It used to be that going to Applebee's in the winter was enjoyable because I knew it would be nice and warm even though it was cold outside. I had noticed during the last couple of months that that great warmth was missing. Tonight hit a new mark since it was 30 degrees outdoors and their air conditioning was blasting cold air anyway. The stated reason was that the thermostat was malfunctioning. Of course all the was needed is to simply shut off the circuit breaker and this would have stopped the chill down. On to the food - I had the Cajun Salmon. The Salmon was fine but the broccoli with it was way overcooked and was to the point of being mushy. This had happened the last time I had broccoli but thought that it was just a sometime goof up so I tried it again. I guess it's a steady problem. The mashed potato was ok but not exciting. All in all the meal was not worth suffering through being too cold even though I had two jackets on. read more

We were in a group of a bunch of people and all of us ordered drinks except the oldest person in our group (47 yrs old) tried to order a beer but because he only had a temporary license, they wouldn't serve him. Full beard and he couldn't get served but the rest of us, who were noticeably much younger, could order drinks around him. We were also told we couldn't order more than 3 drinks unless each of us ordered a full meal (we were all splitting apps) but yet some of us had 3 whiskeys and that was fine and others had 3 beers and were cut off. I made a phone order today, August 7 got the oriental wrap(should be continental doesn't taste oriental) Also made an order of buffalo wings. I asked for all flats, they said they cannot guarantee. Which is questionable at the least. I've worked in a kitchen and you can certainly guarantee something like that. They gave me all DRUMSTICKS. This would not be a big deal but I do not enjoy eating drumsticks. So this is a very big deal. Usually I wouldn't mind one or 234 drumsticks but all 10 wings is a little absurd especially after asking for flats. read more

Okay, I have to admit that I have those moodswings for chain food, especially after a long day and evening of work when my brain can't work anymore. My boss and I have lunch and late dinners often at the Hooksett Applebee's (located in front of K-Mart) to discuss project related issues over mostly fatty foods and drinks. The food here is conventional, but pretty tasty. The Tequila Lime Chicken rocks!! The lunch combos ($5.99-$6.99) are a great deal and after 9:00 PM (Mon-Thurs), all appetizers are half off, except the sampler and mini burgers, a convenient time to quit work for the night. The Dessert Shooters ($1.99) are just the right size to satisfy the sweet tooth after the meal. Oh, for those counting calories, they have a Weight Watchers Menu. The service here is consistent and friendly. Each Applebee's is different with a local theme and flair of decorations. For example, the Derry Applebee's (my other favorite location) is decorated with Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry HS scholastic sports. This Hooksett Applebee's has a special wall dedicated to Manchester's own "Adam Sandler." All of his movies and music really crack me up! The food here is definitely a lot better than what the "Lunchlady" serves up: sloppy joe, hoagies & grinders, sloppy joe, navy beans, sloppy joe. First of all, Applebees will NEVER be my first choice, but after this experience I may never visit another location ever again. Me and my partner came here after getting off of work late, with every other restaurant closed Applebees was our only choice. We arrived 45 minutes before closing (not ideal I know), but I made the point to tip 100% to makeup for the inconvenience. The bartender made it very clear to communicate we were not welcomed there. We literally took 3 minutes to order and placed all our drink orders ahead of time for the staff's convenience. Apparently, the staff (including the manager) were so perturbed by our late arrival they felt it was necessary to take turns staring directly at us to communicate their displeasure. After only 20 minutes my partner was so uncomfortable from their staring that we boxed up our food and left. In hindsight, going home would have been the better option. I would never recommend this restaurant to another soul. read more

Worst dining experience I can recall. The temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortable, it was freezing! The handful of customers present were all complaining about being cold. The wine selection was limited to four choices. Who advertises as a Bar with only four wine selections?!? I ordered the 'special' which buffalo wing wedge salad. The picture showed four boneless chicken tenders on a wedge salad. What came out was diced up dry chicken bites coated in what tasted like tabasco, drizzled with a soupy blue cheese dressing. Inedible!! I sent it back immediately and ordered a bowl of French onion soup (what could go wrong?). It consisted of a glob of cheese in canned beef stock and a slice of Wonder bread on the bottom. I feel sorry for the servers, our server mentioned the place was understaffed to the point the manager (who was clueless) was putting together the take out orders and didn't have time to address dine in customers who were few and far between. Reinforces my belief we should visit local restaurants and avoid chains!! read more

I decided to give this location a shot today and was disappointed. After I was seated, I waited a while before being asked for a drink order yet people that sat after me got taken care of. I ordered food to go. When the waiter brought it out to the car I asked if the tacos I ordered were made correct because I have a dairy allergy so o I took certain things off. He assured me they were made correct. Obviously when I got home they were not made right. I call the restaurant and the manager apologizes and says they will email me a gift card. I came to Applebee's tonight before our movie. We showed up at 5:15, I remember because we said we have exactly an hour and 15 minutes before it starts. Should have been enough time. Well, we got sat and we waited until 5:30. No one came over at all. We walked out, and came to the 99 right down the road. Got our orders taken immediately, so saying it was busy doesn't seem like a good reason. We told the lady on the way out and she was very nice, offered to let us speak to a manager but we did not have time as we still wanted to eat before the movie. The employees hanging out standing behind the bar chatting away didn't help, I was going to go up to them and ask for someone to take our order but my husband pointed out that we shouldn't have to. I understand being busy as I am a server myself and that since we were on a time crunch it might have been unfair, but when we saw the servers and managers standing around chatting we lost our patience. People were walking by and looking at us and just kept going. We won't be back. read more

I had lunch at this restaurant on 6/26. I misplaced my phone and suspected I left it in the restaurant. When I went back, the hostess introduced me to the store manager, Mr. Chris Mc Iver. Mr Mc Iver, could not have been more helpful He literally, moved the booth I sat in looking on the floor and all around. He went into the kitchen to checked the trash. He came out to my car and dialed my number to see if we could hear it, he reviewed the security tape and looked in the parking lot. True the restaurant was not very busy at 3PM, but that said Chris was so helpful and customer focused I had to share my experience. If the managers dedication to service is how he manages this restaurant, you cant help but expect a great experience at the restaurant. Thank you Mr. McIver you have a fan. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I am angry beyond belief. Went out with siblings and friends and when drinks were getting ordered I ordered the All American drink to which I was asked for my license. Obviously gave it to her and she said because it was an out of state license she needed to go into the back. No problem. Understandable, just a waitress being cautious. Not even 30 seconds later a VERY tall man came out to our table and told me that my license was a fake and proceeded to tell me that he would be taking it. I asked him if he had scanned it or used a UV light to which he responded that they would be calling the police if there was a problem. I repeated my question and said that I did not understand because if they had a scanner or a UV light then they would realize if it was a real ID. He then proceeded to stand up taller in some sort of way to intimidate me. I am 24!!!! Not even a fresh 21. 24!!! I also do not think that I look much younger than I am. I understand this Applebees is in New Hampshire and I have a Massachusetts license but it is only around 20 minutes from the Massachusetts border, my point being i'm sure they have seen thousands of Massachusetts licenses before. Plus I have been here and ordered alcoholic drinks more times than I can count. I had to awkwardly sit there throughout my meal- without a drink-while everyone else had drinks because enough of a scene was already caused by him telling me very loudly that they would call the police on me. I had to confront them after and received no apology or anything. I'm not sure if he was the manager or not because he would not tell me his name- when I asked for it, he ignored me and walked away. Overall, it was a terrible experience and clearly they have no idea what they are doing. It could have been one thing to air on the side of caution and inform me that they could not serve me liquor because they weren't familiar with the ID. But to accuse me of using a fake ID and then threatening to call the police on me was so absurd. My sisters house is not even 5 minutes down the road from here and we frequent here often and give them a lot of business throughout the week in person and on door dash. Safe to say that we all agreed we will never be stepping foot in this place again after how terribly we were treated. Honestly an insane experience to say the least. read more

The meal was good. Had a cowboy burger wife had a wrap of some type. When we sat down we over heard the table next to us complaining about an hour wait, so we ordered an appetizer, just in case it was a long wait. Our meal arrived before the appetizer, so we asked to canceled appetizer. No biggie really. Well, the manager came by graciously and apologized and offered to compensate for one meal and get me a refill on drink. Never got the refill drink but got the more expensive meal compensated. It seemed they were short staffed as tables took some time to clear and our waiter seemed to be new as he botched a couple of orders. The food was really good and we had one of the best hostess I have seen in a long time, she was slightly older than the usual 20 year old hostess. I believe her name was Kay and she was from Scotland. She made it a point to speak conversational style, asking questions and making kind comments. She even picked up a broom a few times when there were no customers waiting. Just a real pleasant person to have for the front of a house greater. As I walked out of the Applebee's, I mentioned to my wife that she was the highlight of the lunch. read more

This place gets too busy for what they can handle. They promote $1 margaritas and highly understaff as if they were not expecting to get business. It was not even slammed busy in here but they could not handle a small rush. The service is slow and the service is miserable except for the one bartender who is clearly carrying this team. The food is terrible. I've been to different Applebees before and I generally enjoy their food. This particular one is not up to par. Every time I go here, I'm waiting extra time before getting seated or getting my food because the staff is chatting with each other. One particular day, I ordered a burger that was way over cooked and my friend ordered haddock that had some hard pieces and bones in it. We told the waiter, who didn't seem to care. I go to the front desk and ask for a pen and then the Manager says I need to give the bill too the server. I tell him of our experience and he all of a sudden disappears with no response. Went here this weekend to celebrate. We decided to eat in the bar area and glad that we did. There were lots of kids in the other half of restaurant but you couldn't hear them in the bar area. The food was great and the service even better. We had Emily for our waitress and she is really good. I wish they wouldn't put so much ice in your drinks though cause I feel like a pig drinking so many drinks but its mostly ice. The food was hot and actually looked like the photo on the menu. I laughed about that and even took a picture of it to compare! After our meal we sat at the bar for a drink before we left. Lindsey the barmaid is hilarious! i'm glad that we stopped by here to celebrate. I go to this Applebee's every so often and I don't really have anything bad to say about it. The food is good, although a majority of it has some kind of meat, making it a bit less vegetarian friendly. The staff is nice as well. I have had service ranging from average to very good, but never any bad service. The food is good and for a decent price. I am personally a fan of their mashed potatoes. read more

Went there on 4-16-2016, We waited to be seated and again waited a good 10minutes to have our drink order taken. We ordered an App and when it was brought we had no silverware or plates to eat it with. We ask for both and only plates where brought and we needed to ask again for silverware. In the mean time the food was cold. We had to ask two different employees to get a manager. We finally got some hot food and also part of the bill was adjusted.
