I am extremely disappointed by the experience I had at The Hideout Sports Bar. A family member had been telling me about this place for quite some time and encouraging me to visit, especially for karaoke. When I finally stopped by, I actually enjoyed myself. I liked the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. I even thought it was somewhere I would return to regularly, especially after learning that it was a black-owned business. As someone who intentionally supports black-owned businesses whenever possible, I was excited to have discovered a new place to support. Unfortunately, that changed at the end of the night. As closing time approached, I was standing with a glass of wine in my hand when, to my surprise, a member of the security staff (tall African American man with locs) randomly walked up to me and took the drink directly out of my hand. There was no "Excuse me." No "Ma'am, we're closing, I'll give you a few seconds to finish your drink, then you have to leave." No polite request to finish my drink and make my way out. Nothing! I completely understand that businesses have closing times. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of respect and professionalism in the way the situation was handled. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to remove a drink from my hand without first speaking to me. A simple conversation would have accomplished the exact same result. Instead, the interaction felt rude, unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly insulting. What bothered me most was how easily the situation could have been handled differently. A customer who is calmly standing with a drink in her hand should not be treated as though she is incapable of understanding a simple request. Respectful communication costs nothing! As someone who makes a conscious effort to support black-owned businesses, this experience was especially disappointing. I walked into The Hideout wanting to support the establishment and left feeling more disrespected than I have ever felt at any business I have patronized. After sharing my experience with a few individuals, I was surprised to learn that more than one person reported having negative interactions with the same security guard. I can only speak to my own experience, but hearing similar stories from others makes me wonder whether this behavior is an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. It is unfortunate that the actions of one employee completely changed my perception of what otherwise appeared to be a great establishment. One employee's behavior was enough to ensure that I will not return. I do not spend my money where I am treated with disrespect, spoken down to, or handled as though I am a child! I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because no customer should be treated this way. Respect is the bare minimum when interacting with paying customers, and this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple, polite request. Please train your staff to do better! read more

I went here the other night with some friends and they took care of our party. While there is limited parking at this place. It reminds you of a local bar watering hole to unwind after work. There is alot of TVs and a pool table. Some nights its game nights and a DJ is there. The drinks are great and the wings are just right. If you are a wing person this is the place for you! read more

You come for the drinks, but you'll end up staying for the atmosphere. The pours are generous so if you're coming with friends, bring a designated driver. You'll definitely get your money's worth. 5:00 on the nose and the bar was full, SHEESH! And it's not on the smaller end either, it seats like 15 people. I had tried to come to this bar one night because I knew they were doing karaoke, and that was a mistake... the parking lot was completely full. I didn't even realize how large it was -- I had to park somewhere in the back and walk over. I had a friend go on ahead and he said it was completely packed in there. Fast forward to more recently, I planned to meet up with friends there, and that's when I was surprised to see a full bar at 5:00. There are some high tables around the bar and even those were occupied. There's a second room with several more high tables, a DJ booth, and a pool table. That side was completely empty, so that's where our party of 4 had to go. Regardless of where you sit, you must order at the bar. Their happy hour is a pretty darn good deal -- eats start at $3, and strong drinks like long islands are only $6. I got the mango habanero wings -- that's a favorite flavor of mine that never lets me down. And flavor aside, their wings are great! I was surprised when a DJ took over around 6:00 on a Tuesday! I will start this review on a positive, the food at this place is excellent. Especially for Bar food, some favorites are the deviled eggs and the wings. Drinks are strong and priced well. I went on a Friday night around 10pm and it was busy. My friends and I initially grabbed a space at the bar to try and order food but this proved to be a lot harder than we thought. BE CAREFUL of the rift raft. I was attacked and jumped inside and outside of this bar on friday. I had my gun stolen and security shady. Dont think you are safe because the cameras inside dont work. I believe they saw me by myself and saw an opportunity to steal from in an unprovoked altercation. Security targeted me instead of the aggressors and I feel it was a setup. I know the security gaurd with the dreads stole my gun, just found this fools flashlight in my purse.This clown made a whole lie of claiming it fell out of my purse on the ground. Turning it into the police. God dont like ugly! This bar is not safe at all. Tried to speak to the owner and she doesn't care. I bet she is in on it too. Why you aint got the cameras on? Stay away from the hideout if you want a drink and a bite to eat. It is chaotic and significantly understaffed! Ordering a drink requires much effort and involves jockeying for position to get the one bartender's attention, which takes a long time. Good luck. Oh, and the one bartender also serves the food for the entire place, so there is no one at the bar half the time. So bad. And don't even make an effort to order food. Ours never arrived after waiting for an hour. We finally had it and checked out; of course, our food order was on the check and had to be removed because, as I said, we were waiting for an hour and got nothing! Got here at 9pm. Got a table that was dirty with another groups checks and old drinks on the table. Husband got drinks at bar and was told someone would come and clean our table. Came here as a recommendation from a friend. It's a neighborhood staple for several years according to the locals in there. They have karaoke and pool tables but the best part was in my opinion the food! Ordered lemon pepper wings and seasoned fries; the wings were seasoned to the bone like they were injected with seasoning or something , crispy like I like them and overall outstanding, the fries were seasoned as well. My friend ordered the fried deviled eggs which to her they were okay but the total effect wasn't tasted with one bite. The drinks are definitely good I hate ghat I don't remember the bartender she is one of the reasons I will return. The hideout gives me Cheers vibes where everyone knows you. So glad I came here - a friend told me about it a few months ago and I had it bookmarked! I must say, this place can be a lil hidden if you're not paying attention...my GPS kept telling "you have arrived" and I did not see it at all (also it was pretty dark out). Parking in front of the bar is tight, but there is actually additional parking around the back which I didn't see until I parked a lil further down. I was starving after a long day and I ordered a chicken quesadilla appetizer and some wings. The quesadillas were a full meal size! The wings were delicious - yummy in my tummy and no it wasn't because I was so hungry. They really were that good! I've been scoping the place since the beginning of the pandemic after moving to Laurel and wanting to find a local bar. I finally made it out and had a good time! It's clear they have regulars and everyone was having fun. Happy hour prices are great and even though I don't usually eat meat, I tried the wings because of the reviews and the lack of menu options for me. The flavor was good, but I wish they were fried harder. Will make the request next time if I order food, but will likely eat before going. This place is a nice hidden gem. The thing that has them falling short of 5 stars is how tight it is inside. You can really breathe or sit near the bar. The room that they have on the other side is more comfortable to sit and enjoy yourself (but you still have to walk over to the bar to enjoy). Other than this the food that I got was delicious. On a Friday night (11:30PM) I was invited by a friend I havent seen in 20 years to join him to have some drinks here. I arrived not knowing what to expect. I thought it was going to be a Country Music/Biker Bar with locals. The exact opposite they had a DJ playing Trap/Hiphop music. They had flat screen TVS and pool tabes. This is one of the places you cant judge on the outside. The security at the door was cool and the bartenders were friendly. I dont remember the drink specials. I was tipsy when I left so I will be back to do another yelp review. Priorto coming I heard Yelp reviews that the Fried Devilish Eggs are a must eat... Yes they are a must have. The bartender brings me my bill before my food even comes out... I look around and see she hasn't done this to anyone else, so I'm confused. I just let the bill sit there until my food comes. At this point I'm just trying to eat and go. So I do. I put my card down on the bill and all of a sudden her urgency is gone. I'm waiting to pay and she's walking right past me for about 7 minutes, but I wait patiently. She finally swipes my card when I notice that she charged me an extra $10??? When I try to get her attention to ask about it she pretends like she can't hear me. So then I ask a man standing behind me it automatic gratuity is a thing, just so she doesn't try to gaslight me, he says hell no. He also says that he's been going to this spot a while and noticed the bartender isn't very attentive or kind to young women who come in the bar. Now I look around and notice that the bar is full of older men. I thank him for his honesty and basically have to yell "EXCUSE ME" to get the bartenders attention. I point out she overcharged me and she pretends it was an accident (I've worked in the food industry, I've seen it all). She then tells me she accidentally put the man at the bar next to me's drink on mine... he had a rail drink which was $6 so that can't be true because you charged me $10 extra? Just your average bar to watch a game. It's pretty small inside. I didn't try any food so I can't rate the food. The drinks weren't that pricey. I had a crown royal on the rocks ran me about $7.
