Normally, I would give 5 stars. We have been going to Billy's for many years. We have never had a poor meal until today. I don't know if there was a new person in the kitchen or deliberate changes. My husband ordered a beer which was completely flat. I ordered a turkey club. It has always been excellent, but this time it was awful. The lettuce was completely wilted, there was almost no tomato, the toast was burned black on all edges, which tasted awful. Weirdly, the sandwich was thicker on one half than the other with turkey. My husband's sandwich had the same wilted lettuce, very sparce tomato, and the bread was partly burned. They ran out of wheat bread, and offered marbled rye. It was a disappointment all around. Billy's is getting two stars. One for Atmosphere & one for friendly staff. Food is just horrible! I think they have a bunch of teenagers cooking! it doesn't matter how you order your burgers, they are ALWAYS WELL DONE!! They never give me the correct dressing or condiments when they remember to give them to me. Do you like your Onion Soup with crunchy onions? This is the place to get it!! The to-go soup cups don't have lids that fit. I had my crunchy onion soup broth spilled all over my food with a puddle at the bottom of the bag!! These are ALL SEPERATE instances. I was appalled when the Manager Tony told me " maybe you should check all your food before you leave to see if it's correct, I'm not always able to check the food before it leaves the kitchen ". Yes Tony, I'm going to unwrap my whole to-go order everytime I come in, cut all the burgers to see if they are cooked right, bite into all the food to see if it's done right before I go! Then Tony offered to give me $2.00 off my next order! You should be fired for Poor Management! TV'S EVERYWHERE, A sports bar with a big menu and daily specials. Had the Hawaiian Burger, good flavor with tasty fries. She had a Thanksgiving wrap, loaded with turkey and some cranberry stuffing. 12 beers on tap, large bar area - all seats face a TV (or 2-3) , Acustics better than normal. This place was the Rolls Royce of Sportsbars prior to Covid. After Covid, they changed their hours, and often times, are now closed by 9, instead of 1am . It's almost impossible to watch a Celtics or Bruins game, as they're closing far before the game concludes. Tough to enjoy things, when you're thinking of your next stop to finish watching the game. Sports bar that appears to be a great venue. However service ruins that misconception. Thursday night football, and every patron is clearly watching the game (steeler and turns fans alike) . Staff wanted to leave in the second half, and ruined the experience. all of our beers mugs were removed , and we were given our checks . We had no idea what the outcome of the game was. I had to go home to watch the highlights. I never would have invested a penny into this place if I would have known I was going to be sent home during the 4th quarter , before the conclusion. I need to update my previous review since my friend and I have been here several times since the last posting. The previous reviewer (Heath M.) wrote a great review, hitting most of the points I was going to write. Billy's Sports Bar is the real deal which is plastered with lots of sports memorabilia and has lots of TVs! There are lots of bars & restaurants that call themselves "sports bars", BUT most bars in this area will only show Boston area sports and nationally televised sports and that's it. Why? Because most area bars carry Comcast and not DirectTV. Most people around here in Southern NH will root for Boston area teams and having Comcast is adequate. However, if you're a fan of an out of town sports team, then there is a good chance your favorite team will not be shown on TV locally. Billy's Sports Bar is one of the few bars in the area that has DirectTV with NFL Sunday Ticket and the NFL Network. There are other places which also carry DirectTV including Applebees (Derry) and Smokey Bones (Tyngsboro, MA). However, the food served at Billy's is WAY BETTER than the cr-p served at the area chain bars. We've stopped at Billy's to catch our favorite teams in action when our games/events were not shown locally. The food has been consistently good each time and the prices are very reasonable. The large Nachos Supreme is HUMONGOUS, enough for 4 big people! The Billy Burger Sliders and Jason K's Cajun Chicken Sandwich are also our favorites. They also have some good interesting food specials and drink specials. They had $7 Labatt's pichers last time we were here. The service here is good. The bartenders always check up on us and ask us if we need anymore drinks and refills. Billy's Sports Bar is the best option for us to catch our favorite (non New England) sports teams play and enjoy some good food and drinks in a cozy neighborhood sports bar atmosphere. SIDE STORY: Last December (2008), my place (south of Manchester) lost power during that nasty ice storm for only one day (I was lucky). Billy's Sports Bar had power and this is where I stopped for a tasty hot dinner with drinks. Went there and waited 30 minutes to be seated, at 2 on a Saturday. After 30 minutes, went to the hostess again and asked where we were on the list to be seated and ...WE WEREN'T EVEN ON THE LIST. Tried to explain this to the hostess and waitresses and they were so rude, unacommidating, and disrespectful. The hostess removed her mask to call me a dumbass as we left. It's like Cheers! Everyone knows your name. People are laughing and having fun. The staff are cracking jokes AND doing a great job makikg sure everyone hs what they need. No wonder this place is a staple for Manchester locals. The dozens of tv's are unique. There is no bad seat in the whole bar/restaurant. The food is timely and delicious. Definitely a local sports bar. During games, if you don't like it loud...don't go. Plenty of parking, the booth we sat in, there was four of us, was built for four 100 lbs girls. Kinda tight. Now, for the food. I had the chili and Buffalo wings. Chili is not offensive to anyone. It has good flavor, beans, hamburger...etc. nothing special, I prefer a bit more heat. The wings had the heat I was looking for. Very yummy. Also on the menu for us was the grilled chicken & cheese sub. Very delicious choice. The open faced roast beef sandwich was a bit cold. Several beers on tap was a plus. The wait staff was attentive and we never had to wait for a fresh drink or the bill, even with the Patriot's playing. Not sure if I'll be back. Thought we wold support local business but wow what terrible customer service. We ordered double dipped wings (which we get all the time) and when we got home they were regular wings. I called and asked if we could get double dipped wings delivered and I was put on hold. Some guy picked up and I explained to him the situation and he goes "ok what were you expecting" and I said double dipped wings and they are regular. He began to argue with me saying they were double dipped. He then asked me to bring my wings back to the restaurant so he can double dip them. What? I came in had a pepper burger came with no cheese and chips not fires for 14.00 something and no drink. My burger temperature was well and it came out well thanks. Burger had No season on it. Unfortunately Billy is clearly no relation to Bill or Bob, as these sandwiches are back to the cold, grey & tasteless roast beef of my West Coast youth. Boooooo! The nachos are ok for East Coast. Chicken soup is fine, a tad better than a good canned version. Extra star for the cozy ambiance (but you better be ready for wall-to-wall TVs). I can easily imagine slipping in here on a wintery night to catch a game and a beer. Skip the roast beef though. Lots of places might refer to themselves as "sports bars," but believe me when I say that Billy's is the real deal. There's sports memorabilia in every nook and cranny -- enough to put some sporting museums to shame. Moreover, there are TVs everywhere -- and I mean EVERYWHERE, even in the floor, all playing a myriad of different sporting events (many of the TVs are high-def too). If the Red Sox are losing, turn your head in the other direction and watch something else. If nobody is winning, Billy's extensive beer selection or generous pour can help ease the pain. The food goes a bit beyond basic bar and grill and it doesn't come off as cookie cutter like a chain might be. The burgers are juicy, the nachos are huge with generous piles of cheese and homemade chili on top and they often have some pretty creative soups on special. They also have a great selection of comfort foods to brighten your mood on a cold winter's night. I have yet to order anything that hasn't come out hot and fresh. The service is pretty good -- at Billy's you don't just get one server, everyone takes care of you so if you need something, just call to any of the servers walking by. You would think this would get confusing, but it actually works out really well. The staff is really friendly and they love to joke around with the customers. All and all, Billy's is one of Manchester's better options when you want good honest food and you don't want to break the bank. read more

Thank you, Billy! After coming off the airplane with the Gator basketball game at halftime, I scrambled to find a place that could show the game. Billy personally assured me we could get the game on, and sitting down at a fairly full bar, he put put my game on not 1, but FIVE different televisions! He came over and introduced himself, and showed me why his bar has such great ratings! When there was a glitch in the game, he went to his computer to research the etiology - game cancelled at half due to wet court :( During our brief visit, we tasted the cheese sticks and were not disappointed. The pineapple soaked vodka is definitely a must! Billy has tons of TVs and a heart of gold ... Definitely a local place! I really didn't enjoy stopping for a few drinks. The woman tending the bar was pretty rude, but you could tell she didn't care what you thought. I gave her a passport card as a form of ID and all hell broke loose. She tried scanning it, looking it up in a book, then she took it into the kitchen and proceeded to talk to her manager about it. This card gets me in and out of the country, but won't get me a beer at Billy's? Hmm... Anyway, that's not why I didn't like it. They were probably busted for underage drinking a few times. I love Billy's! Perfect place to go on game night (or any night for that matter!) as it has big TV's hanging from every angle possible. Cool TV in the floor when you walk in too. Get there early on game night. Food is great, and reasonable priced. Honey BBQ chicken tenders and wings are excellent! Hubby and his buddies can polish off a huge plate of wings...you can get up to a plate of 40! Try their Stoli Doli...its excellent...and will sneak up on you in no time since it tastes like juice. This review applies to breakfast only, I have gotten to go food for lunch midweek and had a better experience. Wife and I today went to Billy's for breakfast. We didn't know they offered breakfast, but drove by last Sunday morning and saw a packed parking lot and were looking forward to this. Walking in from a beautiful sunny Fall morning into a dark, divey bar really set a bad tone, as did the chipped mugs of coffee eventually presented to us. Our waitress was a younger woman with glasses. I've worked in the industry before, I get it, but she was super inattentive between her frequent and long duration trips to the kitchen. The food was average at best and not worth the higher price point it was sold at. The same money will get you much better at Julien's, Belmont Hall or Chez Vachon. My hashbrowns weren't as crispy as I would have preferred, but was near impossible to remedy. Eventually, we did get a coffee refill from a nice older woman with short hair that saved this review from a one star rating. Horrible and stupid servers. Can you imagine ordering a baked potato and not getting butter. Asking for butter, waiting 10 minutes and then having the waitress ask you "did you want me to get you butter?" after I explained I had been waiting 10 minutes for butter. When I asked to see the manager, she stood there and looked at me dumbfounded and then said "did you want me to get the manager?" OK, I got a little hot and told her she was f***ing stupid at that point and she went off to get the manager (who claimed he was Billy). He told me we were not welcome anymore because I swore at the waitress and she was crying. Really - you work in a dive bar grow a pair! He even made us pay for food I didn't eat and said he'd call the cops if I didn't. Is a chicken tender plate a plate if you can't eat the potato because they are too stupid to provide condiments and then the food is cold? I have never been so appalled by bad customer service as I was tonight. Not only did I pay for plate I couldn't eat but the shrimp Caesar roll-up my husband order had two 1/2 piece of shrimp - what a rip off. This is the best place in town to catch an out of market NFL game (ie: not the Pats). They have TVs literally everywhere you look (including in the bath room). The food is above average with a good menu. The twice dipped buffalo wings and the steak and cheese are great plus they do a nice clam chowder. Plenty of beer on tap with game day specials (that is for any Boston sports team so pretty much there are specials every day). The location leaves a little to be desired as it is kind of off the beaten path but they do have plenty of parking and there is a deceptive amont of room for a place that seems realatively small. read more
