There is a waiter who is giving her minimal help, but she is clearly keeping this place afloat: If you are the manager, you should be ashamed to let one employee carry the load. Entrance is presentable, bathroom clean from hand soap to personal ladies products if needed and did not expect (you know what). Now the IPA was tap and fresh you can tell from the foam, clarity, color, and aroma. Now the Carne Asada Taco Pizza this has topped all other places I have gone in Lynchburg. This place is a must come. Freshness, crisp bread, ingredients, (MUY BUENO) Very GOOD! Yes, prices are high but for the quality worth every cent. A unique and interesting take on pizza. This pizza is served on what I call a "cracker crust"... Like thin crust pizza, but much crispier. The crust is a little tough and requires quite a bit of extra chewing, which I was not prepared for. Nevertheless, it was pretty good. I ordered the southern barbecue pizza without bacon. It included brisket, chicken, corn, red onions, and a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken was unseasoned. I think the pizza would have tasted would have tasted better with a little seasoning on the chicken. However, the star of my dinner was the Downeast Caramel Apple cider on tap. However good you think it sounds, it tastes SO much better than that. If you happen to be near this restaurant during the last few weeks of fall, you HAVE to try this. As a matter of fact, if you see this cider at ANY bar or restaurant you're at, you must try it. Absolutely amazing! My server did an incredible job being pretty much the only server on the floor in a mostly packed restaurant. The bartender was on the floor waiting tables as well but between the two of them, they did an incredible job. Delicious food! We visited waterstone while on a road trip to Virginia. It was perfect - great food, atmosphere and service. We started off with fried green tomatoes and requested for the jam on the side. It was fried to perfection, held its beading until we digged in, which is rare in fried green tomatoes. Mozzarella cheese was fresh and tasty too. We then got Greek pizza on a pesto base and LOVED it! Just the right amount of toppings and crust was so thin and crispy. 10/10 for Pizza. For our toddler we got nuggets and fries, and the portion that they gave was huge! I could tell they fried it fresh and breading had seasoning which made it tasty for a child meal. Fries were really good too. Child meal also came with a beverage (we chose apple juice) and ice-cream (this made our toddler sooo happy)!! I'm writing this review as I'm literally eating the leftover child meal - which is a testimony in itself how good it was. If we visit the area again, I will definitely come back. read more

Very pleasant surprise ! Stayed at the attached upscale hotel (they cooperate but have no ownership in each other) and was expecting the usual overpriced mediocrity .... Wrong !!! Best pizza I have had in a loooong time. Perfect crust. Great Service. Fair priced. Great ambience (it's shared structure with a fancy hotel so it's not a dump). As to every love story, this one ended like Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy. I will start with this, the pizza tasted pretty good, the place was clean, and our waitress was nice. But dear god, we have some stuff to talk about. First and foremost, we ordered 3 pizzas and got some water. ONE HOUR LATER our pizzas showed up and it wasn't even that busy. One of the pizzas had a crust that half of it looked like it had gone through the 7th circle of hell, so my fellow diner, disappointed and tired of waiting, opted to wait to dine elsewhere. The pizza shown looked a little thrown together and the "toppings" portion was about the size of my hand...for $18. Like damn. They took the burnt pizza off of the bill, but herein lies the bad. Usually a manager will come on over and try to remedy the issue, but nope, it wasn't even talked over again nor was the excessive wait. Last but not least, the bill for 2 pizzas (NO drinks included) was $42.48. I was in Lynchburg, VA this weekend and some friends and I decided to go out for late lunch on Feb. 7. So glad we ended up at WaterStone Pizza. Staff was friendly, also. Wow how they have changed for the worst indeed. Sunday evening 2/23/25. Server had an attitude, and we got that 20% tip added to the bill. He was not worth 5% let alone 20%. Some people waited 45 minutes after others to be served. People were done eating when the last person was served. The server clearly did not want to be there was not friendly or engaging We asked for a desert menu, he showed us a hand written list without the prices shown. We ordered a slice of cake was shocked when it was $15.00. There is no place in town I would spend $15.00 for a slice of cake. I cannot express how upset and disappointed I am with my reservation last week. The first thing that went wrong was I emailed to ask if we could push back our reservation as the graduation ceremony had been pushed back due to weather. I had booked the room out in February so I wanted to update the timing. However I did not get a response. As I am actively walking across the stage to get my diploma, the restaurant is calling me to ask where my party is. I get back to my seat and explain that I emailed asking for a later time to which I am told the person I had been communicating with no longer works there and her emails do not transfer to anyone so they did not know about my request. I have some grace with that however when four members of the party had been there for 20 minutes before the rest of the party arrived, and had yet to receive even a glass of water I knew it was going to be rough. We ordered 5 appetizers and we got 3 of them. Drinks took 30 minutes to be brought up and that was after our waiter informed us they were out of 3/5 of their speciality cocktails. We go to order food only to be told they are out of a handful of items including the ones we booked the reservation to get. As if this could not get worse, one of the waiters tripped my aunt. She went flying on the ground and the waiter did not even pick up the glass she was carrying. The only reason she got up was to get a glass of iced tea as they had left us a pitched to pour our own drinks out of. We asked to speak to the manager and no manager came. Luckily my aunt is okay, but with the amount of ice and glass that flew due to her fall someone could have gotten hurt and no one seemed to care. Our food came out in shifts. I understand with a party so large it is hard to balance the timing however 3 people were completely done with their meals before the remaining 9 of us had even gotten our plates. This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant because we had a pleasant first experience. We came in through the hotel and we're seated quickly. Aubrey, our waitress, was very pleasant and provided excellent service. We ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer which was really good, and shared a Margherita pizza. The positives: They have parking. The cons: I have never had such a confusing experience at a restaurant in my life. First off, there were like 3 tables in the whole restaurant that were filled. And in the time, the server never came to check on us. Then the appetizers finally came out, the forgot the cheese with my pretzel. After another 5 minute wait we finally got the cheese. Except instead of Gouda cheese it was nacho cheese. Like the stuff that comes from a can. I'm not sure what the problem was because there was nobody there. We watched food sit in the window for 5-10 minutes before the servers would deliver it. They never gave us silverware or napkins either. I would suggest rethinking ever going here. My husband's soda drink came out in a dirty glass that wasn't immediately seen until he drank from it. Worst pizza ever - crust tasteless and crunchy and Thai Salad had cucumbers (not listed) no crisp vegetables, no cabbage, wilted lettuce, 5 cashews, chicken (not marinated) was dry and chewy. Mine was tasteless, soggy and the tomato sauce was a little too sweet for me, my sister didn't have complaints for her pizza until she found either wood chipping or stick in her pizza. Last time we ate here, we were completely ignored. A table of three with the most simple dishes, and yet people who came in after us got waited on immediately and got their food before us. The food also isn't what is used to be. And being that we were the only family of color, and sat totally out of the way, didn't make us feel great either. New menu or not, we will not be returning. Waterstone used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We quit going there after the quality declined and some of our favorite dishes were removed from the menu. I had been craving a good pizza. After reading the reviews and seeing the menu, we decided to give Waterstone another try. Our favorites were back on the menu! We were seated and given menus. I realized that the dishes that we were coming to enjoy were no longer on the menu. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said that the menu online must've been an old menu. She also mentioned that it wasn't her fault! We went ahead and ordered. The salad was great, but the pizzas were dry and tasteless. The crust reminded me of a saltine cracker. It was hard and crunchy. We like thin crust pizzas, but these were like something you would get at a gas station. We were quite disappointed and will not go back. read more

I began my Downtown restaurant return with a visit to Waterstone Pizza at 4 PM today to participate in their Tuesday through Thursday Happy hour specials that include discounts on draft beer and half-price appetizers. A $16 loaded fries appetizer for eight dollars that was big enough to take home for a second meal was a winner and they have some other good choices as well for a future visits. I had a draft beer and followed that up with some sweet tea. And I went home with my leftovers and a customary extra serving of sweet tea out the door. It was nice to be back in this restaurant, which is just down at the other end of Jefferson Street where I live. There were a few other people in the restaurant, and the weight staff who took care of me, was friendly and competent, seemingly in charge of the place! The problem with my planned returned to a Downtown restaurant crawl is that I have so many restaurants to visit that I may not be able to come back here for another two or three months. read more

Don and I had a nice, late dinner at Waterstone Pizza tonight with Tim and his family. I always enjoy any chance to get to see Rachel. We hadn't seen her since her birthday party. I got a kick out of Rachel enjoying the Calamari I ordered as an appetizer. Tim likes calamari too. She also liked drawing with the crayons and paper the sweet waitress brought her.
