I have to appreciate that there is someplace to get a good bowl with some healthiER options than the fast food around the block. The drive through is super convenient too. It's not necessarily "fast" food, as they make your bowls when you order, but not a terrible wait. The lady at the window was super friendly, and tried to help us make sense of how to order. The menu seems simple, and there aren't a whole lot of variations like you'd probably expect at a walk-in salad bar. From the drive through, the counters looked clean and the diner looked in order. The area around is nice, and the decor is bright and cheery. Now our bowls were actually delicious! The spicy chicken is not a mild spice, so be prepared. The flavor was great, though, so if you like heat AND flavor, I'd say try it. Not too salty for me, and I tend to stay away from too much sauce or added salt. We ordered some of the lemon cookies, one of which was supposed to be a seasonal blueberry-lemon. The cookies are enormous, but they lacked any real flavor. As is often the case, we had lunch here after church last Sunday. My wife had Spicy Grilled Chicken over half rice and half greens with Chipotle Mango Avocado dressing. I had the same Spicy Grilled Chicken over brown rice with Lemon Pepper Ranch dressing. We both had a glass of sweet iced tea since the fountain drink machine was not working. I ended up not using all of the provided sauce but it was very tasty and it made me feel good (more healthy than other food options). We also got sweet potato chips and a cookie. I got to try the chocolate chip cookie and the salted caramel (?) cookie- both were crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle, very delicious. The procedure of ordering was ridiculous with an overly-cute policy of asking for your name and then calling you "Miss Linda" all the way down the line. I asked for menu prices and she wouldn't give them, just hurried me along to another station where she rang up the order, which was hastily and sloppily arranged. Then my cash was refused; they only take debit/credit cards. She acted amped up as if she were "on something" when preparing my meal and smirked when I got my order. I'm never going there again. Cute little place that at first glance gave me cafe vibes. You order at the counter, pay at another and by the time you head to get your drink, your food is ready. Service is efficient and friendly. I ordered the Polynesian chili mango bowl with tofu as my protein and 1/2 and 1/2 as the base. This was a terrific bowl. I was worried since all the choices looked good but I picked the right one for me. The rice was warm and the lettuce was crisp. The veggies were seasoned and I discovered I really didn't need the tofu (which there was plenty). Only thing I would have liked is the lettuce on top of the rice instead of beside it. Been here a couple of times to eat healthy. I have not been inside but only used the drive through which is convenient. There is seating inside for patrons. Bowls take about 3 to 4 minutes to prepare so you aren't waiting long. When you order a bowl there are several options: choose your starch / grain / while / brown rice and then build from there or choose from one of their premade options. I have enjoyed the Tahini Bowl with optional brown rice, cucumbers and feta with shrimp and on another day tried it with Tofu. Both were good and hit the spot. I usually hold the feta and add avocado. Each bowl comes with a complimentary bag of sweet potato chips. It's nice to have a healthy dietary option. My bowls have been on average $16 so not cheap but you can't put a price on health. read more

So far as I could tell, this is either primarily or solely a drive through establishment, which was fortunately what we were looking for on this day. The meals consist of combinations of rice bowls with protein and vegetables/fruit with a savory sauce with a bit of spicy. The combinations are pre-determined, but you do get to choose whether your base is rice, greens, or a combination of the two, and the meals are accompanied with a bag of sweet potato chips, which is a nice bonus, but honestly seems like a non sequitur, and does not go with the rest of the meal. You get the sense that maybe they are trying to get a toehold in the sweet potato chip market and are offering free samples. The food was tasty and fresh, nicely packed in a paper bowl with a snapped on plastic lid. The portion size was good for a fairly modest appetite. If you are accustomed to making your own poke bowl at certain restaurants, you might feel like you're not getting quite as much food for a similar cost. One thing that I did find curious is that there is an online app by which you can make your order. I had initially started two orders this way, then decided to abandon it and order from the drive through since it was our first time. Online, the order was going to be $10 for the basic bowl, plus $3 for the protein. So each bowl would have been $13. But ordering at the drive through, the total order was something around $24 for both bowls, so I'm not sure whether ordering online through the app adds a convenience fee or whether there was a difference between the two orders that I did not initially detect. The mango chili bowl was delicious with grilled chicken. The jerk chicken was just okay, but neither my friend nor I liked either of the sauces that came with it, and we would not order this one again. It was quite spicy without adding much other appealing flavor, although the bowl otherwise looked great and was fine without the additional sauce. Overall I would probably choose a poke bowl restaurant where I could select my own toppings if both were available, but if this is the only one, I'll definitely take it and be happy! read more

Noticed this place opened on our drive somewhere and came back in the way back. We ordered 3 items and had our two kids share the third item instead of ordering the kids meal. We had the chipotle mango avocado (chicken) and two of the Chile sesame bbq (chicken and spicy chicken) and did all bowls 1/2 salad 1/2 rice. Overall we thought our meals were tasty but the price point was a bit high. This place reminded us of chipotle and we like the flexibility of being able to choose our own ingredients at chipotle. However, I do like that the 6 choices offered at gusto all have unique flavors and our food did come out really fast. Some things that could have been improved: 1) it's confusing where you order and where you pay and pick up your food. I feel like the Avalon gusto has a better set up and I was a lot less confused. I also wish you could order and pay first, and then pick up your food at another section. 2) we ordered one of our dishes with spicy chicken but the person handing us our order could not tell us which one had spicy chicken. We later found labels on the bottom paper which told us. 3) love the seating area outdoors but really wish there was a way to exit without having to go through the restaurant again. Also, parking gets really tight because the seating area jets out into the parking. 4) I wish they had a "new" or "featured" bowl each week or month. It would really change it up and encourage me to visit more. Overall we had a great meal and I love the fact that there's a drive through option and outdoor seating. I would visit again and utilize the drive through instead of eating in. I love the fact that healthier options are coming to east Cobb! I increased my review from 3 to 4 stars because that's not enough healthy restaurants with drive through options in the area and this is a welcome addition. read more

I have eaten at Gusto twice. During the first visit, I had a salad that had an Alabama-style white BBQ sauce. It was amazing! I went back and was hoping to indulge in the same but learned it was a seasonal special (hint hint ... this one should come back!). The next I tried a lemon artichoke salad and subbed tahini dressing for the tzatziki. It was also phenomenal. I also applaud the staff for their flexibility. They were happy to navigate around my pickiness and subbed out things for others that were perfect. Thanks folks!! My only wish - I would love to see a sub for the sweet potato chips. I wasn't blown away by it, but I think this is a pretty good, reliable spot. This is more of a lunch location to me though. They offer 8 different bowls toppings, 4 different meats, and 3 different bowl bases, which is why they can make orders quickly. I ate in and got a Buffalo Buttermilk Blue bowl with spicy chicken. While the spicy chicken might have been muted in the buffalo sauce, I thought overall this bowl was a little small, but pretty good. Definitely fresh. These meals come with sweet potato chips, and unfortunately my bag was definitely from the bottom of the container, as it was largely chip dust and had few whole chips in it. If you told me they took a mallet to the bag, I'd believe it. With that minor issue out of the way, they offer 6 different hot sauces, a variety of other condiments, and a wide array of flavor profiles for you. Everything's fresh, clean, reasonably healthy, and nothing inoffensive about it, although I'd stop short of calling it a home run or hidden gem. read more

The ordering process was quick and simple going through the drive thru. The staff was friendly and had a great attitude. The only reason for the low score was due to having wilted veggies. I was really disappointed when I got home to see that my salad was not edible. The flavor was great but the look was not appealing. I honestly didn't expect to get such good service! I was told to try this place by a friend. She hasn't had Cava and i hadn't had Gusto. I can see the similarities but these places are different!! I will say the service was 100% better than most places in the area. I had never been and i came kinda close to closing! The staff was soooo nice and patient. They were cleaning when i walked in, but i was greeted when they noticed me. I didn't really know what i wanted but They walked me through the menu and even gave me a tasting of the two sauces i was torn between. I didn't feel rushed, they honestly seemed like they wanted me to like my food!! I got the rice and green mix and the ginger peanut sauce with chicken!! Whew that sauce was amazing! I was done... yes i ate the entire bowl and just wanted to just get one more bite! They have a reward system which is always nice!! I'll be back!! read more

Gusto East Cobb had the grand opening today. A soft opening was held 8/21/21 where you could get free food through the drive through line. Today, I purchased the Buffalo Buttermilk Greens Bowl. The Buffalo Buttermilk Bowl has a Blue Cheese Pickled Vegetable Topping with a really good Buffalo sauce. I liked the pickled celery and tomatoes but I do not eat dairy so I just had the Blue Cheese Topping put on the side. I also had some of the Mango Limeade and the Limeade. The Mango Limeade and the Limeade had an interesting flavor to me. The lime flavor was strong in both but did not have the citrus flavor I would expect from a limeade. I also enjoyed the Buffalo Sauce topping. My favorite add on option is the Baby Bella mushrooms. They have great flavor and texture. I think those should be offered as a vegan protein option like the tofu instead of only being offered as an add on. The staff is so nice personable at Gusto. There is a covered outdoor seating area at this location with a long bench and tables. There are also a lot of parking spaces in the parking lot. read more

I cannot speak the praises of this restaurant enough. Gusto offers different options of "curated" bowls, each with different flavors. This isn't Chipotle or Moe's. You don't pick each individual item to make something custom. Also, this is a healthy place. You're getting brown rice and sweet potato chips, not white rice and fried tortilla chips covered in queso. It's also not a place to eat yourself sick and have half a bowl worth of leftovers. It's a good serving amount, no doubt, but I don't leave unbuttoning my pants. Instead, I feel "good" and not sick. Gusto is superb, and ever since my first visit at the Ponce location, I counted down the days until it opened closer to me in East Cobb. This is a quick, affordable, healthy option to get really good bowls that won't leave you feeling sluggish. Wow first time I've had it! It's really fantastic. Door Dash delivery. Very quick. Avocado, mango half greens and half brown base. Grilled chicken which is exceptional and is like it was grilled perfectly on an outdoor grill. Seinfeld reference "big salad" plenty of everything. Menu is pretty limited but there is one item that I like. A little on expensive side for portion size but food is all fresh so probably still a good value. Biggest complaint is they didn't give me a fork when doing thru drive thru. You can't eat their food without a fork so it was a real issue and I didn't realize it until I was 20 min away. This was second time it happened so check your order carefully before you leave. Also when you pay you'll be asked to tip 20% for drive through service. Seems odd but maybe this is new standard. Food is very good especially for those looking for healthier fast food. I had the combination salad and rice bowl with spicy chicken (not overly spicy) and mango, black bean and corn. The sweet potato chips were very good too, not at all greasy. The bowl is generous so order accordingly. Service through the drive through works well. Only complaint, and frankly it's minor is the bowl selection is a bit limited with only six toppings. Although considering it's supposed to be fast probably works best for them. read more

Pretty tasty for fast food or quickly serve. I've tried all the bowls in various way.. with lettuce or with the rice. The rice is for sure the way to go but..... one super annoying thing about this place is that after you pay, they throw this tablet at you and day "could you take a minute to answer a couple questions". I don't want to touch a tablet that the last 30 people in cars have put their grimy hands on so that I can leave their workers a tip!
