Dined there on Christmas Day- it was one of the few places open on the holiday. But it was not crowded. They had a special limited menu headlined by a "turkey dinner" at 16.99. My guest ordered it. It featured three little rolls of what looked like thinly sliced turkey from the deli, an ice cream scoop of dressing and another of mashed potato. There were also some rather stringy green beans. Overall, it resembled a holiday meal at Boot Camp. A slice of pumpkin pie was included with the turkey dinner I had the fish and chips which was good, but probably frozen, despite being billed as "hand breaded". The staff seemed a little confused and made a bit of a scene as the host and a server argued over how to arrange two tables for a party of 5. There were a few too many TV sets for my taste. I was at Applebees on my birthday January 20th with my sister whose birthday is January 19. She is 10 years younger than me. Anyway we ordered our meals and we were all happy with our entrees. We were given a birthday dessert that was tasty. The restaurant was not very busy which is when I like to dine out. I liked the football games on the tv. This is a great Applebee's location. I love that they now carry impossible burgers (make it a cheeseburger!), and you can get broccoli as your side instead of fries. I wish that wasn't a big deal, but it is! I also appreciate the very obvious labeling of the impossible burger because sometimes those things taste pretty realistic. I hadn't been to Applebee's in the longest time. We went here on a late Saturday night when visiting Lynchburg when almost everything else was closed lol. But it was a great time! The restaurant was packed, good atmosphere, good food. I really enjoyed the Four-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders and the blue cocktail. A year and a half or so after my original visit to this location, I ate here again. It was date night so I got some food here with the lady. The second time around I am more impressed and my perception of Applebee's in general has improved. I ordered Grilled Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo, which she ordered also it came out hot and the chicken was very well seasoned before cut across the pasta, broccoli and Alfredo. The broccoli was fresh had a little crunch and pasta soft and everything was tasty. Meal gets a 3 and 1/2 out of 5 The only thing I did not approve of as far as food was the breadstick that came with it. It was not well seasoned, a little stale, hard and tasted as if it had been cooked up with fish perhaps. The breadsticks definitely don't come close to those of a popular Italian sit down restaurant. Service is very friendly! We came on a Sunday evening after dinner and it was not too crowded. We were greeted and seated immediately. Despite the slow night, service and being waited on seemed slightly slow(just slightly!) but they did a great job. This is 2023 and I greatly understand the problems of the labor market and I was sure to leave a well deserved and generous tip. Restaurant is an older location but has been updated. My original visit I felt like it was a bit dated but they've really spruced it up and it isn't really dark, depressing and they have a plethora of TV's around if you want to watch a game too. Two recent visits to Applebee's. First visit I had the fish & chips. The French fries were seasoned & tasted great. However, my fish was over cooked based on what it looked like appearance wise. I still wanted to give them another chance. 2nd time I ordered fish & chips. Again, the fries tasted great. However, this time the fish was undercooked. Outward appearances were deceitful. When I got to the middle of the fish, it appeared to be semi cooked in two of the fish pieces as if the fish pieces were frozen & not cooked all the way. Very disappointing. read more

Last night, my husband wanted to take me on a date to Applebee's. They had drink specials and a couple other specials. We got there around 7:30, and we were told to wait 15 minutes so we waited. There was no one in front of us waiting. The manager then pulled the host because they didn't properly staff, so no one was up front to greet anyone. A man walked in and sat himself at a table around 7:50. He was given a beer and a menu by the manager. My husband then asked the host to speak to said manager. The manager told the host to tell us that we had to wait so my husband went to the manager and told him what happened. The manager said that it isn't his fault and we had to just sit and wait. He said the host s supposed to tell us 30 minutes. We had no problem waiting, the problem came in when someone came behind us and was served and the manager, named Andy, didn't do anything to help us or show any remorse. Terrible customer service. Terrible manager. If I could give zero stars I would. My advice, if you want to eat here, just walk in and sit yourself. They don't care about what's right. read more

Both were really good and service was excellent. I only had one complaint. The glasses from the bar were dirty! We sent two different draft beers back due to the strange taste. Finally asked for one in a bottle and it came with an empty glass to pour it in and you didn't even have to hold the glass up to the light to see how nasty it was and the soap residue. First of all Applebees is the McDonalds of casual dining. Everything they offer is frozen or pre-packaged. This particular location seems to be run by rif raf. I ordered the chicken penne pasta and asked for a simple substitution of shrimp for the chicken it normally comes with. Waitress told me it would be no problem. 30 min everyone's food comes accept for mine. She tells me that she couldn't substitute the meats and asked me what else I would like to order. I immediately spoke to the manager and told him that because of her incompetence I was now watching the rest of my party eat. He comped my meal and I swore to never eat there again. read more

Our experience here was just ok. The waitress was polite and helpful and the wing appetizer was yummy. Our entrees though left a little to be desired. I had the pasta with chicken tenders and it was drowned in the sauce, so much so that it was all I could taste. My husband's ribs were tasty but barely had any meat on it and my daughter's pizza was burnt. The dessert was ok but just like any other chocolate lava cake from almost any chain restaurant. Please..... get rid of the Brioche Hamburger Buns! They taste fine but they are too small for an 8 oz burger and they fall apart and get soggy long before you can finish the burger. End up having to cut the burger in half or even quarters in order to keep it and the toppings somewhat together. Often have to finish the burger with a knife and fork (that ain't right). Five minutes later a waitress passed our way, and we were given silverware. It's Applebee's. I didn't expect much. I wasn't let down. When asked how I'd like my burger cooked, I was offered the options of "pink or no pink" (and it says that on the menu too). So, after giggling about this to myself, I decided to order a burger with pink. I'm still laughing about this as I write the review. My girlfriend ordered her burger without pink. The orders came out, and when I bit into my burger, it was over cooked and completely lacked the pink that I was promised. I guess they gave my girlfriend my burger because hers was not a barely edible piece of rubber. The sweet potato fries were good though. Management kinda creeped us out with the over the top phony customer service shindig paired with the unrelenting awkward gaze that was fixated on our friend. The booth for two we sat in was very tight and extremely uncomfortable. The booth seats were very worn with a noticeable dip in the center that hurt our backs terribly.
