Updating to four starts after more positive experiences here. The online orders are always ready on time. Don't love the fee to do online but it is what it is. It tastes good and is consistent. We also love the new mushroom trio topping and the new pizza rolls. Even on New Year's Eve the takeout order was ready to go and good. read more

The staff are so friendly and that is always consistent. They have a bar where you can sit as well as tables and have some pretty good selections as far as liquor and seltzers go. And they always have the game on and light music playing. I do try somthing different as far as the pizza or stromboli option goes when I come here. I have yet to find a favorite that would make this my go to pizza spot. Their appetizers are always good and their pizza and strombolis are always well put together, but I have one fact that is consistently understood each time I visit a Mellow Mushroom... There are ZERO seasoning present on the ingredients that are outside of the basil and oregano family. I have had different variations of the pizzas and strombolis and anything with meat in it just tasted like meat. Lol I hope that makes sense. I do understand that there are people that do not season their food... My ancestores however will not allow it! So my pallat realizes when something is bland and it hurts because everything is always so cheesy, anything you get looks amazing and their marinara is fresh and good the BOOM, blandasamf. I just have to open my stromboli or take the pizza and hit it with a luh salt and pepper das all dassit. Also getting the marinara sauce helps or hot sauce or ranch. To each his own, if you like it I love it for you. It is not a deal breaker for MM anywhere, just a note to take. Oh and the parking at this particular location is horrrrribly designed. I stopped by Mellow Mushroom in Sandy Springs for lunch on Tuesday April 14, 2026. Ordered by meal with water and decided to ask the server if I could pay with a $20.00 bill. Her response was "let me see if we have change" My Italian sub and water would probably be $9.50. Who runs a restaurant with NO CASH to make change. I just got up and left. Mellow Mushroom is a great choice for a casual meal with friends. The service is cool and friendly, and the servers are knowledgeable about the menu. You can find just about any kind of pizza you like here. My personal favorite is the Holy Shiitake Pie, covered in mushrooms and a killer aioli, is amazing. I also love their mushroom Brie soup and their pretzel bits with a beer cheese dipping sauce. Definitely crave-worthy! Draft beers are nice and they also have a few craft cocktails. We ordered a large catered lunch for our meeting at Northside Hospital. We had three different pizzas, wings and Caesar salads and they were all exceptional! They packaged everything in easy to carry boxes and bags, and even supplied the plates and cutlery. We ordered our food a week ahead of time and the food was ready exactly on time and with a smile! Gotta stop by for a vegan pizza when traveling. There's no Mellow Mushrooms in California, so whenever I see one close by when traveling, I gotta place an order. I appreciate the amount of vegan options available (although would love to see a plant-based protein added). There's pizzas, sandwiches, pretzels, salads. Every time I go into the Sandy Springs Mellow Mushroom I smile because this place represents what was once the heart and soul of Sandy Springs. I love their original location with the bowling balls embedded in the outside wall and loved the funky, divey aspect of the place before Sandy Springs bulldozed them. I don't know where they find the young young wait staff with the colored hair and tattoos and the hippy era vibe. They could well be the daughters and granddaughters of the young women who once hung out on Peachtree Street in the 60's. The new location has been through a couple renovations and has a great bar and inside and outside seating but still provides a welcoming Mellow Mushroom vibe. Obviously while the staff and ambiance are great, warm and welcoming, you go back for the food - primarily the pizza and the draft beer - and they have a great selection of both. While the pizza is consistently great, I really love the calzone which is huge and a very satisfying meal, the salads are generous and the subs are great as well. I love Mellow Mushroom and appreciate how they were nimble and accommodating during Covid, how pleasant and efficient they were and how they continue to exemplify the best of Sandy Springs. read more

Food is always good! Pizza (of course!), wings, salads. Solid beer selection with NAs available. Wine and cocktails for those non-beer drinkers. The staff has a little turnover but I give credit to management they always hire really nice, friendly people. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever you like and even though they are located right on Roswell Rd the patio is perfect for any afternoon or evening with plenty of seating. I made the mistake of ordering delivery thru grub hub. The pizza was stone cold and inedible upon delivery. GH refused to refund- if mellow mushroom thinks this is the right way to go for their business, well, there are a million other pizza places in town. She was gone for awhile but after eating my delicious pizza ( it was really good) I saw her walking outside from next door. Maybe she had lunch as well. Oh my, I just noticed I NEVER reviewed my favorite Mellow Mushroom spot! The Sandy Springs location is absolutely the best for one reason: they play entirely 80s music! They sit off Roswell Rd, next to the newly opened Moe's, and about a mile down the road from 285. Parking is a b$&@h here, and getting out can be frustrating (bc Roswell Rd can be slam packed). Don't let that deter you, though! I've been here so many times with my son, it's hard to count. I took him recently two weeks ago, and got hit with the Ghostbusters song before walking in the door. The artwork inside is awesome, and I love the turtle mural painting. They offer up plenty of comfy booths, tables, bar seating and an outdoor covered patio area. You can't ever go wrong with a cheese pizza and lil Greek salad (that salad is not little, and can be an entire meal - they pack it with cucumbers, banana peppers, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, feta, olives and pepperoncini peppers). I also love the pretzel bites with the beer cheese. The crust on the pizza is always a hit as well. They typically have some pretty decent draft beer options too! The hubs and I met another couple here for dinner. Amanda was our server and she was awesome! She was very helpful and attentive throughout our meal. Five stars for her! This MM is consistent with the other MMs. Same atmosphere and decor. Pretty much the same layout as well. Ample parking available, but I imagine it can be challenging on some occasions. My only complaint is that there were either gnats or flies (don't remember which one) at the restaurant and that was a bit annoying. Our friends arrived an hour or so early, so they had already been munching before the hubs and I arrived. Once my husband and I got there, we ordered the following: Pretzel Bites $7.99 Kosmic Karma (medium) $19.49 + half pepperoni $1.85 Hubs also ordered a beer. I was really disappointed to see that they had removed the Magical Mystery Tour specialty pizza from their menu. It is my absolute favorite! I asked Amanda about it and she said they have the ingredients for all the pizzas that were removed and could make it for me. Unfortunately, I could not remember the name of it at the time! I could only remember a few ingredients. Ugh. I didn't find out the name until two days after our visit, so I will definitely be back and order the Magical Mystery Tour. I ordered the Kosmic Karma because it was the closest thing to MMT, but the taste was completely different. The KK wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't what I was looking forward to eating. It was good nonetheless. I love me some MM pizza, and their dough is just amazing. Which is why I ordered the pretzel bites. They're essentially just MM dough. The beer cheese was a nice dip! The medium pizza and the pretzel bites were more than enough for the hubs and I, so we took what was left to go. I called to place a takeout order for my co-workers and I and I must say this was one of the easiest to go orders I've places for a group in a long time. The gentleman (pretty sure his name was Alex) that answered the phone was friendly and repeated back all the orders I gave to him to make sure he had everything correct. He also gave the total and let me know where the food could be picked up once my co-worker arrived to pick it up. Once we got our food, I was pleased that when my co-worker picked it up there were no issues and all orders were separated already out for each person who ordered. I ordered their lunch special which included one slice of pizza with two toppings, a tossed salad, and a drink for $6.99. A gooood deal right? Especially when the pizza slices are as big as my face! Okay. Kidding...but one slice was enough for me. I just had applewood smoked bacon on my slice and there was plenty of cheese, sauce, and bacon on my good ol pizza. It was delicious and not greasy. Their dough is somethin special too. I think there's garlic or somethin on it and it just adds to the greatness of the pizza. I'd definitely order from this location again! read more

Mellow Mushroom is as close to Artisan pizza as you're going to get from a chain-style restaurant. It's a step above delivery and where it doesn't have the feel of a mom and pop shop, you can still count on quality, delicious food. It's a whimsical sort of place and the atmosphere really reflects that. The staff is really laid back and kind. The employee who seated us was so casually dressed and chill that I almost mistook him for a guest before he asked how many were in our party. We went for lunch on a Friday and there were a handful of guests in the restaurant, but we were quickly sat and our waiter was prompt with service. I love the different pizza options, they're all so cleverly named. I had the Holy Shiitake Pie and my boyfriend ordered the Thai Dye Pie (say that three times fast). This was my first time trying the Shiitake and I loved it, easily one of my favorites. It's a meatless option, but our waiter informed me that it's possible to add meat (I didn't). What does always bother me about their pizzas is the swirl of sauce on top, mine had a creamy white sauce, the Thai Dye has a red spicy sauce. I think it gives the pizza an aesthetic element, but I much prefer my sauce evenly spread around the pizza, not just in every other bite. The pizza crust is also a tad bit sweet in my opinion, my boyfriend said he didn't notice, but it threw me off. That aside, the pizza was great. We each ordered a small, but couldn't finish them. How doesn't love leftover cold pizza, though? The great thing about Mellow Mushroom pizza is that their pies definitely hold up as leftovers. The crust isn't flimsy or thin. It's a nice medium and cooked well. Cold or reheated, the leftovers are almost as good as the fresh. It's a nice stop for lunch, dinner, or takeout. Decided to go back and give this Mellow Mushroom a second chance. I had ordered a Greek Salad without mushrooms or olives. When it arrived to my table I was shocked to see these items. I let the waitress know about this mistake and she was happy to make it right. Imagine my surprise when she comes back out with my salad and it still has these items in it. She said "sorry I can't touch your food but that's the best we could do." I was in disbelieve that after being served something with items I was asked to be left off, I was still tried to be served it again. The main course (pizza) was delicious. It is supposed to be romaine and iceberg, is basically all iceberg (which I hate) and the tomatoes were ick. Pay better attention than I did and get the field greens. The past 2 occasions I've come here have made me question coming back. One time I came, I ordered, they completely forgot about my order.
