Applebee's is usually one of our favorite quick casual restaurants of choice But NOT this one! This restaurant was so filthy with carpet coming up, booths beyond disrepair & moldy looking ceiling tiles That we almost walked out before even ordering. A patron was complaining to the manager & the manager was making excuses for her staff then manager Proceeded to talk to the front staff in Front of customers instead of going to the office or a quieter place for training? Music was like we were in a club too-very loud and not appropriate for dining. Menus were sticky & Dirty. Bathroom urinal overflowed on husband. This location should be shut down for remodeling & training & top to bottom cleaning at the very least. read more

Went to this location yesterday evening and I received the worst service ever. It seems like the whole wait staff was confused and our waiter especially looked lost. Asked for plates for an appetizer and was given a blank stare, I asked for silverware and was given plastic utensils while other customers received actual silverware. Idk where to even begin.. I came in here for a dining experience with my family (I have an 8 year old son btw) as soon as I walk through the door all we can hear is the hostess talking vulgar to a red headed girl. When we came in the restaurant she seemed to look irritated that she actually had to do her job and seat us. The floors and the booths were filthy! It took about 45 minutes for a food to come out, and our server hardly ever came back to refill our drinks. The servers were all standing around in a circle while we were waiting for refills.. My husband and I were in that area for work and were looking around for a place to eat lunch so we decided to try the Applebee's there. It was right at 11 o'clock, which was when the sign said they would open, however it was about 10 minutes later when they actually opened. There were about three parties waiting to come in, one party was obviously friends with the server as she immediately went to them and engaged in a long conversation while ignoring everyone else. When she finally got to us, we ordered sodas and food; She took quite a long time to bring the sodas despite not being that busy. I ordered the wonton tacos, which I've had other locations and had been excellent so I was craving them. The ones there ended up being very stale. My husband had macaroni and chicken tenders, which he said was OK but nothing special. Definitely a disappointing experience there and if we ever need to eat in that area again, we know there are plenty of other options. read more

As far as Applebee's goes, this is one of the best I have visited. I tried them for the first time the other day and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. We had the 2 for $20 which gave us an appetizer (the Spinach Artichoke Cheese Dip and Chips) and two entrées. My husband and I both had the Fiesta Lime Chicken since the other options did not look as appealing. It was good. My only complaint about the food was that the chips from the appetizer were hard and seemed a bit stale. The meals were slightly smaller than most places, but that left us a bit of room for dessert. We had the Apple Chimicheesecake and it was very nice. We also had two drinks, I had the Long Island Iced Tea which was perfect! My husband had Fireball Whisky Lemonade and it was also tasty. I have been avoiding this place for the two years in which I have lived nearby, but I'm glad I tried it. I see a lot of reviews showed that the service was bad, but thankfully when I went, we had a good waitress who was attentive at just the right times. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. My husband and I went last Wednesday to the location 5911 E Sam Houston Pkwy N. First of all service wasn't great to begin with. We sat in the bar area "Dallas" was our waiter. He was so slow and more concerned with sitting with his friends at another table instead of seeing if we were ok with our drinks/ food. When he did finally take our order, he went back to sit and chat with his friends. After waiting awhile we decided to place an order to go for our son. But since he didn't bother to check back with us, my husband went to the bar itself to place the order. When he came back to sit down, he scooted in to the booth and and as he was adjusting himself back into the seat the entire table leaned into him, spilling our drinks all over him! The table leg underneath was unbalanced and not suitable for holding anything. It was totally off balance and we had no idea until it was too late. It was embarrassing not to mention the mess it made all over my husbands clothes! "Dallas" eventually made his way over to see what happened and so did the manager and another server to clean up. They looked annoyed that they had to clean up the mess. The other server said he was aware that sometimes this happened to this particular table but they try to keep an eye on it. They shouldn't have let us sit there obviously! The MANAGER SHANNON SIMEON was extremely rude and never even offered an apology. She acted as though it was our fault! The lack of customer service and inadequate management is ridiculous. Never again will we return there. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! Extremely Rude and unpleasant people work there. This place is a hit or miss... depends on who is cooking. We ordered Applebee's a lot and the same dish can be so good one day and bland, lacking flavor the next. No consistency! The last 6 orders did not have everything. Mainly missing my kids drinks, ketchup, ranch.... but mostly drinks! Over and over again my Door Dash order doesn't have everything in it. Stopped here as an impulse thing. Overall, I'm disappointed. I had boneless buffalo wings, they were actually pretty good, but not as good as Chili's. I also has cheeseburger egg rolls, they were tasteless and greasy, and I had the Philly cheese steak with house chips. Sandwich was tasteless and greasy, and even the jalapenos in there were tasteless! House chips were soggy and tasted stale, at least what I could taste through the overwhelming amount of salt they used. If you like cigarettes or eating in room full of smoke from cigarettes then I guess it's for you but I don't smoke and the smell upon entering was overwhelming. The bar area and dining area are way to close to eachother in my opinion to allow smoking! The carpet was filthy and probably contributes to the overwhelming smell of cigarettes it should be tore out and put hard flooring in my opinion . Filthy windows with dead flies on the window sills.
