This was my best experience at this location. The server made eye contact and thanked me for spending my Sunday afternoon with them. I said "oh wow, I've never been genuinely thanked for coming in. Our server was bubbly and very attentive. Our food was hot and delicious. We chose the little brownie bite dessert with ice cream as our dessert. After we were done eating, I didnt see our waitress again and didnt have our check. Luckily, I figured out how to pay at the table using the hand held device. We had great timing. In Cleveland, beachwood Applebees. Restaurant had 6 tables seated out of 50 ish, still had to wait 10 minutes to be acknowledged. That was bartender shouting "Be right with you". When seated, table across aisle was full of dirty dishes. The drinks had no ice and had made table wet because it was hot in there and they were sweating. Obviously, had been there for some time before we came in. Ordered appetizers, then our meal, drinks took 2o minutes "bartender is working on your bush apple light". When they came with drinks, no beer, had to ask again. She brought a can of beer, no glass for my Wife. Why would it take so long to get a beer (in a can mind you), a Diet Coke and a water. Then dinner came out. Salmon plate was so hot it was unsafe, only warm plate of the 3. Chicken Alfredo looked a week old and broccoli was limp, ribs were cold, so 0-3 on meals and still no appetizer. After 15 minutes eating our meals, appetizer came out, completely cold. You can't eat cold mozzarella sticks or pickle fries, they were disgusting. Sent it back, didn't want it and told her why. Also asked for a refill of my Pepsi and had to ask twice for refill that had been empty 3 times she came to our table. Lady across aisle had no utensils, asked 3 times, food had to be cold when she could attempt to eat it. As we left, original table was still full of plates, table behind us was full of plates and lady across aisle did not eat her food. I've travelled across country with a softball travel team and would target hotels next to Applebees. Menu always consistent. This one in Cleveland was not just the worst Applebees, it was the worst I've ever experienced. When I asked for refills numerous times, food out late and meals before appetizers, place was in disarray, it was terrible. They did not apologize, barely acknowledged us at all. The only good thing about the restaurant was that the waiters and hostesses was really nice . However the food was atrocious and the service was bad . I got a salad with chicken on it but the chicken was dry like it had been in the refrigerator for a long time without being covered up and it was just dry and hard. My husband ordered a beer and it took almost a half hour to get it . And when he got it it was flat . My husband ordered pasta and it was hard because it had been sitting and waiting for someone to deliver it for so long . It wasn't hot in the top of the pasta was hard . I wish we had never spent that to go there . How can you screw up a salad by just using old chicken that was never covered ? How can it take so long to deliver a beer to our table ? I can't believe this place has gone down as much as it has. I used to travel 45 minutes to come here regularly and I had the best food every single time I came here. Not so much today. Arrived at 3:10 on this Friday, waited over 5 minutes to be seated and more than that for anyone to notice i was there. After watching for some time, i noticed that the dining floor was being attended by one person who was also working the bar, the OTHER side of the restaurant, filling ice bins for Happy Hour. One wonders if she was cooking as well. I ordered the steak/shrimp and broccoli and a mound of the coldest mashed you've ever had (and every applebess had no idea how to heat their mashed, cold in all 5 locations i frequent!!). The steak was ordered as Medium Well and came out waaaay past burned and charred. After waiting over 16 minutes for it to arrive, even the steak knife was UNSUCCESSFUL to cutting through it or cutting off any pieces for me to try. I was able to see that it was solid brown through and through which is not what Medium Well is - slightly pink!! Server never checked to see how my meal was nor to refill my Diet Cola until she noticed the plate in the center of the table waiting, not for a doggy bag, even the puppy wouldnt have been able to tackle this leathery mess. I said no, this was far away from being near Medium Rare, asked if i would like another one and i definitely said No! I paid with credit card on that machine in center of table and walked out, dissatisfied with my entire experience. I had just left the wake of my best friend of over 25 years who will be buried tomorrow and this was one of the places we always met, so disappointed doesn't even begin to make me feel about coming back to this one. I will go back to Middleburg and Great Northern as they know how to serve, and check on and COOK more like a chef than my mothers home cooking which was not to die for. I took my granddaughters out for lunch at Applebee's. We were seated immediately, but it took 15 minutes to receive a glass of water. The waitress was very friendly and apologetic, though it seemed the restaurant might have been a bit understaffed. When I ordered my usual bourbon, it also took 15 minutes to arrive, and I was offered a cheaper substitute instead. Additionally, I was surprised to find my drink priced at $19, compared to the $8 I usually pay at my local Applebee's. The food took a while to arrive as well; my pasta was undercooked, and the buns on the girls' hamburgers were hard. After visiting last night, I now know why the rating is so low. Service was extremely slow. The bartender would disappear at sometimes more than 15 minutes. Would then go to his register/monitor pretend like he was typing in orders but would be playing on his phone. I went to this restaurant 11/7/23. It was approximately 5,:00 pm. There was no receptionist and i waited an unpleasant amount of time . When i was seated, in an empty room, i was seated next to the restroom doors. The hostess wax flummoxed by my refusal to sit there. My server was indifferent. I fully believe that the customers' expectations as to service are reflected in the waiters' attitude. To be blunt. as an old white make dressed in sweats patronizing a restaurant that had a substantial black customer base, one of two things are reasonable: a white patron is not welcome or the customer base does expect anything better. I was seated, ordered, and served. The tortilla soup tasted very nice with a little heat. It's chicken and tortilla strips were nice. The chicken wonton tacos were three to the order. I ordered a to go order on November 19, 1/2 slab of ribs baked potatoe. The ribs were completely dried out, burnt to a crisp and the baked potato overcooked. I contacted the manager, Liz S and she responded quickly to resolve the problem. I threw away the dinner and didn't want to drive back to the restaurant to get another meal that night. There was a local deli in our town that I would never eat at and I never thought any other place could be ranked as low on my personal list, but Applebees filled the spot. OK, so I will look beyond the green extended fingernails and pink hair of the server...I ordered I believe the veggie burger and an iced tea and with tip the meal quality was poor and the cost...I could have spent little more and had a very decent and healthy meal at the Capital Grill. This garbage was over $20 for lunch out with the girls (who for some unknown reason favor this place...perhaps it is location. As I write this I am back to re review the menu before calling someone to say if I will join them next week or not. I will most likely only order a beverage. I am not a saint when it comes to my diet, but it is supposed to be heart healthy avoiding fried and sodium. There is little here to pick from that isn't one or the other and anything getting closer to healthy is even more expensive. I'm just not putting up with it now that I have become a senior on a fixed income. I'd rather eat McDonalds if I'm going to go unhealthy. Let me end this on a positive note. OK so we all ordered this burger that came with bacon, straw onions, and cheese. I asked if it could be cooked Medium Rare. The barkeep said they could make it pink. I like pink but only when it comes to meat! Burgers came out perfectly cooked and were mighty tasty! The fries decent. I must say I felt like a mini Santa Claus after this, ho ho ho! The service was polite and efficient. The bartender was stuck making some sort of ice cream liqueur concoction. he apologized and said he would be with us in just a minute. Came on a Friday night with my wonderful daughter. We ordered our food right away. The bad thing is we waited for almost an hour to get a kids meal and an appetizer. Her food came out and was cold and over cooked. My food came out so salty that you could melt ice with it on Mayfield Road. I returned my food and decided to go to another place for dinner. While I normally don't expect much from a mid-level chain like this, I am very disappointed after my second visit here. My first visit was during the holidays, and the service was very slow and the food mediocre. Per the server, he was actually just a temp from the kitchen who they brought out to help out. I guess the fact that his nametag said "Batman" should have been the tip-off. My second visit was a week ago and the service was again very slow, with no one checking on our table or refilling drinks while we waited for what seemed forever for our food. Honestly, this may be one of the worst Applebee's in the area. Please save your money and time. Our waiter, James, was pleasant for the first 10 minutes, but then became a huge mess. We received our beverages and appetizers at a fairly good time (after 15 min, of him originally asking), then it was time for us to place our order. Once that was done....we literally waited 55 minutes until we received the first dish. Keep in mind, we actually got the bill BEFORE receiving any of the food, 30 minutes in! And when we got the bill, we asked if we could get refills because of how starving and tired we were. Surprised he didn't ask us after seeing all our cups completely empty.....Then when we got our refills, he pretty much said how they typically don't hand out refills after 9. It's not exactly our fault that we had to wait until 9. But by the time our food finally started arriving, James confused some of our orders as in who ordered what, and messed up an order of barbecue wings completely. Which he rolled is eyes when we asked for the correct order. Even the receipt showed it......Did I mention he didn't write much when we were placing our orders? He thought he could memorize everything. Back to the story, after we all finally received our food, not even 5 minutes into eating, James comes back to ask if we need to-go boxes. At that point we were ready to go because of how slow the night was, so we said yes. And as you probably guessed. It took him a good 15 minutes to get 3 boxes.....so yeah.
