I was honestly pleasantly surprised when I walked into this bar on a weeknight. After about 10pm, the bar area turns into that kind of place where it feels like everybody knows everybody--very friendly, social, and lively energy. That's also when the half-off appetizers start, and it definitely becomes a party. They also have $6 drink specials throughout the month, which makes it a great spot to casually hang out without breaking the bank. LOL Why didn't I believe the reviews? They lived up to the hype for sure. The worst dining experience ever!!!! We arrived at 7PM and decided on the all you can eat 14.99 menu. It took almost an hour to get food and they still didn't have everything on the table. The server was seemingly nice but she sucked at the same time. No utensils, no refills, no check-ins. We grabbed the person at the front seating people to help us. 2 hours later food for 2 people that were with us finally came out and stuff was still not right. Now see.... Even knowing the reviews were low for a newer location of this franchise, we had hoped to boat them and as we had a gift certificate from family so what was the loss on our part, right? So after driving 14 miles we are sadly unimpressed with dining. Now I will come sit in the bar area and hang with the fun crowd! Well the reviews are right. Let me first say that it was not the staff. They are seriously doing all they can with the number of people we walked in with to be served and a full bar on NFL playoffs weekend. Two waitresses for the whole sitting area and one bartender on a busy football Saturday night. This bar area is full and the seating areas are filling up quick. My complaint is .... The food is just frozen menu.. the AUCE menu is back and while I was hoping it would be more than frozen food reheated, well I was incorrect. Nothing inventive, nothing cooked up fresh. The shrimp tasted freezer burnt and it was not even deep fried. It was like air fryer and definitely didn't see any grease or oil. I know we are a generation now of bad oil bad but give me deep fried shrimp over this every single day. I did enjoy the fries but I like "handcut" style fries. Please make the cocktail sauce not be ketchup with a splash of lemon. Amp up the horseradish! I'm from the Charleston coast and I KNOW what seafood and cocktail sauce needs to taste like... not this! I've been here a few times now. This place has some of the loudest music while trying to eat. When you leave your ears will probably hurt if you sit anywhere near a speaker. Worst manages restaurant I have ever been to. I first ordered an appetizer with was the pretzel with cheese sauce only for the waiter to come 10 minutes later and tell me they are sold out of it. So i pick another appetizer and it takes 20 minutes for it to come. When we ordered our entrees the water comes back 20 minutes later only to tell us they are sold out of fries. We tried it again and was my last time, IM DONE. We ordered water and that took forever. The atmosphere is not the great, like it was when we first started going. We keep it simple and I order rarely change. we do the 2 for $20 or $25. Same app and everything. So I ordered this new steak and potato dish with mushrooms and tomatoes(minus the tomatoes of course). I have an that dish before and it was great! This was not good at all the favor was there but you could tell it was thrown together. I waitress was the worst. One star is being generous. Clearly they are understaffed, okay I accept that. As we were walked to our table the hostess said, "excuse the mess" By mess, she meant all the food and napkins that had been spilled onto the floor next to our table. While we sat there is disgust, we watched as multiple servers just walked over the mess. Other guests were even taken over the mess to get to their table. The tables across from us hadn't been cleared and were a mess as well. Our server came over and he was very pleasant. Without us saying a word, he grabbed a broom and cleaned up the mess in the middle of the floor and apologized. He was just about the only good thing to our experience. I ordered the four cheese Mac and cheese with chicken tenders. The sauce comes with bacon and I don't eat pork so the server said they can make it without. Perfect. We also ordered mozzarella sticks which came out after my friends main meal. When my dish was brought out, it had bacon in it. The server apologized and said he asked for it without but the kitchen must be too busy to pay attention. He brought me the menu and I declined ordering anything else since my friends were almost done eating by the time the menu was brought back to me. This place sucks. Don't eat there. read more

No waters,no drinks, no appetizers. Server didn't even have the skill to come check in on us but she definitely had the time to deliver drinks to other tables in the same section that were sat 10-15 min after we were seated. 0/10 this location needs to be closed down and management/staff needs to be completely revamped. I had the absolute worst experience here today. First thing, it took our server forever to even bring drinks. I looked over that because I understand that sometimes they get busy. (Meanwhile today was the slowest I ever seen it there.) Secondly, it took our food over an hr to come out. Our food came out and all of it was cold. But this past Friday, We went in got seated after a little wait (totally fine). After being seated, it took about 10-15 mins just to order our drinks. After 5 mins she walks back past us, with nothing in her hands. She said "I'll be right back with your drink, Im just waiting for it to be made". I ordered a coke.... After another 10 mins she walks past our table and doesn't say anything. She past our table 5 times. And never once brought either of us more than 1 drink with in the 2 hours we were there. Despite her acknowledgement of the drinks, it failed to get done. But as always we are super polite and understanding that everyone has a job to do and that it may take longer than usual sometimes. But it was 2 hours, and it was acknowledged once. And I failed to mention when we got our food, my girlfriend was missing an entire part of her meal. And she had to bring it up "I'm sorry, I was supposed have fries with this" and our waitress said "They're being made at the moment". Why would that not seem like something mention when handing someone their food??? Save your time, unless you want to last on the priority list. Okay, So, I decided to visit this Applebee's today because I wanted a beer and I wanted to sit at a bar and drink the beer. It was not my first choice but since i was in the area I figured why not. This isn't my first time here, I come many times before. I had swore myself off, for various reasons, mostly dealing with service. Today when I sat at the bar I immediately noticed fruit flies flying around. The bar tender I was familiar with and he seemed to be less irritable today. I asked for bud light on draft and of course they didnt have BUD LIGHT on tap. SMH. So I got a Miller Light. The glass I was served in was chipped on the rim, I was fortunate not to cut my lip. I brought it to the bar tenders attention and he got me another beer and that glass was also chipped. It just so happened the manager was walking by and I brought it to his attention and he got me another beer. Which was not chipped, thankfully. The food was bar food, nothing special.
