The food came quick and our waitress was awesome...but the manager seemed drunk, dancing and singing. Maybe he was just that happy of a person. The food was horrible. So much salt we were unable to eat the vegetables. The meat was tasteless and overcooked. The burger was completely apart but was good after putting back together. And to top it off, I ask for A1 sauce and receive a spoon full in a cup. Needless to say we will not be eating there again. read more

A wonderful dinning experience. The staff and management were an absolute Delight. I had the all day brunch burger and onion rings and my husband had the quesadilla burger with onion rings. The food was hot fresh and excellent. I had a rum and coke which I was very pleased it was not watered down it was quite strong unlike a lot of other places. The sweet tea was not overly sweet and the atmosphere was terrific. This location has improved tenfold over the last year and we will be returning thank you Applebee's for making our date night perfect! read more

I have been to Applebee's a lot! The customer service has always been great with each different hostess & sever we have ever gotten. A couple of times the manager has come out walking around asking the customers if their service, food, & drinks were good. The menu has a variety of different foods for anybody that is picky you will definitely find something to eat here. read more

My Husband and I used to frequent this place a lot when we first moved to the area many years ago. The past several times we have been we have had the worst experiences ever, between the wait staff, the kitchen and the lack of management... we won't be back for quite a while. Our family of five just had Sunday lunch at Applebees of Goldsboro. The manager was friendly and professional. He and the servers checked on us frequently for drink refills or, on any other requests that we may have had. The hostess was accommodating in our seating requests. The menu has enough variety to satisfy everyone's appetite. Our appetizers and entrees were brought promptly. The food was good and prices reasonable. We will definitely return soon. While I think Applebee's food is fine, the service that I received at the Goldsboro Applebee's, when I'm in town for business, is just not up to standard. The last time I ordered food for carry-out, only 10 tables in the restaurant had diners, and my small, simple order was ready 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. First off I ordered a side salad and it never came. Second off I ordered a steak I asked for medium and they gave me what looked like rare. They were nice about it and took it back. Oh this is going to be a fun review! There were so many things going on that I might run out of characters! When I entered the building, I thought I was going to be seated by the hostess but guess what? She totally ignored me! I had to seat myself! So someone in my party waved me over. My party had been there for 30 minutes before my arrival (save the best for last, me!) so one would think that I would get my food last, right? Wrong! One of the members of my party had to wait 30 more minutes after I had got my food. I really hope he got his food for free. I will have to ask him when I see him again lol Anyways, when I got there I noticed that everyone had their jackets AND hats on. Do you want to know why that is? It's because it was like 40 degrees INSIDE the building! We asked for them to turn the AC on our side down several times but the manager didn't take heed, so here I am at Yelp to tell the story. So, after we near 'bout froze to death we received our food (Yay! Hercules! Hercules!) and my food was good but the bun was not toasted through. Our waitresses Kristen and Courtney were sweet and most of the things going on were out of their control. Kristen is an EXCELLENT waitress, but Courtney is not. Courtney was very sweet but I don't think she can handle big parties. I feel like she would be better suited with smaller parties for future references. Courtney apologized for all of our inconveniences BUT she came off as very unprofessional, it's how she said it. Oh I almost forgot, when I asked Courtney to bring me some hot wings she said, "You know that's going to be $4.99, right?" Of course I know! I ordered it! What in the world? The manager came by our table right after we ordered to ask if everything was ok. Well ordering went fine... The waitress was "sassy" and called one of our party "boy" when he politely asked for more ice in the warm tea that he was served. My chicken quesadilla was cold, greasy and tasted like fish. We had a horrible experience here tonight. It took an hour for our food to come. Applebee's food is not so great that you want to wait an hour for it. And that was just to get a couple of Caesar salads. It was longer before the entrees arrived. Both my steak and my wife's salmon were overcooked. I guess that's why they took so long. We also waited a good 15 minutes for dessert and yet several more minutes for coffee. I don't know if the fault was in our server or in the kitchen, but it was seems inexcusable. People who arrived after us got their food before we did. The waiter was apologetic and obsequious. I couldn't tell if he really felt bad for us or was just concerned about his tip. He said he would talk to the manager but I don't think he did. I thought maybe they would take something off the bill, at least a dessert, but no such luck. We will not be back. read more

My experience yesterday was awful. The restaurants air conditioner was down. We were not informed until we were seated. Then we were seated next to the window. The waiter was trying to be accommodating. I Made an inquiry was there complimentary drinks seeing there wasn't a sign posted outside of the establishment about the inconvenience. We were told no. This is the worst restaurant experience I have had in several years. The waitress staff may be ok. I sat at the bar during shift change for two consecutive nites. The off going bartenders, a different one for each night, really did not like their relief bartender. I soon found out why. The afternoon bartender constantly proclaimed herself to be an Evil Person and she proved it with her lack of customer service skills. She also spoke very rudely to the off going bartenders. If you really want poor service and want to be treated disrespectful please go to this Applebee's in Goldsboro NC. It has a convenient location walking distance from the Hampton Inn. If you are just passing through order a delivery pizza or Chinese, you will be happier. If you really want to go out, Please go to Logans Roadhouse. It is only half a mile away Hopefully you will be treated nicer there. Just Say No to Applebee's in Goldsboro NC. Ordered the New Orleans chicken n shrimp dish without mushrooms and onions. It was Mother's Day and needless to say we were looking to have a wonderful family get together. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the host with "how many?" No hi, welcome or Happy Mother's Day. After we said 5, the host scanned the restaurant for seating. I looked by the window and saw an empty booth and told the hostess we'll just take that one. She then said hesistantly that they could clean off a bigger table but I said no that's ok. She then said ok sarcastically and told the waitress table 30. After being seated we realised the table was too small. The hostess was right after all. I called our waitress and explained that we would like a bigger table and that the hostess was right. She said they would pull two tables together and have someone sweep the carpet. We waited. We waited some more. No drinks offered, no guidance. After about 10 minutes with no direction we decided to leave. I honestly will not come back after this experience. Customer service starts as soon as you walk in the door. What should have been a pleasant evening turned out to be a big disappointment. Employees need training on how to be more hospitable. Check on your customers regularly. Even if the customer is wrong there's no need for sarcasm. Very disappointed! read more

If I could leave no star I would. When we arrived at this location, the hostess was nowhere to be found. There was one lady in front of us and the restaurant was all but empty. Finally, the manager came over and seated us. The server didn't even introduce herself and was never around. She took our drink order and then disappeared. After about 10 minutes she came back with drinks. We then ordered our food and appetizer and waited again for about 20 minutes(not bad this time). My wife's water went empty and the waitress did not return to fill it until our food come out. When we got our check, I handed her my card without looking at it (my fault). When she returned with my card and the receipt, she had left the appetizer on the check, but we had ordered the 2 for $20 deal, so it should have been included with that. We sat there waiting for her to come back, but she never did, so we flagged down another server. The manager came out to handle the issue and told us that she could refund my card and then recharge it for the check without the appetizer on it or she could give us a gift card for the difference. We told her we did not want the gift card as we will never be dining there again. The entire time we were in the restaurant, the staff were all having conversations and hanging out like they were customers and not staff. The manager obviously was more worried about befriending her employees then managing them. She also talked to the table behind us telling them that the CEO will be there next week.
