Applebee's is a restaurant that I normally like in other cities, but the one here in Lexington is pretty disappointing. The food is the same as any other Applebee's of course, but the disappointment comes in with the quality of service. The waiters and waitresses are consistently inattentive and some are borderline rude. I try to give a restaurant a few tries before I make a judgement on them since anyone can have an off night, but the service at this restaurant is just not up to par. The last time I went there the waitress brought the check with the meal, who does that? I think the problem is the lack of competition in the area doesn't motivate the management to stress good customer service. read more

Mixed review. Came here two days in a row. Service excellent both days. Food better first day. Wonton stir fry shrimp very good. Appetizer of chicken wonton taco was over the top amazing. 2nd night got wonton taco appetizer again. They were good but not as flavorful as before. Bourbon street chicken and shrimp served steaming hot. Looked good but was dry and had no flavor. Server brought me some dumpling sauce which helped a lot. Must have forgot the bourbon street sauce when preparing entree. I'll go back to the stir fry next time. read more

The crack addict staff (All of them) was all rude. I called the order in to get in and out fast but ended up being there 30+ minutes waiting on my total. (The food was ready but cold by the time I paid). The manager didn't care about anything so I assume the cooks didn't either. We had a really nice server. I think her name was Nevada. Our food however was not. My husband and I got the 2 for $20 deal. He ordered the riblets with fries and I got the three cheese chicken penne. My husband's riblets were rubbery and had bones all through them. He had a plate piled up with bones he had to pick out. The grilled chicken in my pasta crunched when I bit into it. It tasted like gross old frozen chicken strips. The cheese on the pasta was watery. I don't know what the deal is with Applebee's, but every one we go to is terrible. read more

Let me start off by saying that for the most part, I like Applebee's, just not this one. One time the food will be good, the next time you go and order the same thing, it's hard to tell it's the same thing. The service is usually pretty bad, even when they aren't very busy. There have been times a couple of years ago that their sanitation grade had dropped to a B. Mostly, if I want to go to Applebee's, I go to Chili's in Winston-Salem instead. read more

After reading the reviews on yelp we were worried about eating here! The reviews were so wrong!! The service was the best. Our server Faith did an amazing job taking care of us. We ordered the the cheeseburger egg rolls they were so good we ordered more. The food was great. We had a group of 5 and didn't have to wait to be seated on a Saturday night so that was awesome as well! read more

My wife and I ordered steaks off the 2 for 25 menu and were very unhappy. Both steaks were tough and overcooked. We complained to the waitress who told us that we wouldn't be charged for one of them. When I got home and looked at the receipt they had done no such thing. The server is new but that isn't the problem. The food came out subpar and took just shy of an hour from time seated to get food. The order was suppose to be a side salad, Napa chicken and portabello mushroom entree, and a bacon burger. There was absolutely no flavor, even the bacon was flavorless. My wife had the chicken that was bland and over cooked. It came with an onion and pepper medley that was undercooked. They didn't even check to see if there was onion skin in it. She got the sweet potato fries and luckily they were cooked right. The burger came out with 2 slices of bacon that were so small even broke up wouldn't cover half the burger. The burger was well done instead of medium like it was asked for. Didn't send it back because based off the look of the staff aside from the waitress and hostess, I didn't trust that it would come back safe. The salad was good till I bit some bad pieces of lettuce. I did make the manager aware of the situation but was done and decided to go get food elsewhere. read more

I love Applebee's inviorment , the staff is great, but everytime I go the portions just keep getting smaller. The taste is overall good, but you just want more of it. If your really hungry you best order an appetizer because the wait is long for your food which I don't mind if your satisfied with what you get. For these prices I would like to have a full stomach or even be able to take a Togo box. I'm thinking they do this so you will order a 6$ dessert. I ordered a mix vegetable rice dish one time, when my plate was brought to the table I had about a cup of rice, and about four pieces of three different vegtables, its bad when you can count it out. Have always loved this Applebee's until my last visit. This store was out of absolutely everything. We wanted to order the strawberry lemonade drink with the fresh strawberries and they were out. They were also out of blueberries (for another drink), garlic butter that they put on the bourbon chicken, to-go cups, and of all things FRIES. The waitress claimed another worker was headed to a different location to bring back fries and it would be an hour if we wanted some. The food was also the worst I have had at an Applebee's before. The bourbon street chicken and shrimp was very dry and completely flavorless. My entree was almost cold where as my mother's was still sizzling on the plate, and we ordered the exact same thing. The service was fine, but the overall experience was terrible including the fact that we had to swat at flies our whole meal. Will not be giving this location another visit. read more

I ordered the Asian Chicken salad and it was not good. The Chicken tasted like something heated up from a toaster oven. This place has a bad smell when you walk in the door. It smells like old dirty carpet. My stomach was turned before we ever got the food. I am sorry we didn't just leave when the smell hit my nose. So, we won't be going back. read more

Customer service was horrible. We were waiting almost 40 minutes to receive our meals and there was not many customers. My son ordered a steak and it was completely burnt so we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for him to get another meal. Horrible experience overall. read more

Let me start off by saying that our experience at Applebee's was extremely unpleasant, and we will not be back. If I could give it 0 stars I would. We were trying to have a nice Father's Day dinner, but instead, we got awful service. When we first walked in, there were few customers seated and many employees walking around with nothing to do. There were at least five employees in the back staring at us, not knowing what to do. Two employees walked in the restaurant behind us and did not even bother to say anything. When at last we thought we would be seated, a guy walks up and says, "I'm sorry, someone will be here to seat you," because apparently he doesn't know what he is doing and he can't seat us himself. Finally, another guy walks up and seats us. Under our table, there is an entire salad on the floor, and that kiosk thing that you pay from on the table hadn't been cleaned in years. For what seemed like an eternity, we sat there at our booth without being served at all. After at least 10 minutes a waitress comes to our table to ask us what we want to drink. She walks off and we sit there for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, another chick walks passed us, points at us, and says "Y'all have already been greeted." As if our horrible experience wasn't enough, now we weren't worthy enough to have two greetings. The least you could do is say "Welcome to Applebee's, your drinks will be here in a minute," but apparently that's too much to ask. Our drinks finally arrived and the lady took our order. When she asked my dad what he wanted for his sides, he asked for fries and a baked potato. She told him that they didn't have baked potatoes, but they did have garlic mash. He told her that he just wanted double fries. It took an additional 30 minutes for our food to come back to us. When they finally brought it to us, they gave my dad garlic mash. When he told the lady that that was not what he had ordered, she said, "I thought you said you wanted garlic mash." No, he told her that he wanted fries about 3 times, at no point in their conversation did he even suggest that he wanted garlic mash. She went to get him some fries and it took less than 30 seconds for her to get them. My guess is that she probably found a plate of fries on another table that hadn't been cleaned yet and gave them to him because they were cold. Furthermore, I ordered a 6-ounce sirloin and he ordered an 8-ounce sirloin. When we compared our steaks, there was absolutely NO difference in the sizes, but yet they charged us full price. The food was decent, other than the fries were cold and the steaks were a bit dry. When we left, my dad informed the guy at the door about our nasty table, and he still didn't know what to do. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have a pleasant evening. The best part of our visit was leaving!! Applebees needs to get some training from the Chick-fil-a next door where it's their pleasure to serve you!! read more

The service was absolutely terrible! My girlfriend ordered the raspberry lemonade and when she got a refill, they brought out a mango lemonade, which my girlfriend is allergic to mangoes. So her drinking a mango concentrate was obviously not good. She started feeling bad, and they brought out our food. The burgers were terrible, the lettuce was brown, and the butt of the tomato on the burger. She started to feel even worse, so I went to get the staff (which I had to track down), and while I was gone the waitress (who didn't seem to care that she served my girlfriend the wrong drink and she was becoming progressively more sick) asked her "so when do you want to grab the check". I mean how rude are you going to be. All she cared about is getting the tip. Obviously I was trying to get her out of there, so the manager came and compensated us, which was well deserved. My wife and I visited Applebees Lexington today, hmm where to begin, the server was great but when we got our food the potatoes were rock hard and black and they were only boiled we complained and they changed the potatoes, ok that was all we expected really and the manager apologised, BUT why can't they do something about the amount of flies that buzz around your meal ALL the time they were even mating on the windowsill! If they're not on your food they're on your drink and the straw. It's only Applebees where you get a wildlife show whilst you try to eat even fast food restaurants don't have fly shows. I'm sorry but we won't be going back or recommending it to anyone unless the fly problem stops. read more
