Hi I have only had the 2 half slabs of there barbecue ribs, and they are great, in fact there probably the second best in Las Cruces, be sure to get them with no sauce, put there sauce on as you eat them, really good, we have them thru door dash because they are fast. The best place to get barbecue for us is the airport outside of Las Cruces, it's about a ten minute drive, be sure to get some jalapeño hot beans, and there corn in a pint cup, you can thank me later, 5 star's all the way, be sure to call ahead of time to make sure they have the food you want, and they will hold it for you !!! read more

On Thursday, 3/13, we stopped in after being on the road all day. The service was good. The food was good, but my Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich was scalding hot. When I initially bit into it, the juices from the sandwich squirted out and burnt a part of my face. Even after letting it sit and then cutting up the sandwich, it remained too hot to eat. I know this is odd to report, but I'd be careful about ordering their fried food. Something is up with the fryer since the food never cooled off enough to enjoy. Went to eat Saturday the 9th of August. Ordered the 2 for 25. I had the half ribs, and my wife had the chicken Parmesan. The ribs were very dry and the chicken Parmesan was tasteless. The only thing that was good was the artichoke and chips. We frequent that restaurant very often and were very disappointed. The waitresses did not bother to bring the manager to voice our opinion. We've been patrons of this Applebees for over 20 years. We find ourselves visiting less and less as time goes simply because of the service has declined. I know businesses are struggling to find good employees all over the country. But it's hard to continue to go to places like this when the servers are so bad. We used to loved Applebees & even met my wife at this location which why we go so often. But lately we've been going elsewhere simply based on the service being so bad. Hopefully upper management steps in & retools the staff. We waited 30 minutes and never once saw our server. We just got up and left. We don't think anyone even noticed we did. read more

Came in on Mother's Day 2022 when several of the Applebee's staff called out sick for various reasons. Regardless... The staff that came to work, were working hard to ensure all patrons enjoyed their holiday celebration. Thank you, thank you to the bartender--apologies for not catching your name--and to all the managers, and server staff. Other Applebee's patrons please be kind, to those that have to take time away from their families to work. The steak that i ordered was pretty good, but the 4 cheese mac & cheese that my bf ordered was not good. The chicken was overcooked, could barely be cut with a knife. The alfredo sauce was tasteless as if it was just cheese and water. Our server (Sav) was amazing and attentive. The restaurant was a little messy. My chair was sticky and had a big rip in it. Bad server from the start, taking our order to talking to other people. Waited almost 45 minutes to get our meal, asked to have it boxed cause we lost to much time. Restaurant manager looked at us funny when we told him to just make it to go. Like he was in a hurry to drop off plates to us. Never got refills or offered any. Still got charged full price. My husband and I ate dinner at this Applebees because it was close to our Hampton Inn hotel in Las Cruces. Our waitress and her service were top notch. She was very thorough and attentive. She was busy handling a lot of tables but that was no problem for her. We did the 2 for $25 dinner. We had a shared spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, the chicken tenders platter and an oriental chicken salad. Dip was good. Chicken salad was good. My chicken tenders were a little over cooked, and not very tender. Check out was fast and easy. read more

I went to the bar to sit down for lunch. No bartender had to wait, what seemed like 10 minutes. Then the bartender wasn't even accommodating I had to ask for everything. I mean, it's just another Applebee's, but it was pretty dirty. They need new carpets here and the tables need a good cleaning around all the endives, not just the top. I hadn't seen an Applebees in a while. Used to think service and food were great. Tell me why do waitress get pissy when you're not seated in "their" assigned location. Should they take it out on the customer or management? This waitress was hard to find. Nobody came around to check on us. Fill water. She had a problem with a substitution I had. She didn't mention you could use the bill receipt to scan the code she just set it upside down on table. And I had to have my card ready because you wouldn't see her again. The other table recognized that too. The mashed potatoes were cold and the blackened salmon was dry. The coleslaw was questionable. The same basket ball game was on all the monitors. I don't come here for steaks or Mexican food. I come here for a beer and the 2 item build your own app deal. For about $20 after work you can have a brew with a friend and grab a bite before you go someplace else for dinner or head home to fix something. $10 for some mozzarella sticks with really good marinara and some of their chicken wonton tacos - which are remarkably good - make for a nice little bite with a good beer. Worst Applebee's I've ever been to. We were a group of three adults and three children, two are toddlers. For some reason, it took two people to bring us menus and silverware. Then both left and one came back later to take our order. My granddaughter and I ordered the garlic sirloin skillet, medium rare, and then we waited for the food for 45 minutes. When it finally came, there were four servers carrying plates for one table and they kept setting the hot dishes in front of my 18 month old grandson before one of us would grab it so he wouldn't hurt himself. Thankfully, they were smart enough to not do the same with the sizzling skillets although one of them passed my granddaughter's burning hot, sizzling skillet directly over her head to place it in front of her. That could have been disastrous. Then, we ate. The steaks were overcooked although the flavor was good, the broccoli was actually amazing, but the mashed potatoes were actually rancid and tasted and smelled like fish. I'm guessing rancid garlic oil? Neither of us could eat it. We didn't bother mentioning anything because we didn't want a Three Stooges repeat. Also, the section they sat us in smelled like poo. Actual poo. The best part of the whole experience was the rainbow we got to see through the window. It was terrible and we'll go to the other Applebee's from now on. read more

Ya just can't go wrong w Applebee's. While traveling thru and staying at the Hampton Inn down the street....this Applebee's hit the spot. Wanted a sit down dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the bourbon street grilled chicken and shrimp. It came out sizzling HOT and yummy. I also took advantage of their drink special, margarita in a mug for $2 bucks. Can't beat it. After driving all day and then finding my that my previous go-to restaurant in Las Cruces has closed (sad face!), I thought I was going to eat my arm, and pulled into Applebee's because it was the only non-fast-food place open near my hotel. I normally avoid chains such as this like the plague, and was reminded why tonight. I can't believe people eat this food. Blech! Nothing, absolutely nothing, on that menu looked appetizing. My arm was looking better and better. As I "ate" a glass of awful, overpriced wine (what kind self-respecting restaurant has multiple varieties of white Zinfandel on their drink menu, btw?! Thankfully they have a few reds...), I figured chicken quesadillas and a side salad couldn't be mangled *too* badly. Wrong. The chicken was dry, there was hardly any cheese (isn't that the defining characteristic of a quesadilla?), and the salsa was literally right out of a jar. And my salad? Some lettuce, shredded cheese, and about a 1/2 can of Bacos bacon bits. All I have to say is I'm glad there's a McDonald's drive thru next door. Fries. Get the fries. The two stars? If you are going to this location, there is an 90% chance that you are dying from hunger after driving for hours through the ass-end of nowhere. We arrived here after we decided it was the only non-fast food restaurant open at 8:30pm in this town. right away and were told "Adam" would be our waiter. He took our drink order and asked if we were ready to order seconds after we slid into our seats. We said we needed another minute and then proceeded to wait over 15 minutes while we watched Adam carry out other people's food, do several trips to the table behind us, and shamelessly flirt with the 21 year old hostess, all while never once glancing over at our closed menus, piercing stares and hand waving. I even got the attention of an old man at the bar who noticed that Adam was not as helpful as he could be. So long story short, we don't know how the food is at Applebee's in Las Cruces. We ended up at the McDonalds drive thru next door. But I'm guessing that since it's corporate food, you know what you're getting. There were a lot of folks in there who look like they "eat well" so I'm sure you're in good hands so long as you're ordering from one of the non-dopey staff. read more
