This Applebees is lazy-person-walking-distance from a Tesla Supercharger, so it's awesome. Any time I'm passing through Lima, I stop at that charger, and there are lots of food options, and Applebees is one of them. People like to give Applebees a hard time because they don't make it fresh in the restaurant or something like that. Like they just reheat stuff they get from corporate. I don't care. It's Applebees. I didn't come here because I thought it was gourmet food - I came here because I know what an Applebees is like and I can just chill out while I charge and feed the family. They've got chicken fingers and asian chicken salads and burgers and beer and stuff like that. American food. At your Neighborhood Applebees. Exactly what you expect if you've EVER been to an Applebees in your life. The music is good. 90s-to-modern stuff that's a little grunge, which is where Applebees knows they are. This review is long overdue, but it popped up on places I should review so why not?! I was visiting Lima with some coworkers for a conference a couple months ago and this Applebee's was in the same parking lot as our hotel so we decided to stop in for a later night dinner. It wasn't that busy in here but still a few people in the bar area. My coworkers will say I was being difficult, which I totally was. I wanted to sit at a high top in the bar area and the only available table wasn't cleared off. So I asked the hostess to clear it off. Again, lots of open tables but I was being a little bit of a pain in the ass, but the staff was sooo nice about it (my coworkers of course not so much to me haha). She was nice enough to clean it off, which was great. We ordered some appetizers and drinks for a nightcap. It was alright! Our waitress did a good job on checking on us, too. My family and I was trying to figure out what to eat and my sister suggested Apple Bees. This was my first time eating Apple Bees in a very long time and my sister said they have a new menu. We placed to-go orders a little after 9pm. We both ended up ordering the Louisiana chicken/shrimp and substituted our potatoes for broccoli; BIL ordered the queso burger. Now the pics on the website showed me something different than what we received. The food wasn't nasty but the presentation was awful. We called and placed a to-go order, and they told us 20-25 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes later and waited for 30 minutes before just leaving without our food. The hostess knew we were there, and what we were waiting on, and seated 4-5 other couples without checking in the food again. Another couple even told her we were there before them and she dismissed us. Every other staff member ignored us and refused to make eye contact as well. I've given this location many chances only to be let down many times. It's considered the lesser of the two Applebee's in the Lima area. It always seems dirty (floors sticky, the table has weird stuff on it, etc.) and the staff is usually not great about being attentive and on top of things. The food is okay but most of the time the fries are old or cold or both. Food is just meh and you'd be better off going elsewhere. If you want fine dining or an amazing steakhouse, this isn't it. What this is, is bar and grill quality food in a nicer than a typical bar and grill atmosphere. Food is fine, with a variety of menu options, and served nicely. Wine and other beverage options were good, too. The dining area is clean and well kept, and the staff is friendly and efficient. This is by far the worst restaurant and service I have ever experienced. To start, the waitress did not use a note pad and had to triple check with everyone on their drink intake. When ordering my food the waitress was on the phone with some guy named David during the order and left him on the phone. While waiting for my food she rarely checked in on our drinks. She finally brought my appetizer, my onion rings were abnormally crunchy. My friends food came out first and his was good. We waited at least 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come out. Finally, the rest of the food came out, at least I thought. All of the food but mine. My friend and I ordered the same thing but his looked like was ready for 20 minutes before it was brought out. Mine came a couple minutes later and it was completely different. To start, his had came with a bread stick and bacon bits on the top. For some weird reason, mine came with no breadstick and fucking parsley. The most important part, my Mac and cheese was fucking drenched with water and Alfredo sauce. It looked like a fire hydrant when off in my pasta. I have never been so fucking angry. This waitress didn't come back for at least another 10 minutes to check in on me so I took this time to reflect over this fucking pool of soup. I called her over and asked her why the 2 Mac and cheese's were different. She told me she had no idea. I asked why his was super glued together and why mine was more soaked than a fucking porn set. She had no idea. This is absolutely ridiculous. My mind cannot comprehend how fucking miserable this place is. I wouldn't wish this disgusting ass restaurant on my worst enemy. My family and I came to this Applebees about a month ago because we came to Lima to hear the Lima Symphony Orchestra. This was not our first choice for a place to eat nor our second. Originally we were going to eat at an Italian restaurant we wanted to try, but when we got there... 45 minute wait. So we went next to Texas Roadhouse... 1 hour and 15 min wait. We finally ended up at Applebees which had no wait time. We were quickly sat. The place... wasn't the cleanest. The waitress came and asked us our drink order... didn't have two of the drinks I asked her. When i finally asked for some apple cider and she said they didn't have that, i exclaimed... you don't even have Angry Orchard or something equivalent either? She responded oh Angry Orchard is a cider? Yes, we have that. I was tempted to face palm. We ordered our food and started with the spinach artichoke dip and some wonton tacos. Those were really good. The absolute worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. The amount of errors that occurred are completely unacceptable. I'll start off with the service, the server never wrote down a single thing and went completely off memorizing our order. She had to come back to the table 3 different times to confirm our order. Some people in our group also had allergies which made it much more risky. The waitress was also on the phone the entire time that she came to our table with her boyfriend. She literally was on the phone and set her phone on the table with her phone on speaker to talk to him while she was taking our order. We also didn't get any of our food for at least an hour and 45. Now let's go to the scenery. The tables were dirty as hell and the bathroom was atrocious. Now let's go onto the most important part. THE FOOD. I ordered a half rack of ribs and fettuccine Alfredo with crispy chicken. The Alfredo was actually pretty good, HOWEVER, the chicken was basically still moving due to how RAW it was. I genually think I have food poisoning after that meal. The ribs on the menu were labeled "fall off the bone" but when it came out IT LOOKED LIKE IF SOMEONE SUPERGLUED THE BONE TO THE MEAT! Did I mention it was also basically not cooked AT ALL! 2 of my friends got the 4 cheese Mac and cheese, however, there orders looked the complete opposite. One of the orders came with a breadstick that was half eaten, and the other one had no breadstick at all. One of the orders Mac and cheese was completely overcooked while the other one was swimming in the Atlantic Ocean due to how wet and disgusting it was. Slow, Slow, Slow. Dirty & RUDE. I'm traveling and I was staying at a Hampton Inn which is a Hilton property. The desk clerk told me about the 10% discount they give to Hilton customers. When I gave Applebee's my hotel key card they took it and lost it. The server was rude from start to finish. The food service was Slow and the place is filthy. I've been to this location several times, as there is a Tesla Supercharger just behind it. We usually only get a soda and the avocado and chips, as that's all we trust at this place. However, last night we ordered a side salad without bacon, and a bowl of Southwest Steak and Black Bean Soup (see pictures). To start with, the host was very nice. He put us in a booth, and brought us water. The server did not arrive, so after 10 minutes, we ordered via the little iPad like device on the table. After 15 minutes, the host came by to explain that our server was very busy. We told him it was no problem, as we had ordered using the table device. We asked that he make sure that bacon was not on the salad. After a while, the salad and soup showed up. Of course, the salad had bacon on it. My wife just picked it off the salad. The soup did not look anything like the picture, including it was in a very small cup, and I could only find one piece of "steak" and three black beans at the bottom. I asked the host, who said "oh, they gave you the tortilla soup". (see picture) He was very nice, and took it back to the kitchen. After several minutes, a bowl of the same stuff showed up. Our server finally showed up to see if we wanted to order anything else. I showed her the picture of the Southwest Steak and Black Bean Soup, stating that it looks nothing like the picture. She said the same thing, that it was the chicken tortilla soup, without the chicken or tortillas. I then asked for the manager. When I asked the manager the same thing, she said that it was, indeed, the Southwest Steak and Black Bean Soup, and that it does not look like the picture. She said she prepared it herself. It was obvious to me that she put one piece of steak and two black beans in the tortilla soup. The two servers had confirmed this. The manager was caught substituting something and did not want to be caught in the lie. In addition, the place is always filthy (see picture). We have been here about four times, typically at night, and it doesn't look like any food that drops on the carpet is ever removed. The bathrooms should be condemned as well. There are plenty of better places to eat in the area. Avoid this place at all cost. read more

We were so disappointed in out trip. It was 830 pm and very few people in the restaurant, only one other table in our section. Our waitress came right over and got our order. After 15 minutes still no drinks. There was not one staff person even in sight. You could hear them in the back laughing. Finally a host came out. We asked for our drinks and she said, "Uhhhhh. I ordered an 8 oz steak with sides of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes was average as well as the beans. But, the most concerning aspect about this meal was that some parts of the steak were raw. I had to toss it due to the absolute disgust and superstitions about what it'll do to my self-being. We came in to eat Saturday, December 18, at 11 pm. They weren't super busy with just a few people at the bar and maybe a couple booths in the bar area. We waited at the hostess stand for 5 minutes and no one came out to seat us. The bartender was at the bar and looked right at us multiple times and never said a word. Maybe she didn't feel like she could leave the bar to seat us, but she could have acknowledged us at least. A simple "someone will be right with you" would have gone a long way. Tortilla soup was all onions and mushy tortillas and found two tiny slivers of chicken, ours at home has crisp tortillas, gorgeous CHUNKS OF TOMATOES AND AVOCADOS, none here to compare. The Chicken Quesadillias was so sad it was funny and what is with all the red onions. I've been to this place twice now, both times on Mother's Day when nearby restaurants were too crowded. It's not terrible at all, but we did have a few gripes. First off, the booth we were put in looks pretty terrible. There are several big holes in the upholstery. The service was pretty slow as well although it was a bit crowded and got progressively moreso as the afternoon went on. As for the food, I had the chicken penne dish, and it was fine. We ordered some apps, and we all agreed the Pretzel breadsticks and beer cheese dip was very good. Green bean crispers and Spinach Artichoke dip were good as well.
