Stopped by Applebees in Forestville, MD for a late lunch/early dinner. When we arrived the place was almost empty with only a few patrons. Since it was slow the Service was Friendly and Fast to our Delight. The drinks and appetizers arrived quickly and both were Delicious and Refreshing. The entrees followed up shortly afterwards and both our entrees were Hot and Delicious . I was Really Impressed this time around, because in the past I've had a few issues with service at this location, but not today. Thanks Again Applebee's in Forestville, we will Definitely be back Soon!!!

    What the pic looks like.

I asked to separate the plates for brownie bite. Was told she'd have to make it to go. I pointed to cake pic to show the scoop size & got the cake. I've been getting them since it was $1.99. It's now $3.49 & less icecream. I was given what's shown on this pic. Cold fudge & nuts. Manager made it over but argued about the pic. Does pic 1 look like pic 2 even in 2 separate plates?

This location by far, has the most un-professional ill mannered untrained staff I've ever been subjected to. I visited this location for dinner twice within the last week and have not eaten a bite of food from them. On 2/13/25, My bf and I visited this location and again on Monday 2/17/25, arriving around 8p on both days. On 2/13/25 we were sat by a hostess and that's about the sum it. We waited over 23 minutes and no one ever acknowledged that we were sitting there. Servers walked back and forth averting their eyesight from the large corner both where the two of us were sitting. At the 25 minute mark we left and went to another restaurant. On 2/17/25 my bf arrived at 8:05p and I arrived at 8:12p. By 8:20p no one had come to the table so I stopped a person that appeared to work there and asked if she would send the server over? About 5 minutes after that a young female approached the table, ( I later find out her name), although she did not introduce herself at that time. she immediately asked if we had any drink orders? I then replied "yes and I would like an order of buffalo wings with ranch dressing" My BF then proceeded to ask her, "what flavors of margaritas do you have?" She ran down flavors like mango, passion fruit, strawberry. When she got to strawberry, my BF interrupted her and said, "I'll get the strawberry margarita" and I said "make that two." She left the table and walked about two steps, turned around and said, "you want boneless right?" I replied and said "No bone in." She turns around and continues on her way. About 10 minutes later, she comes back to the table with two light yellowish drinks, sets them down and says, "I'll come back to take your order." I stopped her and asked what flavor margarita was in front of us and she replied, "passion fruit." I replied , "I'm sorry , but this is not what we ordered." She quickly responded, "yes it is!" and "well we don't have strawberry anyway!" There was another issue with the order. I attached what I tried to order in person like I did online . It's too negative for yelp so we'll skip ahead. I asked another server to get the manager When the manager, came out he greeted us , introduced himself and asked how he could help us? Within seconds of my bf and I beginning to explain that we had an issue with the server and overall customer service in that particular location the server walked by and overheard me saying "I don't know her name but we were sitting......" before I could begin to point to where we were sitting, she interjected and said, ". My name is ____!" Further illustrating her lack of professionalism. He heard us out, but then defended her by offering a reason for her misunderstanding my order, by showing me something on the backside of the menu. I contended with the fact that I was pointing to the menu item when I was ordering, So overall less than 1 star if I could, this is why people go across the bridge to VA or go to DC. Unprofessionalism at its finest!

It was just a quick visit on an extremely rainy day. This location smells like mold and dirty. I believe it is a very old establishment and needs lots of upgrade to be made. Our waiter was not knowledgeable and didn't make any effort in responding to our questions when asked about the drinks from the bar (ya'll lost out on us buying some drinks). The selection of food on the menu is varied however we chose the "all you can eat" for $14.99 promo that basically is an overload of carbs with unlimited fries, breaded shrimps, breaded boneless wings and very saucy riblets. The downfall is that you can not order more than one protein at a time this creating a problem when the waiter is not constantly coming to your table to place more of the orders. The whole thing was messy and have no plan on returning to this establishment any time soon. The only thing I can say is, the fries where freshly made!

Upon our arrival around 10 minutes before 8 PM, we were asked for identification as we proceeded to the bar. Everything seemed fine until we left around 10:11 PM. As my husband retrieved his cigarettes from his coat pocket and grabbed our clear food container, a security guard, a heavy-set gentleman in a purple sweatshirt and blue jeans, without any visible identification or formal security apparel, hustled behind us, inquiring about a drink cup. Despite having food, we were treated with suspicion. A second security personnel member followed (Not schedule to work named Charles W.), dressed in casual street clothes without any visible identification or formal security apparel adding to the discomfort with an aggressive demeanor. I voiced my concern, stating, "We are not like that." This wasn't just an innocent misunderstanding; it felt like profiling. As my husband enjoyed his cigar, the second security guard continued to watch us, which was both unwarranted and unsettling. In an environment that claims to embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we saw none of that during our visit. Questions for the owner of Hideaway Restaurant: 1. Why do your security staff not wear recognizable uniforms or badges? How are patrons supposed to identify your security personnel? 2. What protocols are in place to ensure that all staff, especially security, are trained in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion standards? 3. How do you handle incidents of alleged profiling or discrimination, and what measures are taken to address such concerns? 4. Can you explain the training procedures for security personnel regarding interactions with patrons, especially in terms of recognizing and addressing possible biases? 5. What actions will you take to ensure that no other patrons experience what we did? 6. Are your security personnel certified and properly trained according to Maryland state regulations? We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, irrespective of their background. I urge everyone who has faced similar issues to share their stories. Please share your thoughts and experiences as we stand together against harassment and discrimination!

The place reminds me of a juke joint in a rural town. Nothing bad, but all I could think of is this place could have been a second location in Sinners. Located on the side of 301 surrounded by tractor repair shops, auto repair places, and an oddly placed church. We walked in and the music was pumping and almost every table was full. No cover charge, no security screening, no ID check. The smell of fried wings, liquor, and too much perfume/cologne permeated the place. What was absent was the smell of any smoke, which is a huge plus. The place is homey and oddly cozy. The drinks seemed to be poured appropriately. The cups are plastic but the prices were low even for top-shelf cognac so it was a win. My friends had the wings and they loved them. Almost every high top and low table seemed to be enjoying the wings too. We didn't play pool but it seemed to be several pool tables that were in heavy use. The music was 90s and 2000s Hip Hop, Go-Go, and R&B. Solid play list played from a system with no DJ. A few people danced, but most folks were just talking, chilling, and vibing out. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just a cool scene. It is what it is, a juke joint/pool hall. Spartan but in a good dive bar way.

"Waste o' time, Bobby, you won't find the critter there," Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), the oldest of the teenagers that make up the New Mutants, responded, "It'll be here." "What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.
