I went in for lunch, as it was a very hot day and I wanted to cool off and get a bite while out running a long errand list. I got there about 11:45 hoping to beat the lunch rush. Got table right away, and ordered a water with lemon to drink and the AYCE combo of chicken strips, "double crunch" shrimp and riblets. I started with the strips. 20 minutes later, I still didn't even have my water. Went to the bar and asked the bartender since she wasn't busy. She informed me that since I was at a table it was the server's job, not hers, to supply my drinks. OK. I waited another 5 minutes and the server finally showed up with my water and strips. You're allowed two sauces so I picked Buffalo and their "House made ranch. Neither were very good. The ranch was very runny and the Buffalo was a strange pink color. It was very bitter with little heat. The strips themselves were pretty bland, but they were properly cooked and had a decent crunch. Portion size was small, and they were served with limp, wet fries. After the strips I asked for the shrimp, with the Sweet Chili Asian sauce and Hot honey sauce. Server informed me they come with cocktail sauce. I said that's fine but could I also get the others. She said you only get two. Mind you the sauces come in a 1 oz baby ramekin. I begged and she relented. The shrimp portion was even smaller than the chicken - 5 very small shrimp. They were bigger than popcorn, but not by much. One bite. They were, however, crunchy as advertised and not overcooked but very heavy on the breading. More flavor than the chicken. Wait time was about 20 minutes again, and the place was NOT busy. Next I tried the riblets. They were decent but again a very small portion. They were tender but bland, and only about 4 total bites of meat. Wait time again was about 20 minutes. When the riblets came I asked if she could bring a double order of shrimp, and she looked at me like I had asked her to dance naked on the bar, and said that's not allowed!! I said OK, just one then. She snarkily asked if I expected her to make an exception to the sauce again, and I said yes. Well, 20 minutes later I got another 5 small shrimp. At the end of the day, I spent about an hour and 45 minutes there (and another 15 after I asked for the check) and got 3 small, bland chicken strips, 10 very small shrimp and 2 razor-thin riblets for $17. Definitely wouldn't go there for lunch if I only had an hour for lunch, and probably not any other reason. I rarely do any kind of AYCE, but I was really hungry. I had a power outage today and it was around lunchtime. Everything was down including my Internet. I did not want to open the fridge to take something out to heat up because the power company could not give me an estimated time for reinstatement of power. Also, the microwave was not working, so I ordered delivery from Applebee's and was not disappointed! It was cold in the house even though I had turned the gas fireplace on, making an order of the French Onion soup a top choice, all the while I wondering how the cheese on top was going to survive delivery. It arrived nice and warm and came with a perfectly fitting bread round topped with pre melted cheese that you just put on top of you soup- so perfect! The cheese was nice and mealty and the soup was delicious. I also ordered the beer pretzels and these are truly grown up pretzels! The beer dipping sauce and the nicely spiced honey mustard sauce were the perfect accompaniments to these soft and chewy pretzels. This is a great snack for two or more people (yeah I have a little snackey for later). I also ordered the blackened shrimp Caesar salad- just so I don't feel so guilty and can tell myself I ate something healthy...anyone who sees the photos of the soup and the pretzels knows that is not true! This Applebee's is close to the hotel so I went and got takeout steak and shrimp Parmesan and it was a horrible piece of meat, the meat was tough and full of gristle. try to cut it with that piece of crap plastic knife actually broke the knife, trying to cut that piece of leather the only thing that was edible was the vegetables for $23. You could buy a better piece of meat. I stay in this hotel every week, but I will never go back to that Applebee's. read more

We came in to try the menu. Both my partner and I were hungry but after a 30 minute wait, we let the waitress know that we were only paying for the drink we got because the wait time was ridiculous! Some lady came out and told us she wasn't wasting food and that the waitress already had our order ready. Then why didn't she bring out our food if it was ready? This is our normal neighborhood Applebee's, but the last 2 visits have been horrible and tonight was the last straw. Large party of 10, 5 people never got their appetizers, got their entrées before told about appetizers. One onion ring appetizer burned, beer sat on bar counter for 17 minutes. Waitress was somewhat lethargic and nonchalant! Manager came to table to drop off food and we complained about service and he was never seen again. The side of fries on burger plate was sad. Redd Rd Applebee's has the worst service. My 9yr old asked to go the Applebee's for her birthday dinner. We told our waiter it was our child's birthday and ask if they could sing happy birthday to her we ordered a blonde ( did not want their ice cream) just ask they sing to her. He said they were too busy. They had just sang happy birthday to someone else not 5 minutes before our asking. There were only 10 tables with people that already had their food and No one at the bar!!!You can't tell me they were too busy! When I confronted the manager she tried to justify their being too busy. Not applicable! If you have time to sing for someone else you have time to sing for a child!! Ridiculous!! read more

I want to first start off by saying that Javier was a good waiter! He is definitely over worked and does way more than his co-workers. We saw him running around the whole time while his co workers were not in sight. He was basically running the whole restaurant. The main reasons we put 3 stars is because while we were eating our appetizer, my gf noticed the hostess, Hunter (young girl with blonde hair and blue nails) was vaping in the lobby of the restaurant. The next time she did it, my gf told me to turn around and there she was, vaping. I have nothing against it but the fact that she was doing it at work, was very unprofessional and kinda dirty. Myself, I am very sensitive to smoke so if I was seated near the front, I would have began coughing. Not only that but some people have asthma and are allergic to that so it was not a good look. If she really needed it, she should have stepped out and went about her business. Now onto the food. Everything was good! We got the sampler and enjoyed it very much! My girlfriend got the 4 cheese honey pepper chicken mac and cheese and I got the crispy chicken salad with a side of Buffalo sauce and ranch. Over all, everything was tasty! read more

From walking into Applebee's, there was trash on the floor. There was three hostesses, a trash can that was overflowing. The restaurant is not filled and hostess walks us over to a dirty table, realizes and asks us to wait will she wipes it off. I look over and there is a family, having children myself, I know it's a challenge keeping things clean. Although this family had more food on the floor than on their plates! No effort was made to clean the area, every part of the floor had food, napkins and straws. It's unfortunate Applebees was a neighborhood favorite and i hadn't been in a while and I won't be going back! read more

The service was absolutely terrible employees were vaping in the restroom! When we ordered food we ordered unlimited wings and they limited us to only 6 wings when they told us mid way through our meal! Applebee's, one day you'll get your sh*t together. One day. I wouldn't go as far to say that I ever loved Applebee's, but it used to be a neutral experience and that's all I really ever needed. Any Applebee's for that matter. I have yet to find an Applebee's in El Paso that lives up to it's old habitually ordinary experience. Five or six years ago, coming to this specific Applebee's was normal. Nothing unexpected. No complaints. Fast forward to a few months ago, we ended up walking out after a hostess didn't seat us for nearly 30 minutes even though there were multiple tables open and not a single table that hadn't already ordered. Interesting. A few weeks ago we went again thinking okay maybe it was just a fluke of an experience. Nope, we waited a good 10 minutes for a hostess to magically appear and at least greet us before I just threw my hands up in exasperation, grabbed menus, and seated us. Yes, I did what someone is paid to do because even though multiple employees briskly walked past us and I did in fact see the two hostesses sitting in a booth towards the back laughing and talking with the manager (yes, BOTH of the hostesses were horsing around... great thought manager), no one ever acknowledged us. Wowza. It's all very strange to me because even though a hostess never told the waiter that we had been seated, a waiter came over (kind of debunks everything the manager tried to say on our previous trip, but whatever... there aren't enough words to even begin to try telling that story). What would've been an otherwise 1 star rating was saved by the simple fact that the waiters seem to be aware that their money is dependent on the customer having a good experience so they are the only saving grace. I stopped here for lunch and Applebee's has a lot to offer. Meals range from salads, fish, burgers to steak. They also serve alcohol as well. The center of the store is a bar for those who want to watch sports on TV. The booth seat also have TV screens to view an event as well. This used to be our favorite Place to eat but now NO! We had an order that took almost 3 hours to get to our house. When the food arrived it was of course cold and terrible. We immediately called the manager and he said he would comp our meal. He said it would take 72 hours to process.... it's been almost 3 weeks and many calls to the manager, general manager and even the district manager! And they send us 25$ gift card? Our bill was 82$!!! The management in this place is an absolute abomination I mean common you can't even can't comp a meal that is wrong and late! I wish I could leave 0 stars. Came here for dinner with family after the movies. Overall the experience was okay. Server took forever to come and take our drink order, but I guess in her defense is the place was pretty packed. My food was good but it was pretty cold both the fries and sandwich. My brother and I ordered the Brew Pub Philly and my mother ordered the Double Crunch Shrimp. She found the meal to be very filling. I tried it found it to be pretty good as well. For dessert my family ordered the Apple Shimmy which was deliciois but should be served with real utensils instead of plastic spoons. It makes it difficult to eat the dessert with plastic spoons. We also got the Triple Chocolate meltdown which was way too rich in sugar for my taste but my brother loved it. I mean overall it was a very simple slightly dull average visit. The only reason I'm giving this place 1 star is that there are TVs present and working. The service was very poor and the food was just as bad, if not worse. There was only one bartender for 10 people sitting at the bar so it wasn't the tender's 100% fault. I order the SIZZLING bourbon chicken and shrimp and it was by no means sizzling. There was also very little shrimp and a TON of onions. I basically just paid $14 for onions and a side of chicken. My friend ordered a burger and fries and her fries were cold. You'd think you couldn't mess up a salad, but this was the nastiest salad I have ever had. The dressing was the worst store-bought cheap out I have ever tasted in a mainstream eatery. Also our waitress didn't even know what to write down for me ordering the salad. The ticket ended up saying, "...caesar salad". On my mother's side, her chicken was unseasoned and bland. Not to mention it sounded like a potato chip when she cut into it. The asparagus was expected, and the macaroni and cheese was okay also despite the fact it tasted like it was left out in the counter about 10 minutes prior to bringing it out. This was totally garbage. I will never show up here again. Coming here is a waste of your time. Not to mention our waiter wouldn't stop talking about if we spend $1.99 we would get unlimited games and margaritas when clearly, none of us were interested as we said no thanks after each time he mentioned something. After waiting 30 minutes for our food, the waitress finally brought it out without one of the side dishes (mac n cheese) and she did not apologize or offer a freebie, just acted like this was business as usual. My side dish finally arrived after I had finished eating, again, with no apology. My wife did not like the taste of her shrimp stir fry (said it was "really bad") and it was cold. After waiting 30 minutes, we were about to leave 2 dollars for the 1 dollar drink on the table and walk out. Hostess who sat us was very nice at the start. Went on a Friday evening and the place was full. We got sat right away and we were explained the specials. We immediately ordered an appetizer and drinks and they came out just as quickly as we ordered them. When our dinner dishes came out my wife felt hers was too spicy so she asked for something else. I was ready to pay for the dish she didn't like but when the bill came it wasn't on there. That was nice. As we were eating I could easily tell the staff was working as a team.
