Two sodas were actually carbonated water. We had to draw location attention to it. This was corrected but it was grudgingly so (comment later "I got busy making the additional sodas". BUSY? Applebee's bar and grill is ole faithful for sure. Service is always constantly good. Drinks are always cheap and strong. Food is always made fresh to order and they always have a deal of some kind going on. My husband always gets the steak, and I usually just get the chicken and rice entree. I love that their bar is fast, if I order a dirty martini, it will be in my hand within 5 minutes. My husband always orders whatever their signature $5-6 beverage, he has yet to say one was not good. Our servers are usually pretty good although sometimes our table tablets dont work which makes them work harder. I would advise not to eat at this location, unless you have unlimited free time. The service was actually the worse part. We were met by a greeter yelling from the back of the building. While being sitting I had to inform them the table they were trying to seat us at was still dirty with crumbs and noticeable sticky stains. Instead, of cleaning the table, I was asked to show where I saw the crumbs and stains at. Once identified by the worker it was "cleaned". Once seated we ordered everything right away, which was 2 kids cheeseburgers, a 6oz steak, and a western bacon burger. The frustrating part was when we were trying to order our food. The waiters cell phone rang in the middle of it, and instead of silencing the phone and taking the orders, she answered her phone . We waited over an hour without any communication from the workers, when I would stop them and ask for details I would be met with the food is coming. The whole time I was there I noticed most of the workers on their phones instead of servicing the customers. When the food came it was fine just standard Applebees. But there needs to be a serious overhaul of its staff with training. There is poor communication, lack of attention to detail. I am done with this Applebees! I asked for my burger to be pink but not only is it not pink its way over done to the point of being hard. It's inedible, plus they put no ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise, it's dry! There was a what looked like a spoiled piece of tomato and no lettuce. The Garfield Heights, Ohio Vista Way location is local restaurant for me and I have gone here multiple times. This visit I managed to get a nice long black piece of hair in my salad. I want to be mad however I've been with others to this same location and they have had hair in their food at some point. At this point it's a shame on me for taking chances on a place that clearly doesn't value the idea of employees wearing hair nets. I was lucky enough to not eat the salad before noticing the hair. Waitress never came and checked on us or offered refills of our drinks. Once food was brought I had to ask for refills. I must say after my last visit at the Macedonia location this dine in experience was delightful. I wasn't sure if I was going to patronize this franchise again, but the Area Manager was amazing (Tony) he was very understanding and handled the situation in a timely manner. I visited this new Applebee's with a friend. It's Kinda hard to find at night so you guys should light up that sign so we can see it. As well add some lighting to that back path to get there. I have to drive through a wasteland to get to the Applebees oasis so I must be committed to going there. I sit down at the bar the hear the servers complaining about how many high school aged kids chose to eat at Applebees after homecoming ( why didn't Applebees prepare for this ?) The Service was lethargic at best. Unorganized, snapping at one another, yelling at each other in the kitchen. This does not seem like a great workplace. The fact that most of the things are closed or not even constructed around this Applebees should make them feel special, most businesses didn't make it when Walmart left. This should make the staff want to make the customer experience a better one every time someone chooses to stop in. It should be a pleasant surprise that this place is here and the staff is happy to see me there. Invest in great people who want to make a great experience for patrons or close. This is one of the few sit down restaurants with servers in Garfield and you should use that to your advantage. read more

OK, I know. It's Applebee's, so many of you restaurant connoisseurs are making a smooshy face right now and considering clicking away. And that's OK - the fact that there are only three reviews of Applebee's on Vista Way tells me that either yelpers don't eat there or they are too embarrassed to check in. I feel you, but I'm totally cool with Applebee's. There's nothing generally "big deal" about this chain restaurant. My wife and I were dating almost twenty years ago at the Applebee's in Middleburg, so maybe I have a little sentimental thing happening (and I do honestly miss that old formulation of the Tequila Lime Chicken) but also, it's really a good spot if, like me, you have two 16 year olds who just completed an athletic event and hadn't had dinner yet because the varsity matches don't start until 7 PM (we won, by the way). Just because there is no "big deal" doesn't mean I won't eat there - as you can see by my reviews, I'm a big fan of greasy spoons and dives, so Applebee's is a big night out for me. Well, not really, but I don't have an automatic judgment for Applebee's either. So the details: The restaurant was nearly completely empty at 9:30 PM on a Tuesday which was not unexpected. We were of course seated immediately. The service was very efficient and the food items came out quickly and correctly. All of this is good because there was absolutely no reason for any kind of error to happen. Some mozzarella sticks, A burger, some macaroni and cheese with shrimp, and a Thai salad. All the food was good and the service was good as well. Like I said, no culinary ground is really being broken here. One nice special was the dessert S'mores Churros. A Churro as you probably know is a fried dough dessert that is usually in a stick or tube form and rolled in sugar and cinnamon. In this case, the churros were served with warm dipping chocolate and marshmallow fluff. The teens were quite happy to eat them. Bill for three with dessert was around $45 including tip. I feel like I should address the issue of the building site since one person seems to have reviewed the architecture rather than the actual restaurant - yes, the Vista View site was built on a landfill, and yes Wal-Mart ran out on their lease because of the perception of instability - allegations of gas leaking from the landfill into structures, et cetera. These issues have all been investigated by multiple agencies independent of the city and the developers, and if these structures were unsafe these businesses would not operate here. The side where the Applebees is has quite a few restaurants in place. It does look like a barren wasteland looking toward the Giant Eagle plaza, and there is a partially built structure nearby - so I agree that it's not picturesque, but since I'm not reviewing geology or structural engineering, I'm giving this restaurant good marks. read more
