We came in at 10:15PM on Monday, 9/1/25. I cannot remember the last time we ate at Applebee's... we had takeout from there about 6 months ago, but before that? It had been YEARS. It was late, a holiday and our options were limited. I was really happy with our experience! We sat at the bar and Casey D. took GREAT care of us! She was attentive and personable. It was pretty quiet that late on a weeknight. Several games were on, giving us lots of options of what we could watch. Our beers were COLD, almost ice cream headache cold and I really appreciate that. They also have late night specials - 1/2 most of their apps and a couple beers were $4 for talls. My Mister had the mild buffalo boneless wings and mozzarella sticks - BOTH 1/2 off! They were good and he was happy with his choices. I had the Asian Chicken Salad with fried chicken. It's my absolute favorite thing on their menu. And tonight reminded me why. I ordered extra dressing because I drank the first one. I honestly can't think of a worse time I've ever eaten out. Came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary and we were put in a waitlist only to hear two of the hostesses and a server shit talking the other employees while customers sat nearby. When we were seated, it took our server about five trips just to get our drinks let alone a proper order. I asked to switch my side of broccoli to green beans which was messed up. When I got my green beans, my boyfriend and I noticed we were charged for it despite asking to be a substitute. I asked my steak to be rare, and it was a dark red which was purely raw. My boyfriend got an entirely different cut of steak. It was thinner and weighed less, despite us ordering the same thing. Hey Applebee's in Grand Haven... what happened to your booth privacy walls? Those were so nice. Now you have us sitting back to back with people with 6" between me the guy behind me. It feels like you're eating with them. Last time we had little kids climbing around from the booth behind us and it was so distracting we just wanted to leave. You can hear every word people around you are saying and can't hear the people sitting with you. Terrible decision to remove those walls. We liked it how it was, came in every week. Applebee's in Grand Haven sucks, the one in Holland is actually pretty nice. My only complaint about the evening was how long it took our drinks to make it to the table. We watched our drinks sit at the bar while our server stood and talked in a corner with another employee. Two of us were tempted to just walk over and grab them ourselves. But as we were joking about it out appetizers arrived, which our server got us for free and saved us a little money (which we're always grateful for) So we waited another couple minutes for our drinks to arrive and everything from there was smooth sailing. I had the 8oz shrimp parmesan sirloin with broccoli and fries and they never disappoint. Lots of great food options, reasonable to cheap pricing. read more

My family took my daughter here for her birthday it was busy but it took over an hr to get our literally cold food which they attempted to fix but when I did my best to eat the food they "fixed" I immediately started vomiting. Both my pregnant wife and 5 yr old son also got sick shortly after leaving. You'd think poisoning someone you'd not charge them for food but not the case they simply took $20 off our bill. This isn't the 1st time there food was questionable and I'll never go to any applebee's because of this experience. It ruined our night. One of my favorite franchise restaurants around. Good food and prices. You can't beat half off apps after 9! Living in Spring Lake, we don't have a fair priced franchise restaurant. Thankfully this Bees is right over the bridge from the village. The one downside is if you don't drink beer, the price for a cocktail is quite high for the liquor-mixer ratios.(expected at a franchise) Also being a big captain and diet fan, the Pepsi rather than Coke is kind of disappointing lol. Today, I went to Applebee's with 6 of my friends after a long boat day. What a splendid afternoon! The servers were so kind and well organized even though they were clearly short staffed. I felt so bad for this nice youngins. I really enjoyed my boneless honey barbecue wings. The gwackamoli was very good and my dearest friend put it on his burger as well as his quesadillas. What's even so great about this place is that if you order a set of wings, you can do half one sauce and half the other! That way, if you're feeling two different sauces you can taste both in your meal! I hope everyone in the world goes to Applebee's because they deserve it. Stay happy folk! read more

Love the 'bees. This is a great location. The spinach salad with shrimp is always so fresh, and the bacon dressing is excellent. Wish they carried gluten free beers (not cider) and/or vodka. Busy location, but you really never have a long wait unless there's an event nearby. Kudos. read more

We had not been to Applebee's in a while so we decided to go to the Applebee's in Grandhaven. Appetizers, chicken wings were excellent. Our adult beverages were very good, a margarita and a passion blast beer. Our entrées were average , My wife had the oriental shrimp stir fry and she thought it was a quite spicy. I had the macaroni and cheese with chicken strips and I think the macaroni and cheese was very cheeseless. Was not impressed with their entrée. My friend and I came here after spending the day at the beach and we waited for our food for like 25 minutes, and once our appetizer came out there were two eyelashes on there that weren't ours because we were wearing mascara and you could tell that these eyelashes had no mascara on them, then my friends burger had a long hair on it as well. Worried about my favorite restaurant. Cold food, slow service and a confused waitress. Party of five, we had a steak overcooked. Ordered medium rare and got it served with no pink in the middle. Staff corrected this without trouble, the replacement steak was much much better. Chicken wings were drowning in sauce, and freezing cold on the inside. They took them to the back and microwaved them (and the celery as well). Chicken on an oriental chicken salad was also cold, but we declined getting that microwaved as well. A French onion soup was warm, but not hot. Basically only my food was done correct. On top of all of this, the food came out slowly (people seated after we ordered got food before be did). I would believe that this was atypical of this location, but as our last visit was likewise poor (but still better than this) I fear this location might be getting worse instead of improving. read more

I am from out of town and we came to Applebees in Grand Haven with our 10 and 7 year old. My eldest son ordered Buffalo wings. The waitress put in boneless. When a discussion started at our table about whether she understood boneless or bone-in i went to tell her bone-in but she couldn't be found and I left the message with the hostess. When the order came to the table my son took one bite and they were too hot for him to eat. Waitress told us nothing could be done and we ordered another plate unseasoned. They left the wings on the table. When we got the bill the boneless and 2 bone-in were on the bill. After pointing out we never received the boneless she had it removed but the 2 orders of wings remained on the bill. (I managed a restaurant for years in my earlier days; never would we have charged the customer for something a 10 year old could not eat!) times-are-a-changing. I will never go back to Applebees. Our food was alright and we were out of there much later than we got there. The table two tables away from us got all of their food for free because they waited over an hour and a half. That experience kinda scared us away. Second experience - a friend from college was visiting and we wanted to go for half priced apps like we did in our college town. We were seated and quickly realized we were an hour early for that deal. We didn't care much and ordered from the regular menu. Our waiter was AWESOME. So friendly and accommodating. My experience here was not great tonight! Today was my birthday and I figured we'd go out to eat with all of my children. We got seated and after we got our drinks we had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our food. The place wasn't even busy (we only had a 10 minute wait to get in the restaurant with 7 of us). On top of that, after the long wait, our food was cold when it got to us! The waiter was alright but we had to ask him for a booster 4 different times.
