat the steak. I could honestly say that out of the 8oz steak, there was maybe 4-5 oz of edible meat. The remainder was gristle, which the waiter again apologized for. Applebee's seemed to have a different supplier for their beef and it is definitely not a quality product. The french fries were just ok. After eating our entre' we decided to try the Blondie. I would say the Blondie was excellent and the best part of the meal. My suggestion for this location is that if you decide to dine, simply order appetizers and dessert. Save your money and skip the entre'. If interested, I do have pictures of the steak to share. One last mention, the bill came and the waiter charged $2 additional for the alfredo sauce which was missing from the pasta. Prices are up (increased) and quality is down. Try somewhere else for your dinner. read more

We order Applebee's because it was next to the hotel we were staying in. I got the riblet basket, and was disappointed by the tiny amount of meat mixed in with sharp rib bones. My husband's bacon cheeseburger had no bacon. Plus it looked like 2 smaller burgers they tried to glue together with tons of melted cheese. He wasn't happy either. Not planning a return visit. (Don't worry, I didn't finish it all). It was a bit disappointing, even with not terribly high expectations. The spinach artichoke dip was watery, and the mini quesadillas might as well have been cardboard. The mozzarella sticks had an unexpected lime flavor and the chips were fresh. The boneless wings were the best part. My brother's fries were the most disappointing of all. Borderline cold. But the girl who wanted on us was really sweet. read more
