I went here with a friend and we ordered a New York strip. I could not believe this steak well it was the most beautiful, delicious steak I've ever had in my life. This place is a hidden gem!!! We had blackberry cobbler topped with ice cream for dessert. It was also delicious it took me back to the old days. It was so good the service could not baby. The girl was on top of everything. I've been coming here either alone or with a large group of friends for around 3 years. The food has always been very good and we'd play Keno and enjoy lunch and conversation once a week or so. However, when our usual wonderful waitress moved and had to leave this job, it was all down hill with the customer service. The new wait staff seems to be either drunk or high, talking very loud and calling myself and the other women I'm with 'honey' or 'babe'. If that wasn't rude enough, she kneels down next to your chair to take your order. When she gets it wrong, or can't read her own handwriting, she has to figure out who's order it is for the customer to decipher! And then, the orders come out of the kitchen wrong. After a couple of weeks of my not going to lunch, I joined them today. The last straw was today when I ordered fish and chips with coleslaw and only got the fish and coleslaw - No chips. When I brought it to her attention, she insisted (nastily) that "we don't got chips, and you ordered coleslaw. Yes, I ordered fish and chips, as it says on the menu AND coleslaw. " Well when you order coleslaw, you don't get no chips, and we don't got chips anyways. Dumber than a box of rocks, and higher than a kite. When I reported the behavior to him, he encouraged multiple women to follow us to the parking lot to fight us while we were attempting to leave. Yelp reviews were not good however google reviews were 4.2 so I gave it a chance. First off, it has a typical friendly neighborhood bar feel to it. I felt welcome, was helped pretty quick even though the bar tender was busy. But that's the only good I can muster. The burger was cooked on a grill with such charcoals flavor that it felt like I was eating a charcoal briquette, the bun was super dry and the reason I went there for the fried buffalo cauliflower and it was undercooked cold and crunchy in the middle and the breading wasn't close to being crispy. You know . . . I'm a little conflicted about this place. There are definitely 'regulars' that are treated very well. But the few times I've been here - I was amazed at how aggressive I had to be to simply get the bartender's attention so that I could place my order. I actually met a client here during my first visit - and I was so blown away by my burger, that I actually went back for a take-out order. Sad to report that they messed up my order. In fact - each time I've visited since then - they messed up my original order . . . and my order has consistently been a cheddar cheeseburger with fries. Lol. Seriously. So why 3 stars instead of 1 or 2? I honestly don't know. Maybe it's the memory of that first burger. Or maybe it's simply the fact that I can appreciate a good 'dive.' If you're a smoker and if you like pool - it's a great place to go. I've heard from other patrons that the nightly specials are well-prepared and well-priced. Oh - and they have trivia nights. They also have $5 Burgers on Monday and the Buy 10 / Get 10 Free Wing special every Wednesday. This past wednesday they also had shrimp and grits on the menu for $8.95. And as anothe reviewer noted - they have great pours. Very generous with the libations. Any way . . . This is not a popular hot spot or anything like that. Just a little joint out in Cobb. The only downside of this place is the smoke. But then again, you're at a bar/grill, so whaddya expect? I dealt with it for a little under an hour. I probably wouldn't return because of this, but overall, it wasn't crowded, so it wasn't smoked out just yet. I forgot the name of the burger, but it was so big, I needed a fork just to get through it. It was tasty with barbecue sauce, onion rings, and bacon on it. We were visiting another store to work in and the manager took us here for lunch. Great lunch specials- $5.97 and buy 10 wings get 10 wings free for $7.95! Crazy good deal! And the wings were good. The only thing is, this place smells so horribly of smoke that it burns your throat. No one was even actively smoking inside. It's just from over the years I suppose. But I wasn't paying and the manager smokes, so I didn't make a fuss. The service was quick and personable. Would I come here again? Maybe. If they had an outdoor seating area to get away from the smoke I would 100% come again if in the area. It just made it hard to enjoy. We were even seated in the nonsmoking section. We ordered a long island iced tea and a beer for him, as well as fish and chips to share. Being English, I am very particular about my fish and chips but they were fantastic! We got the wings and we've had better at Varner's and other local places. The TV's are super old and their are some pool tables crammed in the smoking section but a little awkward to play I should think. No jukebox, a major downside for me. By no means is this a fancy place. Let's get that straight from the beginning. It's a semi-dive. But it's one fun semi-dive. Hubby and I found this place by accident one day a few years ago on a visit to Patak Meats which is in the area (that's a review for another time). We love this place. We love the bartenders, the patrons and the all around great vibe you get. The food is really good and really a great price. Yes you can smoke here. So if that turns you off, then this isn't the place for you. Yes, the televisions need to be updated. They definitely are from the 90s. But everything else is just great.
