My wife ordered steak, I ordered the Neighborhood Burger. We waited for nearly 30 minutes for our food. Finally the waitress came and said they were waiting on the steak because it was frozen. Seriously, Friday night and you didn't have steaks out thawed and ready to cook. So after waiting nearly 45 minutes to get our food, the steak was fine, but obviously the burger had been cooked and sitting under a heat lamp the whole time. Bun was hard, and tasted terrible. Upon arriving (Mothers Day Sunday) at 6:30pm I went to the restroom. Paper was all over the floor. There was no hand soap or paper towels to dry rinsed off hands. A server gave me about an inch of napkins to dry my hands. The mozzarella Sticks were served warm with cold marinara sauce. You got 8 for $9.99 Our server was not a Happy camper. He never smiled and stomped around miserable and complaining to everyone. There were two other individuals at the bar with us and they agreed with my comment. My husband's French onion soup was horrible. He could not even eat it. Food was coming out of the kitchen cold. His steak was tough and boxed up for dog. His potatoes were cold as were mine. Butter would not melt on them. The green beans were like rubber. I recommend going somewhere else to eat if you are looking to spend $60 for a meal. Do not order sweet tea...mine was sour. Most certainly would get rid of the young man who served us. He clearly is not to be around humans. I did leave him 20% of my check for a tip because he did bring boxes to pack up food for our dog. I also served food for over 30 years and did not have it in me to stiff a server no matter how terrible. Teamwork is seriously lacking here....food should never leave a kitchen cold. I saw the ad for sizzle skillets and wanted to try it, but not worth the wait. Service was slow and almost nonexistent. I don't know if it poor management or what. The waitress were not standing around. They were serving and bussing table but no food was coming out. When the food did come out, the waitress forgot a knife and you couldn't cut steak without it (hard as a rock) when asked for a knife it took a good 5 minutes to get one. Terrible service, it took 20 minutes to get our drink order, 30 minutes to get our meal, (and no drink refills while waiting on food), 5 additional minutes to get our silverware. When the waiter brought the drinks he spilled some on the table and didn't clean it up so we used the cocktail napkins to clean it up ourselves. When the food finally arrived you could tell that it had been sitting for some time and the chicken strips were about the size of a finger (small). When we finally got the refills they brought unsweetened tea instead of sweet tea, twice so we drank unsweetened tea. Was really busy when we ate there. And I'm a reasonable person. I expected a wait, okay, understandable. When my dish arrived (I always get the same thing) it was such poor quality, completely unappetizing. Over cooked, lack of sauce. The bacon bits were literally black. Next complaint, my youngest son was the last to get his food. Like, 10-15 minutes after the rest of our party. The waitress apologized, said they cooked the first one too long so they had to make him another. Not cool. Next, my mother was eating and bit into her chicken, thought there was a bone, but it was a SHARP piece of plastic!!! I mean, seriously...wth? When the waitress came, I wanted to relay our complaints but I was still feeling reasonable. Ya know, not every experience is going to be ideal. I said, It's not your fault but what's wrong in the kitchen today? She's like, Oh nothing! Then I'm like, well Here's the piece of plastic that my mother almost swallowed! And before I could make my other complaints she took the trash and said she would let them know in the back. Wait. I wasn't finished.... Manager comes out and apologizes, and they took $10 off for my moms meal. That's a good start anyways! But when my older son walked to the bathroom, he heard our waitress mocking me, repeating what I had asked about kitchen staff and what the problem was.... This was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. It's Valentine's Day and I am trying to have a date with my fiance to celebrate. The host started out saying that there would be a wait because they had some servers walk out that night. Totally fine, we have no problem just drinking in the meantime and talking. We sat down and waited about 15 minutes for our server to walk by and apologize for the wait, and drop off plates and napkins. She said she would be back for our orders. We wait twenty minutes longer just for her to take another table's order that came in behind us, meanwhile we still have not even ordered drinks after sitting for 35 minutes. Then our server got into an argument with a guy who waited 2 1/2 hours for the food at his table only for him to have finished his dinner and his partner not having had any food served yet. Well Applebee's is not the first choice I make when selecting a restaurant but they do have several options on the menu that I like. However unless you have an entire evening with nothing else to do I would recommend finding somewhere else. This location has about the slowest service I have ever experienced.
